Setting: Heian Period (794-1185) Japanese fantasy, in the underwater palace of the sea god. Queer-accepting setting.

Summary: Inspired by the Japanese folk tale Urashima Taro. When the ship of the nobleman she worked for capsized, Itazaki Katsuko was expected to go down with it. Instead, she's rescued from her watery grave by the eldest daughter of the sea god himself. Tasked with being the princess' personal guard, it isn't long before they find themselves a little too close.

Being mortal, Katsuko's existence is only tolerated in the underwater palace. If anyone were to find out, there was no telling if the sea god would even give her the mercy of a quick death.

Genre: Mystery, Suspense, Fantasy

Warnings: Blood, descriptions of mild gore, mild violence

Setting: Modern-day gated community filled with magic.

Summary: A quiet, sleepy gated community is plagued by a sudden series of “Robin Hood” murders. While nervous, normal citizens felt relatively safe--until a seemingly innocent woman turns up dead. Now, the entire community is in a panic. Because Francesca Soren wasn’t just an innocent woman--she was also human. 

And when Francesca’s family starts demanding answers, the residents of Asteria Heights, all various supernatural creatures who’ve spent their entire lives hiding in plain sight--are in danger of not only death, but of being discovered.

Perhaps the last person to ever be encouraged to get involved is Megumi Wilson, college student and witch. But something is odd about her neighbor Fran's murder, and when the police refuse to listen, Meg decides to take matters into her own hands, for Fran's sake.

Hi there! I’ve been on this car crash of a site since 2012, and somehow I still never dipped more than a toe into the writer side of things, but I wanna change that this year.

So, hi, I’m Susanne (she/her), 30. I work in a library and enjoy being outside, single player video games, and also putting my silly little thoughts on paper, so to speak. I’ve been writing in some form or other since I was a kid, although I’ve never shared much of my original writing online. A lot of fanfic stuff, though. You can still find it if you know where to look. I want to share my original stories as well at some point in the future. No publishing aspirations as this is all for fun.

I’m mainly an enjoyer of fantasy and romance, with a dash of queerness on top. But I’m interested in pretty much anything. I’m one hell of a sucker for friends to lovers as well as a good heaping of building yourself a home where you least expect it. Me and YA have a … complicated relationship.

Happy Blorbo Blursday! Which one of your characters would benefit from modern medication the most? If your characters are modern, what medication would help them that they're not on?

Happy Blorbo Blursday! For Katsuko Gaiden, Katsuko would probably benefit from modern medication the most, being the only human in the cast lol. Also, she takes quite the beating, so it'd definitely help to have some painkillers around. For the other more modern WIPs, the most popularly helpful medication would probably be for anxiety and/or depression, seeing as I love to self-project onto my characters.

Hi! I'm Alyssa (she/her). I'm a scientist, artist, and writer. I've decided to throw my writing into the void and see what happens!

I'm educated as a scientist, but I spend my free time drawing, painting, writing, and playing music. I've been writing my whole life, but I first shared my work on Wattpad. I started writing consistently again a few months ago. I primarily write science fiction/fantasy with a touch of romance.

This novel follows Charlotte, a biracial medical student and noblewoman who seeks to bring honor back to her disgraced family. This second world fantasy takes place in a world scarred by an ancient, unexplored meteorite, in an Empire where the traditional theocracy and sexually liberated culture are constantly at odds. Follow Charlotte as she faces unexplained magicks while haunted by past, romantic affairs.
