a case of night terrors (I'll stay with you until the morning comes)

A/N: draft for chaos theory, chapter one

originally i was gonna open this up with a scenic description of the factory to charlie's house but i decided to tickle in a little wonka/wilkinson before delving into willy's night terror problems, because it would go accordingly to the flow of the narrative

Work inside the factory has been completely and utterly restless, Wilkinson felt his entire body had gone sore from exhaustion. Besides running errands throughout the entire evening, managing tax reforms and attempting to humor commercial magnates seeking promotion, he was also left in charge of the paperwork that never quite ceased to pile on his desk.

William had sequestered inside the Inventing Room by early lunchtime. During which, Wilkinson was supposed to deliver message to him regarding the various clientele awaiting his arrival near the office.

They all came barreling through the factory gates, each sporting a black luxury suit, with a glint of their silver brooch around the necktie and a distinct air of haughtiness disguised in a thin veil of sophistication. Four gentlemen had been eager to invest in William’s current line of production, they stated. But – strike that – there had been no time to waste on “business”. Especially if business meant rubbing shoulders with outside people. Wilkinson recalled, an unconcealed distaste schooling William’s expression.

His employer had a blatant disregard for corporate matters.

Which means those record scripts, and those angry voice calls and a manifold of complaints would never see the light of day under his supervision. Which meant more paper due to be signed, and a whole weekend of skimming through sales bracket and accounts, which also meant.. no breaks promised. So as long as William Wonka – greatest chocolatier, greatest inventor and god knows what other ‘greats’ he’s known to have accomplished thus far - would never give them a piece of mind. Doubtedly so, if he ever did.

He loves to keep the rest of the world guessing, if it’s to let them remain, as always, in his arm’s length. He ensures that ugliness will never even reach his sanctum.

By that reason then prompted Wilkinson (against his will) to deal matters with his own hands, alone, and when he had specifically declined those four gentlemen’s appointment with his employer after a series of back and forths, predictably, they lashed out, used him as a tool to verbally eviscerate before strutting out the door in the most ridiculous way they could. It was delightful to witness, he couldn’t be mad even if he tried, he would’ve laughed too. However, he didn’t want to risk the chance of hearing their nasally voice grating his ears anymore.

As he returned to his desk, the paperwork increased by a fraction. It was worth the shot.

That night, he dragged his feet through the motley-colored flooring, all the way to his and William’s shared apartment. Closing the entrance haphazardly on his way in, Wilkinson’s gaze lingered on William’s back facing him as he sat hunched over the vanity mirror. He can tell from appearance, and the way he’s teetering on the edge of sleep from the heavy bags under William’s eye, that they’re both in desperate need of rest, more than they would like to admit.

With slow heavy steps, he sauntered towards William and raked his fingers through the curls of his frazzled hair, neatly combing them in place. William abruptly tensed but soon released a tired hum, as he relaxed his head against Wilkinson’s chest in response to the welcome sensation.

“Exhausted, my dear?” Wilkinson placed a gentle kiss ontop of his temple.

William gazed lovingly up at him in reply with a warm smile, “You have no idea.”

Wilkinson removed himself behind William. And, lazily, without hesitation, plummeted ontop of the bed, he breathed a sigh against the soft mattress, nuzzling his face on the pillows.

William shortly joins him thereafter, scooting his body close to where he could fit himself in Wilkinson’s arms like a puzzle piece. He inhaled his lover’s scent, distinctly capturing the smell of faint dust and almond paper trail.

They lay there, unperturbed by the buzzing noise of working machinery distant from their bedroom and only letting themselves be engulfed in the warm reverie of each other’s embrace.

After suffering at the hands of their own selfishness and cruelty, the children and parents are taken to a wing in the hospital wing that is for mental trauma more than physical and are given the option to live in the factory.

All of the children talk it over and decide, with or without their parent’s say, that they want to live there, away from the things that made them so spoiled.

10 years later, the former children are running the show of the factory and succeeding very well. Charlie is the face of the company and head Chocolatier, Veruca handles the budgets and is a sponsor thanks to her father’s business, Violet is head Marketing and Sales due to being able to crush the competition, Augustus works as the main taste tester and flavor maker, and Mike Teavee works as head of technology and innovation.

Some of the things that has happened to them has forever changed them, however. Violet is still very very blue, however hair dye and make up has been able to help cover that up. Veruca still has small scars all over her from being scratched by the squirrels. She also never goes into that room of the factory ever. Augustus still has a habit of biting his fingers when he dips his hand in chocolate and hurts himself doing so. Mike has what the others call a ‘glitch’, but is diagnosed as Alice in Wonderland syndrome, perceiving himself to be smaller than he actually is. A few Oompa Loompas are stationed around each child to help them out.

As they grow, they become one big family and help each other through their issues, even if it means putting off a day’s work to comfort their friends.

Semi-back. Recently we've been working on Videos r.e. our experiences with DID, so expect a lot of the art we post to be related to that at the moment. Whether it be alter photos, experience-sketches, etc.

... or Wonkaposting.

