What I Did Today - Tumblr Posts

Writing this during my last thirty minutes of work!
The past couple of days I've been battling a cough and a runny nose so I've been poudning down some dayquil every few hours. On top of that my migraines are coming back after about a month of freedom.
All these ailments will of course hit right when I want to make cookie boxes for work! I plan on making some biscotti, brownies, ginger snaps and more. I think I have to start tonight to be able to make them all in time for Thursday, so I think I will start with the biscotti tonight. While I'm baking I could also watch the rest of the Crown that released recently!

I also need to finish the laundry I started yesterday. Sadly, I'm probably going to need to rewash them.
Chores, work and other daily things don't really give me much time to express my thoughts so I thought to give it a shot through here. I'm toying with the idea of a public diary and visual expressions blog that I hope other might be able to relate to. I'd be happy to talk with anyone who might see this or anything going forward!

Writing this one in the morning so not a lot of todays activities will be recorded. Last night I completed my cookie boxes! I love baking, but unfortunately I'm not that social, so I just made four for my coworkers and two for my partner to take to work. I made some homemade peanut butter cookies (intended to be peanut butter blossoms but I didn't have enough Hershey kisses), cranberry/apricot/walnut biscotti dipped in dark chocolate, yules logs filled with biscoff cookies, cranberry, and walnuts, and some ginger snaps! I also made some chocolate popcorn (something my mom always made around the holidays) but it wouldn't fit in the boxes so I bagged them and taped them to the lids. I was able to hand them to two of my coworkers; one will be coming in later and the other will not be in today, but I can hand it over tomorrow.
This weekend/Christmas holiday I will be meeting my partner's paternal side of the family for the first time! I'm very excited to meet them. I've met the maternal side a couple times and they're so much fun! On the other hand, this will be my first Christmas away from my own family. Thankfully my dad has a partner he can spend the holiday with, but we will both be sad to be apart from one another. I will have to visit him next month when I can.
Since I've got a long trip ahead from Christmas Day, it'll give me a chance to put a big dent through the book I'm currently reading, Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr. I'm just over half way through and after flipping through the rest of the book, it looks like it'll be an easy read to completion.
Lots of things to do! I might not be active the next few days (as stated in my blog announcements), so take care of yourselves!

Merry Late Christmas my dear readers!
The too-short holiday weekend was great for me, and I hope it was great for you as well! I'm back in the office writing this, but I'm thinking of starting something new, just in time for the new year. I would like to build up my audience more first, but maybe starting up a study/reading/writing livestream or video uploads onto YouTube would be nice? Ideally I would go to a library and record, as I have two noisy pups and thin walls at my apartment. A coffee shop wouldn't be bad either, I'd just hate having to ask the workers and dealing with other customers. I would also have to buy the recording equipment and make time for video editing. What do you guys think?
To go into more detail about my holiday, I met my partner's paternal side of the family for the first time. They're definitely a high energy group, but I was able to keep up! Unfortunately I've had a cold (not COVID) since Friday, so I've had the sniffles, a raspy voice, and a bad cough the whole time. I was gifted a bottle of Crown from father in-law, which was definitely unexpected, but my best friend said that its best with Sprite or 7Up, so we'll see! Since this celebration was out of town from us (3hrs of driving plus 1.5hrs of EV charging), we ended up arriving home at midnight, so I'm exhausted!
How was your holiday? Be sure to let me know!

The days are getting colder in the American south. Never in my life did I think I would ever have to buy mittens, but here we are. This weekend we are supposed to have a major freeze so I will need to prepare for that.
Sleep has been difficult to come by these past few days. Sunday night I was "half asleep" the whole time and couldn't relax for some reason, and last night my partner had an emergency call and needed to go take care of the situation. Hopefully tonight I can get a good nights rest.
Yesterday I made some turkey fried rice for todays lunch so hopefully it tastes as great as it did when I sampled it!
Big news: I got an offer for (volunteer) writing for a new paper that's opening up near me. Since this new paper is very new, they don't have a budget at the moment, but later on hopefully so.
I finally finished reading Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr! t's probably taken me over a year to finally get through it but I did! My next book is Babel by RF Kuang, which I'm seeing some mixed reviews on but hopefully it's a much smoother read than CCL. Don't' get me wrong, I enjoyed the story and themes, however that book was very longwinded and could have definitely cut down 100-200 pages worth of writing and still accomplish the same goal.
I think that's all I have to talk about today. I will try to post more poems/quotes and reblog what I find interesting. Until next time!

