What is their favorite fairytale? Least favorite?
Bella: The original sleeping beauty is her least favourite, for obvious reasons. If sleazy kings could not take advantage of helpless women, that'd be great. And let's not encourage cannibalism, even if your husband is not nice to you.
Mulan is probably her favourite. Where a self confident woman dupes an entire army, fights, wins, takes care of her family, and then comes back and can be happy with herself is a compelling and inspiring story for her.
Freddie: Stupidity frustrates him endlessly, so the fairytale about the sausage, the bird and the dog/mouse (or something like that) is probably his lead favourite. They disrupt the order they have and all suffer for it which infuriates him to no end.
His favourite is the stonecutter one. (Where a stonecutter wishes to become grand things and the mountain he's carving on, which is magic, and likes him, grants his wishes, before he ends up a stonecutter again because that's where he's happiest) He likes the idea of dreaming beyond your place in life. Find a boon in life and twist it to your advantage. Use observational skills to find and best something greater than you.
Zach: Snow White is his least favourite. Can we not bully people based on things they can't control? That would be nice. Again, cannibalism is not a great thing to attempt. And putting down women is very old fashioned and something he doesn't like. It's okay to be protective, as long as women are independent and able to rise to wherever they wish.
(I'm terrible with remembering names) There's a fairytale where this woman's husband and the father of her child is taken away because of a curse, so she goes on this incredibly long journey, wearing through a pair of iron shoes and being helped by relatives of the sun and moon. Zach loves the perseverance and kindness shown by the characters, so this is probably his favourite.
Bella: Tora's enthusiasm is quite overwhelming, so she's a little quieter than normal around her since Tora fills silence very effectively. Her lack of control is a little grating for Bella, since she tends to be more focus oriented rather than using force and power. She feels bad for Tora's relationship with her brother, since she knows how great it is to have a healthy relationship with siblings.
Freddie: She is way too rambunctious, outspoken, rough and "unintelligent" for his tastes. Out of the entire group, she's probably the person he'd like to spend the least time with. He's a little resentful over the fact that she has supportive parents (though before meeting Vi and Aster, he didn't really know about that) The only redeeming quality he sees in her is her raw power, something he's secretly envious of in interactions in AUs where they both retain their powers
Zach: Tora and Zach match each other's chaotic energies so well. He, Tora and his cousin Ethan (who serves as the braincell of the group, though it's not very effective) are the chaos trio, who, whenever together create all sorts of shenanigans and mess. He loves her free spirit and knows he can be his true self around her, since she doesn't judge and is very open about her feelings. In basically every crossover AU we have, they're pretty much inseparable and ruin any semblance of peace the group has.
day six: tora
presenting tora! she is fiery and chaotic; her thoughts race around, never settling on one thing. she’s loyal and protective, a friend to the end. tora loves her friends and believes in platonic love with all her heart. growing up, tora was extremely closer to her brother, but he resented her a bit, as her powers are extremely strong. tora doesn’t think before acting at times, so she’s been in a couple of fights. she loves walking around nature and likes to take pictures.

Ah yes, Freddie. Though he's a little annoying in the beginning, he's redeemable. He's a huge geek, though he'd never admit it. A prime example is his love for all things hero comics. He has projects on them and just about every available issue under the sun. They actually feature in a short story I've posted here! But he really is as smart as he thinks he is. He's been pushed ahead 3 grades and is at a school for gifted kids. However, this doesn't make him above everyone as he thinks it does, which is a fatal flaw of his
While he's not technically an antagonist in my main story, he definitely hinders the trio significantly with some extremely selfish actions. Though I haven't finished writing it by a long shot, his stubbornness will annoy his "teammates" a lot, though the banter will be cute.
And the alternate universes!! (is it even a post about my characters if they're not hinted at?) In many many crossover AUs he has parentalish figures, in the form of Aster and Violetta. They really help him grow as a person, and to see perspectives beyond his own. Also! His awesome and fun aunt, Dawn who are very soft for each other, but they'd both rather die than admit it.

