Ayyyy Im Back Again!!! For The Past 2 Months Or So School Was Hard, But Now Im Like 2 Days Away From

Ayyyy im back again!!! For the past 2 Months or so school was hard, but now im like 2 days away from summer break so i can back to drawing silly states yay

These doodles (although very lazy, sorry) were inspired by (and have direct quotes from) @flarefoxxx ‘s amazing fanfic “Workplace crush”, cuz Gov/Greg has been making my brain rot for these months that I’ve been inactive and i just needed to draw something with these two (and so help me god i will combust if someone makes a fanfic of these two getting together) 😼

Important to mention that the designs that i do for the states may change a lot throughout every drawing of mine as im gonna study anatomy AND do some research about each state during the summer to try to find out kore about them

(And please if you want to ask me to draw something pls dont be afraid to drop it in my ask box, i have almost 0 ideas of what to draw 😿)

Empty Seats

There are empty seats at the dinner table. Not many, but they are there.

———————————————————————

There are many Government Departments that are proposed, many that never come into being. Departments that never get a seat at their ever-expanding dinner table.

Adam and Robin mourn what could have been, but they feel no real attachment. They never existed, they never lived, and thus they never died.

Out of all their children, their departments and their states and their human friends who had nowhere else to go, only two of their personified children had passed.

The Department of the Navy; Russell Jones.

The Department of Commerce and Labor; Clementine Jones.

Russell passed in 1947, seemingly overnight. Nothing left of him, but the gaping holes in their souls where he once occupied is all they needed to know. They woke, and their oldest child– Robert, who once had both blue eyes, now had one green.

Russell had green, and whatever being decided which of their children passed and merged with another decided that the younger Department of Navy would merge with War and fade from existence. His seat at their dinner table remains untouched.

Clementine passed in 1913, still only a teenager in body and 10 years alive. She was replaced by Mary and Jason, when the Dept. of Commerce and Labor split into two departments. Her seat barely had the time to leave its mark at the dinner table.

Their departments may not be made the same way Adam and Robin are, but they’re closer to their parents make-up than the States. States shatter and they change, they never leave anything behind because their body recycles itself.

Governments and other personifications similar to them– agencies, departments, services– fragment in similar ways. But they leave nothing. They don’t reform. They leave no bodies. Adam and Robin don’t know what higher power their departments are connected to, the place to which they return, but that doesn’t make it hurt less.

They couldn’t bring their children back, you can’t bring government personifications back from death.

Postmaster, their little Paige, hadn’t died. Not quite. But, he had changed. The post offices were privatized and their child changed with them. He wasn’t their Paige anymore, he left and never came back. They see him, sometimes, when he delivers the mail.

He doesn’t recognize them. He doesn’t remember them.

It feels like he did die. His seat at the table still empty.

…

And there had been a human, the only human they loved like a child. More than their parents and children’s human friends– no, it was as if he was their actual child.

A boy named Gregory, he had no last name when they met him, 8-years-old and living on the streets in the early 1990’s. They would have taken him, plucked him off those streets and taken him home.

But, for some reason, they couldn’t. They couldn’t make a human immortal, couldn’t keep him and knew it’d hurt more when he died of old age. But, they helped him. They found a place, they found him a family. They studied them, made sure they would do well and do right by the child they had already decided was theirs.

But it didn't work.

Gregory caught an illness, and it was left untreated for too long. They had been in Europe the entire time, and returned to find him gone.

…

But humans were easier to bring back. It would take effort, they only brought back the dead as corpses to do their bidding and to punish their wretched souls.

Gregory had been a kind boy, quiet even. They couldn’t do that to him.

It took a while, he wasn’t perfect by any stretch– some of his skin was a bit grayer than would be considered healthy, his eyes a tad too cloudy. Quieter, they couldn’t quite repair his voice, but he was back.

He wasn’t human, not anymore. He was too different.

More like them.

