@pennedfairytales asked : “ it doesnt make sense. “ tauriel & anna.

tauriel looked up from the paper she was reading when the red head spoke. ‘ what doesnt make sense? ‘ tauriel wanted to make sure nothing was wrong , since she didnt always read people well. she was far better at being a fighter then trying to figure out people’s feelings. ‘ are you okay? ‘

tauriel found more peace in the woods and among the animals , it helped give her a sense of home that she was desperately hanging onto since her own memories have started to show up. it had helped her ease her stresses , so she went to the same place she usually went , which was the water in the woods. tauriel honestly wasnt looking towards the water but more the the ground as she walked. but her head shot up at a voice she didnt think she would get the chance to hear again. ‘ kili? ‘ tauriel asked since she wasnt so sure with all the weird things going on.

Like most days recently, Kili had found himself by the lake. He didn't really feel that drawn to it, just that it was calmer there then anywhere else in town. At this point he didn't know what else to do, he didn't really understand the thoughts in his head anymore, and he wasn't sure he wanted to either. Instead he was opting to skim stones on the water, mindless perhaps, but it was a nice distraction.
Hearing footsteps, he shook his head, trying to focus on reality. He could hardly admit that his mind felt between this world and a dream. "It's a beautiful evening, didn't think anyone else would come up here though" he said aloud, hoping it seemed normal enough. "I mean, I don't mind, just surprised" so much for seeming normal.

@violentdelightstheseviolentends asked : “ you okay? Caught you staring off into space again. “ tauriel & bard.

tauriel turned her head and looked at bard with an apologetic smile. ‘ sorry , i was just thinking. what were you saying? ‘ tauriel had been having a rough time adjusting , especially with kili being here and not remembering her or who he really was.

tauriel had found herself zoning out a lot lately , and it had been a bit embarrassing if she was honest. getting her memories back also brought back the pain and confusion she felt the days prior to her last day of memories. ‘ yeah , about home among other things. ‘ tauriel admitted. ‘ how are you adjusting? ‘

"Nothing important lass" not really anyway. He wasn't sure if much here mattered anymore, not when they had memories of the past, if they had memories of how things should be. "About... home?"

one of tauriel’s biggest regrets was not leaving for the dwarves sooner , that might have kept him alive. but she hadnt been able to save his life twice and it was one of her biggest ghosts. so standing in front of him felt surreal , though she shouldnt feel the kind of pain she was at him not remembering. ‘ my name is tauriel , we met awhile ago. ‘ tauriel spoke forcing a friendly smile.

He hadn't really been planning on a conversation. He'd be polite enough, sure, but he wasn't sure he was in the right headspace at the moment. It sounded insane if he tried to explain it, but he didn't know what to do with it. Least until he heard his name and he turned. But that... that couldn't be possible? He didn't know her, he knew that, but recently... recently he had remembered her. Only he hadn't thought she was real, some dream from another world. But she was standing here, knowing who he was? "Yes... I know you, don't I?" it wasn't really a question, he knew her, but why... why he didn't know.

tauriel nodded her head at his words , tauriel knew how his story ended and she didnt know if she wanted to be the reason he knew of that fucked up fate. ‘ they should come back , everyone ive met who experience this eventually fixes. ‘ tauriel tried to assure him , it had taken herself a couple weeks before it had all fully return to her. ‘ we’re from a place called middle earth. ‘

"In another world" that he knew, but how and why he knew he didn't know. He didn't really know how to explain any of this, it sounded insane. He had been wondering if he was actually loosing it, until he had seen her here. "I don't remember... not details. Just faces" Her's, a brother, an uncle, friends. But he didn't know what had happened with them, what had happened afterwards. "Where?"

tauriel could understand the not wanting it back , especially since she knew that the real outcome was in the end. this situation was a difficult one , because youre pretty much in a lose lose situation. ‘ thats the dilemma isnt it , feels like a rock and a hard place. ‘ tauriel sympathized but she wasn't quite sure how to navigate this conversation. ‘ nothing like this one , magic is more prominent in our world. ‘

"I don't know if I want that. Seems to be tearing people apart" and then he'd have to face the truth that his family wasn't his family. That his brother was a stranger? That didn't seem right either. But then wasn't not knowing also causing problems in it's own way? He wasn't sure what he was meant to do about any of this right now, it was headache inducing in it's own way. "So it was another world... It wasn't like this one was it".

