WHY DOES THIS MAKE ME WANT TO CRY - Tumblr Posts

"Up Floor, Brick Was Still Hidden But His Expression Had Changed From Scared And Concerned To Heartbroken.

"Up floor, Brick was still hidden but his expression had changed from scared and concerned to heartbroken. Hearing his precious friend screaming and crying from despair, suffering from abuse was so painful, enough to hurt your soul. The tears flowed continuously, but he needed to be strong. Now it wasn't time to cry or trying to escape, but give Carrie all the love that she needed on that moment. Determinated, the dark haired drags himself out of bed and get up, trying to hide throught the house's shadows until arrive to closet, all of it without Margaret notice any signal from his presence. After going downstairs and making as little noise as possible, Brick pulls up to the closet door. Hiccups mixed with sniffles could be heard, even in a much more muffled sound than few minutes ago.

Brick slowly opens the door. Carrie was on her knees, praying to the statue of a saint. Moving closer to the girl's face, she kept tearing and sobbing. She seemed to try to keep repeating "Our Father", but mixed in with the crying. "Poor thing... " When Carrie turned her gaze to Brick, she is startled but the boy quickly closes the door and whispers quietly.

"Relax, sweetie. I'm here, okay?" Carrie nods her head in agreement. Brick sits in the corner from the closet and Carrie throws herself into his arms, hiding her face in his chest as she collapsed in tears. His shirt was soaked, but Brick didn't care. He hugs Carrie tightly and kisses her forehead, while stroking her hair lovingly. And so the friends remained in this position until Carrie calmed down."

And this was the quote from "Forever By Your Side", chapter 7. In this scene, after Carrie was punished to pray for forgiveness at closet, Brick heard all discussion, hidden under her bed. Heartbroken for his old friend' situation, Brick came and silently, opened the door and stayed with Carrie until she needed to calm duo the stress.