He still enjoyed reading, still enjoyed recording and people-watching. He was still Gregory, still the little Greg they remember walking home when they found him out in the evenings. He still grows and ages like a human, but once he reaches a certain point that will stop. He’ll be alive as long as they are, he will have his seat at the dinner table

Yet, the empty seats at their dinner table– the ones left by their departed departments and agencies and (for the longest time) their avoidant States still mock them.

hi!! I was wondering if there was any random headcannons you had about either states or Adam and Robin

I have a few off the top of my head :D

__________________________________

-- Adam and Robin are both Very Asexual, and only attracted to each other. Trying to be a Homewrecker with these two will end horribly.

-- Greg is an undead. As a human child, he met Adam and Robin a few times. When he died in a horrific accident as a young preteen, they brought him back and adopted him.

-- Greg is mute!

-- Boe (WV) has a pet rosy maple moth named Rosie

-- Boe is Best Friends with all the WV cryptids.

-- Boe is dating John Deere! Boe is the Jack Hoffmen of States and I will die on this hill.

-- Ivan and Gabriel (Alaska and Texas) are really nice guys, and kinda shy, but they have epic mean faces and can make themselves appear very intimidating.

-- John (Georgia), despite being Gabriel’s height, is too nice and Teddy Bear to intimidate people unless he’s angry. Then people remember that a Teddy Bear is still a bear.

-- Ivan and Gabriel learned to be scary from Adam. Man is Dad To The Max, but he is still the Personification of the United States, and he can be terrifying when he wants to be.

-- Adam and Robin make all their kids stuffed animals, with the animals name sewn on one of the limbs

-- Ian (Florida) and Robin have a running tally of who had football-tackled more police officers. It’s currently a tie.

-- Adam has met Santa Claus.

-- Countries being on good terms does not mean the Personifications are! Several Government and Assistant Personifications are not allowed to be in the same room as Adam or Robin, it’s attack on sight.

-- Adam and Robin can replace people they erase! I implied it in ‘Must Be Mistaken’

-- Robin eats people. It’s not cannibalism, since she’s not human, but she does eat people. Adam too, but only sometimes.

-- The basement of the Jones Residence, where only Adam and Robin are allowed to enter, is full of trophies from people and personifications they’ve killed. The walls look like the French catacombs with all the skulls.

-- Adam and Robin also engage in human experimentation from time to time! Remember the chimeras from Full Metal Alchemist? That type of stuff. They only do it to bad people, and they also just don’t care. The only humans Adam and Robin care about are their family members.

-- If Adam and Robin ever die, they can never be reformed. Getting the exact same fragment from Eternity or Infinity is impossible. Other personifications can reform as the same people, Governments can not.

-- Robin represents in small parts of the Government; the interns, cubicle workers, receptionists, all the little pieces that make everything run. Adam is the big pieces; the President, the Senate, the HoR.

-- Adam’s immune system is trash and it has always been trash 👍 that will never change.

-- The OG’s had to teach Adam and Robin how to act human, blinking, chewing, breathing and all.

-- No one knows that Adam and Robin are fragments. Only other Fragments know. All the Politicians know is that they’re terrifying and Will Eat Them.

-- Adam and Robin are petty as hell and have a ‘Petty Schedule’ to determine who messes with which politician this time. This is reserved for the people who annoy them, but they aren’t annoyed enough to hurt them.

-- Adam has been torn in half by a cannonball before. He has also been shot, stabbed, blown up, burned, and I’m sure there are other things he has yet to talk about. Only Robin knows about most of these.

-- Adam and Robin can regrow limbs! If they break a bone, and manage to get away for a few hours, they’ll just cut it off and let it grow back good as new.

-- Adam and Robin can either have no organs or too many of one specific organ. Or whatever they think is funnier at the time.

-- In Verse, ‘The Thing’ is based on a witness that saw Robin eat someone. She looked freaky as hell and had the time of her life.

-- Adam and Robin have multiple forms, which I have talked about already in a previous post.

-- Adam and Robin are so in love it gives me a toothache
