Codywan Week Day 7: Dancing
Summary: A few Jedi and Clones are invited to a senator ball to thank them for their war efforts.
The Senate ball was an annual for the Senate. However this year was different. The senators had decided to invite their most successful generals to show their appreciation. The Jedi could bring their commanders if they wished to.
Of course Anakin brought Ashoka along and Obi-wan brought Cody. Though Cody has never been to a fancy ball he knew Obi-wan would know what to do and he would get to spend time with his lover.
Obi-wan had grabbed one of his nicer sets of robes and Padma found Cody something nice to wear. The two showed up to the ball right on time and mingled with the senators for a little while.
Anakin and Padma stayed near each other the whole time while Ashoka and Rex rommed the dance floor. Neither could dance so they made it up as they went. Even if most of the music was classical music, they danced as if it was a high school party.
Obi-wan watched them, glad they where having great time and relieved the senators didn't mind. He watched Anakin and Padma get to close to each other and he watched as Cody tried to get used to the fancy chandelier and elegant dresses.
So badly Cody wanted to grab Obi-wan and take him to the dance floor or to take him for a walk in the garden they had passed as the walked up the stairs to the entrance. He reframed because 'what would the people think?'
As the night went on Obi-wan whished for the same thing. The ballroom was starting to get stuffy and overwhelming. He couldn't imagine how Cody felt sense this was his first big fancy event.
Obi-wan looked over at his commander and desired to leave this ball full of people who they couldn't be themselves around. He walked over to Cody and spoke to him. "Can we take a walk?" He said.
Cody felt his checks flush just a little. All night he had been waiting to Obi-wan to say something like that. "Of course." He took his generals and guided him to the back door that should lead to a large garden based off of the layout they had been given before.
The door opened silently and the two escaped out in the garden. The laughed a little as they walked around. Obi-wan grabbed Cody's hand once he deemed it to be safe.
They walked around the colorful flowers, lit up by moon light. Obi-wan filled Cody's head with the useless knowledge of what each of them were. The looked at the constellations, Cody knowing more of them then Obi-wan had expected.
The two lovers walked back towards the building. They stopped at the entrance of the garden, unsure if they really wanted to go back in. Inside the music slowed.
Obi-wan felt Cody grab his hands. The commander pulled them to his shoulder and waist Then he placed his own hands on the other and pulled him closer. "Can I have this dance?" He whispered.
A chill went up Obi-wan's spine. Everything felt so perfect. For a moment everything was okay. The vine arch above them created spotlights and the general breeze brought the sweet smell of the flowers to them. He smiled, "of course you can."
Slowly the two stepped together and swayed to the music. Obi-wan leaned into his chest and let his worry of slip away.
Near the end of the song Cody twirled Obi-Wan and he dipped him. Their faces were so close and without any hesitation they kissed.
They giggled and moved. Cody walked over to the entrance and picked a rose. He handed it to Obi-wan, "we should head back inside."
"We should." Obi-wan grabbed Cody's hand, "I had a good night." He leaned into him as they walked, only separating at the door.
"Me too."

AI-less Whumptober Day 4: Hiding an injury
Fandom: Miraculous Ladybug
Summary: Adrien goes to school after being injured in an Akuma attack.
Being a hero was dangerous. Ladybug and Cat Noir knew that well. But no matter what Ladybug's lucky charm would reverse the damage done.
Unless she lost it. Adrian stood in the boys bathroom, his side bleeding. He was unsure of what to do. He should have just gone home but the school day had only just begun when the akuma attack happened. It was around noon now.
The boy grabbed a bunch of toilet paper and stuffed it on his side. He grabbed bandages he kept on his backpack just in case and wrapped them around the wound. He grabbed his jacket and was thankful he had grabbed the black on that morning.
Adrian stumbled back towards his class. The hall was busy at class change. He stayed close to the wall and tried to walk straight.
