A BILLION FOR BORIS (Dir: Alex Grasshoff, 1984).

A Billion for Boris is the film adaptation of Mary Rodgers' sequel to her novel Freaky Friday.

Repairing an old TV set, Ben ‘Apeface’ Andrews (Seth Green) fixes it to show the next day’s programmes. He duly shares this information with his sister Annabel (Mary Tanner) and friend Boris (Scott Tiler). Seeing the money making potential, Boris heads off to bookies, but his winning streak attracts the unwanted attention of gangsters.

A movie version of Freaky Friday (Gary Nelson) was released by Walt Disney Productions in 1976. Although popular, Disney chose not to film either of Rodgers’ published sequels. A Billion for Boris was brought to the screen almost a decade later courtesy of independent Comworld Pictures.

As such, it is an adaptation of the sequel to the novel, rather than a sequel to the Disney feature. The setting, as in Rodgers’ books, is a New York apartment block, not the suburban Los Angeles of Disney’s Freaky Friday. The events of the earlier movie are not referenced, with the exception of the firing of the Andrews’ housekeeper for stealing liquor.

As a low budget production, A Billion for Boris lacks the polish of Freaky Friday. Also missing is Rodgers’ prose; as screenwriter of the original movie she captured much of the spirit of her book, even though significant changes were made to the plot.

Its largely unrecognisable cast doesn’t have the appeal of the previous movie. Of the adults, Lee Grant does a neat turn as Boris’ quirky mom. Future star Seth Green is standout among the kids as ‘Ape Face’.

In spite of this, it is still an entertaining movie. Some might question the theme of underage gambling and while it would raise a few eyebrows today, I doubt it did in 1984. Use it as opportunity to discuss with your kids the morality of betting if you will, but I wouldn’t let it put you off.

While A Billion for Boris doesn’t raise big laughs it does provides some chuckles. I am fairly certain I won’t revisit it as often as Freaky Friday, a childhood favourite that holds up as an adult. However, it does hold curiosity value to fans of that movie and is undemanding, lightweight fun.

Yuriy/Tala and Boris/Bryan had a very tragic backstory, but at the same time not so far from the reality some kids has to live.

I wish we knew more about what happened to them and the rest of the boys before and after the Abbey.

Miffy & Boris bedside night lights (2019)

Happy t-pose Thursday I know it isn’t a thing but I didn’t do it on Tuesday (also I only just made this today) and I taught myself to draw these 4 today so yea

So I had a bendo dream last night.. I can't remember all of it clearly or the order it went in but I'll do my best to describe it. So basically at one point I was in the old workshop, but a few levels down.. Except it wasn't a room that was from the actual game, it was more like a cavern but with ink dripping down the walls. Then ink bendy came and killed me. I came back, but now I was at the FrankenBoris fight, but it was in my bedroom. I then tried to open the chest from Bertie's fight so I could get the axe, and I was using things in my room- like my cat pillow pet - to open it. I couldn't, so I was like 'welp, guess I better wait for Boris to open it'. Then Boris pulls out a fREAKING CANNON BALL GUN. It looked kind of like the emergency rescue suction device from kill la kill (https://goo.gl/images/rrTknj) but it was black and more tech like.... And it shot cannon balls. So I finished the fight (somehow), then I was in the actual Boris fight room, but the balcony from BATIM chapter 2 (where Sammy will stand after you open the sanctuary opens) was there, Alice, Allison and resistance Boris were standing there, Allison tells me to go up there now that I was finished. neXT, I was back at my house, and Sammy was there. Me and my family were going somewhere, so I was like "Sammy put on a shirt" or something. Then he takes a pen and draws dotted lines along his neckline to symbolize where a shirt would be. And then a black shirt appears on him. Also I gave ink bendy a hug when I saw him next Anddddddd that's all i can remember from the bendy part. In another part I was on a small roller coaster that kept going and team rocket's Jessie and James were also on it and they were telling me to help

If you didn't know I used to be mainly on Google+. And on there I had a comic called "The Trip Down to ink town". It is where Bendy stole the toon heart of Mickey so him and Oswald have to get it back.

It features characters such as, Felix, cuphead, mugman, Boris, ortensia etc

I'm planing on remaking the series on here so let's hope I have the motivation

Decided to do another Halloween picture, this time with @bornoffireandwisdom’s BATIM Saudade characters.

Wally decided to dress as Boris and is very excited about showing his costume off. He borrowed Sammy’s overalls for it and everything.

Sammy dressed as Alice, since she’s his favorite character and he thought it’d be nice to match with Susie.

Henry’s a ghost. He’s very proud of himself.
