We all know about Brucie Wayne and his endless supply of poorly adjusted children, but a new billionaire family is taking the tabloids by storm- The Masters Brood.

Entrepreneurial billionaire and super fan of the Green Bay Packers, Vlad Masters recently adopted the children of his late college classmates, Madelyn and Jack Fenton in the wake of their tragic deaths. Two daughters and two sons, the oldest named Jasmine and the other three oddly named Dan, Danny and Danielle- the children have caused multiple scenes in public, from brawling with each other to harassing their adoptive father in public.

Masters himself only seems all too amused with the antics and often participates in the more harmless acts of tomfoolery like sneaking stickers onto the back of guests' heads and making light work of refreshment tables.

In the face of this new found family, will Brucie Wayne and his children be able to maintain their title as America's weirdest billionaires, or will that status be swept out from beneath them?

Guys this has been rotting in my brain for the past month and i think it has lots of potential.

So basically Danny & Damian childhood friends.

Somehow, someway (maybe after five years old Damian kills one too many instructors, which are irreplaceable, maybe his arrogance causes one too many failures) Talia convinces Ra's to put weekly 'play dates' with the other league's children. These play dates are supposed to show Damian his superiority over them, but also make him care for his future subjects.

What the two didn't account for, was, well... Children.

Damian wasn't the mildest child, not was he trying to be likeable. He didn't see the point. And when you add their parents repeating over and over again how important the new child is.. no wonder all of them were scared to even look at him.

The chosen child himself was quite happy with this development. He didn't want to be there in first place, especially because he was specifically forbidden from cutting down any annoyances. So it was a good thing none of them dared to come to 10 meters radius to him. He didn't mind the children immidietly bursting into tears, when they lock eyes. He didn't feel angry, because these weren't even children of any important people, with no obligations to be nice to him, and they didn't even dare to breath in his vicinity (seriously, a boy passed out because he didn't wish to breath when Damian was sitting few spaces next to him. It was ridiculous).

He didnt feel like an outsider, he felt like their leader. He didn't feel loneliness, he felt proud. He didn't, he did.

So.. when a child, always sitting in a corner staring at the sky, was cornered by several of the other children, he didn't do anything. He was someone they should follow, he did not owe them to solve their petty rivalries. (Even if they insulted the child for their expressionless face, for being unable to recognize their imaginery rules of some bigger game, for being different. Even when Damian started realizing with more and more terror, this would be him, if he wasn't All Ghul)

...maybe he should establish himself as a good leader, by helping them. This once at least.

Damian walked closer, only wanting to discuss whatever bullying problem was happening, but the moment the children saw him, they ran. Well, most of them at least.

Danyal was the child of some lower member of the league (maybe even someone who was under their protection, doesn't matter). He was a very quiet, some would even say antisocial. He would spend all his time staring at the stars and not mingling with his peers. He didn't often wore any sort of expression, but once Damian spend more time with him (unwillingly might he add, even if it was him who looked for the other boy, and maybe it wasn't unwillingly, but that's not something he wants to think about. Ever), he realized, Danyal was full of them. Every time he talked about the stars, mentioned the new book his parents gifted him, and as the time went, when Damian himself was mentioned, the demon's heir couldn't help but think the older boy would burst from them.

Damian still wasn't quite sure why he was hated by their his peers. He knew some people would find Danyal strange, but he didn't quite understood (wasn't he the same? Why was he brilliant perfect amazing but Danyal strange idiot weird?).

But what he did know for sure, was that Danyal was his. He was his subject, someone he took under his wing to protect, and in exchange, Danyal would look after him too. It might be helping him out with any assassination attempts, or telling him the stories of space, when the younger boy couldn't force his tongue to form words.

Or at least he had been.

The family Danyal was from was poor. So when one of the tougher times came, it wasn't strange one of their children had to go. And what choice it was, picking between healthy beautiful children and a 'ghost living in a body'.