tauriel didnt know how she felt about the island yet , especially at every turn it likes to throw something else at her. tauriel felt like she couldnt catch a break , but her problems didnt compare to his , so she didnt want to complain about them. when he questioned her about other things , tauriel shrugged her shoulders before changing the subject. ‘ they will show it , i’ll keep an eye out for you as well. ‘

"Other things?" ok so he was pushing a little with that, but he knew full well if she didn't want to talk about it, she simply wouldn't answer. Elves he supposed, although if that had changed in this land he didn't really know. "This world is fine" he replied with a shrug, there was definitely improvements from the way he'd lived before, inventions they'd never had. "But my children are still missing".

tauriel shrugged her shoulders at his comment as she sat down next to him but made sure to give him enough space. kili seemed like he needed someone and despite her feelings she wanted to at least extend that to him. ‘ i can go if you want me too. ‘ tauriel offered leaning back to get ready to get up if he wanted her to.
tauriel & kili ❛ i thought you’d like some company. ❜

"Are you sure?" he asked, before realising how it sounded. "I just mean... well you have to know what's going on here. Doesn't seem like it's very easy for you" she had recognised him, and known his name. He had remembered her, but he hadn't known why, and he hadn't known her name. He hadn't even really believed she was real until she was standing there. If this was confusing enough for him, he couldn't imagine what she was going through.

tauriel smiled lightly at the comment about the kids , it would be nice seeing them as well. despite the problems this place had given her , it was far safer for a human children here than back home. ‘ that feeling would be mutual. ‘ tauriel admitted , but she had agreed with him on the dragons. ‘ yeah it is a bit unsettling. ‘

Could it be that simple? He wished it was, but so far he'd had no luck and he didn't know what else to do. "They'll be glad to see you again if they do" that he did know. What would have happened that day if she hadn't been there he didn't know, he didn't even want to think about. "And yet here, dragons roam the skies and we're meant to just accept it" he couldn't, he saw what they were capable of.

‘ the only comfort i can give you in that is that no one here had a say in it either. ‘ tauriel knew how isolating it felt when she got her memories back , especially since she hadnt found anyone yet from home when she had started that journey. so she understood the bitterness and tried to not take offense. ‘ we met while you were on quest with your kin. ‘ tauriel didnt think he would believe her if she started with the actual details. tauriel didnt want to overwhelm him even more than she might have.

That was cruel, he'd said it without thinking, and only now realising that she did know what it was that he had forgotten. "Doesn't seem like it's a dilemma I have a say in, who knows why he remember or don't" and he wasn't going to pretend to understand magic. He wasn't that smart. "Then... how did we know each other?" ok now he really was fishing. He knew how he felt, but he also knew those feelings could easily be one sided, without his own memories, it was impossible to tell.

tauriel nodded her head in agreement knowing that magic was a hard pill to swallow in the current moment but it should help with some explanations. ‘ from what ive learned from the people around this place , it seems that one mans fantasy are anothers reality. ‘ tauriel didnt know how else to talk about it , she had always been rather blunt but she didnt want to come off cold about it to him. ‘ i know its a lot , but i wouldnt lie to you which i also know that im a stranger to you know but eventually i wont be anymore. ‘

"Like magic?" but that didn't seem right, magic didn't exist... or was she about to tell him that it did exist and that everything he knew was wrong. Maybe he did need a drink or twelve. "A quest?" those weren't normal, and now he was more worried that his off-handed thoughts of magic were less odd than he first thought. "That sounds like fantasy, with dragons".

‘ it seems that no one here is actually from this place , i havent figured out how or why but ive been looking. ‘ tauriel knew there really wasnt much she could say to make him feel better about everything. tauriel knew that this was something crazy and truly unbelievable but it was unfortunately the situation that they were in. ‘ if there is anything i can do to help please let me know , im here for you. ‘

"I thought people just had different memories, not different worlds" or he had been shutting it down when he did hear. It was too much to take in, too confusing. He had a life here, he had been happy. He wanted to claim that he still was happy, but he wasn't sure he believed that himself. Everything was just so confusing. "I know you wouldn't" he didn't know why he believed that, he just knew that it was true. "It's a strange situation, all of this".

‘ please do , im sure they will show up. more and more people seem to show up around here. ‘ tauriel assured , hoping for his sake it was soon she could only imagine the pain of people separated from their children. ‘ yeah the reactions some are having to this place is rather unusual. so far ive gathered that not everyone from here is also from middle earth. ‘

"Well if I ever do locate them here, I will let you know" but there was the problem, no matter what he did, he couldn't find them. It was headache inducing, he just wanted them to be safe, nothing more then that. "And then treated like the outliers for being afraid of them. If they only knew the damage".
