Digital Minimalism - Tumblr Posts

Rainy days. My screen time has been causing so much mental distress and unrest that I've decided to take all the teachings from Cal Newport's Digital Minimalism and incorporate in my day to day.

This entails Mobile-free zones and Mobile-friendly zones in the house, using the guest room when I'm studying because it has no wifi connectivity.

I've made sure to explain to my family and my close ones about my non-availability during certain hours so I can study uninterrupted. I feel grateful that they're all enthusiastic about supporting me.

In order to achieve the ambitious goals I've set for myself, I have to make sacrifices and undergo some transformation to make it happen. Here's to hoping it will happen <3

I hate it but I can't stop

Instagram HATES when you try to use it from the web browser. They hate it so much they will NOT let you doomscroll through the browser. The reels will stop loading and they will suddenly "have problems loading the video" well jokes on YOU bitch i specifically use you on my browser to limit my doomscrolling HAHA SUCK IT

Today I saw that youtube on my phone has an option that wasn't there before—it was the option to disable youtube. I clicked it, and youtube disappeared from my workspace. "Wow! I just got rid of youtube! If I delete chrome (and everything that comes inside), I will dumbafy my phone!" I thought. Because youtube doesn't work on PC either, I will see how long I can hold like that, knowing that I have interesting creators to watch. Although, even if I got rid of youtube, I know that soon enough, as I get my wi-fi, I will binge-watch on 6-hour videos that my favourite streamer did on his twitch channel he-he.
