[三] "Let's just break up; you were just a bet."
You've never felt this way before; all those two years you've spent loving your now ex were for nothing but to be blinded by a whole net of lies that you sadly sensed.
Back to January 2023, you've met Sungchan at a party due to the infamous game "Seven Minutes in Heaven," where you two obviously kissed after some conversation in the bathroom. You spent all the party with him and realized you had a lot of things in common. You were inexperienced, and Sungchan was willing to take it slow with you, which he did for a whole year of your relationship. Kisses, make-out session, some touches, until he has sex with you.
After that, you've met a whole new version of the boy—a darker one.
In February 2024, you found yourself caught in a whirlwind of emotions, trying to decipher what had changed in Sungchan. At first, you brushed it off, thinking maybe it was just a phase or stress from school. But as time passed, the darkness seemed to consume him more and more.
His once gentle touches turned forceful, and his loving words were replaced with harsh criticism. You tried to reason with yourself, convincing yourself that maybe you were overreacting or misinterpreting his actions. After all, you loved him, right? You didn't want to believe that the person you had spent so much time loving could be capable of hurting you like this.
But the signs were there, becoming harder to ignore with each passing day. The different perfumes you smell when you hug him, make-up that wasn't yours in his place or car—even the stories were getting faker every time.
Even after all that, you couldn't let go of him. Because who will love you the same way he did? You had your insecurities, growing each time Sungchan pointed at something he knew that you were insecure about, and later combining them to say, "You can't take a joke."
You found yourself tiptoeing around him, afraid to say or do anything that might set him off. Your friends began to notice the change in your demeanor, expressing concern over the bruises that seemed to appear out of nowhere, especially Jungwon.
Yang Jungwon had feelings for you—feelings that were hidden from you. He was tired to see you cry for someone who wasn't even worth it to touch your lips or receive your kind words of support, but what he must hate the most is the fact that Sungchan made you look like yourself from his point of view, making you feel worthless. Unlike his, Jungwon saw you as an angel, his beautiful angel who deserved all the love and support from earth without a single blue day. That's what he wanted, and that's how much he deeply loved you.
The school day ended. You looked for Sungchan until you saw him in his locker. You went there and gave him a smile, which he didn't return like usual.
As you approached Sungchan at his locker, his expression was unreadable, his eyes devoid of the warmth they once held for you. You tried to muster up a smile, hoping to break through the cold barrier he seemed to have erected around himself.
"Hey, Sungchan," you greeted him, your voice laced with a touch of uncertainty.
Sungchan barely spared you a glance as he continued rummaging through his locker. "What do you want?" His tone was sharp, cutting through the air like a knife.
You swallowed hard, trying to ignore the sinking feeling in your chest. "I just wanted to talk," you said softly, reaching out to touch his arm gently.
He jerked away from your touch as if your fingers were coated in poison. "I don't have time for this," he snapped, finally turning to face you with a cold glare.
You felt a knot form in your stomach, the familiar pang of hurt and confusion washing over you. "Sungchan, please," you pleaded, your voice barely above a whisper. "What's going on? Why are you acting like this?"
He let out a scoff, his lips twisting into a cruel smirk. "Do you really not know?" he mocked, his voice dripping with disdain. "Or are you just that naive?"
Your heart sank as his words hit you like a ton of bricks. "What are you talking about?" you asked, your voice trembling slightly.
Sungchan's smirk widened into a smirk that sent shivers down your spine. "Let's just break up," he said casually, as if he were discussing the weather. "You were just a bet, anyway."
The words hung in the air like a heavy fog, suffocating you with their cruelty. You felt as if you had been punched in the gut, the pain radiating through every fiber of your being. Tears welled up in your eyes as you struggled to process his words. Students that were in the halls saw you both and decided to stay for a closer look, but you just felt so bad that you didn't even have the voice to make them look away.
"I… I don't understand," you choked out, your voice breaking with emotion.
Sungchan's expression remained indifferent, unaffected by your distress. "There's nothing to understand," he replied coldly. "You were a game, a challenge. It was a difficult one, I must say. I just needed to sleep with you, and you just couldn't. And now that it's over, I have no use for you anymore. And I partially appreciate it; I can definitely leave you with seeing your belly jumping around instead of your tits. If I ever slept with you, I would have nightmares!"
