International Women's Day 2024: International Women's Day on 8 March

For more than 100 years, women around the world have been taking to the streets on International Women's Day for more women's rights and equality.

And I admire that, but the way the world looks now, they will have to take to the streets for another 200 years to fight for equality.

The current backward-looking attitude of some social groups towards the alleged good old days must be disenchanted by all of us by any means necessary.

There was no good old days at all

A real man is a feminist who doesn't understand the issue of equality is ignorant of the challenges that we can only solve together.

It may well be that God, if he/she/it exists, has simply created a totally crazy playground where only completely insane things happen to see what happens in his/her/its series of experiments called " the fully blatant multi-universe of things that have gone completely out of control and should never have happened".

This also good: there is a terrible pandemic and the leader of a country that is scientifically enlightened suggests that people can drink bleach against the pandemic and says to his chief scientist that this idea should be tested. Education is the friend of propaganda. Anyone who can think for themselves and can form an overall picture based on different facts from different sources is unfortunately useless for populist propaganda.

Just ask the British what happened to the oh-so-much money they supposedly had to pay to the EU after they went through with brexit.

Oh, the money didn't exist and the bus with the cool print was just propaganda from the brexit supporters.

However, there was a problem with this fact: it was patently untrue. Technically, the UK paid a gross £19.1bn into the EU budget in 2014, which equates to just over £350m a week. To put it bluntly, what happened on 7 October cannot be legitimised by the Palestinian people's struggle for freedom, which had its final outcome in this event, as some would have the world believe.

But the strike against hamas, which was initially justified on the basis of reasons of state, has become a punishment of the entire Palestinian people and can no longer be legitimised.

Israel's legitimate self-defence has turned into a campaign of annihilation.

Driving people from one side to the other in order to get a free field of fire and then in a kind of continuous loop where ultimately there are only temporary protected spaces for civilians contradicts every rule of civil defence. And can be regarded without reservation as an act against humanity.

However, the comparison with the genocide caused by the systematic extermination of the Jewish people by the Nazis is not accurate. That would simply be wrong, even if the injustice being done to the Palestinian people is inhumane.

Yes, it is a crime, but it is not genocide. The systematic extermination of people is not the case here, no matter how much you want to make the comparison, it does not reflect the past.

On behalf of all those murdered, I stand here only as the face of a person whose life was far too short.

Life is a human right that was denied to me.

In memory of the innocent victims

What happened on 7 October stands alone and is a crime against humanity.

Stop relativising it and comparing it with the consequences it has triggered.
