Make Your Own Petrichor!

I love the smell of rain but I don’t get it very often. A while ago I was collecting some pecans and washing them to eat when I noticed I could smell petrichor on the wet husks, so I let them dry and put them in a container. Now when I want to smell rain I just wet them a bit. I would think you can do this with mulch as well, maybe check the smell of some the next time it rains in your area.

I also like that it reminds me of my theriotype habitat.

!Caution!:

This may cause mold.

For best practice allow your mulch to dry out fully between uses. Consider occasional cleaning of the container and throw out mulch if mold forms, you never know if it may be harmful.