Only Damian hated it. He didn't understand. While yes, Danyal was his subject, he had many of them. If he wanted to be a good leader, he can't just focus on one them. That would be unfair. He saw this choice being made so many times and he was never bothered by it, so why now—

In the end he never discovered the answer. He locked the question deep inside his chest, inside his heart, where nothing could ever reach. He was Al Ghul, he was too great to be caught of guard and be strucked in it.

So when years and years later, when he was already living with his father for some time, he saw a black haired, blue eyed teen with tan skin, and the same grin his friend subject had, of course it was natural he knocked him out and brought him into the manor.

Not because he missed Danyal or anything of course. He had to... Check if this was some sort of plot of his Mother. Naturally.

Danny finds out hes a clone/ adopted, and instead of processing that like a normal person he decides, "Well its not like they can find me so imma mess with my bio parent(s) while venting my frustrations. Two birds with one stone."

Hence (hero or villian of your choice) begins receiving letters via untraceable magic of him telling them he's thier clone/son and just telling them about his day/past adventures.

Unfortunately most of his adventures are horrifying and the person is desperately scrambling to find thier dumb (possibly undead) child and rescue them.

It probably doesn't help that Danny only signs his name as Phantom and is careful not to give clues to his location.

After moving to Gotham and having to deal with a stressful job, Danny has started taking walks around the city as a way to destress.

Since he knows that he could get mugged, he just becomes intangible and invisible while listening to some loud music on his phone.

Unfortunately for him, his control on his Invisibility keeps slipping when he gets lost in his music, and the people of Gotham keep seeing a semi-translucent ghost man walking around at night aimlessly.

Some thugs think it’s just a meta with invisibility and try to mug him, but pass right through and he disappears completely. This convinces them that he is a ghost, since having both invisibility, and intangibility would be too big a coincidence. Not to mention he never reacts to them whatsoever.

The Bat’s get word that a Ghost has been stalking the streets of Gotham, and he looks scarily like Bruce Wayne from the little they have been able to see from him. Now Batman thinks his dad may have come back as a ghost.

Danny is oblivious to all of this. He just likes his nightly strolls.

Alright, random idea about the Twin AU, or any AU where Danny is an Al Ghul. Everyone knows that Ra's has an entire army of assassins, but what about the dead assassins? I doubt Ra's is dipping everybody in the Lazarus pit.

So, what if they went to the ghost zone?

And then when Danny dies, these assassins, who are extremely loyal to the Al Ghul family, immediately start following him.

The main assassin in charge, I'm gonna call him Carl, whose been around since the very beginning of the league, who was Ra's right hand man, starts acting as Danny's second in command basically becoming his Alfred.

Carl orders some of the assassins to help Danny out with some small stuff, like distracting some of the rouges so he gets to school on time, killing the hotdogs in the fridge so the little prince doesn't die of poisoning, setting off a Fenton invention so Danny get make a getaway. He definitely orders them to not interfere in big fights, unless Danny really needs the help, as a way for Danny to learn how to fight.

Carl has no idea who the GIW is, but he's gonna find out and then he's gonna blackmail/threaten/unalive some people.

Danny doesn't even know that he's suddenly gained a ghost army, all he knows is that there's a few helpful ghosts hanging around that really hate hotdogs. And then when Danny becomes the ghost king, hoo boy. The assassins replace the old ghost kings army, set up their own system and chains of command just completely change everything. Carl takes FrightKnights place as the king's right hand man/ bodyguard, makes sure all the members of the royal family are safe and is ready to fist fight the time ghost if he makes one more attempt to get his job.

Danny: I wanna be an astronaut. Carl who has no idea what that is: Sure, just let me do some info gathering and blackmail some people. Danny: What? And imagine the batfams reaction.

Television series

Danny decides to open up a new TV program featuring superheroes and their adventures.

He travels the Infinite Realms documenting the battles and lives of each hero. He doesn't film them without their masks, he knows the importance of secret identity.

Its a big hit!

John Constantine was confused when he summoned a demon and refused his soul as payment instead asking him for autographs and photos of the JL.

