And uh… you don’t too? Su-Won? Cause I think you’re also dealing with a complicated situation regarding love. 

Unconscious contradiction here? There was a certain woman super into you who you betrayed… someone you should be forgetting, but haven’t.   

And about what Lili said….

“does he know how Yona felt?” — interesting question, cause —

Yeah… he knows how Yona felt, Lili. 

He… knows. 

He can’t forget that she could not forget him, that she wanted to marry him. But he definitely has no desire to delve into it.

In a previous post, I mentioned that Lili asked this question “you don’t intend to murder her, do you?” in the same place that Hak asked years ago, “do you love the Princess (romantically)?” And so I wondered if Su-Won, above, had a deja vu of Hak’s question when Lili asked him this. But he most likely does not want to answer that. He’s probably not told a single soul about Yona’s feelings for him. 

That’s why I’m kind of sure that when Su-Won eventually learns that Hak and Yona are romantically involved (not any time soon!) he’s gonna find a very difficult time forgetting what he could have had with Yona had he not made the decisions he did. He might be haunted by what it would have been like if he were in Hak’s place. It hits harder because Hak is not a random guy, he was and still is Su-Won role model, goal, someone he constantly compared himself to and wanted to be like, someone Il approved of… and now Hak’s with the woman who used to love him… don’t you think Su-Won could start comparing himself to Hak regarding that? Wanting to be Yona’s love interest like Hak is, despite knowing that is impossible? 

That’s why from my viewpoint, the people going, “but Su-Won sees Yona as a little sister/kid/sibling asdhjkfhasdklfh” may be kidding themselves at this point. Not only has “not forgetting someone (despite impossible circumstances)” been used in the above panels in a romantic context like, 4 times, but Su-Won knows what she felt for him is not platonic which triggered some non-platonic sentiments in him in the very first chapter. Hasn’t their dynamic changed greatly since? 

And on another note, why do I feel like this is all setting up for Su-Won paralleling with Lili? Maybe… because this way Su-Won and Lili might understand one another better. Maybe they’ll end up together? Su-Won x Lili? Just some speculation.
