My new velvet ant. This is a smaller species, so not the big, furry ones that people are more aware of.

She has a more sandy substrate to mimic the area she was collected in and because most people keep them in more desert conditions.
Very cool little guy, she does not have a name yet:)
Bug tour part 2: My snails, millipedes, and velvet ant.
I will start with the millipedes

I have 2 N. americanus who live in a 6.5 gallon tank. They are named Solis and Amarus. Since I put them into their large tank, I've only really seen Amarus which makes me think Solis is molting.
Part two is my snails, they are both garden snails.

This is Fleur, my smaller garden snail. She spends most of her time burrowing so I do not see her as often.

This is Aster, my larger garden snail. She spends most of her time roaming around above the soil. She also laid a clutch of eggs and I froze all but 3 and I'm hoping the 3 hatch out.
Last critter I will show in this post is my velvet ant.

Her name is Crimson. Velvet ants are not actually ants but solitary wasps. She loves to nap in one specific crevice in her piece of wood (shown in image).
I will make one more part of my bug tour, featuring my ants.