This peaks his curiosity and thus begins the cascades of panic in the JL as to who is filming these and how the heck were those shots and camera angles taken.

Also Danny does a deep dive on the lives of Villains and their day to day schemes.

Batman is torn. On one hand its a breach in security. On the other hand they now have evidence on the villains. Luthor cant lie his way out of prison this time.

*Danny does 3 shows. 2 Documentary (one on Heroes the other Villains) and an Action show.

*Dead men spills no tales. Ghost and demons ain't gonna snitch him. This is good entertainment.

Fine line

Okay so we all know pre-reveal but already adopted Danny would question his whole life when he finds out about the vigilante life the Waynes are in but may I introduce you to:

✨Absolutely horrified Danny.✨

Basically he finds out that his seemingly normal family isn't so normal after all and due to the nature of the JL never responding to Amity calls he assumed that they were working with the government. This led to the realization that the family probably knows who he is (they really don't. They just think that he was a meta that doesn't want to deal with the crime-related life bs so they never brought it up) and they're probably in the midst of handing him to the GIW.

He's terrified, because god dammit he shouldn't have trusted a rich guy but he doesn't really have time to contemplate on his next move. Next thing you know Danny's holding a modified ecto gun that is now fatal to humans against Bruce.

The family is alert and ready to pounce on him, but they realized that Danny was shaking too much and his breathing was too ragged. His eyes are glossy and he's biting his lip like he's trying so hard to not drop the gun on his adoptive dad. Danny was having a panic attack.

   danny just wanted some coffee. but no he never gets what he wants. he is starting to regret exapring his scholarship to gotham university. here he was being held hostage in a small coffee shop with what looks to be like another equally tired teen. 

  danny smiled at the teen he may not be phantom at the moment but he still was a hero, his core never let him forget it. “you think my teacher will except hostage situation as a real excuse for being late?” danny tried to lighten the mood. the other boy snickers slightly “yeah im sure they will, your not native to gotham are you?” “no im just here for school, i go to gotham university”. the boy smiled slightly at that “i go there too, im tim” the teen now tim introduces.”cool im danny”. 

  the boys bonding was cut short by one of the gunmen. “you with the black hair stand up” the thug ordered. danny and tim both stood up “no not you” the tug jesters towards tim. the teen glared at the man and sat back down. the gunmen pointed his glock at danny. “your one of those wayne kids, ill get a pretty penny for you” the thug stated looking danny up and down. and tim let out an almost offended sound. danny is just confused. 

Dp x dc idea

So every scene I’ve been introduced to dp x dc, or more specifically in this case, young justice and dp. I’ve been thinking about the fact that yj Wally west purposefully recreated his uncles lab accident (Idk if this is the case with other Wally west but I know it is for yj so) to become a speedster.

Well imagine Danny finding out about this and losing his fucking shit. I’m someone who always headcannons that Danny was a lot more affected by his accident than he let on, so imagine mr emotionally repressed Danny learning that Wally not only willingly but purposefully recreated a dangerous lab accident just bc he wanted power.

Imagine Danny losing it as Wally. Screaming at his things like, what were you thinking? Do u understand how dangerous that was? And, you could have died!!

To the last one Wally says he had it under control and while there was a risk it was minimal. “Plus fatal lab accidents are a lot rarer than you think. Think about it. How many people do u know that died in a lab accident.”

“Well I did for one.”

Fake Cryptids, Real Ghosts

Ok, so dp x dc/batfam because this AU has me by the throat but what if it's the fake cryptid batfamily AU who never joined the JL.

Just...imagine it. The Batfamily has been protecting Gotham quietly but fiercely by scaring the daylights out of criminals as creatures that go bump in the night. A bit of stage magic, frightening method acting, contortion, a whole language comprised of chirps, growls, and body language, and the best tech possible and you've got a recipe for striking fear into the hearts of everyone.

