NOT IN CONTROL ↝ stefan butler x reader

prompt ▹ The reader is in somewhat of same situation as stefan, having the feeling as if she is being controlled.
warnings ▹ not much, female!reader, cussing, implied drug use, lowercase intended, and some violence. (if not in this chapter, it will be in the next ones.)
this is part 1 | part 2
﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋
your alarm went off at 6:00 am, you gasped trying to catch your breath from the dream you just had. This happened often for the past month or so, you could never remember the dream fully. it was almost always something normal happening to you.. the only thing that stood out of place was that peoples faces were always blurred out and their voices slightly muffled so you could never pinpoint who it was in your dream.
wake up | sleep in.
you went to reach for the ‘snooze’ button but something stopped you from doing so. slowly you sit up and rub your face to wake up.
you wanted to sit there on your bed and try to think over your dream so you weren’t left in the dark yet again, but you felt like something was pushing you along to get moving and start your day. it seemed like you could never have time to yourself anymore. it was absolutely bonkers. was it too much to ask of yourself to just sit and be alone with your thoughts for a few fucking moments?
the annoying thought in the back of your head got the best of you when you got up, your feet hitting the cold floor as you made your way to the kitchen.
i could eat, i think i have enough milk for cereal today.
eat cereal | grab an apple
you went to reach for the milk in your fridge but you suddenly stopped, your eyebrows furrowed in confusion as you tried to push yourself to grab the milk. no matter how hard you tried you couldn’t reach it. you let out a frustrated breath and slammed the fridge shut, grabbing an apple as you passed by the table on your way to the bathroom.
what the FUCK is going on? can i not even enjoy some cereal?
your mind raced as you bit into the green apple, your face scrunched up at the taste. why did you even have that in your house? the flavor is horrid.
oh yeah, you felt like you needed to get it a day or two ago at the store. lovely.
you swallowed the chewed up piece and tossed the rest of the apple in the little trash can near the sink. without any hesitation you started to brush your teeth, then your hair.
you glanced down at your watch and saw that it read 6:30 am. already? you needed to get moving or else you’d be late again. walking to your closet you had two options, a simple long sleeved shirt with jeans or a short sleeved shirt, jeans, and a baggy orange jacket.
the jacket, i haven’t worn it in a while.
long sleeved | baggy jacket
you grabbed the jacket without any trouble, thank god.
after getting dressed the rest of the morning went smoothly, you put on a little bit of makeup before leaving the house and began your walk to work. it wasn’t far so it didn’t bother you, plus traffic is a pain.
you managed to walk in right at seven, five minutes early.
elevator | stairs
biting your bottom lip out of habit you walked into the elevator and pressed the floor number where you worked. you hands stuffed themselves into your jacket pockets as you looked down at the ground, your stomach growling in hunger from only having a bite of an apple this morning.
“h-hold the elevator!” a voice called out as the doors began to shut, quickly your foot shot out in the middle of the two doors, making them stop before they even came close to closing. the boy who seemed to be your age, perhaps two years older stepped in next to you and smiled shyly. he went to press a button but stopped, he must be going to the same floor as you.
odd.. usually choices like that take a little bit to happen.. that one seemed right away, normal even.
you got snapped out of your thoughts when the boy started to speak again, when you looked at him to pay attention you could feel your cheeks heat up a bit.
he’s cute.
“uh, thanks.. f-for holding the elevator i m-mean!” he stuttered, clearly nervous for many reasons. you couldn’t seem to tell why though. all you did was smile and nod softly, taking note or his eyes. definitely one of his many beautiful features.
“yeah, not a problem. i like your jacket by the way.” you smirked, seeing that you were wearing the same jacket, yet his was yellow. it fit him, the color.
he looked down quickly at his jacket as if he forgot he wore it today then looked back up at you with a toothy smile, it seemed genuine.
“thanks, i like yours too..” he spoke, looking like he wanted to say more but the elevator came to a stop as the doors started to open. he hesitated for a few seconds before gesturing for you to get off before him.
you grinned and stepped out only to see your boss waiting by the elevator. his face lit up when he saw the boy in the yellow jacket and went to shake his hand. “ah steven! how are you?” he greeted warmly and quite excitedly.
“uh— its stefan actually..” he replied, glancing back over to you for a moment before you realized you were already looking at him. (more like admiring)
you swallowed and quickly looked away. you muttered a to yourself about how dumb you may have looked while walking over to colin’s desk that was right across from yours. he seemed to be working on his newest game, Nohzdyve.
“how’s it going ritman? making yet another hit game?” you teased in a friendly manner before hopping into your own chair infant of your computer. colin looked up from his screen and simply gave a lazy thumbs up.
“it’s going alright L/N, now that you’ve found the bug it’s been much easier. i owe you one.” he spoke as he pushed up his glasses and finished typing a code needed for his game right as stefan and mr. boss man walked up to his desk.
“colin, this is stefan. he’s going to be showing me a demo for his new game. he’s also expressed his admiration for your games.” mr thakur spoke while putting his hand on a smiling stefan’s shoulder.
you simply rolled your eyes and smiled to yourself, typing away at your computer. what you did here was make the graphic art for most of the upcoming games made here, but you did also have a great talent for coding. colin often used your talent for help with his own games.
as you were working on the ideas for cover art that might be used for Nohzdyve, you got snapped back into reality.
“i couldn’t have done most of my games without the help of Y/N over here, well i could have, but not as quick.” colin grinned, gesturing towards you.
“ha ha ritman. very funny, piss off. but i’ve been somewhat acquainted with stefan. nice lad.” you smiled, snapping and giving him classic finger guns with your left hand.
stefan’s smile grew as his ears turned a light shade of pink. “th-thanks y/n.”
before you could say anything else colin let out a short laugh, almost a scoff. when you looked over at him with a questioning look he just smirked and turned in his chair to face thakur and stefan.
“y’know, i don’t think i need anymore assistance with my game, y/n has already done her part with my game. perhaps she can work with stefan if everything goes well.” colin suggested nonchalantly. wingman of the year.
agree | disagree
yes! YES! why aren’t i agreeing outloud? i don’t want to say no!
she clenched her jaw and held back the urge to say no to colin’s idea. she looked up at stefan and saw that his smile dropped and he looked somewhat confused.
you pushed with everything in you to get an answer that you liked out, for once it worked.
“i..i say yes, i’m free and i’d like to work with you.” you managed to get out, not seeming too forced.
after a few seconds he nodded, biting his nails what seemed to be out of habit. “sure, th-that’d be great..” he smiled, seeming suddenly calm.
“right then, should we get moving?” colin interrupted as he stood up and patted stefan’s shoulder, practically marking the other two men move to the office.
stare at stefan | get to work
y/n watched as they left, before the door closed she couldn’t take her eyes off of stefan.

DUMB MARKS ↝ colin ritman x reader

prompt ↝ the reader has her soulmark like everyone else, one part is meant to represent her while the other part is meant to represent her soulmate. the reader chooses to wear long sleeves whenever they can, not sure if they are ready to meet her soulmate.
warnings ↝ cussing, fem!reader, and that’s it i think hehe

you tugged at your sleeve of the yellow hoodie you wore often. your head was pounding from the stressful day at work and at home. your roommate was being a jerk and so were your co workers.
“late coffee, get it while it’s hot!” you announced to the remaining people at the work place, it was ten pm after all. your bedtime was starting in thirty minutes. sleep is important!
after handing four people their coffee you moved over to colin ritman, easily one of your favorites here.
“coffee for the bleach blonde boy, don’t spill it.” you winked teasingly. there was a close call the last time he was around his computer with coffee in his hand.
“yeah yeah, piss off girlie.” he deadpanned, typing a few times before stopping and facing you.
“why is it that you always serve the coffee but you never have any for yourself?” he questioned, your eyes flickered down to his left wrist where a bandage covered it. his soulmark.
“that’s an odd thing to point out, but i suppose you’re right. coffee is for the weak.” you spoke, a smirk tugging at your lips. even with the joking and conversations you had with colin you always thought about the bandage wrap around his wrist.
“what’s up with the bandage?” you asked, playing with your necklace without much thought, nervous habit.
“oh this old thing? as you probably thought, it’s my soulmark. i’m not sure if i’m ready to meet my one and only yet.” he scoffed, leaning back in his chair and looking at your covered wrist. “what about you? already found your true love?” he questioned, pushing up his glasses as he spoke.
you only laughed at the last bit, shaking your head and leaning against his desk. “nope, same reason as you. i don’t want to end up with some bloke i know nothing about.” your hands removed themselves from your mouth to pull down your sleeve covering your own mark.
“find anyone close yet?” he asked, running his hand though his hair. he had decided to stop working for the day since he had already gone over the usual limit for himself.
what ‘close’ meant with soulmates and the marks was when you would share one of the two marks in common. but it was only meant to be if both of you had the exact same ones.
you had pac man and a necklace that resembled the one that hung around your neck since you were a child.
“yeah actually, i’ve met two other people with pac man that looked identical to mine, yet it never matched up with the second mark.
“no shit? i have pac man too. they are probably just some dumb marks anyway, so who cares?” he chuckled, grabbing the end of his bandage and un wrapping it. he set the bandage down on his lap and looked at his marks, not able for you to see though. when he looked at his own marks it was as if a wave of realization hit him.
“come closer.” he mumbled, putting his left arm down where his mark stained his skin, out of your sight. you raised an eyebrow and leaned closer to him as he asked. his right hand reached up and lightly grabbed your necklace. out of your control you cheeks heated up.
“this wouldn’t have anything to do with your mark, would it?” he asked slowly, tearing his eyes away from the necklace to meet yours.
you swallowed and licked your bottom lip before nodding lightly. his fingers still holding your necklace. “yeah, it’s.. it’s my other mark.” you replied in a soft voice, never had you ever been this close to him. it wasn’t a problem though, not at all.
you rolled up your sleeve to show your mark to colin, once he saw it his face reminded still. the only thing that moved was his left arm so he could show you his marks.
they matched yours. they were identical.
“at least i know you.” you spoke, a smile forming on your face. you looked up to see his reaction, when he was grinning like an idiot you were surprised to say the least.
“i’m definitely okay with this, i guess i was ready to find you.” he spoke as you stood back just as you were before he asked you to come closer.
“so, i guess it’s time to ask.. you wanna go out sometime? somewhere other than work.” you asked, shoving your hands into your back pockets.
“i know just the place.”

I had such a lovely dream when I went to sleep today (don’t mind me just being my nocturnal self)
I was back at my college campus, starting a new semester where I could actually attend classes in person and not online. And guess who’s there?
None other than mister Will Poulter himself (but his name was Mark apparently...I love Midsommer too much lol). Also, Eef (Crankgameplays) was also there with Mika (his ex gf who is literally the sweetest). ALL THREE OF THEM WERE SO NICE TO ME! UWU
I love when my brain doesn’t try to kill me in my subconscious like it normally does in my dreams.
Kay, just something real quick, for all those Will Poulter stans out there, what color do you think his eyes are??? The interwebs say blue, but they don’t look blue to me?!?!?!? Uhhhh, they look green and I think they’re green! In some pics they def look blue, but most of the time they look green to me. Am I just colorblind?!?!?
Out of all the perfect days, this one you’ll remember most.
Ha ha, totally didn’t write this about a certain 6′3 handsome boy with amazing eyebrows, haha, couldn’t be me...i’m embarrassed.🤡

~~~~~~~~~~
For the longest time, you didn't know if you would have a favorite day over all the other days you felt the happiest. But today has got to be one of those days you'd cherish, maybe even the last thing you'd remember on your deathbed.
You'd remember how beautiful the day was, how the sun shined through the windows at that perfect angle, giving the room an orange glow.
You normally preferred the rainy days, but with the cooler air being a rare exception with the sun shining brightly, you couldn't help but appreciate it more. Especially with your favorite person.
Sitting across from you was your love.
You admired the way the sunlight accentuated his features, almost entrancing you into looking over every detail. The way his golden locks shined, his freckles that littered his face almost reflective in the light. The adorable way his tongue was slightly placed in between his teeth as he focused on the book he was reading. He looked up from the novel, the corners of his eyes crinkling when he smiled at you. His eyes were so full of love, pure and innocent.
He ran his hand up and down your leg slowly, keeping a now sensual eye contact.
Normally, you'd be self conscious about your legs going even one day unshaven, but he made you feel so comfortable in your own skin, a feat that no one else in your life could even come close to accomplishing.
I'd love you even if you looked like the wolfman, he would say, I'd still want to kiss every part of your body until you were riddled with goosebumps. The type that would make you lightheaded, the ones only I can give you.
You would laugh at his silliness, then feel a sense of lust would resonate within you.
You felt that way now, the simple caring touch making you long for him.
