Andi Mack Theory: Regarding Jonah and TJ

At the promo for Andi Mack 03x08 we can see Cyrus and Jonah playing ping-pong, and all seems fun and fine until TJ arrived and Jonah became uncomfortable. He then makes an excuse to leave, saying he just remembered he had to be somewhere else. When TJ jokingly says he’s leaving because he was losing the game to Cyrus, Jonah responds irritated that he was leaving because of him. When Cyrus tries to stop him and asks what’s wrong, Jonah says “Ask him” refering to TJ, and then leaves.

Initially I believed Jonah was still angry at TJ because of them gun incident, but his last line before leaving indicates something else. I don’t think his angry at TJ due to anything related to him wietnessing one of his panic attacks, specially because he received help from the other boy. So perhaps it is something that we haven’t seen on screen, at least not yet.

My theory at the moment is that Jonah’s anger has to do with something that happened further in the past, maybe during their childhood. If that’s what happened, considering that Asher Angel’s brother, Avi Angel, is going play a role in the show, it could be that he’ll play a younger Jonah Beck, and that’s when it’ll be revealed where Jonah’s apparent anger towards TJ comes from.

Either way, the hiatus means we’ll all have to wait until next year to find out.

tyrus 3x07

tj’s been texting and calling cyrus (the way they are sitting the girls giving him boy advice) 

when he see’s tj 

cyrus wondering why tj isnt sitting with his friends- and my god the moment tj looks up (its like a romcom breakup scene when the couple wants to get back together) 

girls trying to distract cyrus, fail and cyrus wants to do a walk by - the girls grab him

THE CUTEST DAMN SCENE EVER!! and im only a few seconds in 

“How’d you know I be here” - cyrus, i cant believe this beautiful creature doesnt realise tj pays attention when it comes to him and this is there spot 

tj has been stopping by the swings tryign to catch him. when cyrus wants to leave tj says no i will - CUTIES!! 

tj saying he didnt know the gun was goign to be there, he wouldnt have gone and he wouldnt have bought cyrus if he did 

cyrus smirk happy face to know his boy wouldnt have done him liek that 

tj saying anything good he has to ruin it - cyrus is good and everything in his eyes - cyrus’s face softening hearing that 

being cuties 

bickering and getting closer 

both of them being brutally honest about how the other can act

Tj only smiles when cyrus does, and my gosh body language and chemistry (close to disney confirming couple with them - or romantic scenes)

tj asking if he can stay - very impo giving cyrus the choice 

and then they swing

then lets cut to sitting by a pond/lake

when cyrus wants tj to know he didnt dob tj in 

i love tj’s serious listening face

tj - “I know i told them. Surprise did the right thing.” 

cyrus impressed and smiling - his boy has some redeeming qualities 

On one hand we could get jealous Jonah and love triangle.... one the other we get Jonah to spill some tea about TJ.... and even if he's wrong we'd get some growth.... and all of this is gonna be in the first Andi Mack episode of 20biteen... dare I say it's a win-win

This. Regardless of if he’s jealous or not we’re still either gonna get a) a continuation of what happened at the bar mitzvah b) more development in the anxiety storyline c) Jonah being defensive on Buffy’s behalf or d) Jonah being protective of Cyrus or e) (dare i say it) some actual character back story.

Despite what happens in 2x08, Jonah stans are winning and that’s the tea on that clink clink to 20biteen y’all

Regarding plans for the storytelling and development of Cyrus'es possible endgames

I think people need to stop assuming that a storyline was or wasn't the original idea based purely on their personal preference and little else, because in doing so they are completely ignoring the complexities of story writing and development X what the TPTB allow you to do. In case you're wondering, I'm referring to the seemingly eternal struggle in the Andi Mack fandom between Jyrus stans that claim their ship was the original endgame X Tyrus stans that claim Jyruses are delusional and their ship was meant to be from the very beggining.

If you use this as something you believe is a "winning argument", and start and engage in flame wars over this, let me tell you something that you may haven't considered before: right now, there's a 50/50 chance for each side of the argument to be right. Why do I say that? Beacause we have no idea what Terri Minsky and the AM writers considered doing or not!

