Why is the first draft always shit?

Because in my first draft, he got a happy ending with his faerie spouse but now his story ends with him as a hitman for the faerie mafia on a mission with his faerie spouse to kill his aunt aka the previous faerie mafia boss.

I feel like Baabe/Darlin'/Freelancer/Bestie would never want children (no matter how they'd end up having those children) because all of them had two to six younger siblings and they're fed up with having to care for anything toddler-sized that doesn't have at least Caelum -level intelligence.

Sam is the type of person who always assumes he's bleeding whenever his eyes well up with tears or when he has a runny nose or when his hair touches his ears or neck weird. Car accidents and trauma are funny like that.
