Summary: Y/n can’t get something off her mind lately, and Ben notices.

“Hey Y/n, are you ok? I’ve been looking for you.” Ben asked catching up to his sister.

“Ummm, I’m ok. I think.” Y/n mumbled not really looking towards her brother

“Come on.” Ben grabbed her hand. “We grew up together. We are technically siblings.”

Y/n sighed, taking a deep breath looking up at him. “I love that we are siblings. Technically. There’s no one I would’ve rather grown up with. You are my brother.”

“And you’re my sister.” he smiled brightly at Y/n. “Now what’s on your mind?” Ben asked before they both moved to sit by the fountain.

“With all, that’s been going on…” she started to explain but then stopped, still unsure how to explain what’s going on with her.

“Come on tell me.” Ben encouraged

Y/n let out a breath turning to sit facing him more “Don’t get me wrong ok? I love Mal, Evie, Carlos, and Jay being here.”

“I know. You’re really close with all of them. They love you.” he nodded

“And I them. But. . . I can’t help but think about it lately. Ben you know I’m a Villians kid. That I was taken in by your parents cause whoever mine are asked them to. They won’t tell me. When we hinted that we thought we weren’t blood-related they had a chance to tell us. Hell they had a chance to even come out and say I was adopted. But they didn’t. We only found out because we snooped when they were visiting the charmings. They won’t tell us who I’m really from.” Y/n spoke heavily about the subject. She didn’t understand why lately it has been weighing on her mind.

“Oh, Y/n.” Ben gave her a sympathetic smile

Y/n looked around then back to her brother before continuing “I love them to peices. They have been great to me. They care for me as if I really am there’s, and they are my parents- I consider them my parents. But I-”

“You want to know about who you come from.” he nodded, understanding her completely.

“Yeah” she nodded sadly

“We could try asking again.” Ben suggested, shrugging. Although even he didn’t think it was worth a shot after last time.

Y/n shook her head erratically. “We tryed going to them when we were ten and I started having spark’s of magic here and there, remember? Before we could even get two sentences out they shut down the conversation. You helped me through it and learn to control it. Even when they got so strong I could barely touch anything without it getting burned.”

Ben pulled her into a tight hug. Seeing her start to hyperventilate. “We’ll figure it out, ok? I promise.”

“Ben! Y/n! Come join us.” Evie waved over the royal siblings

“I- uh actually have some stuff I got to do. But Ben go ahead.” Y/n smiled at the Vk’s then looked to her brother nodding for him to join them.

“Wait! Y/n.” Ben looked to her worriedly

Y/n smile to reassure him. “Don’t, ok.I’ll be fine. I just need to be alone for a bit.”

“What about what we talked about?” he asked before she could leave.

Y/n pulled him over a little ways away from the Vk’s and whispered to him, “Our rooms are right next to eachother. Ben, we even have a door that just goes to the other’ room. So we’ll talk tonight.”

“Be safe.” Ben said reluctantly letting her go off alone.

“I will. You know I can take care of myself.” Y/n winked at Ben

The VK’s all watched the two siblings have their hushed conversation. After a  bit, Ben headed over to sit next to Mal at their table. They did all find it suspicious how Y/n headed off into the woods alone and that Ben kept sneaking glances back at her retreating form.

“Hey, you ready to talk?” Ben asked from the open doorway connecting their rooms together.

“Yeah” she told him turning in her desk chair

“So I was thinking maybe the VK’s could help.” he told her moving into the room, sitting on her bed facing her.

“Help with what?” Y/n asked tilting her head

“Help us figure out who your parents are.” Ben explained

Y/n nodded “that could work, they know all the Villians.”

“That and they’re concerned for you.” Ben stated

Y/n smiled letting out a breath “I’ll talk to them tomorrow. It’s Saturday so they’ll come over to my room anyway. Just like every Saturday.”

The next morning Y/n headed over to Evie and Mals dorm room. Y/n knocked on the door after hearing an ‘it’s open’ she entered. So she turned the nob and entered “Hey, girl.”

“Hey” Mal and Evie spoke at the same time

After some silence, Evie couldn’t take anymore. “Well, I’m gonna just cut to the chase. We’re worried for you.”

Y/n smiled at them mumbling an ‘I know’. “Ben’s gathering Jay and Carlos an then we’ll explain what’s been going on with me. I promise.”

“Ok, we are all here now.” Ben said looking around the girls’ room.

“So are we gonna find out what’s been up with you finally?” Jay asked, looking at the two siblings.

Ben nodded “Yeah, but guys you all have to promise to keep this a secret. You can’t tell anyone. It stays between us, this group.”