So my work computer was down these past few days, so I had to use another work station surrounded by people, so that's why I've been MIA. Some new developements:
work seems to be going alright, although one of my coworkers has an obvious crush on me (yikes)
I'm going to see my family next weekend! Very excited for that
my partner is excelling in their field!
I'm now addicted to MonopolyGo
I got so much laundry done yesterday
Aside from that, not much. I think my time priority (for my personal time) needs to be about hitting the gym, aka only sing the treadmill while I watch YouTube.
I need to prepare for this winter freeze this weekend. I need to wash all our blankets, get a full tank of gas, some flash lights, and some water.
I don't know if I'll post anything until maybe Wednesday due to weather possibly keeping me away from work. Maybe a reblog here and there, but I hate the mobile version and my peronal laptop sucks so we'll see.

"I love all but one of the "how's" of Cloud Cuckoo Land. I love how interconnected the characters are. I love how all of these stories are driven by the original CCL. I love the point made that the same story can be learned from and appreciated over millenia, but it is so hard to love..."
Hi readers! I finally got around to reviewing Cloud Cuckoo Land! I spent a few hours trying my best to put all my thoughts down on this review and I hope you might be able to makes sense of it.

It's been about a week since the last time I wrote an entry. I made it through snowmageddon! Thankfully the weekend itself was not too bad but Monday and Tuesday were snow and icy! I didn't have to go into work those days which is a blessing since I have never driven in snow before and doubt I would make it out alive if I did. And since I had two days off this week, the remaining three days were not super busy. Especially today, I did a whole lot of nothing work related. Instead I wrote my book review on Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr (which you should totally read by the way).
After work I have to stop by home, pack up for the weekend, then go see my family for the first time since Thanksgiving! I'm very excited go back to my hometown and take a break from my current life. It'll also give my partner uninterrupted time to play video games LOL!
I came up with another idea for a mystery/romance/supernatural book. This one requires a lot less world building some hopefully I don't get too lost in it like the last one and actually produce! Even so, it's nice to know that now I've got two in the chamber and can work on them when I'd like - whether that's now or ten years from now.
Not much else to say really. I'm looking for a decent bookshelf to buy that's not overpriced or cheaply made. Seems like that's a deal breaker for most furniture manufacturers these days.
Anyway, I'll probably come back Monday and update y'all about my weekend. I know no one probably ever reads my posts, but acting like they do helps motivate myself for my personal writing projects.
Studied till 6:30 in the morning then woke up at 2 in the afternoon. Dragged myself out of the bed by 2:30, got refreshed and ate lunch (I guess?). Worked on the psychology practical file again with my mom as my subject. Rushed myself because I was late for Karate class. 5:35 got back home. Right now, laying in bed waiting for water to heat up for the nice and hot shower (as much as I love cold showers it's winter season and I don't want to fall sick in exam time).
I still have my practical file to complete and also have to write 3 projects. Submission day is tomorrow, hopefully will be able to complete it by tomorrow morning.
I'M FUCKING DYING...!!!
I've finally found time to write again. I have been really busy with all the work. Like I said in the last post, I have a practical file and three projects to complete. After the shower, I got a bit sleepy because my laptop was working so slowly. In the end, I decided that I would wait and work after dinner because my brother's computer would be free. I started working again and asked my mum for help. She said she could help me with the design and stuff, but I would have to write on my own, and I agreed. She stayed up with me into the early morning (approx. 5:30 in the morning) and then I asked her to go to sleep because she was in pain and feared that she would suffer from a migraine. She also agreed to it because she was going to take me to school to submit the files since she was afraid that, because of the lack of sleep, I would doze off in the cab. I work as fast as I can and finish everything at about 12:30 in the afternoon. Then I get ready, and it takes forever to find a cab. Almost 5 minutes before 2 (the deadline), we arrive at the school, and I submit my work. When I return, Mum tells me that I can eat and sleep for as long as I want. I Wake up to eat dinner at 9. And then take a seat to study for my exam. I Study until around 8:45 in the morning, eat breakfast, and sleep till 3 in the afternoon. Wake up, eat, and get ready for martial arts class. I came back, and now I am waiting for a warm shower.
I wrote this at that time and am posting it now. When is now? Read ahead:
After the shower today, I again felt sleepy. Not because of the laptop, I don't really know why. The same as yesterday, I woke up at around 9. And now at 11:50 pm, I am sitting down to study again. What I did in between 9 to 11:50? Ate dinner and read through news while talking about it to my brother. Life feels so monotonous nowadays. I feel like I'm doing nothing but studying, sleeping, and eating. But I need to keep going.
