So I was thinking about it this morning and then I saw your 'current star trek headcanons' post and I was just thinking - do you have any headcanons for what waking up with each of the enterprise crew would be like? (lots of complaining about the unfairness of artificial light, let's be real haha)

Specifically wrote this when I was half-asleep. I apologize for any typos.

Kirk: It’s very routine. He always makes the same groaning noise, and always rolls over to bury his face in the crook of your neck. You stay like this for a little while before he sits up and you get to admire the way he looks in the dim lighting. Shirtless. Disheveled hair. Hooded eyelids. It’s perfect. 

Bones: He grumbles as his alarm goes off. For the most part it’s just gruff gibberish, though you’re sure it’s something about how “everything is artificial on this god forsaken ship, doesn’t matter how hard they try, they can’t fool me”. You’ve learned to purposefully set the alarm a bit earlier than he needs, so you have some extra time to press gentle kisses on his cheek and stroke his hair rhythmically to help get him in a better mood to start the day with.  

Spock: You aren’t even sure if he sleeps, because no matter how early you get up, he’s already wide awake, dressed, and ready to go. 

Uhura: She’s a morning person. Like, not the awful type where she’s humming as little Disney birds perch on her shoulder, but waking up usually isn’t an issue for her. While most people would shut off their alarm immediately, she always waits for you to open your eyes so that the first thing she always does is tell you good morning and kiss you on the forehead. Then she shuts off the alarm. 

Sulu: The very first thing he does is sit up and rub his eyes, but as he turns to tell you he’s going to hop in the shower, he changes his mind and lays back down next to you. Five more minutes won’t kill him. 

Chekov: Hits the snooze button as many times as he possibly can, making him nearly late to the bridge almost every day. The lights don’t bother him all that much, but rather, how chilly it is. Along with artificial lighting, the Enterprise has an artificial environmental system that attempts to mimic how things feel during certain times of day, meaning early mornings are cold. He burrows under the blanket and pulls you close to him for body heat. 

Scotty: Typically, Scotty has weird hours that often leave him staying up until 4am. Needless to say, he doesn’t get enough sleep, so waking up isn’t easy for him. A lot of the time you will have to physically drag him out of bed, or rip the sheets away to get him moving. Once he’s on his feet he becomes lucid pretty quickly, but he can’t stop fucking yawning which, in turn, makes you yawn like crazy, and then you’re just two tired idiots trying to say good morning but yawning every time you attempt to speak.
