Hot take: TFP's version of Starscream has digitigrade legs, high heels, wings, a head crest, and his vehicle mode is called a Fighting Falcon. Starscream is literally a bird. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Notice how, despite apparently being a guard for the Hall of Records, no one knew Smokescreen? No one recognized this kid, but he was already an Autobot. Even Optimus didn’t recognize him, despite being the leader of the Autobots. He should know his people, right? What ties Optimus to Smokescreen is their connection to Alpha Trion. All Smoke remembers is guarding the Hall and then getting knocked out. And recall how he spoke about Alpha Trion. Awfully casual about the guy, kinda like a son/grandson would be about their parent/grandparent. Not at all like how you’d refer to the Grand Archivist, let alone a Prime.

From what we know of Cybertronian relationships such as Skyquake and Dreadwing, it’s possible that Smokescreen is somehow related to Alpha Trion by means of spark sharing or sharing CNA with another. That would explain why Alpha Trion permitted Smoke to talk about him or even to him in a certain manner.

But that’s just a theory-

Hot take: In TFP Season 1 Episode 21 T.M.I they say “Come to papa,” “Run to mommy,” and “Say uncle!”

This implies that Cybertronians can have parents and thus, by extension, can procreate. This ALSO means that Cybertronians would need to have the necessary “facilities” to do that. In conclusion, Transformers can have s*x. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

TFP HC: Family Ties

Was just listening to the Robots soundtrack and was reminded of the train station scene. Immediately thought of Ratchet, for some reason, particularly his attachment to Rafael in TFP. 

Ratchet’s connection to Raf was built on the kid’s ability to exceed all of his expectations. Ratchet had well founded pride in his species for their accomplishments and strength, but very little of the same pride in humans. In fact, he downright hated them in the beginning. But Rafael’s talent and meekness cut right through his rough exterior. While the old bot is quick to a temper and preferred to be alone, he still looked to Rafael when he needed help and would even keep him around a lot to assist him. Eventually, Raf became like a son to him, with whom he passed on some of his knowledge to make him smarter and wiser.

And speaking of family, I have to bring up Bumblebee. Rafael is the youngest in his family and has constant pressure to ace school to the point where he doesn’t have many friends aside from Jack and Miko. He gets talked over and most likely doesn’t get the chance to express himself much, if at all. Then he met Bumblebee who, like him, is the youngest on his squad and has pressure to be  a good scout/warrior while standing in the shadow of someone like Optimus Prime. But also like him, he has a limited voice, figuratively and very literally. Despite being so physically different, they became kindred spirits to one another, finally being heard for once.

Then, of course, there’s Miko. Extremely rowdy, loud, and rambunctious Miko. She probably had an incredibly hard time fitting in anywhere, in both Japan and in Jasper. Miko even mentions that she probably scares her host parents. But of all the bots, the only ones who can really handle her nonsense are the Wreckers.

Bulkhead, her guardian, is big and kind of a dimwit sometimes. But when it comes to Miko, he’s virtually on point. Even when her mischief gets her in a lot of trouble, Bulk is usually there to help get her out and keep her safe. He’ll give her a mild scolding, leaving the harsher stuff to Arcee or Optimus. Regardless, he’s careful with her. She’s small but a handful, always keeping him on his toes. If Ratchet is like Raf’s father, Bulk is most definitely Miko’s uncle. The “I don’t know how to take care of you, but I’m willing to learn” kind of uncle.

Then there’s Wheeljack, the “I don’t really care about the rules, let’s have fun” uncle. He gets into the thick of the trouble just like Miko does. Of course, there is a limit to how much he can actually let her get into without Bulkhead or the others losing their minds over it. If he had it his way, Miko would be allowed to get into just as much scrap as him. Aside from Bulk, he’s probably the only one who really lets her express herself without berating her for getting mad or being too loud. And when she’s all done and tuckered out, he makes sure she gets back to the others safely. Reckless, but a good uncle nonetheless.

Finally, our boy Jack. Only son of a hardworking single mother, he’s a teenager with teenager problems. On the one hand, he has to deal with the classic high school drama of bullies and crushes, and on the other he has to contend with his mother’s protectiveness and occasional nagging. But now, alien warfare has somehow wormed it’s way into his life and he struggles with balancing the mundane of his life with the abnormalities of being an alien ambassador.