Maybe Jyrus was a possibility but they chose to abandon it for a different storyline; maybe they were forced to drop this idea by TPTB at Disney; maybe Jonah was truly never considered as a romantic partner for Cyrus and they really always meant to introduce someone else for him in the form of TJ; maybe at first a love interest wasn't even considered for Cyrus. We don't know!

Honestly, I believe Terri and the writers at the very least considered making Jyrus canon at some point in development. Maybe she considered and discarded this idea before the show even properly began production, maybe it went as far as to be discussed in the writers room and eventually dropped for some reason.

Regardless, saying that it never crossed either Terri or the writers minds sounds like a stretch to me. Even then, that's just my opinion, and even though to me that sounds like the most logical way things potentially went, I also only have a 50/50 chance of being right, just like anyone else when giving an opinion on this topic.

And in case you're from some reason thinking that I might have something against either ship, let me be very clear and say that I have no problem with Jyrus or Tyrus, I think neither is bad and/or toxic, I want Cyrus to be happy and I don't think Tyrus is The Cowards Choice (TCC) or bad in any way, shape or form regardless of whatever if it was or wasn't the idea from the very start. In fact, I believe that Tyrus is a beautiful storyline that's being well developed and is having a very important impact, and it will most likely have even more so as it continues to be developed.

My point with all this is that not to talk about what I ship or don't, or what you ship or don't, it's that we'll have no idea of what was their plan at least until someone that worked on the show and/or had very close contact with Terri Minsky and the writers steps up and talks openly about this, wich is highly unlikely to happen before the show's over.

So let's all stop using the "it was/wasn't the plan from the start!" card, because that one is void of value right now. And unless a reliable source presents itself and give us a definitive answer, that card will be never have any worth in an argument, other than showing where on the AM shipping spectrum you are and starting flame wars.

If amber ain’t tj sister then how would he know about the look back? Okay so he didn’t know what the looked back meant until amber told him after he looked back at Cyrus in the season 2 final hear me out tj told amber he liked Cyrus or at least talked about him a lot to her and amber was getting the point that he liked him as more then a friend so she asked him did you look back at him? And he said yes and she said when you look back at someone that means you like them but not just as a friend so you looked back at Cyrus that means you like him more as a friend and then tj admit it and said yes he does like him as more then a friend idk I’m just guessing how that went between them I wished this was a real scene so we could of seen it but I’m sure it happen because I know tj and amber are siblings stan the kippen siblings✊🏻

Bring back andi Mack so we can get the kippen siblings

Also jonah was there to make cyrus realize that he likes boys not girls tj was cyrus love interest all along since they first met and has been even luke said that in a Interview after the andi mack final terri told him on his second day of season 2 that tj is gay and is gonna be cyrus love interest so basically jonah wasn't cyrus love interest he was just a crush that made cyrus realize his sexuality that he interested in boys not girls cyrus fell in love with tj yes he had a crush on him first but fell in love with him tj was ment to be his love interest and I love that so much I'm so emotional thinking about that omg🥺 I miss them so much

The only couple though that still do make me believe love is real is tyrus I miss them so much🥺

A andi Mack summer movie will be really awesome to see like the ghc on a summer vacation and all I’m not good at thinking about what the plot will be but since summer almost here seeing a andi Mack summer movie will be awesome😊

i wonder if josh misses playing cyrus luke playing tj peyton playing andi and sofia playing buffy i’m sure they all do which sucks that we never got another season so they could play them again but that doesn’t mean anything though i know josh is more in the politics thing and not really acting he hasn’t acted in a show or movie in a while i don’t think. luke is still kinda acting still hoping he will be in the american horror stories show peyton and sofia are still acting but what i’m saying is now recently old tv shows are getting reboots so maybe hopefully one day we will get a andi mack reboot now will josh luke peyton sofia agree to be in the reboot and play their characters again? idk i can’t speak for them and say yes but i don’t see why not i mean josh said before that if andi mack had a reboot or a spinoff he would join it in a heartbeat peyton has talked about joining a andi mack reboot or a spinoff if it would to happened luke liked post of fans saying they want a andi mack reboot and him to join it sofia don’t really talk about the show anymore or the cast but idk i know she still friends with asher and luke but i haven’t seen her interact with josh or peyton and if a andi mack reboot would to happen and sofia doesn’t want to join it either another actress has to play buffy or buffy won’t be in the reboot and that’s kinda will be disappointing because if buffy is in it but sofia can’t play her and a different actress will i don’t know how i will feel about that no one can’t play buffy as good as sofia it wouldn’t be the same but i do have faith that peyton josh and luke will portray their characters again idk i mean i’m not gonna say a andi mack reboot will happen one day but i’m hoping it will 😊🤞

