" annie? " she peeks around another tree, nearly pouting at the lack of annabeth, once again! she's become rather good at hiding, though when allie's seeking, the demigod always seems to win. another call of her name comes from pink petals, a half familiar camp song embracing her voice easily. " annie? annie bo bannie ... annie ... " it's only after she yells out whatever vocabulary word that annabeth has decided for the week to be their safe word that her friend appears, though allie always accepts her presence with a beaming smile and a warm hug. this time, however, she wants to win. it's a feeling that she's not so willing to accept, always more than happy to play. besides, winning was annabeth's thing. she was just better at it. nevertheless, allie skipped through the woods, searching for annabeth until she found herself near the edges of the woods, and the beginnings of camp. she feels the gentle, warm, and everlasting embrace of the trees recede as she crosses the line, stepping back to where the feeling of the grass tickling at her feet is more noticeable without all of the distractions of the forest. she spots annie near the steps of a cabin- probably hers, but she can never remember which is which -and lets out a squeal, rushing to her and throwing her arms around her so tight she almost knocks her over. " there you are! i've been looking for you for, like, ever! "
annabeth gives allie a lil bouquet of hand picked flowers and a kiss on the cheek as an early birthday present tehhehe
allie birfday 🥳🥳🥳, accepting always.
to have annabeth present her with flowers makes the tenderness in her chest bloom. her, a girl who has given annabeth flowers so many times. she can feel the life beating in them, even away from the ground. allie squeals and hugs her friend, squeezing her tight in her arms. “ oh, thank you, thank you annie! they’re so sweet! oh, come help me find a pot! i saw this really cute one earlier, come on! ” she takes annabeth’s hand and tugs her towards the craft cabin, nearly skipping with joy that makes her heart sing.