Floating in a similar boat is Arcee, who’s slowly learning to relax despite losses and her life threatening day to day. Being able to open up was hard before Jack showed up in her life, having only just lost Cliffjumper some time after the loss of Tailgate making it hard for her to say goodbye. Jack’s normality and clear headedness balances Arcee’s harsh and pragmatic nature fairly easily, the two getting along surprisingly well. Being so severely wounded emotionally, Jack’s prosaic routine was a good fit for her that gave her some relaxation for a change. These two made for excellent partners, and even better friends.

However, his relationship with Optimus Prime was different. The two have a ton more in common than they might have previously thought. Both were thrust into a new understanding of the world around them, and both were given a responsibility they did not feel at all prepared for. One became a divinely ordained Prime, the other a leader and keeper of the world’s most dangerous secrets (the identity of the Cybertronian race, Vector Sigma, the location of the Autobot base, etc.). Jack doesn’t think highly enough of himself to believe he’d be able to do anything on his own and quickly learns to fall back on the relationships he cultivated in such a short period of time. Even when facing down Megatron in what looked like the greatest opportunity to end the war, he followed Optimus’ example to not act rashly. I think that’s why Ratchet equated the kid to Optimus - both started out as nothing and nobody, only to become mighty in time with help from their teachers.

Arcee became his partner and Prime his mentor, all while being just a kid from Nowhere, Nevada. I think that’s what makes him a cool character, in my opinion. He’s essentially a challenge to the Chosen One archetype.

TF HC: Reproduction

Knowing his creative powers were waning, Primus made it possible that a very small number of Cybertronian “females” born of the Well of All Sparks were given the ability to create new life from their own body. Having that ability, which is basically a miniature Well of All Sparks, makes them very valuable to those who are aware of their existence. Think being similar to a fertile Krogan female from Mass Effect 3.

There are limitations to this. 

1) They can only produce one or two at a time.

2) They cannot transform while creating a “newspark.” This does include the use of their weaponry.

3) They are vulnerable at this time, but still capable of moving or running.

4) Their “womb” stays the same size. 

5) The “newspark” is built compact and small of malleable metals. They’re soft, but hearty and grow fast. Eventually, the metals completely solidify and this allows them to use their T-Cog without causing themselves permanent disfiguration.

Here’s the big one.

“Newsparks” do not require a father to provide genetic material. 

Though it is possible, it’s not done in the way humans would traditionally think reproduction is done. Cybertronians do not have genitalia and do not need it. However, they have their own energon specific to their bodies. Organic energon and the energon that grows out of the ground is not exactly the same thing. If this energon were to be given to the “females” to use, their body would repurpose it and create a “newspark” based on that raw genetic material aka the organic energon. 

How would they give birth then?

They don’t, at least, not in the way you think. The womb opens up from the front and the “newspark” can be removed. Like a c-section without being cut open... or a fridge.

“Newsparks” function a lot like babies for roughly the same amount of time as human infants. The only difference is they don’t pass waste or really eat. They do need to consume a very specific kind of energon.

What kind of energon do they need?

It’s supercharged with nanometals/nanomachines that help to build and solidify the cybermetals the “newsparks” are made of. This is only produced by womb-bearing “female” Cybertronians. 

* Note: I use “female” and “newsparks” loosely here because there are technically no female Cybertronians as we define them (then again, I don’t expect Hasbro to say there are sex defining markers in their CNA or something like that). That, and there are technically no Cybertronian babies, since newly formed Cybertronians are usually born fully grown adults, so newly forms Cybertronians that aren’t born fully grown could be considered newborn (or newsparks).

Hey hi how are you I wanna ask for a headcannon if you’re not busy how about transformers animated starscream x cybertronian s/o who loves him a lot and get insanily angry when someone insult him or mocked him

i made the reader a con as well bc it makes more sense and I think tfa starscream was soo silly

TFA Starscream x Cybertronian!Reader

your relationship very much consists of him being like "Tell me something I don't know...no really keep telling me how great I am" whenever you give him a compliment

although Starscream isn't the best at expressing his feeling or the most affectionate, he appreciates all the affection you give him in his own different ways.