i’m glad that joshua and luke got to play cyrus and tj but i’m mostly glad that they had luke to play tj and cyrus love interest because of luke and joshes real life friendship i mean that’s awesome that luke and josh are still friends to this day as they were during andi mack days most actors who plays onscreen couples grow apart and are not friends anymore but not josh and luke they have like a brotherly bond they are family i’m sure josh and luke will be best friends forever i’m glad they recently met up and got to hang out again after all of these years but that was in march though but still kinda recent of this year in a while the last time they got to hang out was in 2019 and not 2020 because of the pandemic now since covid is going down i hope they will hang out again soon and maybe hopefully the whole andi mack cast will reunite again have a reunion and hangout oh when that day does happen the andi mack fandom will freak out if you still in the fandom if not maybe you will still be freaking out

why are some of you saying tj and amber aren’t cannon siblings didn’t like and emily confirmed that they were because i remembered they confirmed it in interviews and on social media so yes they are cannon siblings

i had to correct someone on twitter because they headcannon tj kippen as bisexual i had to told them that he wasn’t bi he confirmed gay luke confirmed tj sexuality in a interview he did after the final so here is a reminder to everyone and to everyone that still headcannons tj as bisexual he not he is gay don’t erase his sexuality even when you write fics about him 

sofia and garren aren’t even friends anymore i don’t think so if you want to say that muffy is no longer together then that’s fine but don’t say that tyrus is no longer together josh and luke are still friends and they are still the biggest tyrus shipper to this day and still like tyrus related stuff on social media sofia and garren don’t do that anymore with muffy so if you want to say a andi mack fictional couple broke up go ahead and say muffy but the andi mack fictional couples that are still together is tyrus bexie aka bex and bowie and ambi yes ambi is still a thing and a ship😊

i think more people are shipping jonah and buffy more then muffy because when asher guest started in hsmts his character jack they compared jack and gina too buffy and jonah or it reminded it of them but i remembered that this ain’t the first time people shipped jonah and buffy we shipped them before and we thought that buffy had a crush on him when cyrus told buffy he didn’t have a crush on jonah anymore and buffy had a crush and we assumed it was jonah because cyrus showed a picture of jonah on a yearbook and he assumed she liked him but turned out she had a crush on walker but now people are shipping jonah and buffy again and i got to admit juffy isn’t bad ship i mean garren and sofia aren’t friends anymore i don’t think but asher and sofia are still friends and i think ships are way better when the actors are still friends in real life like tyrus with josh and luke still being friends soo i agree that juffy is a cute ship forget muffy😊

if anyone still ships muffy then that’s fine juffy or muffy doesn’t matter muffy is still cute all what i was saying is i think ships are better when the actors are still friends in real life when sofia and garren we’re friends they posted and liked a lot of muffy content but i don’t think her and garren interact anymore and they don’t like muffy content anymore but josh and luke are still friends and still like tyrus content to this day they are still the biggest tyrus shippers that’s why i’m still shipping tyrus and all and josh and luke still do also but i’m not being rude or disrespectful towards muffy if you still ship them then continue too but when asher and sofia had scenes together on hsmts people were getting jonah and buffy flashbacks and people were kinda shipping juffy again and i was just agreeing that it wasn’t a bad ship but ship whoever you want i’m not one of those people who are disrespectful and rude towards others who has a different ship then me i think ship wars is toxic and stupid if you don’t agree that they ship whoever they ship and you don’t ship them that’s your opinion but don’t be rude to them about it but juffy and muffy are cute ships i can say i ship both:)
