TADC theory/prediction thingy

I've been thinking about how the series as a whole will be structured and finally have an idea I feel confident in.

I think the series will flow like the first season of Psychoville, the first and last episodes are, of course, setup and resolution, while the other episodes advance the overall plot while each episode also spotlights an individual character.

The main evidence is that, frankly, it's the best way to blend the implied backstory exploration with Caine's daily adventures. Which also gives numerous opportunities for guest stars like Elsie Lovelock as the Gloink Queen.

There's a trailer for TADC episode 2

Let's just cut the shit, ratta-tat, pitter-patter and get this show on the road!!!!!

It looks to me like the adventure of the da will see the crew (minus Zooble, so screw me and the other Zooble fans, I guess) being taken to the candy castle town by and admittedly adorable gummiphant thingy. The last shot somewhat reminds me of Caine explaining what Gloinks are, so I can only assume the MPPEP syrup Bubble is presenting will be the mguffin of the adventure.

The gang will be provided with a candy truck for their quest, and Jax will be provided with a flintlicorice, because why not?

I'm honestly shocked Goose's love for Gummigoo didn't tip us off to him being evil, either way, it seems him and his 2 goons (one of which references Pizza Tower and is thus automatically a great character) will repeatedly try to stop our plucky performers from

We get 2 brief glimpses of Fudge Monster, who seems to have a hypnotic stare and is a good bit bigger than I expected.

Now for some misc. details.

Judging from the background, this might be Gummigoo finding himself in negative space in the code after the adventure he was made for is finished, which might build to something in future episodes.

I have no idea what's going on here, but it can't be good.

And lastly, when we see the May 3rd release date, Pomni specifically calls out that she was sent to a meat freezer, which makes me think episode 3 will be the one to take place at Spudsy's.

Let's talk about TADC episode 2!

So, I originally wanted to do a review post for the episode, but my thoughts boil down to "It's great, I wish the changes from plot a to b were a bit better placed, but otherwise no notes"

I instead decided to do a post about some theories I've been pondering a lot since the premier.

The Gangle Issue

So, some things have been bothering me about Gangle ever since the pilot and I've finally cracked it!

Caine makes a point of saying that he can't directly alter human minds....So why then, does Gangle's mask control her general mood? If she is human, how does an in-game mechanic effect her mind so directly? Why does Caine so intensely fear mixing up players and NPCs? Does he suspect it's already happened?

And then there's this line from Jax: "I thought you were supposed to be submissive and agreeable!" This is obviously a joke, but the way he said it stuck out to me, the emphasis he puts on SUPPOSED TO BE, as if she's specifically made to act a certain way.

So, with all this said, can an NPC sufficiently convinced it's a human abstract?

The Origins of Jax

Both of the first 2 episodes have made some things apparent about Jax, he's great at slightly of hand and pickpocketing, he doesn't see a point to generosity, he can think quickly and takes genuine joy in the action oriented parts of adventures.

I've marinated on these traits and him being a more recent arrival to the circus and come up with this:

Jax was homeless in the real world and he entered the circus while squatting in the abandoned C&A office building.

He doesn't want to leave because he has nothing to go back to, he's in a world where rather than struggling to survive to tomorrow, he's able to enjoy effectively consequence free thrills daily.

All this lead me to one last theory

The In-Tent Behind The Circus

Personally, I think e circus was made to function as a place to keep people seen as too broken to fit into society for one reason or another. Perhaps it was planned to have a way of letting those who have healed out at some point, but the memory wipes made it impossible, so the project was buried. Or maybe, it's the opposite, it was designed to confuse it's occupants into harmlessess, after which they'd could be safely forgotten about.

Time will tell.

Theorizing on the TADC episode 3 trailer

Screenshots I presume take place before the adventure of the day.

Some early parts of the adventure in what I believe is chronological order. I fully expect that little ghost to grow a giant toothy maw and that's what scares Pomni. Gangle is also still happy as they enter

The second segment of the adventure, which also highlights the interesting part of this episode's premise. Pomni spends an adventure which requires critical thinking and problem solving stuck with the most mentally damaged player in the circus.

I think this sequence plays out with Pomni and Kinger falling out the chute on the left and finding the gun with the remains of Mr. Mildenhall.

In these first two images we see messed up Jax and Zooble heads on the left of the individual images, which, combined with the Pomni head from the wackywatch and its wonky eyes, makes me think the head in the right image is representative of Kinger, hence Pomni's shock.

I think this pillow fort isn't in the actual circus, but an illusion of the manor, intended to lure Kinger in.

What I believe are sequential shots from the climax where Martha possesses Pomni only to be taken out by the vacuum cleaner Jax found/brought (along with one of Kinger's eyes).

Sadly, I don't have the image space left in the post to talk about Zooble's therapy subplot, but it seems simple enough, Caine approaches them when they decline another adventure, he puts them in therapy, they both struggle to navigate the conversation and Caine ultimately comes to some ill thought out conclusion.