He says it's a privilege for you to be holding him the way you do, for you to kiss him, and for you to be the only bot he'd share the throne with. On especially softer days, he expresses this in a much more romantic way I promise

he often rants about that actually, about how you and he will rule over the Decepticons and will be the perfect power-couple, much better than Megathot. He does this dramatically as he puts one arm around your shoulders and the other gestures out into the distance towards whatever vision he is imagining (he is confessing his love for you)

He loves how fierce you are whenever you defend him from other bots

Someone insults him? You're not letting that happen, you're taking your weapons out and will NOT hesitate to kill a bitch

"Yeah, that's my conjunx everyone." Is something he would think/say as you're beating a particularly pesky bot to a pulp in the distance

He actually enjoys having someone to protect him and defend him though, but it's not like he'll ever admit that to you...

After YEARS of being humiliated and insulted by superiors and bots-alike, its a relief to have someone like you

he does not hold you back btw, bro wants to see the person that mocked him pay for it

Knowing that you're willing to do this for him, whenever you happen to get insulted or something he will NOT hold back either. They will feel the wrath of Starscream

yo what if instead of less armor/softer protoform, sparklings had a Ton of kibble and armor to later grow into and spiky bits for protection

imagine baby drift with the same size finials. just. Huge finials on that lil bud

and on earth, cybertronians are /enamoured/ by echidna, armadillos, and porcupines

That would be hilarious, but would also make a lot of sense survival wise. All these sparklings popping out of the Well and from Hotspots really need the protection. I can imagine that the spiker looking they are, the less likely animals are to attack. So baby Drift with giant finials is sitting comfortably in the 'do not attack' category.

I can imagine that since these sparklings emerge with a crap ton of extra armor, their first ever alt mode is quite literally, a ball or some variation of one. Even the fliers start life as balls and roll for their lives when chased until they turn into SPIKY balls.

Just, packs of sparklings who've just begun to grow in their rather pointy kibble roaming Cybertron and tearing up the ground wherever they go. Small bundles of terror in the form of minicons and cassette carrier sparklings causing problems as a group. Dog sized sparklings so prickly and covered in spikes that they can and will get onto roads and stare down mecha who drive at them with a promise of pain in their optics. Fliers and future speedsters skidding over the landscape as apocalypses in their attempts to get from point A to point B as fast as physically possible while also tearing up everything with all their kibble.

These small creatures might as well be resident plows with how well they shred the ground in their attempts to get around. It's only made worse because they all have the inbuilt desire to get to the biggest collection of Cybertronians in range, so they can and will damage roads, housing, and everything in between in they are not caught before they can roam. A sparkling that gets rolling is very unlikely to stop until they get hungry, and even then, they are so spiky by that point that trying to grab one is the same as drop kicking oneself into a pack of cyber-hounds.

I can imagine whole agencies being devoted to collecting the balls of mayhem. Every speedster across Cybertron has to spend at least a few stellar cycles helping the Well Guardians rush after sparklings who roll away too quickly to be caught after their emergence. Every speedster carries at least a few scars from a prickly pack of sparklings getting a bit too excited to be near people or rather upset at the idea of behind captured.

Even after the terror tornados are brought into civilization, I can see these spikey creatures still causing trouble. They can't get alt-modes until they are older, so until then, rolling ball of destruction it is. Much of the tax money gathered for repair work is devoted to repairing roads that were obliterated by a rogue sparkling having a field day on some unsuspecting neighborhood.

Some are feral. Some are clingy and cute.

All are wheel puncturing menaces to society.

Uh could I get some headcanons for Tfa Optimus and a human reader who sees him as a brotherly figure?

TFA Optimus Prime

Surprised but also not really. One could say he’s like the older brother of some of his teammates.

The human took one look and went ‘yeah that's my older brother’

Optimus takes them out on drives to catch up, tell him about the school, and their favorite hobbies

Optimus always encourages them and wants the human to do their best to succeed so that means the occasional talk about grades and curriculum, even if  human is not as excited about the topic

Many speeches about the importance of education

As for hobbies, Optimus does not understand but he’s supportive to make up for it.

He will try out the hobby once to see if he likes it....occasionally it becomes his hobby too (more bonding moments)

If the human gets bullied, Optimus is real quick to lay down the law

He's the kind of older brother who doesn’t pick fights unless you push him (even then it's verbal) but he's there for the human, encouraging, and stands by them

*gives him adoption papers to sign and a pen* 🖊

If Optimus wanted to adopt me, I wouldn’t stop him.