Or, most likely both. Because childhood trauma resulted in us being eternally haunted by a psychologically trialling chocolate factory. ✨✨👌 it's not as weird as it sounds, I promise lmao

For mild context, here's an emulation of the place for a series we've been working on. You don't need to have watched the others to understand the vibe, and the opening section actually explains it:

You Know, Since Theres An Active Fandom These Days, Ill Reupload This:

You know, since there’s an active fandom these days, I’ll reupload this:

Factory Rejects: pg 1 & 2 a post-tour WWatCF comic concept

We made these back in... 2014 I think? It was planned to be based around the psychological effects of the factory on the ticket winners, plus the recovery and eventual friendship between some very troubled kids. Because let’s be real: Willy Wonka was the antagonist.

We decided to take them down after we realised the story was partially mirroring our DID System’s introjects of said characters, and also after a particular subset of the fandom began to discover the comic.

There was one other comic page, which we might post another time.

DID Introjects, Not Fanart Reblogs Are Fine
DID Introjects, Not Fanart Reblogs Are Fine

DID introjects, not fanart ▸ reblogs are fine

Some sketches of our Mike & his mother, Dolly.

These two are a great example of the healing that's finally been happening within the Factory Cluster, and it warms my heart to see. Dolly- Mrs. Teavee, sourced from the musical- unfortunately lost her son in the tour; she's been so scared of the whole factory, that besides one or two outer-factory trips, she's refused to leave her room for years.

So when Mike- sourced from the first movie, but fused with the second- reawoke, now a young adult, she was quite nervous. She didn't want to see him because it hurt too much at it not being her Mike. But he sort of persisted in that mischievous way he does, and barriers were broken, and she adopted him as her own son because it felt right. It was a form of acceptance for the mind to heal.

Dolly used to refuse to even talk about her son, but I'm allowed to say all this here because she's personally spoken about the whole thing on stream, which is... something we didn't think would ever happen. She's healed a lot, and she's helped Mike a lot with his own anxiety around the Factory. Sadly she still won't leave her room, but it's small steps.

Willy Wonka &tCF - Factory Rejects - 'Fool's Gold'

Willy Wonka &tCF - Factory Rejects - 'Fool's Gold'

And here's that other Factory Rejects page from 2016-ish. We actually still really like the vibe of this one.

posting this is making me want to doodle the continuation more- not a comic, just scribbles. Like, we had a lot of plot ideas done, and they included a lot of minor characters too (we absolutely snuck west-end cherry sundae into this because she's fabulous) if anyone has any questions on it, please do send us an ask and we might doodle them out.

CatCFember - Day 10 - Veruca Salt

We only found out about CatCFember three days ago, so we're a little late to the challenge.

DID Introjects, Not Fanart Please Do Not Reblog

DID introjects, not fanart ▸ please do not reblog

so we do art-request streams, and there's a 'CatCF: Chat's Choice' option in the freebies. What this entails, is chat all voting for who they want to see drawn...

shoutout to the time they straight-up majority voted 'Violet & Veruca, but make it gay'. Of which our system's Vi hijacked to draw something nice for our Veruca.

A little context: Vi's been in our system for about two actual decades, Veruca a little less than that. They've both since grown up since, and their purposes have unfortunately caused them to grow apart. Veruca's recently been deep inner world looking after her heavily traumatised father, so this... is actually an incredibly lovely thing to do, as they can't spend much time together.

CatCFember - Day 13 - Violet B. (Factory Rejects)

CatCFember - Day 13 - Violet B. (Factory Rejects)

Post-Factory Violet had a lot of confidence issues, and one most prominent was regarding her discolouration. For the majority of the planned story, she wore contrasting bright colours (never blue) and covered as much as skin as she could.

Her story- like the others- was very much 'coming to terms with change caused by trauma, and accepting that this is your life now'. She did, eventually; but it took a lot of time, a lot of internalised rejection, and eventually a support system of people who care (and fighting her dad, who was handling his own fear in all the wrong ways).

Charlie Bucket Had Never Been As Recluse As His Mentor. In Fact, He Had Become Somewhat Of A Face For

Charlie Bucket had never been as recluse as his mentor. In fact, he had become somewhat of a face for the Wonka Corporation as a whole. Whether by interview or event, through paper or screen, the world had had the pleasure of witnessing the heir grow into a charming, smart, yet sometimes obsessive young man (though the first trait often masked the last).

That was, until the day he vanished.

The Factory went silent once more: no one ever went in, no one ever came out, and the name 'Charlie Bucket' ceased to appear in any official document. For years, the unsolved mystery of his trace-less disappearance cropped up again and again...

It wasn't until history repeated itself, that the familiar face reappeared: Five Golden Tickets, and an appearance from Willy Wonka himself.

CatCFember - Day 15 - Parents DID Introjects, Not Fanart

CatCFember - Day 15 - Parents ▸ DID introjects, not fanart

Our system has introjected more of the CatCF parents than it has 'kids', and we'd been meaning to finish their alter cards for tIW for ages...

so we decided to double up CatCFember today. momsquad.
