rip BBC Sherlock’s Moriarty, you would’ve loved Chappell Roan.
I have an idea for a future episode. It's called "Minor Burns". It begins with Maddie at the call center taking a call. Josh comes over to help her and when the call ends, instead of following Maddie, the camera follows Josh and we get a glimpse of his life. We see him take a call which the 118 responds to. When the 118 arrive at the scene Ravi is the last to get out of the truck and we follow him during the emergency and see it through his perspective. Next, we see Karen on a field trip with Denny at the Air Operations base. After the tour, Karen and Denny talk to Tommy. One of the students collapses and Karen and Tommy work to resuscitate them until the paramedics (Hen and Chimney) arrive. The kid is okay and taken to the hospital. Then we get to see an emergency where Tommy is required to fly his helicopter. At the end of the episode, we see Josh, Ravi, Karen, and Tommy return home after their day. We see them with their respective partners and yes, Josh has a boyfriend.
Buck and Eddie plan to propose to each other on the same day (anniversary or coincidence). In preparation, they make the rounds to ask permission for the other’s hand, because even though it’s a bit outdated they feel it’s important for them as a couple to do.
Eddie goes to Maddie first. She’s over the moon, telling Eddie it’s about time and that he’s had her blessing since the day Buck came home raving about the insufferable new guy at work. She feels a little guilty allowing this because she’s been helping Buck plan his own proposal, but if anything, the fact that the two are planning to propose at the same time shows just how much they belong together.
Bobby is the other person Eddie asks. Despite not being related, everyone knows how significant Bobby is in Buck’s life, with their father-son bond being seen but unmentioned. Bobby initially doesn’t understand why Eddie is asking him so Eddie has to explain how important Bobby’s blessing would be to both of them. He happily agrees, fighting off tears of pride over the thought of his kid settling down with the man he handpicked for him.
Buck obviously asks Christopher first. It’s so important that Christopher is onboard with the whole thing, having had many similar conversations over the course of Buck and Eddie’s relationship to avoid anymore broken salad bowls. Christopher is ecstatic at the thought of Buck legally becoming his family, eagerly giving his blessing with an air of ‘you’re an idiot to think I would say no’ that only a teenager can pull off. Their conversation ends with an ominous remark from Chris that Buck better hurry up and do it soon, stemming from the exact same conversation being had days prior with Eddie.
Abuela is next on Buck’s list. Being the matriarch of the Diaz family, her approval would be significant for Buck’s family-oriented ‘nester’ of a boyfriend, who had struggled to shake the last few teachings from his upbringing. Besides, even though she moved back to Texas, Isabel is Eddie’s favourite Diaz outside of Christopher. She respects Buck for asking her and gives her full blessings on the condition that he send her a picture of the ring and a video of the proposal.
Finally, Buck goes to Shannon. Despite their tumultuous relationship, there is no doubt that Eddie loved her fiercely, comparing every subsequent partner to her until he got together with Buck. Because of this, Buck feels it’s important he let her know about his plans. He visits her grave, sharing updates on how Eddie and Chris are doing, assuring her he doesn’t want to replace her but explaining how he feels both he and Eddie are finally ready to take that final step in their relationship. He thinks the best way to honour her memory and her own relationship with Eddie is to ask for her blessing. While he knows he won’t get an answer, Buck swears he hears a whisper on the wind saying ‘yes’.
Would love to see an episode where a majority of the 118 get injured and have to take a significant amount of time off. In the beginning they're all too sore to really be bothered but after a while they're ready to go back to work but haven't been medically cleared just yet. So they start getting restless, much like Hen when Bobby forced her to take time off. But this time there's multiple of them in the same boat so they meet up and obviously shenanigans ensue. Maybe day drinking, maybe monopoly, maybe gossiping, idk, but I'd love to see a juxtaposition between the absolute chaos of the injured group versus a fairly peaceful shift in the firehouse. The episode would obviously finish with those on shift meeting the injured group and being astounded at the amount of chaos caused in one day.
Mystery Inc. but it’s the 1890s