They've got shrines on the rooftops, vaguely on the JL radar (Cause really, who's gonna believe that Gotham, one of the worst cities has a demon problem? Constantine? Homeboy took one look at Gotham and went Nope.) and they're protected cause any self respecting Gothamite wouldn't go spilling the beans to Outsiders. The Bats keep them safe. Who would believe them anyways?

Enter half dead, half alive Danny Fenton.

Danny Fenton who has a best friend's named Tucker and Sam who find out about the Gotham Cryptids, and go absolutely ham on research because here lies something,a bunch of someone's who are Other. Maybe they're creepy but they're cool and they're Heroes and they help people.

Sure, at first it was an attempt from Sam and Tucker to help their best friend feel less alone in the face of other, more 'normal' heroes and people out there in the world. Maybe they try to further bury the Bats online cause if anyone understands keeping on the down low, it would be Amity Parker's. For awhile, Danny Fenton, sometimes Phantom is simply happy to know he's not alone.

Then he's outed and his sister who's long since been ecto-contaiminated is put at risk there's nowhere that seems safer. Gotham is a chaotic city, even without the Bats factoring in. After all Gotham has (Demons-Spirits-Creatures?) The Bats already. Who would care if a halfa and his sister hide out there? As long as they're respectful of their territory, it'll be fine right? Besides, they've got to warn the Bats anyways about the GIW and government. They're coming after ghosts, who knows if they'll be next? Spooky things have to look out for each other after all.

Cue shenanigans as Phantom who stops hiding all of his creepier traits as a ghost walks up to the Totally Human but Faking it Batman with really thoughtful gifts for all of their shrines (And one fruitcake), no heartbeat and an earnest plea for a safe haven in their Haunt because the Ancients taught him manners and the importance of respecting another entities territory.

DC x DP Fic idea: The Bakery is a Front!...right?

Danny Fenton starts his own business in Gotham. He knows that moving to Gotham is dangerous in a way, but it is the only other place with enough natural ectoplasm that can sustain him.

He wanted to move away from Amity Park to start on a clean slate. His parents now knew the truth, and to show their support, they were turning their research into a more sociological base instead of biological- I.E. ripped ghosts apart. Jaz got accepted into her dream college- Oxbridge. She moved overseas and is doing well in her advanced physiological courses. They told their parents of Dani, who promptly adopted her and signed her up for a traveling club under the condition she returned home for school.

The ghosts stopped challenging him after he explained Amity was his haunt and that it was bad manners to spar inside a haunt. He is open game in the ghost zone, but Danny got to choose when to go in there- his obsession requires him to defend something, so defending weaker ghosts in the Zone was a good option.

Danny always wanted to be an astronaut, but his teenage vigilante lifestyle ruined his chances- it isn't even his grades. It's a fact Danny's heart is so slow due to his ghost side it is mistaken as a heart condition. No space program would ever send him up with that. Danny decided that he would instead go with his second joy- baking. He opened Phantom Bakes in his second week in Gotham using funds from his Ghost King vault.

He served everyone and asked no questions. He was mostly sure half of his customers were gang members, but he didn't start anything and didn't allow any fights in his bakery. He became a sort of haven for everyone. He even began preparing packs for people experiencing homelessness, and bought the building next door to put some heating systems for anyone to sleep In during the winter.

Despite his obsession with protection, his human side made it possible for him to ignore it. He decided that his teenage years were spent too much giving in to his obsession and that in his twenties, he would retire. He did nothing while the various Bats threw themselves into battle, he turned a blind eye to petty crimes and basically tried not to bring any attention to himself.

He managed about six months until he accidentally walked through a cloud of fear gas while texting Sam and Tucker. His friends were tying the knot- the fact they all were best friends and exes was only slightly strange- and he was so focused on helping them plan the wedding as their Best Man he didn't hear the gasps, and horrified yells until he ran into Scarecrow.

He apologized for not looking where he was going and got a needle shoved unto his arm as a response. Danny's reflex to that was to punch the man a foot away from him.