You loved the way his eyes turned dark with lust, almost eyeing you up like a predator stalking its prey. You lowered yourself yourself down on the reading nook you both were sitting on, relinquishing all control over to him as he crawled up your body, planting light kisses on exposed skin.
The fluttering feeling of his lips travelling their way up to yours made you grin, giving a hum of approval of what he was doing.
His eyes finally met yours. His green eyes with flecks of blue were hungry, hungry for you.
You loved the feeling of his hands on you, all over your body like he couldn’t get enough of you. He kissed you with such fervor, like you were his only source of oxygen, and you gladly gave him all he wanted. The speed at which he removed your clothes made your head spin. He was good at it, too good.
You were wet already, he was good at that too; making you so full of desire that it dripped out of you. He whispered filthy things in your ear, and you loved it. Normally, he’s the type of person who’d never want to degrade or humiliate anyone in any situation. It took a lot of convincing that it was something that helped you get off. Then he started to dive in full force on the dirty talk, almost giving you whiplash, but it was welcomed.
He was strong, throwing you in your shared bed with ease, that was something you enjoyed well too.
He definitely kept his word, giving you goosebumps as he trailed kisses down to your waist. The feeling of his plump lips wrapping around your clit with a strong suction was heavenly, there was nothing like it. How was this man so good at everything?
The both of you were covered in a thin sheet of sweat, causing the two of you to stick together like glue, making the feeling of him thrusting inside you all the more pleasurable, to be so close to him. He always made sure you both came together, he always thought it was like your souls merged into one as you both climaxed. You thought it was silly at first, his reasoning, but you soon found it was amazing to come together.
Laying next to him, your head resting on his chest and tracing shapes onto his soft skin while he ran his hand up and down you arm soothingly.
You looked up at him, his eyes closed and a content smile on his face. You loved him so much.
He was so beautiful...
...and he was yours.
Sorry it took awhile, had to juggle school and some drama, but here it it finally lol
~~~~~~~~~~
It wasn't often that Will got to go to a Broadway show.
After weeks and weeks of his best friend, Collar, going on and on about how amazing this play he recently discovered was, Will immediately jumped at the chance of seeing the show with him when he found out that they'd be in his hometown that week.
Will thought his ribs would be crushed from how tightly Collar hugged him. Will was lucky enough to get really good seats before they were sold out.
It was the first night that the show was in London, so they weren't surprised to see that the place was packed, but that definitely didn't lessen the excitement. "I'm so excited for this." Will expressed.
"Oh, you're gonna love it, mate." Collar replied.
Taking their seats, it was only a matter of minutes until the lights started to dim and a loud overhead voice explaining the show was about to begin and repeating how no photography or video was allowed and all that.
Will and Collar were pretty much beaming with excitement, the latter bouncing his leg up and down with anticipation.
The two friends were immediately entranced when the ensemble cast walked onstage and performed the first song, applauding along with the rest of the audience when it ended.
Main characters were quickly introduced, and Will was surprised at how much he was enjoying the show so far, but he should've known Collar had the best tastes.
A new character was introduced, and Will could not take his eyes off them. The voice that emitted from this person was almost otherworldly, he'd never thought someone could sing so well. Will could've easily said that they were beautiful as well. Maybe it was the way the spotlights shined on them, making their aura angelic in a way. They seemed to exude confidence, that in itself was so damn attractive to him.
Every time this person went onstage, Will naturally focused in on them, he didn't even realize until after the show. "I know that look," Collar smirked, "which one was it?"
Will blushed. "I don't know what you mean..."
"Mate, don't bullshit me." He laughed.
Will rolled his eyes, knowing he couldn't lie to his best friend. "The one who sang that solo, before the intermission."
Collar's eyes lit up in clarity. "Oh, yeah! They were awesome. The cast usually meets fans after the show in the lobby, you should try to meet them!"
Will quickly shook his head. "No, no, no, that's okay."
"Nah, come on!" Collar grabbed Will's wrist, dragging him to the lobby with a ridiculous amount of force.
Just as Collar said, the whole main cast was lined up behind a red velvety rope, all smiling, signing autographs and taking pictures with fans. Will instantly spotted you, grinning widely while talking to a fan. You looked like the friendliest person on the planet. Obviously, Will didn't know if you were for sure, but he had a gut feeling.
You felt someone staring at you, well, hundreds of people have been staring at you every other night for the past two months now, but you were proved right when you caught the eye of a man across the room.
It took you a bit of recall, but you eventually recognized him as Will Poulter. You hadn't watched his recent stuff as you were so busy, but he was an actor you had respect and admiration for. He looked like he had taken an interest in you, which you never thought would be possible. You gave him a warm smile, and you could see his bashful gaze and blush.
"Dude, you gonna talk to them or?" Collar asked impatiently. "They just smiled at you, that's gotta be an invitation, man."
Will wanted to, so badly, but you looked busy enough as it was. "Not tonight, I'm pretty knackered if I'm being honest." Collar gave him an annoyed look, but he wasn't going to pressure him.
You saw Will leave the theatre from the corner of your eye, and you refrained from frowning. You really thought he'd come talk to you, but in a way you were thankful, you probably would've embarrassed yourself in some way. But still, you were a bit disappointed, but you still smiled when you met people who enjoyed the show.
Will pretty much slapped himself for not even trying to talk to you, so he did something rather impulsive; he bought another ticket to your show. "You haven't even met them, and you're already whipped!" Collar laughed loudly.
"Please, don't start." Will whined.
Seeing Will again at the show, in the orchestra seats, almost made you blush onstage. He was there again? Your gut told you he was there because of you, but your logic told you that you were being conceited. Maybe he just was so moved by the performances that he had to see the show again.
You felt his eyes trained on you the entire show.
After the show, you were in your dressing room, scrubbing off the caked on stage makeup that you had to wear every performance. Until your friend and co-worker barged in unannounced. "Knock, for the love of god, knock!" You snapped.
"I did!" Your friend replied, not very convincingly you might add. "Did you see that hot blonde eyeing you tonight?"
You furrowed your brows. "How'd you even see that?"
"I know when someone's eying MY friend!" They said, emphasizing the 'my'. "It's a superpower I have."
"Yeah, well, that guy was here yesterday. He must love the show a lot if he came back a second time in a row." You said while finishing taking off the makeup.
Your friend smirked. "Or maybe…he loved your performance?"
You rolled your eyes. "Stop, you'll get my hopes up."
"Well, I guess we'll see when you go out in the lobby."
You loved meeting people who enjoyed the show, especially your performances. Praise felt nice, but what felt even nicer was the fact you saw Will awkwardly making his way to the area were the cast was, shaking hands and congratulating your fellow performers.
Slowly but surely, he made his way to you with a grin. Damn, that grin could probably cure every illness in the universe, you thought. "Hello there, loved your performance!" He praised.
"Thanks! You were at the show last night too, weren't you? Or are my eyes just playing tricks on me?" You giggled.
Will scratched the back of his neck nervously. "Uh, yeah, actually I was." He chuckled.
"Dang, you must really love the show!" You chuckled when he couldn't come up with a reply. "I'm Y/N." You stretched your hand out to shake his.
"Will." He smiled.
"Oh, I know actually! I know some of your work."
Will blinked in shock, but smiled nervously. "Oh, wow, awesome! I'd imagine doing this type of thing, traveling, how would you even find the time to relax and watch films?"
"Oh, trust me, we barely even have time to relax much less watch movies. But I remember seeing you in Son of Rambow, you were a pretty cute kid." You smiled.
Will chuckled bashfully. "That's very kind. I'd hope I'm still as cute as I was when I was little."
"You definitely are." You didn't exactly mean to sound all seductive like, but it just came out that way. You found yourself liking the way it made all of Will's blood rush to his cheeks.
"Oh, thank you." He stuttered, looking around nervously. "Well, it seems like loads of people want to meet you so, I'll get going."
Your mouth opened and closed like a fish, willing yourself to tell him to stay, but all that came out was a strangled sigh. Damn it, you must've scared him off…
"They said that to you?!" Collar shouted, listening intently to Will about the encounter with you as soon as he got to his apartment. "They said you were cute. Mate, please, tell me you asked them out."
Will cringed, biting his lip and looking up to his friend in shame. "I got nervous…"
"That was your opening, man!"
"I know, I know. Just gonna have to have a go at it again…" He said, pulling out his phone with another sigh.
"Tell me your not."
"Too late." Will showed his phone screen to reveal a newly purchased ticket to the show…again.
"You're burning a hole in your wallet."
"Yeah, yeah, I know." But he hopes it'll be worth it. "Third times a charm..."
Another night, another show, and you felt yourself having a little bit of low spirits, until your friend pulled you by the wrist to the side stage. "What're you…?"
"Look who's here, again!" Your friend whisper yelled, pulling aside the stage curtain to reveal a tiny bit of the audience waiting for the show to start. "Look there!" They pointed.
"No way…"
Will was there in the audience again!
"He must really want that ass!" Your friend guffawed, making you lightly slap their arm.
You couldn't help but blush, it was so sweet. But you thought back to the night before, he was so nervous and finicky. You realized you had to make the first move, no flirting or else he'd startle like a baby deer.
Oh boy, your nature was not able to NOT flirt. You might've thrown a couple winks to Will onstage, maybe thrown a couple smirks when you were able to. Yeah, the no flirting thing wasn't really working…
But you thought maybe it made him a bit more comfortable walking up to you easier after the show. "Damn, you have an obsession with theatre, huh?" You teased.
Will chuckled. "Yeah, I must."
"So, why are you actually coming here? Three times in a row must be hurting your bank account."
Will stayed silent for a moment, just staring into your eyes with a blush slowly rising to his cheeks. "I, uh…" He paused, "I just really love the show." He instantly cringed internally. "I should go."
"No!" You shouted accidently, startling him slightly. "Sorry, uh, why don't you stay? Our night ends in half an hour. If you don't mind, I'd love to talk to you."
Will instantly felt relieved, in a way. He nodded excitingly, causing you to grin.
"Great! I'll meet you out the front doors, okay?"
Quickly going to your dressing room, your friend hugged you tightly from behind you. "Dude, finally! I never thought I'd see the day you'd make a first move."
"Wasn't easy. Why can't extroverts act like extroverts?" You chuckled, looking over yourself in the mirror.
"You're generalizing."
"I gotta stop doing that. But anyway, I'll be back soon, hopefully he won't run off."
"Good luck." They blew a kiss.
Thankfully, Will was still waiting outside the theatre, sitting on the steps, scrolling through his phone. "Hey!" You greeted. "Sorry if I took awhile."
Will smiled, standing up from the steps. "It's totally fine."
"So, forgive me if I'm wrong, but I have a hard time believing you came here three times in a row, wasting money, just because you enjoyed the show a lot."
Will's smile dropped, looking to the ground. "Uh…you're not wrong."
"Last night, you left so quickly. Why?"
Will let out a sigh. "I got…scared, I guess." Well, he admitted that, why not admit more? "You just seem so confident, I was intimidated. But I did want to talk to you more, just didn't have the guts to, I suppose."
Another smile graced your face happily. "Well, the show is still in town for a few days, then our tour is over. I'd love to go out for a coffee or tea sometime, if you're available."
Will's eyes lit up, his grin coming back and letting out a thankful chuckle. "Yes! Yeah, I'd love to!"
"Here's my number, call me and we'll work out the details."
"Wow…" He smiled.
"What?" You asked with a giggle.
"That was a lot easier than I thought it would be."

Honestly, you didn't even think that you'd get it, a friend of yours, whom you thought was incredibly talented, auditioning for the same role.
But here you were, trying not to hyperventilate as your agent told you that you got the job over the phone. That same friend was with you when you got the news, and you almost squeezed them to death with how excited you were.
"If anyone can act this role better then me, it's definitely you." Your friend praised, causing you to scoff of your oncoming blush.
"Hey, I was rooting for you too, if I didn't get it." You chuckled.
"Well?"
"Well what?"
"I know you want to call him."
Your face flushed a deep crimson, knowing exactly who your friend was talking about.
You met Will a few years ago, having the same mutual friend that also happened to be in the entertainment pool. You had always admired his work and talent, hoping to meet him one day. In the back of your mind, you had an inkling that you'd meet him eventually, being in the same field. You just didn't know that it would be so early in your career.
You and Will instantly clicked, having similar morals and opinions and such. Plus, you both wore your heart of your sleeve, so it wasn't that surprising when he quickly become your closest friend.
But, over the years, you noticed that your heart bounded more often whenever you hung out with him. It could've just been because you cared about him deeply. But then, the feeling of aching in your chest grew. You found your heart racing whenever you saw him smile, skipping a beat whenever that precious smile was aimed at you especially.
You wore your heart on your sleeve most of the time, but this feeling you realized was love, that, you kept hidden.
Will being your best friend, you usually would talk to him about anything. But you obviously couldn't talk to your best friend about your troubles if those troubles were caused by him. So, you went to another friend that you could trust.