What would happen if the knew? What could he do if the found out? Nothing. Cat Noir knew that if anyone found out that he was Cat Noir, he would lose himself.
It hurt. The gash was still bleeding. It was sore to the touch. Sore was an understatement.
It didn't take long for people to stair. He leaned into the wall and felt like sitting down and sobbing. Adrian wanted to scream. But, if he did, if he told them he was in pain, he wouldn't be able to be free.
Gabriel would lock him in the house forever. He couldn't be isolated like that again. That would hurt more then the wound in his side.
As soon as he entered the room he did his best to get to his seat quickly and at least mostly normally. All he needed was for someone to figure out his secret identity.
"Hey Adrian!" Nino said enthusiastically.
"Hey." The hero did his best to match his energy but couldn't.
"Everything okay?"
"Yeah, I'm just tired." He rested one of his arms on the desk and laid his head down. After that he grabbed his side with the other hand and kept pressing on it. He just needed to make it until the end of the school day. Once he was home he could figure out how to fix it.
"Hey Adrian, why are you holding your side?" Rose asked.
"Oh, I'm just cold." He wasn't exactly lieing to her. He was cold.
"Dude, it's like really warm in here." Kim, who was walking to his set, called Adrian's bluff.
"I'm just cold okay." He put his head back down.
"Is your hand red?" Alya inspected.
"No, it's fine" Adrian said, his head still on the table. Why wouldn't they just leave him alone? Why did they have to make it so hard to hide that he was hurt?
"If you say so." Alya knew she would be watching him carefully.
Halfway through class Adrian started to feel worse. He felt nauseated and weak. He raised his hand and asked to use the restroom. Ms. Bustier said that he could and Adrian stood up to leave the room.
He could feel his legs growing weaker as he walked to the door.
"Are you alright?" Ms. Bustier asked.
"I'm, fine. Thank you." He grabbed the door handle and pulled it open. The world felt like it was fading. He couldn't show it any more than he had already. He wouldn't lose everything just because he couldn't hide an injury.
As soon as the door closed the class looked at each other to see if everyone else was sceptical.
In the hall Adrien stumbled to the floor. He laid there for a moment before getting up and using the wall to get around. He pushed all his body weight on the wall and prayed it would be enough to get him back to the gym lockers.
Once there he sat against the wall and took his jacket off. The kid sighed as he realized he bleed though the bandages. Placing the jacket on his side, he wondered how much of class he could skip.
"So, should someone check on him." Nathaniel asked.
"I'll go" Nino volunteered almost immediately.
"Marinette, why don't you go since your class representative?" Alya asked.
"I'm his best bud, I've got it."
"Nino, if you don't mind, please go check on him."
Nino left the room and walked towards the bathroom. Nearing the lockers he saw a red substance on the ground and looked towards the door. There was blood on the handle.
A sense of unease fell over Nino. "What the fuck?" He whispered. He walked to the door and opened it.
Adrian heard the door handle and panicked. Where did he go? How did he hide? He crawled over to a place behind a locker and held in a sob when the door opened. "Adrien?" Nino called out.
Cat Noir placed a hand over his mouth. He could taste the salt from the blood. It surprised him.
"Adrian? Man? I'm concerned. If you're here please just tell me."
No matter how hard Adrien could try, the tears would come anyway.
"Adrian?" Nino turned to face him. "Oh fuck."
"Nino, please don't get anyone."
"Why not?" Nino raised his voice.
"Please. I can't really explain."
"Are you okay? Like are you in danger?" The man walked over and kneeled down to Adrian.
"I'm fine, just in, pain."
"Come here."
Adrian complied. Nino grabbed his side and kept pressure on his side. "Help!" He screamed.
"No please. They can't know." The hero whispered.
"Can't know what?"
"That I'm hurt."
"Why?" Nino called out for help again.
"My identity."
"Identity?"
Nino didn't know? "Fuck" Adrian whispered.
"You're-" Nino was cut off as someone came into the locker room.
