Hello Again. Okay So Due To Procrastinating And Some Other Reasons, Here I Am Trying To Complete Sixteen

Hello again. Okay so due to procrastinating and some other reasons, here I am trying to complete sixteen chapters in six hours for my biology test tomorrow which is next to impossible I know I know but I’m taking this as a challenge. I think if I do somehow manage to complete this before the test tomorrow this will give me a lot of idk self confidence or something or just more reason to believe that I’m capable of doing things like these. Without further ado, let’s get started :))) I will keep everyone posted (that is if I survive this)

Studying Tips when you are easily distracted

Studying Tips When You Are Easily Distracted

Pomodoro Technique, I can't stress it enough how helpful it is. There are many apps, and some allow to change the amount of time for breaks and work. Maybe you can't do 25, then do 15. Others need more time to get "in the zone" and can do 40 minutes.

During breaks, walk away from your desk/workspace. Don't go to far, look through a window, take a glass of water, go to the bathroom, or if you can go outside for a few seconds to take deep breaths of fresh air. The important thing is to mentally detach yourself from that task to reset your mind.

Change subjects. Don't spend four hours on the same topic, it gets way too boring. Divide your time between a subject you like and one that is harsher for you and viceversa.

One hour a day does 100% more for your productivity than five hours of cramming the night before.

Your brain won't function properly if sleep deprived. It doesn't matter how much you studied all night, more often than not you will fail from exhaustion. And no, caffeine doesn't do the trick, it will just give you more anxiety. It's like a rollercoaster of crap. Trust me, been there done that, it sucks.

Make a list of all the things you need to do in order of importance and urgency. Instead of a boring check mark, draw flowers or whatever you like and once completed you can color them.

Your head won't remember everything you have to do, take a small notebook with you everywhere and write down (right in that moment or you will forget), tasks, chores, homework, assignments, essays, etc.

You don't have to make your notes as perfect as the one from pinterest or studyblr (in my opinion that takes way too much time to do and is not that productive), but adding color, sticky notes or small drawings can make it much more pleasant to look at.

Eliminate from your desk/workspace all distractions, or as much as you can. Some of the pomodoro apps I mentioned before, they ring when time is up, it's automatic. So, you can put away your cellphone to not be tempted to scroll through social media.

If you have spent quite a few hours studying, take a long break (not in your bed). You should move to stimulate blood circulation. You could listen your favorite music and dance while eating a snack. Or maybe water your plants, do your prayers if you're religious, anything that isn't related to study. Your mind will thank you.

Know when to stop, it's unhealthy if you overdo it. Melatonin, sleep hormone, usually starts production around 9 o'clock (my psychiatrist told me this) and between 10 and 12 is the moment when your body rest the best.

Also, Melatonin can be affected by blue light emitted from screens. If you can try to avoid them for at least two hours before going to sleep. So that you can regain a normal sleep schedule. This will also improve your mood and eventually your concentration.

There are apps (at least for Android, don't know for Apple) that can block the usage of other apps. It's very helpful and until now it has given me great results.

Make sure to take time to practice your hobbies, hangout with friends, spend time with your family or walk your pet. Your entire life can't be about studying and grades. If you don't enjoy the process of going to highschool/college, you will end up hating it. Even if it's just for 15 minutes. Allow yourself to not be productive. You are not a machine. It's okay to relax from time to time. Your mental health is more important. Even at the cost of success.

The Secret to Fighting Colds in College

Always prioritize sleep (even when you aren’t sick)

Sleep boosts your immune system more than emergen-c ever could

The second you start feeling off: guzzle water like there’s no tomorrow

Im serious about this. Your pee should be clear. Keep drinking water.

Have a stock pile of meds to combat cold symptoms. You can’t cure a cold but it’ll make your life easier

I like to have allergy meds, cough meds, and generic stuffy head meds in my apartment at all times

Some meds you can take together BUT ALWAYS READ THE LABELS FIRST. If a drug appears on each label DO NOT take both

Always mark the time you took your meds. 4am you will not be helpful when it comes to avoiding overdoses

When in doubt, don’t take another dosage

Eat actual food. (You should do this anyway but especially when sick). Eat those fruits and veggies

DRINK WATER

E-mail professors ASAP if you think you’ll fall behind on materials and assignments. Most profs will be chill about giving you extensions

SLEEP 8-10 HOURS A DAY MINIMUM

Seriously your body needs sleep when sick

Colds can last anywhere from 3-10 days. Not giving yourself rest will ensure you end up with the 10 day cold

The work you do while sick will not be good so prioritize getting better and then tackle your assignments

Please do not go to class. This is how colds spread through the study body like wildfire. Most schools have better sick policies since Covid so do your classmates a favor and stay home.

one thing i never get tired of in songs is when they include some sounds from the recording booth like a laugh at the end, a ‘was that good?’ or like, the sounds of the guitar being put down, a chair creaking. it’s nice how music can be used as an escape but also something that ties you right back down to earth. it will affect you so deeply & then ur like wow… you just played that. it’s grounding & magical & just one of my fave things ever!

The first productivity challenge didn't work out. It could've if I was dedicated enough but now looking back, I wasn't. A few weeks back, when I started with the challenge, I felt really demotivated. Not even demotivated, it was more like I didn't see the point of any of it. I just wanted to do nothing. I recently returned back home after a tiny vacation which was very very very relaxing and I cleared out my mind. Since I don't have classes, I have a lot more time to cover some of my weak topics. My exams are starting from tomorrow (nothing too serious) but instead of focusing on my school exams, I want to cover up the topics with are actually going to come in the entrance exam because that is my goal.

I learned a lot from the trip that I recently went on. Leisure and relaxation are just as important as hardwork and continuity. Ngl I was very hesitant about taking two days off while returning back home because half the people preparing for the said exam are not even going back home and by doing that they are saving time and getting ahead of me in one way or the other. But everyone is unique and what works for someone may or may not work for me. They can study for fifteen hours without a break? good for them. I can't so I don't. I go with my own pace. I need a vacation or time of relaxation every few months because staying away from home at a place where everything is so competitive and hectic can get really toxic if you don't find a way to relax. So instead of trying to force myself to function without actually taking care of my body and my mind I'll try to work on myself in the next few weeks and try to be more balanced in every aspect of life, not just studying but also in terms of health. With this note, Lets begin the productivity challenge once again (for real this time). I'll be back at the end of the day :)
