Romance tongues (like Castilian Spanish (since the Latin American kind only uses ustedes [ye form], French, Italian, Portuguese (other than the Brazilian kind--which just uses the formal voce except in very rare cases of tu), & Romanian) are using this route as well, which I do appreciate (especially since my editor sometimes uses Spanish). With those, why shouldn’t we make similar moves & do something like this for English? Whatever culture it started from, we should consider the merits of both forms & how things can be more succinct these ways.