The teacher called 122 as she helped Nino get him to the front of the school.
What was he going to do now? Maybe he could just say that the akuma attack had caused it. He wasn't lying, just not telling the whole truth. It didn't really matter now. Everyone knew that he was hurt. The one thing he was avoiding.
Now he'd just have to hope that no one knew that he was Cat Noir. He didn't think anyone had seen the wound he had received. That may just be his savior. As he heard the sirens from the ambulance he blacked out. Maybe he shouldn't have waited so long.
Soultember Prompt 1: Red String of Fate
Fandom : The Dragon Prince
Waring: Canon Character Death
Summary: Harrow didn't need Viren to tell him his wife had been killed by Thunder, he already knew she was gone.
Queen Sairi was the love of King Harrow's life. They were bound together by fate. When they walked, hand in hand, a red string hung down slightly from their pinky fingers. No matter how difficult life was they knew they had each other.
When Viren told Harrow that there was a way to save the people of Duren and Katolis from the death that would come with the horrible winter, he felt it was the only solution. Maybe it was.
Despite Sarai's protest, a few soldiers and the leaders of the two kingdoms left to retrieve the heart of the titan.
Harrow was unsure when the fight began if they would emerge victorious. When the titan fell everything was worth it. The uninjured assessed the injured and they were ready to go.
It was a selfless mission. But sacrifices must be made to save a kingdom. A few people for tens of thousands seemed only far.
Then he appeared. The king of the dragons was angry. Why were humans on his side of the border? What did they need and what did they destroy?
When the queens of Duren fell, it felt like the whole world shook for just a moment. Then Viren tried to by them time. The head mage was a strong man but without him the sacrifice of the queens was for nothing.
Sarai was a strong women. There was no doubt in Harrow's mind that she would return to him. The string that held them together would shorten as they took hands once more. They would return home and would dance in their room, watching the string as they tried to tangle it around themselves, just to see if they could.
Harrow wanted her ride away. He looked at the tine red line that never let them play a fair game or hide and seek and smiled.
As the soldiers approached their side of the border the king felt his finger start to burn.
Snap.
Harrow felt a sharp pain in his pinky finger. The long red string that once connected him to his Queen had broken.
This couldn't be right. Any moment now Sarai would come back up the hill, back to him. She had to. Harrow wasn't sure he could do this without her. He wasn't sure how he'd live on or how he'd explain to his sons what happened to their mother.
The string tied itself into a neat bow, the excess hanging maybe an inch off of his finger. Harrow's heart felt like it stopped beating. Sarai was gone, his love was gone.
Viren walked up the hill, confirming the news. Three mothers had died that day. The mage looked at Harrow's hand, a red string now visible, "I'm so sorry."
Harrow said nothing. Tears fell silently down his face. They fell to the ground as others went to retrieve the three bodies from the field.
He fidgeted with the short tail of the string unconsciously as the three women were brought up the hill. The walk home felt shorter and longer than it had felt before. Harrow wouldn't remember most of it.
It was fate for the two to fall in love. Who knew fate could be so cruel.

Soultember Prompt 4: Fun Holidays, Handwriting day Jan 23ed
Fandom: The Dragon Prince
Summary: When your soulmate writes on themself it appears on your skin too. Soren likes writing his soulmate and Corvus sort of likes answering.
'Heyyyyyy' Soren wrote on his arm, 'how are you?'
Corvus looked down at his arm, feeling a slight tingle in it. It was his soulmate. He always felt his soulmate was a little too silly for him. He was so serious and quiet but they were funny and energetic.
Soren checked his arm throughout the day, waiting for his soulmate to respond. 'Hello????' He wrote impatiently.
A tingle, 'hello.'
'Oh hi! How are you?'
'Fine, how are you?'
'I'm good!' Soren fawned over his soulmate's handwriting. It was so clear and neat.
