I watched Nightmare Before Christmas for the first time and thus have completed my emo training. It was super cute and not at all what I was expecting. Would watch again... which is a statement for me because I DESPISE claymation within the very depths of my soul.

Gotta give Laika respect for their works, especially as claymation takes more time & effort than even hand drawn animation.

REMINDER THAT LAIKA’S SECOND FILM NOT ONLY CONSISTED OF A CAST WITH FOUR CENTRAL FEMALE CHARACTERS BUT INCLUDED AN ENTIRE TOWN OF DIVERSE CITIZENS OF VARYING RACE, GENDER, AND AGE. LIKE A NORMAL TOWN HAS.

also reminder that they make chump change compared to disney who whines and cries that in all their years of experience they can’t handle the prospect of animating a girl with a face different than the rest and that it’s “too hard” because only females can express such a wide range of emotions that it makes them difficult to animate
if a studio with 20-30 years of experience can manage this then SURELY an established studio with NEAR 100 YEARS of experience can maybe, just maybe, include a female that ISN’T a part of their formula

I did a little claymation for a now sadly scrapped collab, but I had a LOAD of fun with it!! Could I beat a Suchomimus in a fight? Well no, but still had alot of fun working on it and I hope you have alot of fun watching me respond to the question!

Will soon give some updates on the claymation! We are currently “filming” (it isn’t technically filming since we are just taking multiple pictures. Basically stopmotion rip). As soon as we finish the claymation, I will post it here or YouTube, depends if Tumblr isn’t a butt.
