I thought of something cool..

What if RWBY had characters based off of monsters (horror, fantasy, sci-fi, folklore, mythology, or religion)?

Hear me out…

Vampire/Dracula: Bat Faunus with … Semblance

Werewolf/Wolf Man: Wolf Faunus with wind Semblance (y’know, like the Big Bad Wolf)

Frankenstein’s Monster: Human-Grimm or human-robot hybrid with electricity Semblance

Mad Scientist: Human with electricity Semblance

Mummy: Human-Grimm hybrid with wrapping Semblance

Creature of Black Lagoon: Fish Faunus with water Semblance

Invisible Man: Human with invisibility Semblance

Phantom of the Opera: Human with song Semblance

Igor: … with … Semblance

Jekyll and Hyde: Human with … Semblance

Witch: (idk since Glynda exists) Human with … Semblance

Ghost: … with intangibility Semblance (think Mirio from BNHA/MHA)

Skeleton: … with bone Semblance

Zombie: Human-Grimm hybrid with … Semblance

Plant Monster: Human with plant Semblance

Gorgon/Medusa: Snake Faunus with petrification Semblance

Pumpkin Monster: Human with plant(?) Semblance (a little redundant)

Demon: Bat Faunus with fire Semblance

Angel: Dove Faunus with … Semblance

Gargoyle: Chimera(?) Faunus with stone Semblance (another redundant Semblance)

Goblin: … with … Semblance

I couldn’t think of anything species and/or Semblances for some of the monsters, but it would be cool if someone created an OC/team based on them.

While I haven't read the novel myself, I remember reading that the original Mr. Hyde was actually closer to the Garwolf, in that Jekyll deliberately transforms into Hyde in order to act out his immoral impulses without fear of consequences, rather than it being purely involuntary like it is in many later tellings.

Who's your favorite of the classic universal monsters and why? (based solely on their portrayals in the universal movies, sequels and crossovers included, not their original book counterparts.)

The Wolf Man, because the character was both written and performed so well that he basically redefined what werewolves are in Western culture. None of the other Universal monsters can claim that impact, and since they never recast him, he also remains the most consistently well characterized and acted monster from film to film. Dracula and Frankenstein got their characters shaved down in sequel after sequel, but Lon Chaney Jr. made sure Larry Talbot was never less than his best.

~Mr Wolf Love Headcanons Lol :)~

(I haven't watched the movie yet, I just love this guy, so if I get any major character traits wrong in this I'm sorry)

He's a charmer alright, and the fact that he's so smitten with you specifically is a huge honor

He's a huge flirt, he always manages to sneak in a flattering remark in every conversation with you

It's a whole other story if you flirt back, make a little remark about how cute he is and he gets a bit red. you might even make his tail wag a bit

He's the type to keep his arm on your shoulder while walking in public, because deep inside, he's incredibly proud just to be by your side

He noticed that whenever he shows off a fang or two in his smile, you blush a bit. So now when he smirks at you, he remembers to give you a good glimpse of his teeth. (and you melt inside)

He likes to use cheesy pet names sometimes, if he's feeling smug enough. sometimes he accidentally says them in front of his friends. And just to make him sweat a bit, you call him one back.

There was one occasion where he flirted with you using one of these pet names, and because you were feeling brave, you leaned over to him up close, and said "wow, thanks. You're such a good boy.". His tail began to wag like crazy and you chuckled to yourself a bit.