They wanted you to tell him, claiming that they're so sure that Will would feel the same. But it was just too scary to take that risk. So, you stayed silent about your feelings, hoping they'd go away eventually. But surprise, surprise; they didn't. It probably didn't help that you visited with Will every chance you got, but you knew you couldn't avoid him, he truly hadn't do anything wrong and you didn't want him to think he did.
The problem you faced with this new job is that you had to fly to a different country to film, for months, away from Will. And you didn't know if you could do that without him knowing how you felt about him. Maybe if you told him and he didn't reciprocate, you could just stay in the country you're filming in...for the rest of your life.
"Well," Your friend continued, "you gonna tell him or what?"
You sighed. "I don't know if I can just yet. You know how long this filming process will be...and how far away."
"What, so, you're just gonna leave without telling him anything?"
"No!" You quickly replied, "I'm just," You sighed, "I think I want to tell him before I leave."
Your friend bit their lip in order to keep themselves from grinning. "Really?" They sang, holding their clutched hands to their cheek while swaying dreamily.
You rolled your eyes. "Yes, don't be so weird about it."
"But, you've liked him for so long now. It's been long overdue. I'm just happy you're finally gonna go through with it."
"Well, I haven't exactly decided yet. I'm still trying to figure out if I should tell him before I leave."
Your friend furrowed their brows. "Why wouldn't you just do it now?"
"Cause, if he rejects me, then at least I won't have to be in the same country as him. I'll be able to die inside in peace." Your friend slapped your shoulder, hard. "Ow! What the hell was that for, huh?"
"Do you think I'm stupid? Don't answer that. Do you think I'm blind?" They gestured. "I've been the third wheel too many times not to notice how he looks at you. He looks like a puppy dog, Y/N." They said, causing you to laugh at their description. "I'm serious. He looks so smitten."
You shrugged, smiling sadly. "I don't know..."
"I swear, people can never tell if someone likes them without the whole world having to tell them first. It's very taxing."
"I'm sure it is."
"Seriously, Y/N, trust me. He feels the same, I bet you 50 bucks."
"Do you even have 50 bucks?"
"...no, but that's besides the point. I really think you should tell him, before you leave at least."
You sighed heavily, "Yeah, you're right. I'm just scared."
"Hey, don't worry. But if he does reject you, I'll kick his ass." You chuckled a little, your friend's humor calming your nerves slightly.
You had made your decision, you just hoped you wouldn't chicken out, you couldn't. But on the way over to Will's house, you felt your hands shaking while holding onto the car wheel. You tried to take deep breaths, but you always found that it never helped soothe your anxiety, just making you more hyperaware of your nervousness. You prayed you didn't embarrass yourself.
Upon arriving at his place, you just sat in your vehicle for a moment, struggling to gather enough courage just to turn off the engine.
This is so stupid, you thought, why am I so scared? What's the worst that could happen?
Thinking like this helped your nerves a bit, faking it till you make it, you supposed. Before you even gave yourself the time to think too hard about it, you forced yourself out of the car and walked to his front door. Then holding up your clutched fist to knock on his door is when you faltered, the small of your back creating a thin sheet of nervous cold sweat that made you feel icky on top of being extremely nervous.
Goddamn it...
You forced yourself to knock, planting your feet firmly on the ground and willing yourself not to run back to your car as you heard the door start to unlock.
The door opened to reveal the handsome face of your best friend, his smile beaming when he saw you. "Y/N, hi!" He quickly leaned forward to wrap his arms around you.
You chuckled breathlessly as you mirrored his actions. "Hey." You smile. "Is this a bad time?"
"No, no! You're good, I'm not busy or anything. Come in, come in!" He gestured to the inside of his home. "What're you doing here?" He asked as he closed the door, turning to face you still wearing that big goofy grin.
You cleared your throat, deciding to start off with what you thought would be the easier topic. "Well, I have some news..."
"Good or bad?"
"Uh, I guess it depends on how you take it."
"Oh goodness, you're making me nervous." He chuckled.
"Sorry, didn't mean to do that." You said, taking a seat on his couch, patting the seat beside you, inviting him to sit beside you. "So, remember that role I auditioned for a couple weeks ago?"
"I do."
You couldn't help the excited smile that played at the corners of your mouth, the job you worked hard to get actually being given to you trumped the nervousness you felt in Will's presence. "I got the role." You said simply, your smile turning into a full on grin.
"That's amazing!" Will quickly voiced, bringing you into another tight hug in congratulations. "I knew you'd get it, how could you not?"
You blushed. "Thank you."
"Really proud of you, Y/N. When are you leaving to film?"
"In a week actually..." You chuckled weakly.
"Oh...how long will you been gone?"
You bit your lip. "Six months, at least."
Your heart could've shattered into a million pieces when you saw Will's face fall immediately, his gaze falling to the floor for a beat, but quickly plastered on a fake smile. "Cool. I'm sure it'll be fun."
"Yeah..." You twiddled your thumbs nervously.
"Besides all that great news, I feel like that's not all you came to tell me? I mean, this could've been a phone call, ha ha."
You smiled sadly, he knows me too well.
"Yeah, you're right." And just like that, all your nerves came back full force, and you let out a shaky breath. "Damn it, I guess I should just come out and say it."
"Wha...?"
"I'm fucking nervous, but I've been wanting to tell you this for a while now; I like you, okay? I really fuckin' like you and I just wanted to tell you, before I leave." You immediately cringed. You've always been somewhat eloquent in how you speak, but it seemed all knowledge of how to talk like a normal human being went out the window.
You risked a glace at Will, seeing his face flushed red and a small smile on his lips. You sighed. "I'm sorry." You said, just above a whisper.
"No, I'm sorry." He quickly replied. "It's just, I rarely have been in these types of situations before."
You tried to keep your tears at bay, not wanting to embarrass yourself even further. "And what situation would that be?" You asked, trying to keep your voice from wavering.
Another small smile graced Will's lips before he spoke, "Where the person I fancy actually fancies me back."
And just like that, all your nervousness about confessing your fondness of your best friend seemed to fade away at that simple statement. All words seemed to die in your mouth as you tried to speak, you had no idea what to say nor how to say them. Your entire being just seemed to be filled with pure happiness as Will looked into your eyes with the same fondness that you must've had for him in yours.
Despite being so overjoyed, you had to ask, "Really?" Could this be a dream? It felt too amazing to be real, you must've got too far in your imagination, surely.
"I've liked you for so long now." Will said, completely crushing any doubts you had that you might've been dreaming. "I wanted to tell you too, but...I was afraid. I didn't want our friendship to end, I cherished it too much."
You chuckled breathlessly. "I felt the exact same way."
Will's smile dropped, his gaze on your dropping. "But you're leaving soon..." He voiced softly, causing you to give him a sad smile. "I wished I told you sooner."
"Now that I know how you feel, I wish I did too. But, I am going to come back, it'll just take some time."
You felt your breath hitch when Will brought a hand up to cup your jaw, his thumb softly running over your bottom lip, his eyes still having a sad expression in them as he admired your face. "And now that I know how you feel...being away from you is gonna be so hard." He laughed weakly, a bitterness in his tone not going unnoticed by you.
"Hey-"
Your words died in your throat as Will quickly leaned in, cupping your face so gently with both of his hands that it almost tickled, as he placed his lips over yours softly. Just as quickly as he kissed you, he pulled back slightly, but you could still feel his presence, his lips still ghosting over yours. "I'm sorry...I got a bit impatient."
You chuckled, wrapping your arms around his shoulders as you pulled him back for another kiss, but you couldn't help be a bit more passionate.
You felt Will smile into the kiss as you tangled your fingers in his dirty blonde hair, trying to be as close to him as humanly possible, but you found it still wasn't enough. Pulling his bottom lip in between your teeth, biting down slightly, the breathy moan that escaped from his mouth made you hungry to hear more.
It felt as your body couldn't help itself as you threw one of your legs over his lap, tugging on his hair as you deepened the already heated kiss. The feeling of Will's hands running up your back underneath your shirt made you freeze, pulling away. "I want this, but I haven't even asked if you do. I'm sorry."
Will grinned seductively, grabbing your hips and forcing them to roll against him, the friction causing you to gasp silently. "Darling, I've wanted this for such a long time."
You mirrored his grin, leaning forward to connect your lips to his once again, not worrying about having to hold anything back now, repeating the action of rolling your hips against him. Will let out another breathy moan as your consistent friction caused him to harden, the lust for you only growing stronger.
Will finally moved to stand up, taking you in his arms and wrapping your legs around his waist, carrying you to his bedroom.
Will gently laid you down on his soft bed, standing back up to remove his shirt hastily. He leaned back down, kissing your lips then trailing down your jaw until he reached your neck, sucking and softly biting down on the sensitive flesh, eliciting the first moan to escape your lips.
Hearing you moan awakened something in Will, knowing that he could cause such heavenly sounds to escape you made him trail more kisses down your body. Quickly removing your shirt, he ran his hands over your chest, taking one of your nipples into his mouth while the other was getting pinched and pulled by his hand. You let out another moan as he bit and licked your sensitive nipples, him venturing even lower down your body, stopping at the waistline of your pants.
"You're so amazing." Will whispered, his eyes so full of emotion that it almost made you tear up at seeing such a sight.
Will locked eyes with yours as he unbuttoned your jeans, slowly inching them off your legs along with your underwear, the glistening of your arousement causing his eyes to darken with lust. He carefully placed himself in between your legs, trailing more sloppy kisses towards the apex of your thighs.
You let out a mewl as Will's warm breath hit your core that was already throbbing with anticipation, the lust feeling so overwhelming that you could hardly wait for Will to do something about it.
Finally, Will's mouth connected with your sex, his tongue swirling around your aching arousal, working wonders on you. The feeling so intense it forced more moans to escape from your lips, your fingers quickly tangling themselves in his hair. "Fuck, Will..." You breathed, unable to keep your hips from rolling against his talented mouth.
That feeling in your stomach getting for intense as the minutes passed, signaling that you were close, but you didn't want that yet. "Will," You lifted up his face to look at you, "I want you inside me."
Will grinned as he took off his own pants, hovering over you. You giggled as you noticed the shine on his face, obviously from his own saliva and your arousal. You kissed him deeply, tasting yourself on his tongue. You bit your lip as you felt Will line himself up against your entrance, slipping inside easily with how much of a mess he must've made with his mouth.
You and Will both let out loud groans as he bottomed out, him easing in and out of you slowly to help you get used to his size. "You feel incredible." Will moaned out softly, his eyebrows furrowing as he felt your tight walls clenching around his length. "Fuck..."
You sighed happily as Will's rutting against you finally felt pleasurable, raking your fingernails down his back lightly as he began to increase the speed of his thrusts. You moaned loudly after the gasp that escaped you when Will's length finally started to rub up against that sensitive spot inside you every time he thrusted. "Oh, Will!" You cried, the hold you had around his broad shoulders tightening as you started to feel your orgasm building up again.
Will moaned out as you started to clench around him again, alerting him of your quickly approaching climax. "Y/N..." He breathed, looking into your eyes after he kissed you softly.
You eyebrows furrowed as you wailed out, your climax seconds away. "Don't stop, Will, please, don't stop!" You cried, cupping his face tightly as you came.
Will watched your face intensely as you climaxed, wanting to ingrain that image in his brain so he'd never forget it. Seeing your eyes shut tightly from how intense your orgasm must've been is what sent Will over the edge right after you, his thrusts become erratic and sloppy as he chased that peak of pleasure.
Will let out one more grunt as he came, painting the inside of your walls with his warmth, kissing you on the neck gently before pulling out of you and collapsing in exhaustion beside you.
You were quick to roll over and rest your head on Will's sweat coated chest, not even close to being ready to be without his touch. He wrapping an arm around you, pulling you closer, letting out a sigh.
There was a silence that fell over the two of you, that made the whole room seem too quiet. Before, the room echoed moans and the lewd sounds of flesh on flesh, but now, it was a sort of bittersweet silence. Knowing that you had to leave soon was all that you could think about now, the feeling of Will keeping you close only reminded you of that.
"This is going to be a long six months..." You voiced, breaking the silence.
Will rolled over to face you, reaching a hand up to caress your cheek. "It'll be okay."
You let out a bitter chuckle. "I sure hope so. It's gonna suck without you with me."
Will offered a sad smile. "Yeah...but I'll be waiting here for you when you come back."
"Promise?"
"Promise."

But for real, I really hope I didn't mess anything up in this. I think I just need to educate myself more, but I really tried to make this perfect! Hope you enjoy, @poulterfilms
hello my favorite writer it is me again i was wondering if i could have another will imagine (gn as usual) and could it be about a reader who feels insecure about being wills partner because they’re still working on being famous and feel like they’re mooching off of wills fame and end up pushing him away slightly and it’s angsty, but ends in fluff with will finally telling them he loves them and reassuring kisses <3
Favorite writer?? You flatter me, darlin', but thank you!