Who had late Victorian Scooby Doo on their 2024 bingo card? Hmm?
The idea came to me when I was thinking about Sherlock Holmes and then remembered the iconic mystery solving gang hehe
Soooo are we ever gonna get a "You died, Bobby" conversation a la the repeated "You died, Buck" conversations??? Feels like a heart attack is a significant thing to brush over with a "yeah I've just been resting for two weeks but now I'm back baby".
Tell me why I've yet to see a video/edit of the tevan/bucktommy reveal in 7x06 to that one audio from TASM. You know, the one that goes:
"What happened to your face? It's filthy!"
"Oh, yeah, I was cleaning the chimney"
"We have no chimney!"
"Whaaaaaaaat!"
Like come on! It's literally MADE for this scene. Someone please make it for me. Please.
Idk why there’s something so tender to me about Karen and Buck friendship… but… hmmm
Every time I get a snippet I’m like AA
They’re both just so sweet and I just want a subplot of them like on a little mission together or something. Like when Hen and Karen chased down a thief. I just feel like that’s the kinda stuff that would be amusing to see from them.
I just imagine Buck ramblings being met by a very enthusiastic ‘oh, really?’ From Karen, who looks genuinely interested (woman in stem, loves information) and Hen who has to be very ‘babe, please, don’t encourage him’
I want to see them. Even if it’s just a small moment at a firefam event (party/dinner/general gathering/hospital scene even??) or like she’s been nearby during a call and she’s like on the sidelines and he’s like babbling on to her about something going on and Eddie or Bobby have to very sternly (and lovingly) remind him to stop bothering Karen and do his job
Or, better, Karen and him enthusiastically swapping information and Hen and Tommy stood there with dread on their faces and love in their hearts, because there are *two of them*
Would love if season 8 had the 118 repping the LAFD at Pride, BUT specifically while they’re under Gerrard. Hear me out, ok. You’ve got homophobic, misogynistic, racist dinosaur being FORCED to attend Pride for his JOB and having to seem like he’s enjoying it so he doesn’t get fired. He has to watch the openly lesbian firefighter under his command show the openly bisexual firefighter under his command all the wonders of the event, perhaps with the help of the openly gay firefighter that used to be under his command who is shacking up with aforementioned openly bisexual firefighter. He has to watch them be HAPPY and COMFORTABLE and FREE and he can do NOTHING because he’s representing the LAFD, he’s getting paid to walk through a crowd, this should be one of the easiest days of his career. And yet he hates it. He’s dying to say something homophobic and wipe the smiles off everyone’s faces but he CAN’T, and the firefighters who have had to put up with ridicule under his command know he CAN’T and shove it in his face as much as possible. Maybe he even breaks and causes a scene which goes viral and puts pressure on the brass to fire him, or maybe he just suffers in silence. Either way, the 118 will finally get their comeuppance in the form of happiness and rainbows and acceptance and love.
Bobby being so unfussed about their lost belongs compared to Athena being so stressed because he's already been through it before by himself and got out on the other side so he can do it again, except this time he's got his family with him so he knows he'll be ok... I mean I don't know about you but I'd call that growth.
There's something bittersweet and beautiful about Bobby accepting his medal after the fire... He couldn't take it when it was perfect and new, when it was a representation of everything he thought he wasn't, but now that it's been pulled from the ashes, burned but still shining just like him... yeah. It's his medal now.
Putting it out there now that tomorrows ep isn’t allowed to be sad because I have been battling a blocked nose for the past six days and crying will reverse any progress I’ve made so yeah. For my physical well-being (as well as my emotional wellbeing) Bobby can’t die, Christopher can’t leave with his grandparents, hen and Karen can’t lose Mara, Eddie can’t be having a breakdown and any other curveballs are not allowed to be thrown.
the nice part of my brain: renaissance painting ☺️

the cruel part of my brain: the last supper, leonardo da vinci 😕

Whatever you do, don't think about Eddie ending the season 'isolated' due to the fact that in the case of Bobby's death he's going to have no one to comfort him.
Dont think about how he's basically put the nail in the coffin in his and Marisol's relationship.
Dont think about how he has just retraumatised his son, who's now probably going to be very angry and ignore him for a while.
Dont think about how he's finally let Shannon go so he doesn't have the ghost of her to fall back on.
Sure, he'll have the rest of the 118, but they've all got their own people to turn to.
And REALLY dont think about him turning to Buck for comfort in the hospital, but sees Buck is already being comforted by Tommy, because he doesn't need Eddie as much now he has Tommy.
Just don't think about it.
I love that Tommy basically has his own theme song that’s used whenever he’s mentioned. Its all twinkly and just encompasses all the happy, fuzzy feelings Buck has about him. It’s most notable after he kisses Buck first time round but it keeps popping up, most recently when Bobby asks if Buck is going to see him. It’s just another thing that convinced me Tommy is special.
Let’s focus on the positives:
- tiny sliver of bucktommy content
- gerrard getting metaphorically kicked in the balls
- Marisol most likely finally leaving
- uhhh
Yeah no that’s all I got.
Who? Me? How am I doing? Ahahahahahaha! Terribly.

And now the disney+ description is 'Athena's son finds himself in trouble with the law'? C'mon man!
It's forever going to bother me that 7x04 is seemingly going to be known by the media as 'The Bachelor Crossover'. Like no. It took up about 5 mins of the episode. More important things happened in that episode. MUCH more important things.
I haven’t seen anyone talk about the fact Tommy walks AROUND the table when he’s leaving after flipping Buck’s world on its head. The door is very easily accessible and it makes much more sense to go right instead of left if that’s where he’s going to end up. I get it was probably blocking reasons (a massive camera and multiple crew members were blocking the way) but I like to think that even though he had to rush off he wanted to drag out their time together just a little bit more, and the only way to do that was to take the scenic route round Buck’s kitchen (that or he needed something between them to stop himself going back for seconds).

behold my carefully curated Tommy Kinard Eyebrow Raise screenshot collection
bobby dealing with his daddy issues by collecting firefighters with daddy issues and aggressively fathering them
Just thinking about the financial hits the 118 have taken this year:
- failed cruise
- lost luggage because of said cruise (includes fancy dresses, jewellery, bobby’s one suit and athena’s toothbrush)
- helicopter fuel(?)
- eddie’s medical bill
- buck’s apartment bills maybe?
- tommy’s incorrect coffee (coffee’s expensive these days)
- henren expanding their family (we love this for them but again children are expensive these days)
- the bachelor party
- the bachelor party aftermath
- the wedding (catering, venue, photography etc)
- chimney’s carjacking
- chimney’s phone
- chimney’s medical bills
- eddie dating two women simultaneously (surely makes a dent in the monthly budget)
- bobby’s carjacking
- bobby’s medical bills
- potentially athena and bobby’s entire house?!
- therapy bills (frank can afford to retire because of the firefam)
And I’m sure they aren’t done! I hope they’ve all got really good insurance because this is so much worse than usual.
Rewatching 7x03 and I just noticed that in the underwater shot of the capsized cruise ship they animated a little shark swimming by! I missed that the first time round but whoever came up with the idea deserves an award.
