We’ve all seen signs of warning while driving, but the same can be said about seeing danger signs as we travel along the highway of life. We can try to ignore them, but at some point before this trip called 'life' ends you will have to make a choice if these signs are real or not. So the question for you is this - “Will you heed these warning signs or ignore them?” There is indescribable danger ahead in eternity and if you do ignore them you will arrive at a destination where there is NO ESCAPE OR EXIT. Once there, there is no backing up, no turning around, and truly - no exit. It is a one way street to a literal DEAD END of eternal condemnation that is without remedy.

The good news is that God has given us many signs that will direct us to the destination that He wants to bring us to, but to get there we have to read and follow the signs He has given us, and all the directions we need to navigate the highway of life are found in one 'road atlas,' and this is the Bible.

Jesus tells the story of a rich man trapped in hell where he regretfully realizes that there is NO EXIT. He is fully conscious of his past life and the wrong turns that got him there despite the signs he chose to ignore, and he begs that someone would go back to warn his brothers of this horrible dead end he has found himself. Sadly Jesus replies to him that all people are given signs that point away from hell and lead to eternal life - and ALL of those signs are in the Bible - the same Bible he chose to ignore.

The word repent means to change one’s mind so the question today as you travel down the road of life is this – will you pay attention to these warning signs to not go down the WRONG ROAD and change your mind to go in a safe direction? Turn away from the road that leads to a DEAD END and travel the straight road that leads to eternal life! (Matthew 7:14)

The choice is yours. Follow the road that leads to Christ! Heed the signs He has given and do not go down the path that most people follow that leads to destruction! (Matthew 7:13)

Although current events increasingly indicate a world falling into a downward spiral and becoming scarier all the time, we who read God’s Word have a different perspective.

Believers and disciples in Christ are astutely ‘awake’ in recognizing prophecies from the Old Testament that in this time and age are currently coming to pass. The headlines about epidemics, famines, political turmoil, financial uncertainty, wars and famines and more have all been prophesied to happen in these end times, but wait! The good news is that God is in charge and in control of everything! He always has been - because God is Sovereign, always consistent and never changing. Hebrews 13:8 says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.”

A fair question is “why has all this turmoil increased in the last 50-60 years?” and one of the best answers was when Newt Gingrich said “A country that has been now since 1963 relentlessly in the courts driving God out of public life shouldn’t be surprised at all the problems we have.” This is not only true in the US, but other countries as well. As God and His Word has been ignored and often denigrated, so has the world gone, and the result has been chaos. Yet still - God has a given us His plan in the scriptures.

Thousands of years ago the Bible gave us good news where it proclaimed and prophesied the following:

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a child is given the government will be on His shoulders…” Isaiah 9:6

That prophecy was fulfilled in the birth of Christ and the chaos will cease in the future when Christ comes back to earth and restores order out of chaos.

Jesus is The Word, and the Word of God is sharper than any two-edged sword! When you regard it as the final authority in your life, it will give you stability, safety and confidence when everything else around you gives way. Spend more time with it than the news and ask the Lord to give you His peace to settle the disturbing issues and deep concerns of this life no matter what you see around you, no matter what you may hear.

Make the Word your Shield of protection and the peace of God will fill you inside. You’ll be an overcomer and a strong example of faith to others who walk in fear.

There is no doubt that the ways of this world are extremely volatile and will get progressively worse, but determine in your heart and mind to live by faith, not by sight. Don’t let chaos enter your life, fearlessly commit yourself to the authority of God’s Word and there won’t be anything in this unstable world that can steal security from you!

Modern science (which we are supposed to always trust and “Follow”) says that there was this “Big Bang,” and over billions of years a hot rock evolved into an orbit around the sun, cooled, formed primordial chemicals in a swamp and somehow, someway (that no one can explain...) 'life' began, and eventually all animals, plants and humans just 'evolved.' The Gospel of Darwin thus teaches that Darwin+Rock=YOU, and not that silly religious superstition you are a creation of God in “His Image” [ Genesis 1:26 ] If you follow and believe that line of thinking, then you believe your life is based upon a ROCK.

