One Room Angel Ep 4 Stray Thoughts

Last week, we met Kouki's mom and learned about Kouki's past. Kouki made Angel literally hide in a closet. He got his brother involved in selling drugs and they eventually got caught up with the Yakuza. Now his brother is one of them and he hasn't seen him in forever. Kouki had a confrontation with the boss of those thugs that stabbed him and beat the crap out of the guy because he was worried about Angel. Angel continues to say the things Kouki needs to hear and they had a cute moment on the roof with sparklers. We left at Angel contemplating the death of a student, and I'm musing on the fact that Angel will have to leave at some point.

Angel is so pretty in a way that feels perfect for this character. His presence was so powerful when he won rock, paper, scissors.

Now he made himself molt because he scared Kouki so bad.

Episode 4: Tears

I think Koki has set up a makeshift swamp cooler.

I was wondering if others could perceive Angel. Looks like the answer is no.

Curious at the intended mythology of a young man who died this way becoming an angel attached to another man who has maybe been slowly doing the same to himself.

Oh wow seeing Angel jump was dark.

Oh, we may know Angel's name. I was curious about the interrogation in the first episode, but it makes sense now that there were two incidents.

The dad doesn't seem like he didn't appreciate his son.

I like this hug. Koki has so many feelings in him, and I'm glad someone can perceive them.

Oh, what does it mean when someone sees how lonely you are and offers to help, and you can't pretend that you're not hurting?

I'm absolutely enamored with this dynamic. Men feel so many things that go unexpressed, and I love that we have a character this deep in himself who can't hide these things. I'm also enjoying Angel's existential crisis and how Koki is struggling with his own conflicted feelings about the dynamic. This show is so different, and I feel like it's helping me reset.
