Codpiece - Tumblr Posts

Here’s a quick round-up of a bunch of orders I made in the last month or two. Been having a busy patch with both crafting and life, and I fell behind on posting projects, so I’m just bundling these together to clear out some of the backlog.
We’ve got: • Eyeglasses-compatible mask • Hair barrettes, ginkgo and simple pattern • Hand-sewn codpiece with contrasting red stripe • Collar/choker necklace in stainless steel chainmail, with metal slide-release buckle • Scale bracelet in stainless steel • Leather buckled bracelets with a hatchwork pattern
As always, everything is available on my Etsy, link in bio.

New codpiece design! This one has a flatter, wider profile than my others, making it great for wearing over clothes. And the faceted, polygonal shape would fit in well with a cyberpunk outfit in addition to a classic fantasy armor set.
And here’s the Etsy link!
This design was modified from a custom commission I made about 2 years ago now, here’s that early version for the curious. I don’t always say yes to custom design requests like that, but that was one that I knew I could adjust into a stock product going forward. I just sorta forgot to follow through on that plan for a while.

Another new codpiece design! This one is shaped especially to cup and support. When worn on its own it nestles against your skin comfortably, keeping your assets secure. When worn over pants it presses forward particularly prominently.
The pattern is a cleanup and simplification of the codpiece I designed for my Magic Meat March Paladin armor earlier this year. I decided to make this first updated copy in this smooth black pre-finished leather because it’s proved to be a particularly popular material with my codpieces over the years.

Codpieces! I shipped these two out last week.

Decided to subtly improve this codpiece design. I decided it was a bit too flat, and needed to curve to hug the hips better, and it needed a bit bigger of a bulge for obvious reasons. Updated version first, previous iteration second.
I’d originally designed this one physically, though. I’d traced the pattern geometry into CAD to laser cut, but it turns out that (as best I can tell) reconstructing a 3D form from its flattened geometry is an unsolved problem. So what I thought would be a quick edit turned into rebuilding it from the ground up.
I’m pretty happy with the update, but I think I got only about halfway to where I wanted it. Gotta pump the curvature up a bit more again still. Should be faster to make the tweaks next time though.
4 oz vegetable-tanned leather, designed by me, cut with a laser, then dyed gold and assembled by hand.

Here's a codpiece I made earlier in the year, it's my fig leaf design but the customer wanted it in a darker set of colors.
I quite liked how it turned out, so I've added it as a standard option. Here's the Etsy listing!

This has definitely become my favorite codpiece design. I made this version to have in stock for ANE earlier this year, when I wanted to have a variety of colors shown. I went for the same color combination as I used for the costume that this design originated with - seen here.
It's available over on my Etsy. I'd love to make it in more colors for people, too!

Just finished up a custom spiked version of my paladin codpiece for a customer.
I quite liked how it turned out! I might make another later and tweak it a bit further, though. I'm considering making it Less Spiky and switching to rounded studs, but also considering More Spiky and squeezing in a line of 1" or taller spikes down the very center.
In the meantime, I've added this as a variant of the design over on my Etsy page.

Here's some photos of my table setup from Anthro New England, finally getting around to posting them.
I had 2 nearly totally separate table setups, actually--one from the regular dealers' den, and one from the 18+ night market. The daytime table had all my masks and jewelry, the after-dark one had mostly collars and codpieces, with the big hoods and a couple harnesses thrown in for good measure.
The convention was my most successful one to date, but I aim to do even better in the future!

Made this codpiece as a custom request. Client wanted brass on black, which is a gorgeous combo, but I haven't really fully stocked brass hardware, and the client was on a deadline. Turned out I had just enough spare from another custom job to get it done, with some tweaks.
Client also asked for matte black instead of glossy. Which, it turns out, I had used to mostly seal my stuff with a matte finish, but I switched a few years ago because it seemed most people preferred the shiny. I'd kinda forgotten how noxious that stuff was to work with though.
You can get one of these in my regular array of made-to-order colors here. If folks like the brass hardware, I'll think more about stocking them.
