Next Week, Theres Going To Be An Anti-trans And Anti-queer Protest In Tkaronto/toronto, At Queens Park.
next week, there’s going to be an anti-trans and anti-queer protest in tkaronto/toronto, at queen’s park.
if you have any queer and trans friends in the area, please let them know you are an ally and be there for them when they need you.
there has been a large influx of anti-trans politics in tkaronto/toronto in the past couple of years, and queer people in this city need safety and support

I wish I could take all the hurt of those who were and are medically neglected and mold it into a tiny ball to be put inside a bottle and shipped off to sea. There's so much of it. So much grief and anger and pain. So many nights spent in agony while family and doctors and paramedics fail you over and over and over again. Having to watch everyone around you observe your suffering and seem entirely unphased. Confined to wheelchairs that aren't made for your body because they're the only ones available to people without a prescription. Your rage is warranted but I wish I could calm it for all of us. Just for one peaceful night of sleep.
If you're on your school campus, be mindful of who is around you. This is not only a post about your own personal safety, but also others.
Today, I got bumped and shoved by quite a few people on their way to classes and, as someone with chronic pain and mobility issues, this is a problem because it heightens my pain and makes me unstable.
Be aware of others and don't fucking shove
i can get to my desk IF someone moves a chair out of the way is not accessibility
i can get in the building IF i’m having a really good day and can open the door myself is not accessibility
i can get in the building IF i go through loopholes to be allowed to use the accessible entrance is not accessibility
i can get to one desk BUT i don’t have a choice in where i sit and everyone else does is not accessibility
there is an accessible entrance BUT it is farther away and more inconveniently placed than any inaccessible entrance is not accessibility
accessibility should not have conditions. all of these are still good, compared to absolutely no access. but disabled people should not have to settle for “just barely good enough”
RAAAH I LOVE SEEING OTHER DISABLED PEOPLE OUT N ABOUT !!!!
first day of class :)
i wasn’t able to get my seating accommodations in time because the accessibility department insists on moving at a snail’s pace
and the prof played music so very loudly i needed my noise cancelling headphones
but otherwise………. not so bad!