Corvus sighed at his. He wondered what fate could have in store for two people who clearly seemed to be opposites. When he talked to Gren about it he said 'opposites attract.' It was the most, least helpful piece of advice he could have given him.
Grabbing a cloth Corvus dipped it in water. He gently ran the damp cloth over his arm and dried it off. Sitting on his bed, he put water back on the floor.
As the lines smeared, Soren took a cloth from the table. He couldn't find any water so he tried to just use the fabric to get rid of the ink. Placing the cloth of his skin he roughly pushed the cloth into his skin, trying to keep the smudging at a minimum.
'Take your time.'
Soren Smiled. He drew a little happy face and put the pen down. Leaving his room, he set off to get some water.
Gren walked into Corvus's quarters. "What are you up too?"
"My soulmate wrote. He sure likes to."
"I think he'll be good for you" Gren smiled and walked over to the bed. "Someone has to get you out of your shell."
Corvus ignored the commander's comment.
"What do you know about him?"
"Not much, we can't share our names. He's in the crown guard of Katolis."
"See, you already have something in common! You're both in the Katolis military!"
"I suppose we are."
Soren walked right into Callum as he rubbed the drying ink off his arm. "Hey step-prince!"
"Oh, hey Soren."
Callum looked at Soren's arm, "writing your soulmate?"
"Yep!"
"How's it going?"
"Good! He actually wrote back for once!"
"Have fun with that. Tell them I said hi."
"Will do, step prince."
Soren rushed off to his room where he could continue talking to his mystery person. 'Im back!'
Gren grabbed Corvus's arm, "what did he say?"
"I'm, not sure." He drew a question mark next to the illegible words
The guard chuckled then wrote slower. "I'm back." He spoke to himself.
Corvus smiled. 'I see that.'
The two wrote for a little longer before someone walked into the tracker's quarters, "both of you are needed by General Amaya."
"Okay. Tell her we'll be right there." Gren got up, "let him know that we need to go."
Corvus quickly but neatly wrote that he had to go. He pulled his sleeve down, leaving the ink there. Most of it had dried.
The guard took his chance. He pulled his pen out and started to trace what his soulmate had said. Each stroke was placed with deliverance.
Though the meeting Corvus had a hard time concentrating; the tingling feeling from his soulmate writing in his arm almost worried him. It felt like it was always the same thing in the same place.
As soon as the meeting was over, Corvus, followed by Gren, walked back to his quarters. He threw the door open pulling his sleeve up. There was, nothing new?
The tingling was still there. He had to be okay. Gren handed him the wet rag and he quickly scrubbed the ink off. But nothing changed.
Soren felt a change. He grabbed the rag by his bed and cleaned his arm off.
'Are you okay?' This time it was Soren who drew the question marks.
'Are you okay?'
'Yeah why?'
'You were just writing a lot. What did you write?' Corvus sighed and turned to Gren, "he's okay."
"That's good."
'I was tracing your words. I like your handwriting and want to have better handwriting so you don't have to draw so many question marks '
Corvus smiled. 'Thats sweet.' His stomach filled with butterflies.
'Awww thanks!'
Gren sat down next to Corvus, handing him a rag so he could clean off his arm. He took the cloth and rubbed it on his arm.
'Im going to go train for a little bit. I'll write to you later!" Soren rubbed everything but that off.
'Okay.' Corvus laid down.
"I told you it would be okay."
"You were right."
Soultember Prompt 5: Color one from 2018 list
Fandom: The Dragon Prince
Summary: People are colorblind until you see your soulmate for the first time. Amaya never expected to be looking at her enemy as the world lit up around her.
The breach had never looked so beautiful. It had always been a place of death and fear but right now it was lit up by color. It stunned Amaya for a moment, the color that erupted from the lava.
The moment of admiration quickly faded to dread. Why here? Why now? Why, her? The general looked back to her opponent, a skilled Sunfire elf. She looked just as surprised.
