↬ a/n: don’t read this. this author doesn’t know what she is writing and this was an absolute questionable piece i churned out and i’m not proud of it

“To everyone who is watching, we are at Sevit High for the Abacus Tournament Finals. Let’s warmly welcome our finalists, Choi Chanhee and Baek Seulgi!” Chanhee and Seulgi stepped up on stage and took their places.

“Contestant Choi Chanhee, what are your thoughts for the finals for this Abacus Tournament?” Chanhee proudly looked at the host, “I’m up to the challenge and I will bring glory to Sevit High.” He glanced across the stage and gazed at you and the host nodded his head, “Tension is building up between these two! Contestant Baek Seulgi, what is one thing you want to say to your opponent?” “The victory will belong to Daegu High.” Seulgi stared back at him, though he noticed that her gaze wavered.  

“Such words of confidence! With that, let’s begin!”

“It’s the final round. Will Daegu High be victorious? Or will Sevit High bring the $3,000 home tonight?” The commentator announced and Chanhee listened closely to the host. As soon as he heard the numbers, his fingers swiftly moved across the abacus. He reached out to press the buzzer, “The answer is 42698!” “And you are correct! Congratulations Chanhee for emerging first!” Paper confetti was tossed into the air and Chanhee sighed in relief that the tournament was finally over.

The host gestured for both Chanhee and Seulgi to stand beside him. A teacher from behind handed the cheque and a certificate to Chanhee and a mic was directed to him, “Uh, I would like to thank my teachers who have been supportive of this tournament. Thank you Sevit High!” The host then held the mic out to Seulgi and he gazed at her from the corner of his eyes, “Seulgi-ssi, you must be disappointed that you hadn’t come in first place.”

“I’m surprised that I made it this far from being one of the 32 school participating to one of the finalists. A big thank you to all my teachers and classmates who’ve been tutoring me.” Seulgi gave a little bow, a certificate in her hands. “Thank you contestants.” A teacher backstage then motioned for the two of them to move off stage. Chanhee extended his hand, “It was an eye-opener to be competing against you. Seulgi-ssi.” “Me too Chanhee-ssi.”

Chanhee watched as Seulgi walked off towards the main entrance of Sevit High, but stopped in his tracks when he spotted her talking to the security guard. He inched closer to them so he could clearly see their actions. It felt wrong, but his curiosity got the better of him. He saw Uncle Kim—the security guard of Sevit High—wiping away Seulgi’s tears, but Seulgi brushed him off and stormed away, leaving Chanhee confused. As he got closer to Uncle Kim, Chanhee got his attention and Uncle Kim called out, “Chanhee, would you please go after my granddaughter? I...I can’t leave my post.” Chanhee sprinted after her as soon as he heard that.

“Ya! Baek Seulgi!” He shouted out, his legs picking up speed. When he finally caught up to her, he didn’t know what to say, “Uh, Uncle Kim...your grandfather is worried about you. You shouldn’t have run off just like that.” He muttered the last part under his breath but when he had a glimpse of her teary eyes he pulled her in for a hug. God knows what he was thinking, but all he wanted to do was to comfort her.

“Don’t cry.” “I feel so bad because I wanted to win so badly so I could ease my grandpa’s burden.” He patted her back, “I’ll give you my $3,000.” Seulgi stopped sniffling, “What? You believe me?” Chanhee explained, “My family has a shit-ton of money. I had to win their tournament so my parents have something to brag about. I don’t need the money either, so I want to give it to you.” “But you trust me?” He nodded his head, “I sense your earnestness and your desperation to do your best. I would trust you.”

“Really?” “Yeah, really.” He fished out the cheque and handed it over. Seulgi tip-toed and pressed a chaste kiss on his cheeks.

“I don’t know how to thank you.”

“You...can work hard and transfer into Sevit. I’ll wait for you.” (Chanhee is probably going to try and pull some strings to move Seulgi into his school.)

juyeon -- mismtached athleisure set 

everyone knows juyeon loves dancing; more often than not, he would wear matching tops and bottoms -- an athleisure set (he absolutely likes to match, but no one knows why)

juyeon thought matching sets were cool until you proved him wrong with a mismatched set 

he stares at you incredulously as you shuffled into the living in a pink nike zip up jacket and an adidas grey sweatpants, yawning

“what’s with your get up?” “you left them lying around and i was naked.” 

burst out laughing as he gestures for you to join him on the couch, hugging you tightly

kevin -- blazer 

“kevin i can i borrow this?” “yeah.” kevin replies absent-mindedly 

turns out it was a blazer you had wanted to use; kevin nearly drops his phone out of pure adoration 

“love, you’re utterly rocking this.” he stares in shock as you shrugged on the navy blue blazer with his emblem in the form of a badge pinned on 

he thought the only time he’d kneel for you was when he was going to propose, but he better start kneeling to take pictures of you 

totally hypes you up for looking this good in just a blazer (now imagine an entire set)

chanhee -- bracelets

chanhee and you were chilling by the beach and you were fiddling with the bracelet adorning his wrist