The Bats quickly locked up the villain, and Danny decided he needed to be gone as fast as possible. He tried to return to his everyday life, but the next day, some of Scarecrow's goons showed up at his bakery asking him for work....so he hired them and taught them to make pastries. Then those goons brought over some friends who needed work but were recovering addicts and couldn't find employment.

He added coffee to his menu and threw them into that. Then some street kids asked if he would buy some stuff from them. Danny told them that he wasn't interested in car parts, but he was interested in furniture for the building next door. He had kids bringing in broken bookshelves, bed frames, and much more, paying them far more than the shady garages would.

Then some shady groups of men kept coming to his bakery asking for money for protection but Danny can protect himself just fine and proved it every single time a group made trouble.

He started having the streey kids make deliveries hoping to get them out of life of crime.

He made natural ectoplasm which, after much testing and research done by his parents, proved to clean out dangerous substances from the body. He made unique pastries that could help overcome addiction and heal withdraw.

He saw the light slowly return to the eyes of a drug-ridden community, and it brought him so much joy he barely charged for them.

Unknown to Danny, he has set himself as a up and coming villain. Rumors of his Fear Gas immunity attracted the attention of the Joker- who was found with all limbs broken, beaten black and blue after the clown tried to take a swing at Danny's employees. The baker had taken his broken body back to Arkharm, dragging the bleeding man through the streets uncaring of the line of red he left or the various people recording him in awed fear.

The rest of Gotham waited to see his true colors as he carefully built a front and gathered people. Some want to take him out as soon as possible.

Red Hood, most of all, after he heard that Danny had kids run special deliveries to know addicts. The only reason he hadn't blown his brains out was because Danny hadn't set himself up in crime alley.

The Bats had even talked him into joining an undercover mission to learn more about Danny. They didn't know what drugs he was moving or if he had a hand in other crimes, and needed more information that Oracle was unable to find.

She couldn't pull anything on Danny, driving her insane. (Techus erased Danny from the internet as a prank once and forgot to undo it.)

That led to Jason and Tim entering Phantom Bakes, acting like street kids who ran away from a homophobic father looking for a job.

Danny had them decorate cupcakes within the hour, letting them know he didn't expect them to crunch out masterpieces. They knew it would be a while to see Danny's real business so they bite thier tongues and got to work.

Tim just hopes they finish this mission before Jason snaps and shoots their main suspect....or before Danny romances the entire of Gotham because, goddammit, he has as much game as Brucie pretends to have. It's getting frustrating to see so many people throwing themselves at him, only for Danny to pretend not to notice. His good looks, charming personality, and carefully manipulated cover, drag good people into his schemes. He didn't want another Harley Quinn.

(He will ignore that his heart skips a beat whenever Danny gets too close. Thank you very much. It's just a crush; people get those all the time.)

Danny teaches an Astronomy & Alien Culture class in Gotham University. He knows far more about said cultures than the average professor should know. Almost as if he has first hand experiences on the planets he talks about.

Tim was four days into a sleep deficit so he felt that to say that this predicament was his fault was a bit of a reach.

For it to be his fault he would have had to cognizant of the last 16 hours.

All he wanted to do was take a power nap in the nearest closest durring the Waynetech gala but nooo Bruce had to be taken hostage by the Joker.

So he did what he thought would work best and shoved uncle Clark into the nearest emergency bat storage and told him to suit up.

Maybe he looked a bit more confused than normal but they didn’t need a reporter they needed Batman!

That being said wasn’t uncle Clark supposed to be off-world?

Jack honestly had no clue what was happening for the last six months so when he was told to be Batman he merely just shrugged as the frankly exhausted teen left him to his own.

With his son turning out to be part ghost to the government hunting down his said son and having to move shop halfway across the continent.

This might as well happen.

Grinning like a kid on Christmas, Jack plopped on the finishing touch.

“Oh Danno is not going to believe this!”

Raising a cloaked arm with a flourish Jack struck a pose.

Shifting his feet, Jack took a deep breath before smoothing his face the best he could. After all, couldn’t have a smiling Batman! Before walking out the room and taking running leap through the wall to the streets of Gotham before grappling to the nearest building.