Y/n nodded along with her brother frantically “Yeah, please guys. Ben’s the only one that knows about this. Well only one to know about a part of this. Two maybe three other people in Arudon, that know about the other half.”

They all looked to Dude, knowing everything he hears he ends up saying out loud. In random places, around everyone and anyone.

“Ok you two are starting to get me really nervous.” Carlos said putting Dude out of the room.

“Same. You’re actually scaring me.” Mal spoke nervously to

“Well for starters you all know Y/n is my sister.” Ben started

“Duh. I think everyone in Arudon and on the Isle knows who that.” Carlos answered sarcastically

Y/n rolled her eyes at Carlos “What no one really knows is that we technically aren’t.”

“What?” they all said at the same time, confused.

“We don’t have the same parents.” Ben added

Carlos rose his hand “still confused here”

“Belle and Beast took me in. They adopted me when I was a baby.” Y/n looked to Ben then back to the VK’s.

“Wait! Really?” Mal asked

“But you two are so alike in so many ways.” Evie spoke looking between the royal siblings

“You even look alike.” Jay pointed out

“Probaly why no one suspects anything” Ren nodded along, listening to what they’re saying.

“Wait. then who are your parents?” Mal set her gaze on Y/n.

“We don’t know.” Ben admitted

“What do you mean you don’t know?” Evie asked

“Well, we” Y/n let out a light breath “Don’t know. But Beast and Belle do. They just won’t tell us.”

Ben gave a tight-lipped smile. “We tryed to hint to it once and they shut down the conversation in an instant.”

“Wow” Carloe mumbled

“Yeah” Y/n agreed

“What’s the other thing?” Jay asked, remembering what they said at the beginning

“I also have magic.” Y/n said in a light tone, looking out the window.

“What?!” Mal and Evie exclaimed

Y/n could tell they were still suspicious so she sighed before turning her gaze to them again. Then she flashed her eyes. They flashed a beautiful shade of blue.

“That’s just like Mal but a different color.” Evie spoke quietly

“Are you having trouble with-” Mal asked standing up

“Yeah” Y/n nodded

“And it just happens when you feel-” Mal added

“Uh, huh” Y/n smiled

Mal sighed “someone who gets it. Like no offense guys.”

Evie smiled at the two magical girls. “No, Mal I understand. I think we all do. We can’t know what your feeling about your magic because we don’t have it.”

“What can you do?” Jay asked even more interested now.

Ben smiled proudly” she can do a lot”

“How long have you had magic?” Evie asked standing now to.

“My eyes glow, magic and just natural things I can do with it. It’s been going on for years. The first time it happened we were 10 I think?” Y/n looked over to her brother

“Yeah, we were 10 and we saw our childhood horse get shot by an archer. By the area behind the castle.” Ben explained to their friends

“I was upset, obviously. Angry, sad it was awful.” Y/n looked down

“That’s the first time her eyes glowed.” Ben stated

“And the archer was thrown in the air and then into the lake.” Y/n tryed not to laugh as she remembered what her magic and she caused.“After that small things would happen randomly. Then bigger things started happening. Ben helped me learn to control it, but we were to scared at first to ask about it. The things we are taught from pre-school is that all magic is bad. Expect for what was used for all the good guys.”

Ben sighed remembering growing up how that’s all they ever heard about magic, and that certainly wasn’t the case.”We didn’t want to say anything when the outcome could be bad. Eventually, we decided to try and talk to our parents about it.”

“But before we could get out about what was going on they shut us down, not letting us even get out enough words to explain. Gave us a speech on how not all magic is bad but most of it is works of evil.” Y/n rolled her eyes. Always hating Arudon’s view on magic.

Ben nodded in agreement with his sister’s words” It was a long speech and all they really did was say magic is bad and it’s not wanted. We knew right then that we couldn’t tell them.”

Evie gave them a sympathetic look “Aw, you guys had to deal and hide all this since you were 10!”

“We were wondering.” Ben started before looking to his sister kinda for her approval. Once Y/n nodded her head as a sign for him to continue. “Ok, I was thinking after yesterday and seeing you all concerned about Y/n. Would you guys mind helping us figure out who Y/n’s birth parents are.”

“Of course.” Evie smiled answering barely a second after he stopped talking.

“Well, we know it has to be someone with magic and powers.” Jay cut in

“That only narrows’s it down to the main Villains really.” Carlos stated

“That’s still a lot.” Mal sighed

“We’ll figure it out though, ok? We’re gonna help you two figure this out.” Evie stated, and they all nodded in agreement with Evie’s words.