Zach: Before her character arc, he struggles to be nice around her. Her attitude reminds him of every kid that bullied him in elementary school - aloof and hateful. The only redeemable thing about her is her family situation. Since she was raised by her uncle, she doesn't know much better, which gives him a little hope for her future if she spends more time around kinder people. Unfortunately, he probably won't be those people, at least in the beginning; eventually, they might bond, but she has to become a more empathetic person first.
Bella: Like Zach, before her character arc, Dawn is on thin ice with Bella. She'll treat Dawn coolly and won't be outright rude, but it'll take a lot for Dawn to redeem herself. However, her social skills are impressive to Bella, who has to work painfully hard to stay afloat in high school politics. Though in saying that, she's often confused by Dawn's chameleon-esque personality when seeing her interact with different people.
Freddie: Dawn is his favorite person in the entire group. She has good taste, understands that some people are just inferior. However, she is a little cold, and he's intimidated by her age and temperament - he'd like to befriend an ally, but she also has social experience he doesn't. But any fear he has in regards to her comes from a place of respect, which is more than can be said of anyone else of either group.
day seven: dawn
last, but certainly not least, is dawn! although she keeps herself apart from the main group, she is connected to them through nyx, her cousin. dawn is the daughter of aunt jetta, but is closer to her uncle, nero, who treated her as his heir- until nyx showed up. then, dawn felt like an afterthought in her own family, as everyone’s attention seemed focused on nyx. the Institute of Briarwood gives her a chance to prove herself, and she’s determined to take it.

What is their password? (Or the pattern they use to choose passwords)
Zach: he has named every single one of his stuffed animals. They are his passwords. If it needs a number and it's a plush from a birthday, he uses that number. (If that makes sense)
Freddie: he uses science facts. He'll abbreviate it or he'll use the first letters. Sometimes he uses obscure scientists that he admires!
Bella: you know the passwords Google suggests? She uses those. But she memorizes them. None of them are saved on any computer - she's too worried about hackers since she's made a few online enemies in her time. No one has ever kept her out of somewhere she wants to be, especially if it's hurting society.

game show au: in this reality tv show, our characters battle it out for the chance to take home the final prize! but money isn’t the only motivation driving some of them forward, which leads to alliances and friendships and romances- but also heartbreaks and betrayals. who will win in the end?
hogwarts au: the aesthetic of a world of magic is a fascinating one, although I would like to personally fight J.K. Rowling, so putting our characters into hogwarts was simple. they all come from different backgrounds and different houses, but the found family is as strong as ever.
the perfect family (tpf) au: violetta and aster adopt freddie, becoming a loving family once and for all. is there fluff? of course! is there angst? well, duh! is there found family? yes! is there a beautifully domestic sapphic relationship? YES! what more could anyone need? this alternative universe feels like the definition of hurt/comfort to me, and I love it.

pirate au: set in the thrilling world of pirates, a princess is torn from the cushy life she’s always known, and she finds herself becoming fond of the beautifully rugged pirate captain. meanwhile, a former pirate captain is betrayed by someone close, and now she’ll stop at nothing to take back her inheritance. there is adventure and mermaids on the horizon, but pirate hunters are hot on everyone’s trail, and one wrong step might be their last.
college au: what it says on the tin! my characters, but in a modern day college setting. when I write scenes out of the setting of my novel, this is the situation I usually place everyone in. there is sweet romance and many chaotic events take place as the year wears on.