Alright so, Let's lay out what I want to accomplish here. Maybe bulleting out major prologue moments will help.

Amity Park is a part of ______ Earth of the DCU. Activation of the Portal disconnected Everything within roughly a reasonable, but large number of miles out from the Portal itself. Both Elmerton and Amity were effected.

Major attacks that would have been noticed even with the Time delay were during major crisis events.

Danny experienced several weeks of paranoia the JLA was finally going to come to Amity Park after Technus took over the satellite, until Tucker helped him digitally backtrack its path and found it had been on the other side of the globe at the time.

Danny first meets Connor during Reality Trip. Between Florida and Gothapalooza Danny gets separated from Tucker and Sam. Danielle/Elle dragged him along to help.

"That's your dad!? He's like ten!" "I'm almost fifteen thanks and that's older than you!"

Connor thinks Danny and his friends are absolutely insane, but they also started parenting in his direction?

Sam is the one who talks to Connor about his flirting with older women (and women in general) and Connor learns he's actually uncomfortable with the way people talk about him sometimes.

"That's what that is?!" "Connor. Where does this Rex live? I just want to talk." "Danny No."

Elle is too excited about finding Connor and bonding over being clones, and is not subtle about it. Kon being so casual about it helps Elle come to terms with it much quicker herself, and it's not the coolest fucking thing.

"Danny?" "Y-yes Tucker?" "When were you planning on telling us Vlad was doing creepy cloning shit?!" "Uhhh..."

There's a lot of bonding by the time Reality Trip is over, there are only 5 people who remember it actually happened now. Connor now has a Dad, an Aunt, and an Uncle to go with the small ghost kid who adopted him as an Older Brother.

"Yeah, we're siblings by adoption now" *sniff* "They grow up so fast." "Danny stop being a dumbass" "Sam be nice to me, I'm developing empty nest syndrome as we speak."

Destabilized takes place a little differently as well. Connor is also falling apart, but not as badly as Elle.

Red Huntress Osiris Valerie is considered Mom by both clone children after this. Much to Phantom and Val's sputtered protests.

They come to an agreement on having a Permanent Truce and sharing custody. Val jokes about Child Support.

This is not Bad News, he fucking loves it. Danny tells his parents he's half ghost and a fucking Prince and wants to graduate early and do online classes, so he can also work on his duties to the Realms at the same time.

They work it out. Danny actually tests out enough when doing College Shit he doesn't have to take most basic courses and just has these credits.

Danny is confused how he's the most surprised person in the room about this. He did not expect it to go this well.

Vlad has been weirdly quiet.

There are a LOT of things Danny is able to do to help the Realms heal without being King. This is great! Sure he can't do official things like Declare War, or say, Deal with the Ancients Damned G.I.W but he CAN convince most of the rowdier inhabitants to stay in the Realms or within Amity Park.

This is Great. He's going to get a Good Grade in being Ghost Prince. Which is something you can achieve and perfectly normal to want.

The Box Ghost steals Pandora's Box.

Pros: Danny now has a giant six-armed Ancient, who's decided he's adorable and is going to learn combat and military tactics.

He now has a Ghost Mom.

Pandora and Maddie gang up on him if he skips meals or sleeping for any reason. They are a terrifying combination.

Jack, Technus, and Skulker are not allowed to be left unsupervised. (Tucker and Sam do not count as Supervision because Sam will test the contraption and Tucker will yell "Do a flip." right before disaster.)

Vlad is not found in Amity or Wisconsin.

Danny has his 16th Birthday/2nd Deathday.

The two almost cancel each other out, meaning Danny is stuck with severe Chest Pain for most of the day, but he doesn't relive the accident, and he counts that as a win.

It's still a gr8 day. The cake doesn't even come to life. (or the rest of the food, thank you Lunch Lady)

Danny wakes up sore the next day and finds his parents dead in the kitchen.

Vlad is still missing.