Also, so sorry this took so long! I've been really unmotivated/lazy lately and I wanted to write this as perfect as I possibly could. Also also, ya know how the Powerpuff Girls were made? Sugar, spice, and everything nice but Chemical X was added accidently? Yeah, this is that, but replace Chemical X with a lot of angst. My bad.😬
WARNING: Depressing themes throughout

It wasn't often you felt insecure, but you figured it was just one of those days.
You hadn't been in many blockbuster films or tv shows, you were still working hard on your career. You loved the indie projects you worked on, you loved any job where you could act. It was your passion, after all.
You couldn't help feel a little bit insecure when your partner, Will, was where you aspired to be your whole life. He was brilliant, working with amazing people like Tom Hardy and Leonardo DiCaprio. So early in his career too. You looked up to Will so much, praying that you'd be just as talented as him one day. But you knew it wouldn't be easy, acting isn't exactly the easier job in the world, you knew it would take a lucky break.
You always joked that maybe you should work as a waiter in some restaurant, knowing that Edward Norton got his first movie role while working in such a place, only to move on to work beside the amazing Richard Gear.
It was just one day you felt bad about your career, but then it started to snowball into anxiety and depression. It got to the point where it was all you could think about, especially when you were out with Will. And you could tell that he knew something was up, the thousand yard stare that you often had was something that couldn't really go unnoticed.
But for the most part, you acted like everything was fine.
You hated that you let your insecurity pile on and on like this, it normally was something you could handle. You don't know what came over you, but you found yourself scrolling for hours looking at comments on any of your posts. Most people were supportive of you and Will's relationship, and you were thankful for that. But of course, there are always a few bad apples.
The wonderful and lovely, supportive comments were many, outweighing the hate by miles. But just one negative comment could throw you off, ruining your day.
You wished you could just focus on the positive, but unfortunately, that's not how brains are designed. It always has to point out a flaw, find that one odd man out, find the error in the system. Usually, most of those errors can be fixed. You spent your entire life trying to get people to like you, being somewhat of a pushover and a people pleaser, disregarding your own self in favor of praise. So seeing people online hating you for no other reason besides being with Will, seeing that they might never change their minds, it was devastating.
You knew that the hate would usually come from obsessed fans who must've been jealous of you, and you could understand that and it was fine. You remembered the younger years of being jealous of a person who dated your crush, it was something that most people grow out of thankfully. You could get over those comments, saying you weren't good looking enough or not fit enough, any comments about your appearance. The ones that really got to you was the comments about your "horrible" personality.
It was odd, people saying awful things about you when they didn't even know you at all. Most of the contradictory was were amusing. There was a point in time after your relationship with Will was made public, where you'd feel to nervous about going to red carpet events with him. The comments would say, "Y/n's not there with Will? What an unsupportive partner they must be!" or anything similar. But when you started to go with him sometimes, the comments would shift dramatically.
"Y/n's a gold digger."
"They're just using Will for his fame."
"He deserves better than that snake."
It hurt, more than you'd admit. You told Will it didn't bother you that much, just wrote it off that it's normal. Then, you never talked about it again.
You felt awful, every single day. Thoughts of self doubt clouding your brain constantly, thinking, "Am I really deserving of such a kind person like Will?" No matter how you looked at it, the answer was always no.
You started to feel like you shouldn't even be with Will anymore. There was most likely someone else out there, an actor with more talent and more self-sufficient than you were.
You and Will had been together for a couple years, you loved him so much, but when he asked you to move in with him, you said you weren't ready. The biggest lie you ever told, and you instantly regretted it when you saw the disappointed look on his face. But being the gentleman that he is, he said it was completely okay and that there was no pressure.
You absolutely didn't deserve him.
Every time Will asked you to go out with him, you always came up with an excuse to stay home. You felt too anxious about being out in public, the thought of a fan seeing you with Will brought you to the verge of a panic attack. You became distant, trying to distract yourself by throwing yourself into your work. You rarely saw Will anymore, and you knew if you kept up with how you were acting on your insecurity, you'd lose him. But you couldn't bring yourself to try and talk to him about it, you felt too embarrassed.
From Will's point of view, he thought you were becoming distant because of him. He wracked his mind trying to think what was it that he did to make you spend less time with him? At first, he thought, maybe you just needed some space. There were times where he needed to be alone, just like everyone does. But it felt like it was going on for too long. Every time he wanted to take you out somewhere nice, you'd politely decline and you'd opted for a night in.
There came a point where enough was enough, Will was determined to find out what was going on with you.
You stared at your cellphone, the screen lighting up with a picture of Will along with your set ringtone. You sighed, you really didn't feel like answering. You knew you should, but you couldn't bring yourself to. A feeling of dread washed over you, you didn't want him to think you hated him, yet you still couldn't. You rang your fingers through your hair, anxiously scratching your scalp harshly.
Your screen darkened, following with a notification, voicemail and text. "Y/n, what's going on? I've been trying...", you couldn't listen anymore.
"I'm sorry, Will..." You whispered to yourself, wrapping yourself up tightly in a blanket.
You almost screamed when you heard a rapid knock on your door, quickly tensing up when you heard Will call out from outside. "Y/n?"
You wanted to fucking scream.
"I know you're in there, just, please, talk to me."
The desperation in his voice forced you to get up from your couch, tossing away your cozy blanket with a huff. You shakily reached out and opened the door, Will's concerned face filling your view. "...hi."
Will chuckled bitterly. "Hi? That's it? You haven't talked to me in days. What's going on, love?"
"Nothing!" You explained, plastering on a fake smile with a chuckle.
Will smiled sadly. "You're lying." He said simply, pushing his way past you into your home.
"Will, please, I'm not up to talking right now."
"You know, I want to respect your wishes, I really do. But I feel that I've been patient. I've been trying to support you in any way that I can, but I can't help if I don't know what's going on." He sat down on your couch, pleading for you to sit next to him with his eyes. "We used to be open and honest with each other about everything. Tell me what's going on so I can help you."
You huffed, running your hands over your face. "It's not that simple..."
Will casted his gaze to your wooden floor, squeezing his hands together and taking a deep shaky breath. "Is it...is it because it's something I did?"
"What?"
"You're shutting me out. It's because of me, isn't it? I did something-"
"No." You quickly exclaimed, rushing over to his side when you heard his voice waver, taking ahold of one of his hands. "No, it's not you, I promise."
"Then...why? Why are you pushing me away?" Will sighed, biting his lip to keep himself from crying. "Do you not love me anymore?"
"I love you, Will, more than I can express." You chuckled bitterly. "It's hard to talk about."
Will brought a hand up to your face, gently brushing a freshly fallen tear off your face. "You can tell me anything, Y/n, anything."
You smiled weakly, bringing his hand you were holding up to your lips and kissed his knuckles softly. "Okay..." You took a deep breath.
"Take your time, love."
"Being with you, brings me so much happiness that it feels like I'm dreaming. You're so...amazing, and honestly the best and most kind person I've ever met. And I? I feel like I'm nobody."
"Y/n..."
"Compared to others, I'm no one. Just another person trying to live out their dreams that are so far fetched that it doesn't even seem possible to even come close to achieving them. You're so self assured that acting is what you were born to do and you're so talented. I envy you, and I feel so guilty feeling that way. Sometimes I feel like I wasn't meant to be an actor. I feel like...I'm trying to run towards my goal, but every time I make progress, the goal moves farther and farther away until I can't even see it anymore."
"Y/n," Will started softly, "I know how you feel. I've felt that way about my career too. I always wondered if there was going to be a light at the end of the tunnel. Yes, you can work as hard as you humanly can, but it also takes luck. You just have to be at the right place at the right time sometimes. That's why they call it a lucky break, ya know." He smiled, making you giggle tearfully.
"I know, but that's not all." You frowned. "I know you said, it's just better to ignore what the internet has to say, but...I was looking some of our comments a few months ago. And...I just went down a fuckin' rabbit hole. I know I always say that hate comments don't bother me, but...they do. They really do, and I let them get to me. I'm sorry."
"No, darling, I'm sorry. I didn't see what was really going on when I should've."
"You have nothing to be sorry for, Will. I thought I was stronger than this."
Will quickly brought you close to his chest, wrapping around your torso with one arm, the other gently cupping your jaw. "Hey, you are the strongest person I know, okay? Don't think you're weak just because you're feeling something that every human on planet earth feels. Whatever those comments said, there's no one I'd rather be with than you." He leaned forward and kissed you gently, pressing his forehead against yours.
"I felt so embarrassed, Will. I wished I had talked to you sooner."
"It doesn't matter now. You opened up and I'm proud of you for that. I love you so much. And I promise to try my very hardest to never let you feel that way again."

hope you enjoyed, @fcvcritecrime ! 🖤
Yes ! Can you maybe do an imagine where the reader breaks up with Will because they dont think they’re good enough for him ?? But with a happy ending where they get back together because he really wants to be with them
Of course, sweet Anon!😊 Man, y'all really love angst lmao In retrospect, this might be a bit too angsty😬I blame Bo Burnham's Inside
This imagine is going to be really depressing, like a lot. There will be mentions of attempted suicide and self harm so, SEVERE TRIGGER WARNING.
~~~~~~~~~~
It had been over a year since you broke up with Will.
You'd never felt more depressed in your life, but you thought it was the right decision at the time. What bullshit that turned out to be...
Your crippling insecurity forced your mind to think you didn't deserve to have someone as amazing as Will, he was so thoughtful and you were so, well, so dependent.
You weren't in the best stage of your life when you met Will, you were in a really dark place and you had even more trouble getting out of it. You haven't really made much progress since then, but you tried.
You just wanted to feel better for once. Every day, you just felt like you were drowning and taking Will with you.
He was your rock, and he made sure that he was right beside you every time you felt bad. Of course, being an actor, he had to go away sometimes and you always told him that you'd be fine. You weren't, of course, but you were always so happy for him whenever he'd book a film or TV show because it made him happy.
There were days you just felt numb, mostly when Will wasn't with you. Those days you'd just lay in your bed, sob uncontrollably until the exhaustion would put you to sleep.
Will felt helpless, and you could always see it on his face. He was worried about you, he wanted to help you, but it wasn't something that he could change or do anything about. Him worrying about you day and night made you feel even worse, that was not what you wanted for him. He deserved to be with something that lifted him up and encouraged him, not someone who's depressing all the time and unintentionally bringing him down with them. No...you didn't want that for him at all.
It was inevitable, but it didn't make it any easier to break up with him.
Will's heartbroken face would forever be engrained in your mind, but you kept telling yourself it was in his best interest.
You cried the hardest you ever cried in your entire life. You loved him so much, you didn't want to let him go, but you couldn't let your toxicity ruin his life. And you honestly thought that it would get better in time, but it only made your mental state deteriorate ever more.
One night, when the pain got too hard to handle, you took and broke your shaving razors, taking out the blades.
In hindsight, you really wished you hadn't, you felt embarrassed about it for the longest time. But trying to look on the bright side, it did force you to finally get the professional help you needed. Therapy, medication, the whole nine yards. You kicked yourself for not getting yourself help sooner, because you felt better now that you were going to therapy.
You still struggled a lot, but you knew once you found the right medication, it would become more bearable, and it did eventually. It took a lot of hard work.
You thought about Will a lot, what he was up to, if he found someone else that he loved. The thought was painful, but all you wanted for him was to find true happiness.
One day, you decided to go out to a coffee shop one morning, as opposed to just Postmateing yourself like you normally did. Your therapist did say you needed to get out more, so you took their advice.
You walked through town, a simple little coffee shop catching your eye. The name sounded familiar to you, though you couldn't quite place why. You didn't think you'd been to this place before, you usually made your own coffee, but you wanted to give it a try.
The light ring of a bell filled your ears as you opened the front door. It was a really cold morning, so the warm heat hitting your skin and inhaling the strong smell of coffee and freshly made bakeries put a small smile on your face.
You were thankful that there wasn't a line, possibly to early in the morning, maybe you got there before the usual early birds. Though looking around, it was a small place, only a few book readers scattered amongst the small tables that were set up opposite of the counter where you ordered.
While waiting for your coffee, a wall full of art caught your eye. You walked closer to look at all the pieces, all of them painted by customers. Hmm, cute...
You didn't really acknowledge the bell ringing once more, signaling an arrival of another customer, to focused on the pretty art.
"Hey!" You heard one of the workers say cheerfully, probably addressing the new customer. "Your usual, Will?"
Your smile dropped. Ha, what are the odds, right?
"Yep, of course. Thank you."
Then, your heart dropped.
