"Mabel, can we talk after the session?" Jayden whispered to her.
"Sure, we can talk at the café on the first floor."
As soon as the photoshoot ended, Mabel felt anxious to know what Jayden wanted to talk about, since he seemed serious. At the café, the two sat down while waiting for their order.
"So, what’s been bothering you? In this whole year, I’ve never seen you this anxious," Mabel initiated the conversation.
"Have you seen what people are saying about us on Simstagram? The gossip sites, the fans," Jayden asked.
"You know I haven’t. I barely have time to breathe," Mabel sighed.
"Well, part of the public thinks we’re dating, or at least they're rooting for it to happen. According to them—and I won’t deny it—we have incredible chemistry and a huge amount of sexual tension," Jayden shot her a mischievous look. "But then there’s the other side, the ones being really nasty about you. Saying you’re untalented and slept your way to the top. Honestly, it bothers me a lot, because I’ve always thought you were amazing. I’ve followed your career since I joined modeling school."
"Haha, so you had posters of me on your wall?" Despite the joke, Mabel was touched to know Jayden was familiar with her work from when she lived in Paris.
"It’s no joke, Mabel. But anyway, I have a solution. What do you think about us pretending to date? Go on dates, show people we’re a couple. What do you think?
(Mabel hesitates but continues the conversation until Jayden convinces her).
After a few minutes of back-and-forth, Mabel, still hesitant, gave in. She knew Jayden was just trying to help, and his intentions seemed genuine. "Okay, I agree with that plan''
They were followed by paparazzi as they left a photoshoot together. Pretending not to notice the cameras, the two kept up a casual conversation as if nothing was happening. However, the tension between them was palpable.
When they reached Mabel’s apartment, she unlocked the door, and they quickly stepped inside, leaving the noise of the streets behind. Jayden closed the door and looked directly at Mabel.
"What was that? It’s like they won’t leave us alone," Mabel said, slightly exasperated but with an amused tone.
Jayden stepped closer, his eyes locked on hers. "We’re making this work, aren’t we? No one suspected we were pretending."
Mabel’s heart raced. The atmosphere in the apartment was thick with the tension they both pretended not to feel. Jayden took another step toward her, his eyes intense.
"Mabel, we’re on the same page, aren’t we?"

After the trip, Valetina met with her friends to share the news of her engagement
