There was something oddly unique about this particular separation between you and Namjoon. It was far from what the two of you endured earlier, and it made you realize how the past 48 hours seemed to bring such a drastic shift in your life.
Not too long ago, you were adamant about staying in your home kingdom. You couldn’t bear to look your husband in the eye, disgusted by his previous actions that made you think he had no respect for you.
Now, you longed for him, in an explicit way you never fathomed yourself committing to. He had to leave so urgently᠆᠆he was here then gone like a brisk breeze. You, on the other hand, were like the naive one who decided to go out into the cold bare, without any sort of protective layers, to feel the breeze from head to toe.
Because even when that breeze passed, your lack of protection, the layers you shrugged off allowed you to shiver intensely, to feel him everywhere even when he wasn’t there.
Namjoon’s absence left you perplexed, more than you had been when you first came back home after leaving Goguryeo. Your exterior was changing drastically day by day, trembling and shaking in ways like no other. The tectonic plates of your heart created divergent boundaries that formed a stark gap down in the middle. When you thought you were leaving Goguryeo with venom, you felt the opposite bloom instead.