You recognized that voice anywhere. Now you knew why this shop sounded so familiar, it was Will's favorite place to get coffee, he had mentioned it to you before. Of course, of all the coffee places in town, you had to pick this one.
You slowly turned around, your heart beating out of your chest and almost coming to a complete stop once you laid eyes on his face. That face you always thought about, even in your dreams. "Wi-"
"Y/n!" You cringed as the coffee shop worker called out your name, telling you that your coffee was ready.
Will immediately snapped his gaze over to you, clearly having trouble believing it was actually you. You stood there awkwardly, having a hard time reading his expression. Was he mad? Sad? Happy?
"Y/n." Will almost whispered, taking a couple steps closer to you.
Will looked the same, just as handsome as when you last saw him. His eyes were locked onto you, looking you over in awe. He thought you looked so much healthier now, but always thinking that you look stunning, no matter the circumstance.
"How...how are you?" Will started, a small smile finally stretching across his lips. "You look," He chuckled softly, "amazing."
You looked down slightly when your face started to burn, all of your blood seeming to rush right to your face from one simple compliment. "Thank you." You said sheepishly. "You look amazing too, as usual."
Now it was Will's turn to blush, his easy to spot with his fair complexion. "Uh, do you wanna, maybe, sit down? Or we could go somewhere else, if you want to, that is. Don't feel pressured or anything." He rambled.
You smiled. "Yeah, sure." You grabbed your coffee and joined Will at the table he chose to sit at. "So, uh, how've you been?" You asked, taking tiny sips of your hot drink.
"Good, good. I'll be filming a new project soon, so that'll be fun." Will paused for a beat, then sighing despairingly . "I've been, uh, thinking about you. A lot."
"I've been thinking about you too."
"I kinda lied. I am filming something soon but, I haven't been good. Ever since we broke up, life just...kind of feels a bit grey now."
You frowned, biting your lip hard to keep tears from welling up in your eyes. "I'm sorry, Will..." You whispered. "I thought you'd be better off without me to drag you down. I was such a burden."
Will furrowed his brows, shaking his head with a frown. "No. You weren't dragging me down, I loved you, Y/n. I would've done anything for you. I know that you struggled a lot with your mental health, but I wanted to be with you through all that. I never thought you were a burden, not for a second."
"I just," You wiped an unwanted tear from your cheek, "I don't think I was ready to be in a relationship then. I've been working really hard on my health and now that I have a clearer mindset, I think it was probably for the best that I broke up with you when I did."
Will took a deep breath. "I respect that. I do. I'm happy for you, that you're better now. I don't want this to come off as selfish...but I still love you. I want to be with you. But I understand if you can't be in a relationship right now. I'll wait for you, as long as it takes if you'll let me."
You blushed furiously once more. At this point, you practically wanted to throw yourself at this man. You didn't care if it didn't work out again, you still wanted him, badly.
"I still love you too, Will. Always have."
Will smiled softly. "I don't want you to be my partner again if you're not ready."
"I don't know if I am, I'm still working on myself, but...goddamn I wanna kiss you so bad right now." You said, eliciting another blush and a shy laugh from Will.
You answered him by leaning forward slowly, rubbing your nose against his before gent as you smiled widely at him, leaning closer. You almost shivered as his cold hands reached over to delicately trace your jawline, the gesture automatically putting you in a sort of trance where you could only look into his eyes.
"I really want to kiss you." Will giggled, fully cupping the side of your jaw. "May I?"
You answered him by leaning forward slowly, rubbing your nose against his before gently connecting your lips with his.
Over a year of wanting and missing Will, you ignored your dislike of PDA, you've needed this for so long. The spark you always felt when you kissed him was still there, still giving you goosebumps along with an intense desire you definitely couldn't act on in this coffee shop.
Will pulled away, only to rest his forehead against yours, his eyes closed just relishing in the moment. "I've missed you so much."
"Me too." You chuckled breathlessly.
"I don't want you to feel like you have to rush back into things. We can take it slow if that's what you want."
This man was always such a gentleman, but it just made you even more eager to take him home with you.
"Right now, I don't think I'm capable of taking things slow." You said, a almost seductive tone to your voice.
Will smiled playfully, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "That's absolutely not taking things slow."
"How about we go to my place? Make up all the lost time?" You asked not as confidently, the feeling of rejection making you nervous, but Will smiled gently, taking a hold of your hand and kissing you once more.
"Lead the way."
Why did life have to be so hard?
You watched as Will got ready for his date that night, giddy and excited to be going out, rambling on and on about how nice this person was, who he met a few days prior.
You just smiled and nodded along, pretending that your heart wasn't painfully throbbing with jealousy.
You hated this feeling, longing. It was strange, you never felt this way before with Will. You've been friends with him as long as you can remember, seen him have plenty of dates with other people. So why did you suddenly feel like you wanted him all to yourself? It wasn't like you at all.
"So, what do you think?" Will asked, snapping you out of your thoughts, slowly spinning around to show off his outfit.
You plastered on that same fake smile that you unfortunately got into the habit of doing nowadays. "You look great, Will. You always do." You didn't mean to sound so sad, but it came out that way and you internally cringed.
Will cocked his head with a confused grin. "You okay?"
You nodded your head eagerly. "Of course!" You stood up from where you sat and quickly adjusted the collar of Will's shirt, struggling to pull away when he smiled at you. "I always have to fix that damn shirt collar." You chuckled weakly, forcing yourself to take a couple steps back.
Will copied your chuckle, turning around to do a once over in his mirror. "What would I do without you?" He joked, but you frowned for a split second before shaking your head.
"Well, don't wanna keep the lucky date waiting, right?" You patted him on the shoulder, maybe a little too hard since Will rubbed his shoulder with a grimace afterwards.
"You are absolutely right. I'll be off then, night, love!" Will placed a quick kiss to your cheek, heading out of his house, leaving you alone with the ghost of the kiss lingering on your cheek. The innocent, and most importantly, friendly kiss.
You looked around the living room solemnly, looking to your feet to see the two pups you were trusted to take care of while the owner was out of his date. Welp, at least I have his dogs to share my misery with...
You had no idea how you let this happen. You've always seen Will as a friend, and nothing more. You've both hyped each other up when one of you scored a date. Will has seen you off to plenty of dates and never had a problem with it, so why couldn't you do the same for him?
Unbeknownst to you, Will actually has had similar feelings. He didn't know how it happened, but he developed strong feelings for you. He clearly knew you didn't feel the same, and he had to sit idly by as he watched you be in and out of relationships with people who weren't him.
He's never been one to get jealous, but he'd definitely be lying if he said he never was jealous of your partners. He wanted to be the one to hold your hand, he wanted to be the one to open doors for you, to be the one you smiled at when he wasn't looking. He decided to move on, even if it was the last thing he wanted. But his respect for you trumped his lust that he felt at the same time, he just wished he could turn his feelings off.
You decided to hole up in your apartment after Will came back from his date, the date that went "extremely well." The "he'd definitely be seeing this person again" date.
You couldn't say you were devastated, for obvious reasons. You didn't want to tell Will you had feelings for him, and you didn't want to be selfish. You always felt selfish nowadays.
You just felt like a burden.
It was hard hanging out with Will, always having to hear about his new partner, how they're so nice and kind and caring and apparently so fuckin' amazing...it made you want to vomit. It made you not want to hang out with him as much anymore, but thankfully, that decision was made for you. Will didn't have time for you anymore, he really wanted to make his relationship with this new person work, more than he wanted to keep your friendship strong, you thought.
Eventually, you just stopped trying to initiate conversations. Will would text you, all the time really, he'd just be too busy to see you. Between acting roles and sending time with his partner, you'd only be with him through text messages.
An epiphany struck you one day: you deserved better.
You knew you were right, and that's why it made your choice to painful. You had to cut ties with Will, but you had no idea how you'd do that without breaking down.
You took the coward's way out, at least, you thought it was cowardly.
You simply just stopped replying to his text messages. But once he started to text you messages like "can we talk?" you thought you might give him a chance. You said you'd do it tomorrow, then tomorrow turned into the next day, then a week passes, then a month. You stopped thinking about it, you didn't want to think about it, because every time you did, the urge to contact Will got stronger and stronger. You wanted to move on. You needed to move on. But, you never could get him out of your thoughts completely.
Months and months go by, and before you know it, it's Christmastime.
You'd decided to travel around after cutting off contact with Will, mostly just couch hopping with friends, exploring the area to get your mind off how heart broken you felt. It was a good distraction, for awhile. But now that Christmas was soon, you had to go back to your home town; you did miss your family quite a lot. But you did feel that similar anxiousness after coming back home, thinking about Will and the "what ifs." Will always loved spending time with his family during the holidays, and you knew he'd probably be in town.
Just going outside to check the mail was nerve wracking to you, but you chuckled bitterly at your paranoia, it's not like he was going to show up at your house out of the blue. He wouldn't do that.
Your family really wanted a Christmas tree, a real one. You tried to use your allergies as an excuse to just stick with an artificial tree, but your parents were dead set on having a real tree. It wasn't exactly a lie, you used to get real trees, you just couldn't be around one too closely or else you get into a sneezing fit. But you really just didn't want to be out in the town, just in case.
But your family dragged you along to help pick out a tree anyway, in the freezing cold.
You idly kicked some icicles that were formed on the bottom of tree branches, smiling subtly to yourself as you heard the crackle of the ice hitting the concrete. You looked over to see your family still trying to decide on what kind of tree they wanted, and you remembered how indecisive your folks were. You were gonna be there for awhile...
"Y/n?" As if you weren't freezing enough, the voice that you heard from beside you made a chill go up your spine, causing you to sink down more into your coat.
You looked to your left, unluckily for you, seeing your former best friend beside you, an unreadable expression on his face. "Will...? Uh, w-what are you doing here?" You weren't sure if it was the cold that made you stutter, or just the pure nervousness and almost fear that you felt.
Will uncomfortably shifted on his feet, taking a deep breath before answering. "My, uh, mum wanted to have a tree this year. I'm guessing yours did too?"
You nodded curtly. "Yep."
The awkward silence made you want to curl up into a ball and throw yourself off a cliff.
"We should probably talk." Will said.
"Uh," You nervously rubbed your hands together, "I don't think that's a good idea..."
"Why not?" He asked bluntly, his expression turning cold.
You sighed. "I...well, I have to help my parents get this tree so..."
"Fine. I'll come by later."
"Wait-"
"See you tonight." And with that, Will walked away in a hurry, not giving you the chance to refuse.
You bit the inside of your lip hard, a coppery taste coating the tip of your tongue when you explored the small dent in your mouth that you created from stress.
You figured this day would come soon enough. Karma's a bitch, as some say. You thought you'd have a bit more time to prepare yourself for a confrontation, but the universe decided to be a jerk and sucker punch you in the face with your regrets.
You went home, feeling like a knife was twisting in your gut as you helped your family set up your Christmas tree in the living room, constantly glancing at the clock every chance you could.
Eventually, your family decided to leave the house once more, having bought tickets to a play that night, which you politely declined to go to. You weren't interested in yet another retelling of the Christmas story acted out by little bratty children who couldn't remember their lines half the time. No, you have somewhat decent standards.
You just sat on the living room couch with your family pet, staring at the clock, seeing the hands move slowly until it finally reached nine o'clock. You untensed for a moment, thinking that maybe Will decided to not come over. The loud ring of the doorbell quickly squashed that idea.
You opened the door, not surprised to see Will on the other side, his cold expression unchanged from when you last saw him.
You said nothing as you moved aside, opening the door wider for Will as he walked in.
The air felt thick, like there wasn't enough oxygen for both of you to be in the same room. It felt similar to whenever you pulled your blankets over your head when you were little and afraid of the dark, thinking that nothing can hurt you if you were completely wrapped up in the comfort of your duvet, but never getting enough fresh air to keep those blankets over your head, eventually having to pull the blankets off to breathe. You really wished you had a blanket now...
"Well?" Will broke the silence, looking to you expectantly.
You shrugged slightly. "Well what?"
Will chuckled bitterly, shaking his head. "You know what, Y/n." When you didn't reply, he continued. "You stop talking to me all of a sudden, for months, not even telling me why. I need to know why, I deserve an explanation."
You sighed, looking anywhere but at him. "I just...needed some time away..." What a fucking lie...
"Some time away, really? That's your excuse? We were best friends, everything was fine, so what went wrong, huh? Why did you just up and leave everything behind without telling me?" You closed your eyes, trying to calm yourself as his voice got louder with every sentence. "Are you even listening to me? Do you hate me now, is that it? I don't know what I did, please, tell me." He pleaded.
"Will..." You whispered, finally looking to him to see unshed tears in his eyes. "it was me, not you. You didn't do anything wrong..."
Will stepped closer to you, his arms crossed. "Do you have any idea how much it hurt to be ghosted by the one person you thought cared about you the most? It really fucking hurt. And now, you're just standing here like you don't even care."
