Not counting DNIs that are obviously jokes, and assuming there's no specific item in the DNI that would change your mind about wanting to follow the blog–

DNI: Do Not Interact, usually a list of traits/beliefs/ideals where the blogger wants to prevent people with those traits from interacting with their blog (following them, liking them, commenting or messaging, etc).

The reality about a DNI is that its more of a warning that you won't interact with someone who fits it more than it is some kind of magical boundary line that prevents anyone from interacting with you in any capacity.

A DNI is not about the other person. Its about you.

Its you saying that if they engage with you, you're not going to reciprocate. You're going to prevent further engagement.

Furthermore; stop having unrealistic expectations and demands of how people respect DNIs and become aware of them. The other reality is that very few people will waste time clicking through multiple blogs and whole pages of requirements to make sure that them reblogging from someone who reblogged from someone else who reblogged your post isn't them violating your DNI. They're just going to see a post on their dashboard from someone they follow and they're going to reblog it.

And that's fine.

If you don't want it to happen again, you can block them. That's actually the entire purpose of that tool; to curate your own space.

A DNI is basically a no entry sign. Its all well and good, but its still up to you to lock the door.

"If you like monsterfucking or eat meat you can't reblog my aesthetic slime post" is honestly the funniest concept to come out of the new age of social entitlement tbh.

How exactly do you plan on stopping people reblogging it?

"Here's a cutesy gifset about a psychotic serial killer who murdered kids but also if you write dead dove you're not allowed to reblog it!"

"READ MY DNI" no. use your block button like an adult. i'm not scrolling through the many-paragraphs-long pinned posts of every blog i reblog something from. if you insist certain types of people aren't welcome in the notes of your posts then it's your responsibility to curate that. or choose a closed social media platform like facebook or instagram. or go and live in a barn away from humanity if you really don't like sharing the world with people who are different from you