7. Their 2020s AU quarantine craft of choice?
Bella's routine would be mostly unchanged (not sure if that's a good or bad thing) She has heaps of projects to work on, so I guess programming is the answer to that.
Freddie would experiment as usual. His routine wouldn't change much either. At the encouragement of his foster parents (or adoptive parents, depending on the universe) he might try tie-dyeing. He'd get super cool effects (because I'm sure chemistry is involved in there somewhere) and would probably try to sell them eventually. Too bright and cheery to add to his wardrobe
Zach, on the other hand, would be bored out of his mind. He'd try tons of different things, like paint by number, bead kits (that are kinda like paint by number), crochet, puzzles. None of those would stick because, though he can sit down for a while, the thought of doing any of those things for months on end would scare him a little. Eventually, baking would stick. Not everything was good, and he only poisoned him and his dad once, but he liked it at least.
16. Kitchen catastrophe or gourmet home cook?
Bella is a whiz in the kitchen. At least compared to the others. She likes picking up different hobbies, especially those with a practical purpose.
Freddie might be able to cook if he tried. But laziness is too convincing to get him to help out.
Zach. Ohohoho Zach. Do NOT let him near the kitchen. It is a disaster waiting to happen. There will be fire, whether it's deliberate or accidental, no one knows, and anything he makes may or may not kill you
18. What do other people often notice first in them?
Bella's stance is very relaxed, and she seems confidant in herself. She has a graceful ease to the way she moves and talks. She's charismatic and seems to have an opinion and information about anything anyone brings up. She never stammers and never seems to hesitate. There's an air of practiced perfection that surrounds her. And her pep and bounce are unrivaled in length and enthusiasm.
Freddie is very articulate about any and all of his opinions. Despite being shorter than almost everyone, he somehow manages to look down on most people. He has scalding glares ready for anyone who doesn't quite keep up with his lightning fast thoughts. He carries himself with confidence and will let his eyes drift around the room, barely lingering on the person speaking unless they have something truly momentous to say. Unfortunately, his physical characteristics pale in comparison to his mind. He's a little slow (something he's endlessly bitter about) and has almost no stamina. It doesn't take a lot of activity to tire him out.
He's a bite sized package of sass, smarts and temper. Don't take him on a walk.
Zach also has a practiced ease. He laughs easily and is almost constantly smiling. No one seems to dislike him at all. He has only a little more grace than most teenage boys his age. Looking closer, he's quite toned and lasts longer than almost everyone in physical activity.

if you spend a LOT of time with Bella, or are particularly observant, you may notice that some movements seem forced. Her eyes are constantly shifting around the room and she stays silent longer than other people. Unless she's a little more relaxed or is forced to, she leaves gatherings first. Her only signs of tiredness are when her gaze lingers and her eyes almost cross, and it seems like she's staring at nothing. When she returns to the room again, she's briefly apologetic, but mixed negativity lingers in her eyes - annoyance, doubt, self hatred, guilt.
Zach's smile falters around certain people, but it's mostly unnoticeable. He avoids personal question and often changes subjects that encroach on room details, collection and parents. Fortunately for him, his charisma is barely forced; most of the cracks in his facade are from his defensiveness and secrecy.
Fera and Nala are sitting in the middle and are taking up 1 1/2 of the two seats they have since Fera is sitting on Nala's lap with her legs stretched out. They're sharing earbuds and enjoying the sun while listening to Willow (a black wlw singer) Fera is fiddling with some clay because the teachers on this bus are suffering greatly.
Victor-Hecate is pressed against the window sharing a seat with Tora. They're stressed being so close to Many People and also TORA GET YOUR HEAD BACK INSIDE! WE'RE GOING THROUGH A TUNNEL!! They are the only reason behind the lulls in chaos from Tora and Zach, but they don't have the heart to stop it most of the time; it's very entertaining and they love seeing their partner so happy.

7. Which OC wasn’t supposed to exist but captured your heart immediately?
I don't think I've accidentally created an OC for a story, but I think the closest one that comes to it is VH. I came up with the concept of Vee's powers randomly, because I often try to dream up unique powers with prominent drawbacks. I had no plan for them, but as an alternate universe with characters I love was created around them, they really took my heart
21. Which of your OCs could greatly benefit from therapy?
All of them! I have destroyed them all 😁 Fera probably needs it least, since she's very in touch with her thoughts in emotions so she doesn't lose control and hurt people.
Freddie probably needs it a lot, because of things that happen in A New Infection, and since his biological parents didn't give him as much love as they should have
23. Your MC frantically writes out a detailed note for your other characters to read. How legible is the note?
No one is supposed to be more main than any others, so I'll do it for everyone
Bella: it's perfect. She wouldn't be able to deal with it any other way
Freddie: are you supposed to be a doctor later in life?