"I do care, Will." You said softly, reaching out to touch him but he quickly flinched away.
"Then why did you leave? I want the truth."
"I wasn't happy...with myself...with you." You started, walking over to take a seat on your couch. "I felt alone. You spent all your time with your partner, you rarely had time for me anymore."
"Wait, my partner?"
"Yeah...the beginning of this year, you started dating that person, I forgot their name..."
Will shook his head. "It didn't work out with them, I'm not seeing anyone, haven't for awhile. But that's not the point. Why didn't you just tell me that you felt alone? You know I would've made time for you if that's what you needed."
You felt like you wanted to scream, frustration starting to consume you, but you settled for a muffled groan. "It wasn't just because I felt alone..."
"Then what?"
Fuck it...
"Because I hated seeing you date other people. I absolutely hated it. And when you started gushing about how amazing this person was, I felt like I wanted to bash my head in with a hammer." Okay, maybe that was a little exaggerated, but you got your point across.
"You didn't want me to date other people?" Will's heart beat rapidly in his chest, just the thought of why you possibly felt that was making him anxious to ask, "Why?"
You were scared to answer, afraid of his reaction. What if he hated you? That would be the worst case scenario, you'd rather die than have him hate you. But, you did owe it to Will to tell him the truth. The unfiltered, honest truth.
"We've been friends for as long as I can remember. We always told each other everything." You smiled weakly. "We'd always be happy for each other whenever we went on dates and found people that made us happy. But...there was a point where I realized that no matter how many dates I went on with other people, I never truly found happiness in those people. Because, I always thought about someone else...you." You looked up at Will. "You've always been the one person to make me truly happy. And I finally figured it out, it's not because you were my best friend, it's because...you're the one I always wanted to be with, Will."
Will took a deep, shuddering breath, trying to take in your words. "That night, when I was about to go on that date, you weren't yourself. You looked sad..."
"I didn't want you to go. I wanted you to stay with me." You wiped away a few fallen tears with your sleeve, sighing tearfully. "I was being selfish...really selfish." You frowned.
Will carefully sat beside you, looking straight ahead. The red and green lights placed crookedly on the Douglas fir being one of the only light sources in the room, illuminating your tear ridden face and causing a reflective shine to Will's glassy sorrowful eyes.
"I had no idea." Will said, being the first one to break the silence yet again.
"That was kind of the point." You sniffled, curling your knees up to your chest.
"...I'm sorry."
You furrowed your brows, looking to Will in confusion. "Why are you sorry? I'm the only one who should be sorry."
Will shook his head. "No..." He laughed sharply, clenching his fists in his lap. "It's funny."
"What is?" You asked, trying not to sound offended.
"I've spend years trying to get over my feelings for you, and you tried to do the same. Guess I'm not as intuitive as I thought."
You silently gasped. "Will? You...? Huh?"
Will smiled weakly. "I only started dating other people because I was trying to push away my feelings for you, and of course, it didn't work."
"Will, if this is some joke-"
"It's not. Have I ever lied to you?"
"...no. You've had feelings for me this entire time? And I punished you for it..." You said as you felt the tears well up in your eyes again.
"No, Y/n, no. You had no way of knowing, just like I had no way of knowing how you felt about me."
"I'm so sorry, Will. I never should've left."
Will quickly grabbed a hold of your hand, bringing it up to his lips to place a gentle kiss on your knuckles. "You're here now. It's okay...we're okay."
"Can you ever forgive me?"
Will smiled softly. "Of course. I've never been able to stay mad at you for long."
You frowned. "What if I deserve it?"
"No. No, you don't. It's all going to be okay."
You took a deep breath, trying not to burst into tears again as Will pulled you close, wrapping his arms around you in a tight embrace. "What now?"
"Maybe it's too early to ask but...we could go on a date." Will chuckled weakly.
You looked back up at Will, trying to hide your growing smile. "Really?"
"If that's what you want."
You looked at the clock. "It's getting a little late, I don't think that many places would be open right now. We could go out tomorrow?"
"It's a date." Will smiled.
You sighed. "I really wish I would've talked to you about this instead of running away..."
Will shook his head, bringing his hand up to gently caress your cheek. "I shouldn't have raised my voice earlier. So now we both have something we regret. But it's okay, Y/n. I felt like running away quite a few times myself whenever you went out with someone else...or just hiring a hitman or something."
You laughed genuinely, playfully pushing Will's shoulder. "I think my family is gonna be home soon."
"That's my cue to leave, I take it?"
You pouted. "I don't want you to."
"Well, hey, we'll see each other tomorrow." He smiled.
You walked Will to your front door, frowning as he opened it. "I never used to be the clingy type with anyone."
Will turned around to face you, wrapping an arm around your waist to pull you in for a warm hug. "It's all going to be okay. We're gonna do this thing right."
You pulled away with a huff, looking deeply into his eyes. "I really want to kiss you right now." You giggled.
Will grinned, replying to your statement by leaning in, delicately brushing his lips over yours before fully placing them onto yours passionately. You could truthfully say that the kiss made you weak in the knees, it was everything you imagined it to be and more. It was intoxicating.
The kiss quickly got heated, and you didn't know if you'd be able to stop yourself. Will grabbed at your sides, trying to pull you even closer than you were already, eliciting a quiet moan from you when he gently pulled on the roots of your hair. But you finally forced yourself to stop, trying to catch your breath.
"Sorry." Will quickly apologized.
"I didn't want to stop." You snickered, running your hands through your now tangled hair. "We haven't even gone on our first date yet and I already want to rip your clothes off."
Will blushed and grinned. "Guess we'll just have to save it for tomorrow then."
"Tomorrow it is."
One night, Will wanted you to rush home from work, not even telling you what for.
Of course, your paranoid mind went haywire and thought up impossible scenarios like it usually does. But all those fears washed away in a tidal wave when you opened the front door to your house with Will.
You were hit with the sweet smelling aroma of flowers and candles, that were lighting up the home. Rose peddles were scattered across the floor to form a pathway to another room in the house, beckoning you to follow.
The path stopped at the dining room, where the table was decorated elegantly with your favorite flowers in a vase, the fine china that you rarely used set on either side with its matching shiny utensils, the plates holding a delicious looking gourmet meal that had your mouth watering in mere seconds.
Being the softie that you were, tears welled up in your eyes immediately, so touched that someone would go through such trouble to do something this nice for you.
"Happy anniversary, love."
You quickly turned around to see Will, the love of your life, dressed up all fancy in a suit, wearing the biggest smile on his face that mirrored yours. "I'm not even dressed up!" You laughed tearfully.
"There's something for you in our bedroom." Will motioned, sidestepping away from the doorframe to allow you to pass by.
You gleefully speed walked to your bedroom, gasping lightly when you saw the outfit that was laid out for you on the bed. It was so gorgeous that it felt like something you'd only see in your dreams. "Oh my god, Will..." You whispered.
"Do you like it?"
"I absolutely love it. It's so beautiful...do you wanna help me put it on?"
Will smirked. "As much as I'd love to, there's a hot meal waiting to be eaten and I definitely don't want it to be cold by the time I'd be through with you."
You quickly put the outfit after you had a blushing fit, and you thought you looked great in the clothing. It made you feel amazing.
You thought you were done blushing, but as soon as you walked back into the dining room, Will's face of pure adoration and awe caused all your blood to rush back into your cheeks. "It looks even more beautiful with you in it."
Even after all the years you spent with Will, he could still very easily make you blush with just a look. "Oh, hush..." You giggled, taking a seat across from him. "This looks amazing, Will, really. You really went above and beyond."
"How could I not when it's our five year anniversary?" Will grinned.
The whole dinner went perfectly, as you expected, but it was hard for you not keep eyeing Will in that suit he was wearing; he was started to look more delicious than the meal. But you did notice he was fidgeting a little in his seat, perhaps he was feeling the same way? You soon figured out that your theory was completely wrong.
Will took a deep breath. "Okay..." He took another deep breath.
"Are you okay, babe?" You asked with a nervous giggle.
Will chuckled breathlessly. "I don't know."
"What's wrong?" You asked with a more concerned tone.
Will grinned, looking down to, what you could only assume from across the table, pull something out of his pockets. His face was flushed red, and you could faintly see his forehead shine with a really thin sheet of sweat.
"Oh god, darling, are you sick?"
"No! No, no, no...I'm...here goes."
Will suddenly stands up from the table, accidently bumping his knee, making the whole table shake. You were getting more nervous by the second, but couldn't help but laugh as flowers fell over onto the leftover food. "Oh, lord, sorry!" Will rambled, trying to get his bearings by taking a deep breath, quickly composing himself.
Will walked to your side of the table, taking a hold of your hand before getting down on one knee.
Your eyes widened. "Will..." You whispered, your voice already shaking.
"Y/n L/n, we've been together for five amazing years. You are the love of my life and I don't know how I'd survive without you. When I think of the future, you are always there right beside me and I wouldn't want it any other way. I want you, forever and always. So..." Will finally pulled out a little velvet box, opening it to reveal the most gorgeous ring you've ever seen in your life. "Will you marry me?"
You never thought you'd be one of those people who cry when they get proposed to. You always thought it was so cliché and soppy, but here you were trying to hold back your thick tears of joy.
It took zero hesitation. You quickly threw yourself into Will's embrace, hugging him tightly. "Yes! Yes, yes, yes. Yes times infinity, yes!" You laughed, surely staining his nice suit with your happy tears.
When you pulled away to plant a passionate kiss on Will's lips, you stopped to see he had tears streaming down his face as well, displaying an expression of pure happiness and relief that made your heart swell larger than it already had. "I was so nervous." He giggled.
You grinned. "There was no reason to be. I would be an absolute fool if I said no."
"God, I love you so much." Will said softly, placing his forehead against yours, planted a feather soft like kiss on the tip of your nose.
"And I love you, Will Poulter. So, so, much."
Hope you enjoyed @poulterfilms !!!
Can you do a fic about you being Will’s celebrity crush and him talking about it in an interview? I love your writing so much
Of course, sweet Anon!😊Such a cute idea, I was pretty much giggling and smiling like a baby while writing this honestly lmao
~~~~~~~~~~
Will wasn't normally the type to talk about crushes that he had, especially during interviews, but there was just something about you that made him unable to shut up.
"So, who is this special person that you love talking about so much?"
Will immediately blushed, grinning nervously at the interviewer's question. "How'd you know about that?"
The interviewer laughed. "Your costar, who I interviewed before, said you kept going on and on about this actor. They said I should bring it up."
"Oh, of course they did. They love embarrassing me. Okay, um, recently I've been a bit enamored with this actor I discovered. Y/n L/n."
"Oh! I've heard of them! Been in a lot of fantastic movies. I can see why you're so smitten."
Will knew he must've been beet red, his face so hot he felt like it was going to melt off. Thankfully, the interview ended quickly and he didn't have to embarrass himself further.
It wasn't that long ago when Will first found out about you. He went to see a movie with his friends, and it happened to be a movie you starred in. After that, Will made it his new hobby to watch every movie you'd ever been in. Even the first films that you were in. Watching interviews of you, you seemed like such a nice person. He shared a lot of your views and opinions, he almost couldn't believe you were real.
Being in the same career field, Will held out hope that he'd meet you one day. But alas, he's never even been in the same area as you yet. Of course, his friends had to tease him about his newfound crush. But they were also supportive in the idea that he'd meet you one day. He didn't think it would be any time soon. But that voice in the back of his head loved to focus on the "what ifs."
Will was on a press tour for a new movie he was in, so he was almost too busy to even think about possibly meeting you, which he was kind of thankful for.
In your neck of the woods, one of your friends sent you a link to a YouTube video.
Now, your friend loved trolling you, so most of the videos you got sent were just Rick Rolls. The thumbnail was of Will Poulter smiling during an interview, and your friend knew how much you admired him as an actor. You knew it was probably just another troll video, but your curiosity got the better of you.
You were surprised to see that it was, indeed, an actual interview video. But you were even more surprised to see your name in the title.
Will Poulter On His New Movie and Celebrity Crush: Y/n L/n! 😱😱
Clickbait, obviously.
You usually hating feeding in to that kind of clickbait shit, but you were anxious to see if Will did mention you at some point in the video. You were pretty much giggling like a school girl as soon as you got to the part where he talked about you. You awed out loud when you quickly noticed how red his face turned, but you kind of started to hate that interviewer and their line of questioning. You were pretty private about your personal life during interviews and the like, so you could imagine how uncomfortable you'd be being asked questions like that. But, you could only speak for yourself.
Then, you got a mischievous idea.
You were acquainted with one of Will's costars, so you decided to send a quick DM to them with an idea.