Then the elf drew her sword. It was colorful, the blade being different shades of, green? No yellow. It looked lively in the same way that Sairi had told her.
Amaya drew her sword. She looked at it, curious to see how it changed. Nope still gray. Something seemed wrong about fighting the women you're destined to love.
Even if they were soulmates they were enemies first. They attached each other but both soldiers couldn't help but get distracted. The bright colors that surrounded them, the overwhelming feeling of the world looking so different.
The colors were the only destination. There was something alluring about the elf. Every part of Amaya felt that this was wrong. It felt traitorous to feel that way.
When their fight ended Janai wandered around, taking in the sights of the world.
Amaya wasn't going to tell anyone. But when she arrived at the base and saw Gren she couldn't help but smile. He looked good in color. His hair was definitely not what she had been expecting. It was like a lighter version of the lava.
'What are you so smiley about?' Gren signed.
'Just happy to see you' she replied.
Gren smiled. That was sweet.
Amaya's smile slowly faded. She didn't want to lie. Gren was her closest friend, she should tell him. He was unwavering in his optimism, he'd find the positive.
Then she looked at him. She had to come to terms with it first. She couldn't tell Gren, at least not yet.
For the next few days Amaya wondered about the elven stranger. She was a good fighter, strong, beautiful, and dangerous.
When night fell that day, the general rode up to the breach. She knew it wasn't a good idea but, she had to know. When she got off her horse, she went to where the two had met.
And she wasn't the only one there. The elf sat near the edge of the path. She looked gorgeous. It pained Amaya, finding beauty in Xadia. She hated it, she hated her self for it.
Then the elf stood. Amaya waved. The soldier looked at her, "what are you doing here?" She asked.
'Looking for you' she signed.
"What?"
Grabbing a piece of paper, a feather, and an ink well, Amaya questers to the ground. Unsure the elf walked over and sat down. Then the human did.
Amaya grabbed the feather gently and wrote, 'Im deaf.'
The elf looked at her and reached her hand out for the pen. She took it and dipped it in the ink. 'Okay'.
Amaya took it back. 'So, you're my soulmate?'
'And you're mine?'
They looked at each other.
"This alone is treason." The elf sighed.
'It is' Amaya wrote. 'What's your name?'
The elf grabbed the feather carefully, 'Janai.'
'Im Amaya.'
"Amaya" Janai said. It sounded right, saying her name. She hated it in the best way she could.
Maybe this would be okay. Everything had to be okay. Fate wouldn't be so cruel as to connect them only to have it be impossible to love each other right?
'Do you like color?' Amaya wrote.
The two's hands touched as they exchanged the feather. 'I do, do you?'
'I do. Got a favorite?'
"I'm not sure what it's called but-' then she pointed to a color on her armor.
'Yellow?'
"How do you know?"
'My sister used to tell what the colors looked like. She said it was bright and lively; the color of the sun.'
'Oh, you have a sister?'
Amaya nodded sadly. She grabbed the pen and dipped it into the ink. 'She's dead.'
"Oh, I'm so sorry."
Amaya didn't say anything.
Janai grabbed the pen softly, 'What's your favorite color?'
She pointed at the color of her armor, 'blue.'
"How did she describe blue?"
'The color of the sky and of the ocean but also sadness.'
Janai tried to look at the sky but clouds blocked her way. They stayed over the breach, making the area darker than the rest of the land around it.
'If you want we can take a walk? I can tell you what color some things are. If I'm right anyway.'
Janai looked unsure, "to do that we'd need to leave the breach."
'Then I'll follow you'
"Are you sure?"
Amaya nodded. She stood up and extended her hand out for Janai.
Janai led the way. It was the first time in nine years that Amaya had been in Xadia. It felt different being there just to talk instead of going to kill.
Deep down she knew this wouldn't be the last time she'd be in Xadia to see Janai and the more she thought about it, the more she was okay with it. Fate would have brought them together for a reason and maybe that reason was simply to love each other.
