i was rewatching tangled and i thought that yuu and crowley r kind of similar to mother gothel and rapunzel listen to me i beg

yuu is stuck in twst , so they have essentially no way out and if they fight back, crowley gives them a sort of “oh but im doing this and im so generous” thing yk, like mother gothel he’s saying “i do this because im so generous and i care” literally listen to mother knows best you’ll notice here’s some lyrics in particular

“i only bathed, and changed and nursed you, go ahead and leave me, i deserve it, let me die alone here” crowley acting like he’s given so much to yuu, giving them a rundown dorm to live in ect ect

”on your own you won’t survive,” yuu literally having no where else to go. crowley convincing them that they can’t leave nrc

and of course, “mother knows best.” after all, crowley is the head mage for a reason, he’s doing this all in your best interest. /sarc

this is more fanfic / headcanon territory but you could also headcanon that crowley just tells yuu out of context stuff about twst that makes it seem a lot scarier than it is , like say yuu tries to like go somewhere that isn’t school related and takes advantage of the fact they’ve been through a lot of overblots and would in my opinion, have an understandable fear of a certain degree

with this headcanon I’d like you to consider the “also large bugs! men with pointy teeth and STOP! No more you’ll just upset me!” line. i mean u kinda already have ppl with pointy teeth here crowley but anyway it’s a shine of light at his hypocrisy in this . Also the fact that mother gothel says it so much like crowley please