A few days later, Will was exhausted from all the press stuff he had to do for the new film, but it was a good exhaustion like it usually was. He had one more interview to do that day then he'd have a couple days off to relax, which he was excited for. He was thankful he didn't have to do the interview himself, a couple of his costars would be joining him this time.
The interviewer came in, did the usual greeting and congratulating on the success of the movie and expressing their positive opinions. Will could've answered all the questions in his sleep, having to answer so many that were pretty much the same. It was almost like he could put himself on autopilot if the interviewer focused on asking questions to his castmates.
The interviewer directed a question at Will, and he internally sighed. "So, have you gotten the chance to meet that actor you love so much?" The interviewer grinned excitedly.
Will hated how easily he blushed just at the sound of your name. "Ah, no. I haven't. I doubt it'll be anytime soon, if ever, so I'm not going to get my hopes up. But as of right now, I hope I don't meet them cause I'd probably embarrass myself."
"Aw, that's a shame."
Will froze, tensing up and his blush deepening. He turned around in his chair to see you, grinning beautifully. "Oh my god..." He uttered, too shocked to say anything else.
"Hello, everyone!" You greeted, giving a quick hug to your friend.
Will looked at his costar in disbelieve. "Did you do this?" Will's costar grinned proudly, nodding confidently.
"Well, if you don't want to see me right now, I can leave."
"No!" Will quickly blurted out, much louder than he intended, causing you to giggle. "Sorry, uh," He was at a loss for words, your presence such a surprise that he could barely form a sentence.
"That's okay! I wasn't planning on crashing for too long. I'll see you guys when you're done." And with that, you left the room, leaving the interviewer to finish their questions.
Will was pretty much in a stunned silence for the rest of the interview, which elicited some teasing from his castmates. He was so anxious for the interview to end that it felt like it was going on forever, so when it ended, Will all but ran out of the room to see you waiting patiently outside the building with your headphones on, mouthing along to whatever you were listening to.
You quickly noticed Will's presence, taking off your headphones and walking up to his with an approachable smile. "Well, hi there! Hope I didn't give ya a heart attack in there!" You laughed, it was like music to Will's ears.
Will shook his head with a nervous smile. "I've never had a heart attack before, but I imagine that's as close as I've gotten so far."
You laughed, placing a hand on his arm. "Sorry!"
Will tried to shake of the immediate spark of electricity he felt at your simple gesture. "It's fine. It was good, it was really good, you got me. So, I'm guessing that was my castmate's idea?"
"No, it was mine, actually."
Will furrowed his brows with a small smile. "Really? Why?"
"Well," You drew out flirtatiously, "I saw that interview."
Will groaned, running his hands over his face as he felt his face heat up for the third time that day. "Oh god..."
"Hey, don't worry! I thought it was really cute." You smiled.
Will looked through the crack between his fingers to look at you. "You did?" He tried to hide his wide grin.
You nodded. "I did. I really wanted to meet you. And since you were close to my town, I thought I'd surprise you."
"Well, consider me surprised." Will chuckled.
"So, if you're not doing anything later, wanna go get a drink with me or something?" You smiled while slightly nibbling on your bottom lip.
Will smirked and nodded. "I'd love to."

Wow, I actually love how this one came out. It's so cute and my mouth hurts from smiling😂
You Don't Need To Be Fixed - Will Poulter
Uh, I'm not even gonna explain because it's self-explanatory.
Possible Trigger Warning: Toxic Parental Figure/Emotional Abuse
~~~~~~~~~~
"I hate you."
"I wish you never even existed."
"You need to change, or else you're going to Hell."
"I pray every day that you see the light."
"The Lord can save you."
All of those I've heard before, all of them coming from a person that's supposed to love me unconditionally. I guess being one of the "homosexuals" is the breaking point for that, or having "deviant behavior" as she would call it.
Now, she's never said those things about me, because I'm closeted to her still, but I still feel those comments slice through me like she's directing it at me. It's kinda hilarious actually. She unintentionally tells me that I shouldn't exist.
I tell her point blank that I'd have a less rough time accepting her belief if she just comes out and say she hates the LGBT community. But, she says she doesn't hate anyone cause it's a sin.
"Bullshit." I say to her, out loud.
"Now, I do not like that language." She says sternly.
Ha! Of course that's what she focuses on, my fucking language. She's so fake, even more fake than a tween girl in middle school. She claims she's not homophobic because she's not afraid of gay people, to that I laugh, hard. She says she had bought lunch for two lesbians that she works with, says that she had a very nice time, so she couldn't possibly be homophobic! No, she acts like a decent human being with the gays, so that means she doesn't wish their sexualities would change!
It makes me want to vomit.
I call her out on that ridiculous way of thinking, to which she replies, "Just can it, will ya?" And that's the end of that conversation.
Another day, another argument about this, that, and the other. It's so tedious, and I willingly go into these arguments knowing that I'll never change her mind about anything. She thinks she's right about everything, and she always tells me, "I am right." Without second thought, she completely dismisses what I try to say.
It's always like this, me thinking I'm right and her thinking she's right. It's like trying to talk with Trump supporter...oh wait, she is a Trump supporter. Oops.
Usually, I'd go up to my room and cry it out, listen to very loud and aggressive music, scream into my pillow so I don't injure myself by punching a wall again. But, thankfully, I have someone who can help me through these times of crisis.
Will.
Ever since I met him, Will has been my rock, like my own emotional support human. Of course, it's not a one-way street, he trusts me enough to lean on me too. He's the greatest friend I've ever had, and I have no idea where I'd be without him in my life.
I just walk out of my house with my car keys in hand, starting the car and driving down the same route I've driven so many time I can basically do it in my sleep.
I make sure to text him beforehand, letting him know to prepare himself for a lot of frustrated ranting, but he was used to it by now.
"And it's like I can never talk to her about anything anymore because it always somehow ends up in a heated argument about politics, racial issues, or of course, the LGBT community. Like, I have no idea how much I can take before I explode and do something...not violent."
Will had his eyebrows raised, his shoulders tensed and looking like he was trying to be absorbed by his couch.
I had been ranting for about half an hour, pacing back and forth in his living room, scaring his poor pups with how my voice raised several octaves while speaking about the particularly upsetting parts, and my arms were pretty sore by how much I was waving them around. Jesus, no wonder Will looked scared.
I sighed. "Sorry, just had to get that off my chest before I imploded."
Will smiled. "It's okay, Y/n. Really. I was just afraid that story was going to end with you burying her in your backyard."
"No, at least, not yet." I chuckled, taking a seat next to Will, leaning on his shoulder.
"I'm really sorry you have to deal with that, I can't imagine how tired I'd feel living with someone like that." Will grabbed a hold of my hand gently, leaning his head on mine.
I wore a tight lipped smile, exhaling sharply through my nose. "It's not the greatest, but it could be worse."
"Doesn't make your situation any less valid."
"Yeah, yeah, I know...just like how she prays for me to see the light, I do the same for her. She doesn't appreciate it though. But, I guess that's fair considering I don't appreciate her thought and prayers."
Will turned to look at me, smiling softly. "You are perfect just the way you are. She's the one who has to change, not you, because you were made this way, just like everybody else who has their own orientations. One day, you'll be free of her. You'll be free to live however you want to live, and you'll be able to cut her out of your life if you choose to do so. You just have to be patient, but I promise, you'll be happy."
I wrote this so I can be fine, so don't worry. I am fine. I promise.
oh beloved writer can you please write a christmas date imagine for will poulter (even though it’s still summer) just pure fluff, where the reader and will go out to like a diner and then go buy a tree for their apartment (it’s their first christmas living together) and set it up and dance to christmas music and it’s super domestic and soft and fluffy thank you bff
Of course, my love! And hey, if Christmas in July can be a thing, so can Christmas in August. And oh boy, I made this one so sweet you might get cavities, so just, beware of that.
~~~~~~~~~~
You were excited, to put it lightly. This was the first Christmas you and you partner, Will, would be having while living together. You knew it was cheesy, but you wanted it to feel special.
You made reservations at this really fancy restaurant in the fanciest part of town. A bit over the top on your part, but you wanted to make this Christmas one to remember fondly.
You still haven't gotten a tree yet, so that was on your to-do list as well. You hoped there would be some nice trees to choose from.
Some people would've probably thought you were going mad with how much you wanted everything to be perfect, and yeah, you kind of were. But you completely ignored your logic and reasoning.
You bought a really nice outfit for yourself to wear to the restaurant, Christmassy but not too Christmassy, you weren't wearing reindeer antlers or red and green bells. It was simple, may or may not to somewhat match Will's outfit that he was going to wear.
With Will's hand in yours, you walked to your car and headed to the restaurant and got there a few minutes early, which was historical for you. You smiled along with Will as you entered the warm building, a pleasant contrast from the winter cold outside. "Hi! Reservation for L/n?" You asked bubbly, the evening already going so well that you were sure nothing could dampen your spirits.
It took a minute for the hostess to check, as the place was fairly busy due to the holidays. "Um, I'm sorry, I don't see your name here."
You immediately tensed, a half a second of anger bolting through you before you simply smiled understandingly. "Can you double check, please? I'm certain it's there, I called this in a week ago." You chuckled nervously.
"I'm sorry, but there is no reservation under L/n."
Your smiled dropped, your eye involuntarily twitching a couple times before your cleared your throat. "That...that can't be right."
Will turned to you, placing a gentle hand on your shoulder. "Hey, it's okay. It happens. We can just go somewhere else." He smiled softly. You frowned in response, turning back to the hostess with pleading eyes, only to get a tight lipped smile as another apology.
You hung your head for a second, before walking out of the building at a quick pace, dead silent as you sat back in your car. Will cautiously got into the car, anxiously anticipating your eventual release of your frustration.
"What the fuck?!" You yelled into your steering wheel, causing Will to jump at the sudden outburst, even when he was expecting it. "I booked that table a week ago! Will, you were right next to me when I called the place!" You pleaded to no one, feeling defeated and pissed off. "Ugh..." You drawled out, collapsing against your seat.
Will couldn't help but chuckle at your cute pouting face, reaching over to gently massage your thigh. "It's okay, darling! This is just a minor setback. I'm sure there are other places we can go."
Yes, there were other places you could go, none of them fancy restaurants. You felt even more defeated when you had to settle for some fast food place. This is absolutely not how you wanted this evening to go.
You stared down at your burger and fries with distain. "This should be an overpriced steak at an overpriced fancy restaurant with live music, arrogant chefs and overly nice waiters who wear really fancy suits and ties." You mumbled.
Will raised an eyebrow. "That doesn't sound quite as nice as being in an almost empty fast food place with no one to bother us. And I quite like my food, I haven't found a single hair in it, so it's practically 5-star."
You rolled your eyes as you chuckled at his silliness. "At least we still get to pick out a Christmas tree, that should be fun."
"Hopefully we won't get hypothermia out in this weather. So, what type of tree are you thinking we get?"
You smiled dreamily. "I've always wanted a full, thick Frasier fir."
"Ambitious. A Frasier fir it is."
It might've been a bit too ambitious, because when you got to one of the only places in town that sold Christmas trees, there were no such trees in sight. They had all been sold out apparently. No worry, there would probably be one at another place. Nope, none there. So, you drove to the last place in town and lo and behold, no thick firs in sight.
"I think the world's against me."
Will trapped you in a hug from behind as you stood dumbfounded at the selection of trees available. Some of them could give Charlie Brown's Christmas tree a run for its money.
"What about that one?" Will pointed towards the corner of the small field you two stood in.
You laughed when you finally saw what he was looking at. The tree was a fir, but it looked so bare that you could call it a Charlie Brown tree. "You can't be serious."
"I'm deadly serious." He smirked, letting you go to jog eagerly to the pitiful looking tree. You chuckled sadly as he held onto it, the thing wasn't even as tall as Will, and even skinnier. "Ain't it a beauty?" He said in a slightly Australian accent, almost cringing at himself.
No.
"I guess."
The look of pure childlike joy on Will's face, you couldn't deny him that stupid tree. It was so small, you could probably fit it in your car, but you didn't want to clean up all the needles it would shed. It fastened to the roof of your car easily, too easily.
By the time you had set it up in your living room with Will, the tree kind of grew on you; it was like an ugly dog, so ugly it was cute, you supposed. Once it had all the decorations on, it didn't look too bad, but it still wasn't what you hoped for. It seemed this whole day you planned out to the T, nothing went the way you wanted it to, and that was a bit disheartening. What annoyed you, surprisingly, was Will's overwhelming optimism. Usually, it was endearing, but today was not one of those days where you needed optimism.
"You okay, Y/n?" Will asked intuitively.
"It's just...this day went to shit. How can you be so...perfect?"
Will blushed at your phrasing, but he knew what you meant. "I was annoyed with certain things today, the restaurant issues, for sure. But, it wasn't enough to put me in a bad mood all day. I chose to let it go so that we could have a good time, that's all."