(he never told you it was cute to see you hyper-fixated and he just watches you with all the love and patience in his eyes) 

you gently removed the bracelet and clasped it onto your own wrist， admiring the handiwork, before returning it to him, a sheepish smile on your face

“you should keep it. that way it feels like a piece of me is with you.” 

chanhee could simply watch the way you blush, stuttering as you returned the bracelet, as a small smile graced his lips

changmin -- socks

for the most part his stylist would decide the different clothes he wear, but socks wasn’t one of them

changmin has many pairs of cartoon-clad socks and he had purposely got them as you also had a habit of wearing socks, even at home

he’d eye you as you made breakfast (in green avocado socks) while he crosses his leg up on the chair and props his head up on his palms 

“changmin!” you balance on one leg, showing off your (his) socks and grinning stupidly (very! very! cute!) “i know i know. don’t fall!”

↬ buys the required item and gets out: sangyeon, hyunjae, juyeon 

in my opinion, they would be the type not to dilly-dally 

they have a pURPOSE there and it is to get that item (or items, depending) 

juyeon would have 9/10 memorized the layout don’t ask me why it’s just a gut feeling 

|| juyeon ||  “just the shower rack?”  “oh! and juyeon, if there’s a sale for foldable boxes then let’s get those too!”  “if my baby says so~” (he could totally make this a date if he wanted to) 

|| hyunjae ||  “i think that’s everything we need. see? i’ve ticked it off this list. aren’t I reliable?” *is absolutely holding his phone up in pride*  “my hyunjae is the best!” (this meticulous boy >< he’d would check through everything for you)

|| sangyeon ||  “sangyeon, why do we have this storage unit? I don’t remember placing this into our cart...”  “oh, because lately you’ve been bringing stuff home from your workplace and i thought it would be a good place to store your file folders. then when you don’t need it we can use it for other things!” (bless this thoughtful boy) 

↬ buys everything BUT the required item: changmin, jacob

i have a hunch they would get distracted halfway (yes surprisingly jacob: househusband vibes are immaculate and bursting through the roof)

when they finally leave, they’d then realize that they didn’t get their required item and would most definitely return another day 

|| changmin || “I’M GETTING THIS PLUSHIE!!” “changmin, i literally do not have space to lie on your bed anymore.” “but it’s a shark :<” (changmin is practically begging to have another by throwing in tons of promises)

|| jacob || “i think we could use a new sofa...”  “jacob, are you sure you’re saying that not because you think the latest designs are minimalistic?” “w-what?” (he is already formulating a way to get past you and your mind games, just so he could purchase that sofa)

↬ is playing in the showrooms: sunwoo, eric, kevin

bonus if it’s all three of them together in one showroom: their energy is unmatched and uNHINGED 

i mean,, this is literally them 

|| eric || “oh my gods, this bed is so soft! we should get this bedsheet.” “eric i don’t think you’re meant to lie--” “no scratch that let’s take this entire bed with us!” (he’s basically the adult with a kid trapped inside: he’s gotta touch every single thing, lie on every single thing)

|| sunwoo ||  “hand me the files. we’ve got a case to crack.”  “why do you...sunwoo, you give me second hand embarrassment.” “that one over there seems PERFECT to continue the story of ‘how i became a chef’! let’s go!”  (you’d have to drag this tall men OUT of the showroom before some kid starts crying at the threatening faces he’s making)

|| kevin || “hey darling could you pass me the wine glasses? it’s a perfect night to celebrate my promotion!”  “...we’re not doing this, i beg you--”  “what type of wine do you prefer? red or white?” (he finds it funny that on-lookers are just watching you, with your hands over your embarrassed face)

↬ there for the food: younghoon, chanhee, juhaknyeon

(i’d like those meatballs too, please and thank you)

while it might not be their sole purpose of visiting, they’d have to make the opportunity to at least eat there because come on who would want to miss out?

|| juhaknyeon || “another round of meatballs?” “i’m full--” “that’s a yes, so let’s go~!” (meatball_luvr </3 now i don’t know if ikea does sell their meatballs like those pre-made ones but if there were, haknyeon would TOTALLY buy them in bulk) 

|| chanhee || “there’s a new release! the chocolate mandarin cake! we’ve so got to buy one!” “wait wait, chanhee what’s the occasion?” “a new release, duh!” (there’s no stopping chanhee now)

|| younghoon || “also younghoon, this is really TMI but i just saw that ikea is having a promotion for the salmon fillet and...why did we get off at this exit?” “you said ikea and promotion. we’re heading there.” “?? but ???” (younghoon would drop whatever he has for the food,, odd i know but its his little addiction)