The investigation finds it was a normal murder. Someone shot both Jack and Maddie Fenton six hours before Danny woke that morning.

Their names are not found recorded in the Archives.

Danny and Jazz are slightly comforted that they didn't seem to have suffered, at least.

Jazz finds a journal in their mother's things. Their Original Birth Certificates are found in it and a photo of their parents, and an oddly familiar person that isn't Vlad, stapled to genetic test results.

Danny learns he's only half siblings with Jazz.

Wilder, the journal, lists the only possible person who could be Danny's biological match is the other man in the picture.

Vlad is still out there somewhere.

Tucker manages to drag Danny out of his Funk by breaking the tense quiet with; "Damn dude, you have, like, another half sibling and like six others adopted. We're lucky you haven't found more clones." "Ancients, is Empty Nest genetic?" "Excuse me! Elle found Connor and brought him home."

Danny fails to avoid thinking about the four others that he couldn't save before they melted into puddles.

He does manage to avoid thinking about just how many others before that there may have been.

An attempt is made on Danny's life.

Four Times.

The fifth nicks his core.

Danny doesn't make it home before he's attacked again.

Vlad finally shows his face.

Stalemate.

Vlad is his usual condescending self. Something Is Wrong. He's not gloating or going into a monologue.

Danny retreats and makes it in time for Jazz to activate the halfa proofed shield, but not before he feels something latch onto his back, between his shoulder blades.

The compact Plasmius Maximus activates. Danny is forced human.

Danny stopped physically aging when he died in the portal, so after a few years he left to live in the ghost zone.

He still kept in contact with his friends, but they were busy with school and making new friends.

He wasn’t jealous. Really.

When he was sixteen though, he met the ghost of the second Robin—Jason, Danny later found his name to be—and they hit it off almost immediately.

Like calls to like, opposites attract, call it what you will, but they were inseparable.

Until Jay disappeared one day.

Fast forward six or so years.

By now, Danny’d learned to shapeshift his body into anything he wanted, his true age included. It was really draining, but seeing the living world was worth it.

He was currently wondering around Gotham, he’d come to visit Sam but she’d been in class at Gotham U at the time, so he decided to take a walk through the mall.

Where he felt a familiar presence in a small group of what looked to be either friends or family.

He had to stop himself from openly staring at them in his confusion.

Now, he had never forgotten Jason, but his ghostly friend had slipped to the back of his mind over the years.

But that feeling was definitely Jay’s core. He’d remember it anywhere.

That was Jason. A very not dead Jason.

From that revelation onwards, it was a blur of emotions and muffled shouts as he barreled into his old friend, letting trills of happiness from his core.

Jason had been dragged to the mall for one of Dick’s “sibling bonding experiences (no Bruce allowed)” attempts, and had been having an admittedly ok time, between Damian and Tim’s half joking threats to each other and Cass and Dick’s teasing.

They were being careful of him, like usual, so he wasn’t pushed too hard to participate in their little activities.

The pit had been easier to push down recently, but he’d rather them keep the distance from him just in case.

By the time they sat down in the food court, he’d made a plan to help demon brat shut down Pet Smart as a whole, agreed to wear ballet slippers and attempt to dance in them for Cass, snitched to Alfred about Tim’s caffeine intake for the day, and all around tormented Dick.

So today was going pretty ok.

And then he nearly got knocked out of his chair by a scrawny kid with way too much strength.

The feeling of the pit that had been simmering under the surface all day practically exploded outwards at the unknown touch that did not feel like a kid despite appearances, and he could tell his siblings could notice because Dick was instantly on his feet and by his side.

But…the rage never came.

Instead, he felt a bubbling joy wash over him every time the kid hugging him made that weird noise.

Or: Danny, forever stuck in his fourteen year old body, was friends with Jason in the afterlife before he was resurrected. Years later, he finds a very much living Jason in Gotham mall, and in his excitement, tackles him. Losing his concentration on his adult form in the process. Jason doesn’t know who this kid is, but he’s definitely got questions.
