Can't wait for Margot Robbie's Barbie to bring back this style of cinema! π ποΈπ πΈ

There was a time when movies like "Clueless" & "Legally Blonde" featured female protagonists posssessing feminine personalities yet are still fully realized & in depth characters. Now, as much I love "Mean Girls," it most likely reverted hyper feminine women (especially blondes) back to being either antagonistic snobs or comedic airheads to otherwise tomboyish or subdued protagonists. Despite being around for 60 years, Mattel's Barbie doll has met it's fair share of criticism for infiltrating beauty standards & being a negative role model for younger girls despite promoting the idea that they can pursue any occupation they could think of. I have plenty of faith in Greta Gerwig's film in not only bringing back this style of genre but also addressing the false assumptions associated with the icon doll.