However there is another ROCK on which we are built ON and FROM, and that is Christ. As today’s scripture tells us, those lives that are built UPON (not 'evolved from') an inanimate rock will stand long after this third rock from the sun is long gone.

While the earth may be around a lot longer that you will, if your life is based upon the rock, which is Christ, when the storms of this life and the last storm of death beat upon you, then your foundation will eternally stand.

Friend, base your life on the TRUE ROCK which is Christ, because He is the only foundation that will last forever.

Is your life FROM a rock or built ON a Rock?

Imagine that you could walk into the White House and Oval Office at any time unannounced to have an audience with the President, or to the Queen at Buckingham Palace or speak at the podium to the UN!?! Wouldn’t that be ridiculous? In this world yes, but in the court of heaven - NO! ... and today’s scripture verse tells us why.

Our Heavenly Father has an 'Open Door' policy! Just like your children can come up to your lap anytime and say “Daddy!”, we also can come to the feet of the LORD at the throne and talk to Him any time we want. You don’t have to make an appointment, be at a certain 'level of spirituality or holiness', rank, level, or title before God because He is always welcome to you at any day, time, or moment. All you have to do is approach!

Too many believers think that they have to act like Dorothy in the Wizard of OZ pounding at the gates to the kingdom in order to have an audience with the Most High, but if you think about it, that is ridiculous for this reason.

The Bible says that the heavenly City of Jerusalem is fifteen hundred miles square and God’s temple is smack-dab in the middle of it, so pounding at the gates (which are already open!) doesn’t make any spiritual sense because those gates are MILES away from the throne. You might as well yell into a barrel!

If you want your prayers to be heard, then go boldly go to God’s Throne, Christian! Then let your prayers and petitions known, asking both in FAITH and according to HIS WILL and He will hear you!

His eye may be on the sparrow, but he watches – and wants to listen – to YOU up close and personal. Boldly go before the throne! He is waiting for you THERE.

The Bible says that before Christ returns to the earth that there will be a seven-year period called “The Great Tribulation.” Jesus said this would be a time of trouble greater than any time in history, and as today’s scripture says, this wrath will ONLY come upon those that are DISOBEDIENT:

“The WRATH of God is revealed from heaven against all Ungodliness and Unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness.” Romans 1:18 “For the great day of his WRATH is come; and Who shall be able to stand?” Revelation 6:17

You see, the Bible NEVER promises that his WRATH will come upon those that are His, saying:

“For God hath NOT appointed us to wrath, But to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thessalonians 5:9

When you turn your heart and your life towards God and are obedient to HIM you will not have to suffer God’s wrath because for those that are:

“Justified by His blood...shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.” Romans 5:9

Friend, God’s MERCY, not wrath is upon those that are His! He is a deliverer to all those that turn to Him with a sincere heart. If you have not done so, turn your heart towards him today.

The time of WRATH is coming SOON...and you do NOT have to be a part of it.

How do you feel about yourself?

Have you ever felt unloved, rejected, insignificant, unappreciated or perhaps even like you were invisible? If so, you may have over time developed a distorted view of how God created you, but that is NOT how God views you!

Regardless of all the hurts and perceptions you have had about yourself or what others may have said or done to you, right now is the time to change your self-perception by looking at yourself and how God views you through a different lens. Once you do you’ll then see how God views you and realize this one important truth that You were NEVER created to be Rejected, but CHOSEN because the Bible says:

“Even before he made the world, God loved us and CHOSE US (that includes YOU!) in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.” Ephesians 1:4 (and also that you are & were) “Fearfully and Wonderfully Made.” Psalm 139:14

This means that even before God poured out the oceans, lit up the stars and formed the mountains He saw You. He chose you to be His own, because He wants you to belong to Him. This means you’re desired, and to be desired means you’re Greatly Valued!.

You see, your heavenly Father loves and cherishes you just as you are. You are always in His thoughts 24/7, and He holds you close in His heart. He treasures you and longs for you to come to Him.

My friend, if you are struggling to love yourself, remember to look through the 'real lens' and toss out the Old Lens that distorts who you truly are, because you ARE a Chosen, Created & Cherished Child of God.
