My parents always brought us, my sister and I, in cinema when we were younger. Kill Bill vol.1 open me to a whole new world when it was released. I discovered how much I appreciated the work behind a movie making back then, it was a start. But this reflexion blow up when I was watching this movie. My parents argued with each other about the fact the movie was forbidden to people under 16 yo and have diffuculties to decide if my sister and I were allowed to watch it. They argued in the middle of the theater since the cinema staff knows us and let us get in without problems. I don't remember if my father and my sister stays with us, just to prove his opinion. I was 12 yo and when the movie starts, I was so looking forward to watch this sulfourous piece of art. Then the lights went out, the movie begun and everything fit together: music, lights, noises, acting, scenario, quotes,...It was magical. I guess it was a pure example of a first screening of Tarantino's movie at that time, for me.