You frowned, suddenly feeling really guilty. "I was in such a bad mood all day." You huffed, taking a seat on your couch. "I ruined this whole day..."
"No!" Will rushed over to you. "I didn't mean it like that, I-"
"I know, but you're right. I shouldn't have acted like such a child. I'm sorry."
Will smiled sadly. "Darling, you certainly did not ruin anything. None of this was your fault and you behaved how any normal person would. But even after all that happened, I still had an amazing time. We had a nice, quiet dinner. And we got our own little Charlie Brown tree." He chuckled. "Didn't you have a nice time too?"
You smiled sheepishly. "I did."
"We don't have to go to the fanciest restaurant or buy the nicest Christmas tree to have a nice time together. We could've stayed inside all day and I wouldn't have cared, just being here with you is what makes me the happiest."
You couldn't help but lean forwards to kiss him, so incredibly grateful that he was in your life. "Well, I'd say our first Christmas will be one to remember."
"Oh, it's not over yet." He added, causing you to furrow your brows in curiosity. He only winked as he walked to the other side of the room, fiddling with the record player.
"No..." You groaned playfully as Last Christmas by Wham! echoed through your apartment.
Will nodded, a cheeky smile playing on his lips. "Oh yeah, come on." He held out his hand to you, motioning for you to take it. You giggled as he started to lip sync the lyrics, shimmying his shoulders as he still waiting for you to take his hand.
"Oh my god." You blushed, finally taking his hand and him instantly pulling you up and grabbing you by the waist to pull you into a hug, violently swaying to the music. "Will!" You laughed uncontrollably.
"What? You don't like my dance moves?" He grinned.
"You're gonna break me if you keep doing that." You grinned back.
Will shook his head, toning down the fast swaying and settled into a relaxing sway, looking into your eyes fondly. "You're the best thing that's ever happened to me."
You blushed, resting your head and hiding your face on his chest, the sound of his heartbeat much better music than any Christmas song you've ever listened to.

bruh...this...was so fluffy I almost died. I hope me almost dying of fluffiness was worth it to you, @poulterfilms
hi i was wondering if you could write a will poulter fic where he comforts the reader (who’s a college senior) because they’re constantly studying and working because they were the forgotten kid and told by their family members that they were lazy and would never amount to anything so they work really hard at school to prove them wrong, so will helps them with their work and tells them that they’re so smart and that he’s proud of them <3
Well that's kind of a little close to home lmao. But of course, sweet Anon😊

You roughly shut your laptop closed and slammed your palms down on your desk in frustration, immediately feeling the harsh sting from the force of your outburst.
You had been trying to write one of your essays for one of your final classes all day, not getting anywhere but a few paragraphs that you weren't even happy with.
You still had a few days until it was supposed to be turned in, but you thought you'd get an early start and try to finish half of it. For some reason, you just couldn't find the right words and information you needed to get the required amount of pages. You quickly got frustrated, and you just couldn't try anymore.
You looked at the clock on your phone: 8 pm. You started at 2 pm. You really needed to relax, but how could you do that when your future is literally in your hands?
This was typical behavior for you, always stressing out about school and your future.
Ever since you were young, you basically had to raise yourself. Your siblings were always your parents' favorites. You always got the hand-me-downs. Your siblings' were always the ones who got the brand new car for their birthday, always the first ones who are asked where they want to eat, the ones who got financial support when they decided they wanted to go to college. You got none of that.
You didn't know why, but it always felt like your whole existence wasn't welcomed by your parents, even though they made you. They were always so disappointed in you, even though you never though you did anything to earn those feelings from them. Every day, you tried to please them. Every day, you went the extra mile just to try and be as good as your siblings.
You got straight A's in school. From K through 12, you worked your ass off to try and live up to your parents' standards. You were valedictorian, and your parents didn't even blink an eye. They didn't even go to your high school graduation. They always told you that you would go nowhere in life, and they didn't even show up so you could see them proven wrong.
Since you had no support from your family, you managed to get financial aid, which helped a lot. And just like your high school academic career, you kept up your typical straight A status. You kept receiving financial aid, and you even got invited to various sororities/fraternities due to your constant good grades.
Eventually, you met Will, and he was a person who you've never personally encountered before. He was so supportive, and kind, something you never gotten from your family or friends. You had no idea how to react to him at first, you had to get used to thinking that he was just kind naturally with no ulterior motives. He helped you overcome a lot of your insecurities, helped you learn how to live with them, and that meant the world to you.
It didn't take long for the two of you to become a couple. You were so afraid that you were moving too fast, having done that in the past, but Will was so different from people you've dated before. He was so reassuring and didn't pressure you into anything, another rarity.
You remember one day, you got the first B in your entire life. You sobbed all morning. You felt like such a failure. Will didn't understand why it was such a big deal, but he tried to comfort you as best he could until you calmed down. You decided that was the moment you should tell him everything.
He was the only person you opened up to, telling him about your family and upbringing. He was devastated for you, but every day, he made it a habit of telling you how much you meant to him and how much he loved you. When he first started doing that, you couldn't help but be moved to tears. That's when you realized you were in love with him too.
You needed his support right now.
And it's like he read your mind from the other room, or probably just heard the slam of your laptop, and entered your room to see your angered flustered face with your arms crossed rightly across your chest, taking deep breaths. He could almost see the hot steam radiating off the top of your head. "Essay not going well, darling?"
Hearing his calming voice made you ease up a little bit instantly, and you responded with a weary smile. "Obvious, huh?"
"Hopefully you didn't damage your computer." Will chuckled, walking over to you and leaning down to hug you from behind, his chin resting on the top of your head as he interlocked his arms just beneath your neck.
"I'm just getting really frustrated with this essay." You mumbled. "I feel so stupid not knowing how to write this damn thing."
"Hey." Will turned you head to the side to look at him, a serious expression on his face. "You're not stupid, Y/n. You're so incredibly smart, the smartest person I've ever met." He placed a gentle peck on your lips, giving you a reassuring smile. "You're just having an off day, everyone had those. Okay? Maybe stop for tonight, eat something, rest, do whatever, just try to not think about this essay for the rest of the night. You'll get back at it tomorrow with a clear head. And hey, I'll even help you. How about that?"
You chuckled. "You'd help me write this essay?"
A light blush dusted Will's cheeks, a smirk gracing his lips. "Well, I can't say I'd be much help. But I can try my best."
You leaned over to kiss Will sweetly, smiling as you pulled away. "Just being here to talk me down is enough for me, love."
~~~~~~~~~~
Man, I wish I had a Will to help me get through difficult essays...
hiii could you do a will poulter imagine where he comes home from set early and sees his best friend/roommate home and when he asks them what’s wrong he realizes they’re sick and spends the entire day taking care of them and won’t let them do anything cuz he doesn’t want them to work themselves too hard and the reader who’s kinda loopy from a fever confesses their feelings for him?
So cute! I love it. Hope you enjoy, sweet Anon😊
~~~~~~~~~~
Will sighed in relief as he entered his cool house, the air conditioning feeling so nice after working on an outside set in the hot sun.
Filming was supposed to last until the sun went down, but everyone was allowed to leave early due to a rare case of getting certain shots in only a couple takes. Either way, Will appreciated it, he didn't fancy getting sunburned even when he wore plenty of sunscreen.
Will was also happy to leave set early so he could see you, his roommate.
You and Will had been living together for a couple years now. You two had already been close friends, he just so happened to need a roommate, and you needed a place to stay. It all worked out very nicely.
Unfortunately for Will, he developed a bit of a intense crush on you over the years, and he found it incredibly difficult trying to act like he didn't when you lived with him. He'd never forgive himself for secretly staring at you when you came out of your room for breakfast with nothing but shorts, that were practically underwear, and an oversized shirt. He pretty much had to stop himself from drooling.
You got comfortable living with Will quickly, behaving how you would if you were living by yourself. He did say make yourself at home, and that's exactly what you did, and Will honestly didn't have any issues with it. You cleaned up after yourself, you were respectful of his privacy, you were the perfect roommate, but you did dress however you liked inside the house with zero embarrassment. So Will didn't really have anyone to blame but himself.
Usually, when Will gets home from a set, you'd greet him at the door, ready to cook or order dinner for the night. But today, you weren't at the door. Will found you in the living room, sat on the couch with a sour look on your face. "Y/n? I'm home."
Will only heard a mumbled, "Hi."
"Got off set early. So, we might be able to go out for dinner this time."
Again, Will only heard you hum in response. What was the matter with you? Usually, you were pretty cheerful. You had always wanted to go out to eat somewhere with Will, but never could due to his busy schedule. He thought you'd be over the moon right now, but you looked pretty out of it.
Will walked over and kneeled in front of you, looking over you with concern. You were pale, a thin sheen of sweat coating your face, and you could barely keep your eyes open. He quickly placed the back of his hand to your forehead. "Oh, you're burning up." Will expressed sadly. "How long have you been feeling like this?"
You shrugged weakly. "Woke up like this." You mumbled, even talking was taking too much energy.
"Oh, you poor thing. Come on, let's get you to bed." Will then helped you to your feet, but you wobbled and had to lean on him so you wouldn't fall over.
You whined. "No, I have things to do today. I can't..." You trailed off, not being able to finish your sentences.
"You're sick. You have a fever. I am not letting you do anything but sleep today." You let out another mumbled whine, but Will couldn't make out what you said, more like ignored in case it was another complain about him trying to take care of you.
You frowned as Will laid you down onto your bed, you've always felt bad when other people had to take care of you, but you were thankful as soon as you felt your soft mattress.
Will blushed under your sleepy gaze as he tucked you in, making sure you were comfortable. "If you need anything, just say the word. I'll just be in the living room." But before Will could leave, you grabbed onto his hand. "What is it?"
"You're so nice to me." You chuckled weakly.
Will smiled. "Well, I can't let you get even more sick, now, can I?"
"No, you've always been nice to me, ever since we met. You're like, the sweetest person I've ever known." Will couldn't help but chuckle silently as you slurred your words slightly, but he still felt the weight and genuineness in your words even when you were sick. "You're just...amazing, Will."
Will tried not to blush again, but he knew he failed when he felt his face heat up almost instantly. He was happy you felt that way about him, but he still wished you felt more for him like he did, but he knew he would just have to be content being your best friend.
"I'd love to kiss you right now, but I don't wanna give you whatever I've got."
Will froze. Did...did he hear that right? "What?" He stuttered.
You repeated yourself, but it came out a little muffled as your tried to fight off how sleepy you felt. "I've liked you for a...awhile." You attempted to chuckle. "I thought you'd notice by now honestly."
Will was thankful your eyes were closed because he must've looked a red as a tomato right now. You liked him. You actually liked him back. But what if you're so sick that you had no idea what was going on? That was possible right? A hundred thoughts ran through Will's head, trying to find some excuse as to why you may not have meant what you said, but he couldn't come up with one other than you actually did mean it. Maybe this was his only chance of telling you how he felt.
"I like you too, Y/n. I have for awhile."
You brought Will's hand up to your lips, kissing the back of his hand as you felt yourself falling asleep, still holding his hand.
Will couldn't believe it. He almost pinched himself to see if this was all a dream. But feeling your soft hand against his was enough to ground him to reality. He tried to pull away, but you had a tight grip on his hand and he didn't want to wake you. It might've felt wrong to Will and he might get sick, but he got into bed beside you, still not letting go of your hand.
You looked peaceful as you slept. Hopefully you wouldn't mind Will sleeping beside you whenever you woke up. To be fair, you probably wouldn't have let go of Will's hand unless he pried it out which would've woken you up, and Will knows how much you like your sleep. It would just have to be dealt with later.
And later, you did wake up with a clearer head. By the way your room was dim with a dark blue tint, it was just after sundown, but you could still make out the silhouette that belonged to Will.
You gently released the vice grip you had on his hand, smiling as he let out soft snores. So it wasn't a fever dream. You actually confessed your feelings for him, and he confessed his. It wasn't exactly how you wanted to tell him, but you guess you could be thankful for getting this fever.
You reached over and poked Will's cheek, eliciting an annoyed hum from him. But he quickly realized where he was and looked to you with wide eyes. "Uh, I didn't mean to fall asleep here, I swear. It's just, uh-"
"It's okay, Will." You spoke softly.
Will smiled in relief, turning over to face you. "Are you feeling better?"
"Mhm. Thanks to you, I would say."
"You, uh, remember what happened?"
"I do." You grabbed onto his hand once again, rubbing your thumb over his knuckles.
"So, you meant what you said?"
"Of course I did. What? Did you think I was joking?"
"I was hoping you weren't." Will blushed as you kissed the back of his hand again. "I'd very much like to kiss you too."
"I don't want you to get sick, Will. Once I get over this, you can kiss me all you like." You smiled.
"I will definitely take you up on that."