☀️ What makes your OC genuinely happy? A person, an item, their hobby? Where is the place they’re happiest, or most at home? What is the happiest they’ve ever been?
He loves so genuine time with people - family and close friends, people he's not afraid to be himself around. Though he'd prefer to do something active since he gets bored easily, so long as it's quality time, he's happy. The place he's happiest is probably in his grandparents backyard, in the treehouse with his cousin, Ethan. He probably can't pinpoint any specific memory, but that's also where he's spent his happiest moment.
🌙 If your OC could have one wish come true what would it be and why? Would there be consequences to this wish or would they regret it once they get what they want? What would they give in return for this wish to come true?
He'd love to meet his mother, and have a chance for his dad to see her again. He hates seeing his dad grieve so acutely, and the stories he's heard about her make her seem really nice. By the law of equivalent exchange, it would probably be a life for a life, which he wouldn't trade. It's not his business to be battering over life and death, and it's probably better to let her be

She likes platonic snuggles and hugs! She won't give them, but she'll receive and reciprocate them. She's also sex repulsed, so... those boundaries are there. And unfortunately, due to a toxic relationship with a guy that was forced on her due to peer pressure, the small of her back will send her into a breakdown. He often pulled her towards him like that, so she has negative feelings towards any pressure there. Other than that and acknowledging her repulsion to sex, she's pretty chill with physical affection
April Prompts Day 5 - sunlit
Featuring Zach and a mention of Ethan, his cousin and childhood friend
Rolling over, Zach sighed and gazed forlornly into the emerald leaves. He fiddled with the twine knot that secured the ladder to the treehouse. The treehouse he and his cousin made. His cousin, Ethan. His best friend of many summers. He remembered breakfast. Homemade waffles, with thick, sweet, maple syrup that cascaded down the ridges like the streams they played in when they were younger. Fresh fruit on the side that stained their lips red. Was- was that a seed? Stuck in his teeth? That was the worst. The only thing worse was that Ethan had left him. He huffed again, sadness tinging the breath. Sadness and syrup from earlier that day. Syrup and sugary waffles. He lifted his wrist to his face, his hand drooping as he checked the time. It would be hours until Ethan returned from his dentist appointment. His arm flopped pathetically to his side. Bathing in the dappled sunlight in the treehouse, a thought flitted across his mind. He barely tilted his head, using as little energy as possible, and checked the time again. Seven, no, eight minutes since he’d left. Ethan had been gone. For Eight. Minutes. What was he going to do for hours?
He surveyed the sunlit yard; a rusted goal sat on the corner of the lawn, a beam was pushed against the house, and a rumpled net concealed a container full of various balls. Heaving himself up, he leaned against the side of the treehouse, the wood worn smooth with time. A tire swing swayed gently in the breeze. Almost shiny branches stretched enticingly upwards. He let out a whoosh of air. It just wasn’t the same alone. He popped up and slid between the lateral fence posts. Grabbing the rope that secured the tire swing, he slid down, calluses disguising the rope burn. Bouncing briefly on the balls of his feet, he began a chasse forward, picking up the pace, his steps getting higher and higher until he let the momentum guide him into a side flip, landing him in front of the beam. He paused, catching his balance again, arms in front from a premature preparation to fall. Satisfied with his steadiness, he took a step forward and immediately stumble, his toe getting caught in a grass clump After brushing himself off, he grabbed the beam. Grunting and grumbling about how much easier it would be if Ethan was here, he dragged the beam towards the middle of the lawn, inch by inch, centimetre by centimetre.
He stood with his heels together, his shins pressed against the edge of the beam, and his arms up in a y-shape; the traditional starting position. Inhaling sharply, he tilted forward quickly, wrapping his hands around the bar and flipping upside down. His legs wavered in midair, and his bare feet were pointed. Still following the momentum, he kept tilting and landed upright, now on the beam. He should have gotten his foot wraps. He readied himself, bending his knees and holding out his arms. Exhaling sharply, he sprung. His heart lept with him. The sky careened over him, grey wispy clouds blurring by. Maybe the rest of the morning wouldn’t be that long. He landed with a quiet thud, in the finishing position once more.

!! It's nice to meet you, Kat! I think I'll do this one with Bella since I haven't shared some of this stuff about her before 🌷 Does your oc have any collections? What of? Any reason why? Jars and jars of tiny screws. They're left over from past projects, most of them busted, but she can't bring herself to let them go, so she keeps them as a reminder of what she's accomplished. All the jars are colored in greyscale and purple shades, arranged from darkest to lightest, with purple beginning on the white end. Some are warped from welding gone wrong and lids are dented because her cat loves to experiment with gravity. Also, tiny things are cute.
🌻 What little things make your oc happy? Would they admit that they make them happy? She loves sitting down and unwinding with cartoons. There's just something about being able to let go of the pressure of everyday life and just watching feel-good shows. And yes, she's cried over them. She won't deny it if someone confronts her about it, but she won't go out of her way to share it, since she aims to be perceived as a serious person most of the time.
🌳 What are some things your oc is proud of? Her earliest projects. She programmed the lights in her room to be sound activated when she was about 8, a dirty clothes sorter, and a mechanical stationary organizer at 9. She still uses all of them and has only had to do minor upkeep over the years. Though she loves the prize-winning things she's made, she wouldn't trade the first projects for anything - they opened her eyes to how much she loves programming.

