Aarakocra - Tumblr Posts

Here are some trading cards that I made for D&D! I made an Aarakocra, an Aboleth, and a Flying Sword.

I thought I should try just posting some drawings I thought looked nice but never had a reason too post.Β
The first two are DnD characters while the last one is a redraw of a demon oc I made for an animatic i did last year.

Finally drew my Aarokocra fighter for once. Her name is Salleek and is on the more stupid side. She takes a lot of things seriously but I love her.

Technically this is my second aarakocra but the first one I cannot post because I destroyed my phone so I'm really sad but this is my second Big bird.ποΈπ¦π¦ π₯

More Pixel things! I wanted to post tay (left, belongs to @stayingdead ) but I couldnβt post him without his friend Vernon (right, belongs to @sirwoop ) !

My monk got turned by a wererat. Heβs not handling it well. Drew depressed boi.
this is so niche but ive been helping a friend design her dnd character and i have been struck by a bolt of inspiration that is HADEDA (ibis) AARAKOCRA that is a BARD and when he casts vicious mockery he just makes the hadeda HA HA HA HA call that strikes fear into the heart of south africa.
Yes, AND! :D
I honestly think that these characters do even more than give the Paladin a good guy moment...
It's not just that the camera hangs on the happy reunion for a few beats longer than another director normally would (which emphasizes that this rescue MATTERS)...
Look at how the women next to the Tabaxi react to the rescue.
And how Jarnathan's coworkers react to him being hijacked.
This movie is showing that these aren't just curiosities or monsters who happen to be hanging around, like decorations for the story.
These folks are fully accepted parts of their respective communities.
There are people who CARE whether the Tabaxi is saved -- to the point of the women being familiar enough with the Tabaxi mother to touch and comfort the mother and child, and to react in joy and wonder in a way that is more than mere appreciative bystandership.
Coworkers who care about Jarnathan's dignity and safety enough to -- not just react in shock and worry at his distress -- but to brick up their only window in a dark, cold, high room; so as to prevent anyone from trying to take advantage of Jarnathan in that way ever again.
Each of these species -- and presumably every other species in the movie -- are fully accepted as sentient beings, and live their lives alongside others in a harmonious and perfectly normalized way.
It brings the world of the movie very vividly to life!
I ADORE IT SO MUCH!!! β¨πππ₯³π₯³π₯³ππβ¨
