came up with the idea that BD is hilariously hyperactive in the mornings, and if Cal's doing okay, the unfortunate sleepyhead is attacked by a bored droid
He's definitely gloating to himself because the redheaded Emperor's Hand is definitely Kenobi's daughter. He's happy to see that Kenobis can be corrupted.

BD-1 tries to wake up Cal so he downloads an alarm sound but it’s the same alarm Cal had on Bracca so he wakes up in a panic thinking he’s late for work, gets dressed in two seconds and tries to run out the door only to break his nose when he runs into the wall of the Mantis. He’s still half asleep.
I know you have several time travel AUs already but consider: the last (4) Jedi wind up in the Clone Wars era.
Only one of them is an actual Jedi, half of them are romantically involved with someone (maybe even with each other if you ship skybridger), another half are extremely close with one or more Mandalorians, and none of them have had more than two years of training. And somehow THEYRE the only ones left.
The council would have a conniption.