Thank you, Rose!! I'll do everyone since it's pretty simple Bella: Black - not because it's dark or angsty, it's just a classy colour that goes with everything. Zach: Magenta and navy blue, like his first plushy and his dad's uniform, respectively Freddie: Favourite colours are for people of lower intelligence (red and gold like Iron Man's suit) Fera: Purple - there's something complex, deep and soft about it that she really likes Nala: Green - any shade really, but mostly darker greens. It's just a nice colour and one that she's kind of adopted over the years. You don't want to know how many green flannels she has
Victor-Hecate: Burgundy - it’s just a nice cozy colour. Plus, her brother has fifty pajama shirts that are burgundy/maroon, so the colour reminds him of all the nights he spent comforting them.

Nala: pens. you know those tacky, not very good pens business give away? those, and green flannel. She's gay and likes green, what do you expect
VH: beanies. it began as a way to better protect them from contact and then it spiraled out of control
🍀 Who has the best luck of your ocs? The worst?
VH probably has the worst luck, considering the powers they got stuck with. And I'll give Fera the best luck (disregarding her own bad deal with powers) so she now finds pennies pretty much everywhere, and will almost never miss a bus
💮 What are your oc’s best skills?
VH is incredible at gymnastics. They go all out at their gym and are probably in the top five of their age group state-wide. They love being able to physically spend themselves, balancing out the hours they spend at home hiding from people
Fera can bring a garden back from the dead, and she's done it before. I'd say she works magic on it, but that's not her power. She's just great with plants.

"No. No, it can't be like this. It shouldn't-" Bella cut off with a silent sob. She sunk to the ground, the now gravel-like main road pressing tiny rocks unnoticed into her knees.
The once proud two storey library was now a mound of rubble that barely reached the top windowsills of nearby houses. Marble, romanesque pillars were tiny hills of white by the front, only their waist high foundations remaining. Charred tapestries were buried under broken bricks. Ash stirred in a gentle breeze. Stray, crumbling, unbound pages rustled, trapped under the wreckage, the only remains of the thousands of books, list in the freak explosion the remaining blaze. Another casualty lost to the chaos of the first few hours of the apocalypse.
Bella still sat, destroyed by grief, in front of the library's ruins. She gave herself two more minutes to mourn and reminisce. She couldn't afford any more, for the boys not to be let down, and for all their safety. The library had stolen hours of loneliness when she was young, silent, and friendless. It has satiated her ever burning curiosity, afternoon afternoon, week after week, month after month. It had given her so much: purpose, peace, companionship. Now it was destroyed, taking her with it. A lone tear traced a clean path down her ashy cheek.
A hand rested on her shoulder. "Come on." Zach's voice was gentle. "It's not safe to stay out in the open."
"Right." The word was hollow. She felt only empty as she rose, aided by Zach's calloused hand. Turning, she left her hopes and their sanctuary broken behind her.

For the song/poem thing! Anabella is a very smart, older sister type character. She is very good at programming, and has a silver tongue that can convince almost anyone to do almost anything she wants, which she earned by doing hours of intense research, but she sometimes struggles with empathy. Her favourite thing to do is learn. She very quickly loses her put together nature if she's tired (I don't know if that's too much or not enough, but I hope you liked it at least)
Sorry for the late response! Anabella literally reminds me of one of my own OCs, and yet I still struggled to think of a song for this.
After a while of trying to find something more fitting, I decided the best I could do was Infinitesimal by Mother Mother.
It references the Big Bang and how atoms never technically “touch,” which could relate to how your character loves to learn. The song is about feeling insignificant, which could maybe fit if your character ever feels bad about struggling with empathy, or thinks about her smallness in the universe when she “loses her put together nature?”
Probably a stretch, but I tried!