The tears spilled over, cascading down your cheeks in hot streams as the weight of his betrayal crushed you. You stumbled back with your arms covering your body, feeling as if the ground had been ripped out from beneath your feet.
"You never… loved me?"
"Who in his right will love a loser like-"
You looked up to see Jungwon lunge forward, his fist connecting with Sungchan's jaw with a resounding thud.
Sungchan staggered back, caught off guard by the sudden attack. But instead of backing down, he returned the blow, his own fist colliding with Jungwon's cheek.
The hallway erupted into chaos as students gathered around, some cheering on the fight while others tried to break it up. But you remained frozen in place, the world spinning around you as the truth of Sungchan's betrayal sank in. A teacher broke the fight, and, since the school year has finally ended, you were sent home.
Whish led you to you being at Jungwon's home cleaning his wounds with all the supplies he had around the house. It is good to have parents who are doctors.
"Jungwon, don't do that again."
"I will if he talks to you like that again." He hissed when you put some cream into the open wound in his lower lip. What he said made you bite your own lower lip to contain the tears. You looked down to see a bandait, Jungwon's hand interrupting you from doing it to lock your eyes with him.
A tear fell down your eye, him cleaning it with his dumb and taking his time brushing tenderly your cheek.
"You can cry, you know."
"I can't; I need to take care of you." His other hand passed past your lower waist and made you comfortably sit in his lap. You slowly touched his shoulder.
"You can cry," and just like that, you did it. For him, it didn't matter the pain all over his body or the cuts he had; his number one priority would be your well-being, and comforting you at that time would make you feel at ease at the moment.
You buried your face into Jungwon's shoulder, letting the tears flow freely as he held you close, his arms providing a sense of security and warmth that you desperately needed in that moment. His soothing words and gentle caresses helped to ease the pain that threatened to consume you, and his presence was a comforting beacon of light in the midst of the darkness that had engulfed your world.
As the tears subsided and you finally lifted your head, you found yourself lost in Jungwon's gaze, the depth of his eyes reflecting an endless reservoir of love and compassion. In that moment, you realized just how much he cared for you and how deeply he had been affected by seeing you hurt.
"Thank you," you whispered softly, your voice barely above a breath.
Jungwon smiled tenderly, brushing a stray tear from your cheek with his thumb. "You don't have to thank me," he murmured, his voice filled with sincerity. "I'll always be here for you, no matter what."
His words washed over you like a gentle wave, soothing your wounded heart and filling you with a sense of hope that you thought had been lost. In Jungwon's embrace, you found solace and strength—a sanctuary from the storm that raged outside.
"I don't know what I would do without you," you admitted, your voice trembling slightly.
Jungwon's smile widened, his eyes sparkling with affection. "You'll never have to find out," he vowed, his voice unwavering in its conviction. "I'll always be by your side, through thick and thin. I love you."
The words hung in the air, wrapping around you like a warm embrace as you gazed into Jungwon's eyes, feeling the depth of his love wash over you like a gentle tide.
"You know I can't love you right now."
"I have waited three years; I think I can handle a few months."
"Why didn't you tell me? Why didn't you tell me that you liked me?"
"Because you liked Sungchan. I didn't want to take away your smile, even if you weren't smiling for me. But he fooled all of us, I've never felt so dumb. " He pulled out a string of hair behind your ear.
"This is how you planned to confess?" Jungwon looked around, and a smirk creeped on his face.
"No, it was more like this. Help me out." You stood up, and you helped him do the same. There was a record player in his room, and after a few seconds, a melody filled the room.
He extended his hand to you, taking it, and he once again pulled you close. Your ear is touching his chest, and you are listening to the accelerated beating of his heart.
"I want you to listen to my heart so you know I'm 100% truthful. I'll confess to you. Okay?"
"Jungwon, you can't dance. Come on, get some rest."
"Please, let me do it." You returned to your position, and you felt his chest go up as he deeply breathed in. He started to move slowly to the sound of "Can't Take My Eyes off You" by Engelbert Humperdinck, still embracing your figure so tight that you felt so loved.
"Every since I laid an eye on you, I just knew you were going to be a missing piece in my life. Your radiant smile and the way your eyes light up when you talk about the things you love instantly captivated me. It's like every moment spent with you is a treasure, and I find myself falling deeper and deeper in love with you." He took one of your hands, making you spin until your back touched his chest, his arms hugging you.
He gently put his chin on top of your head, and you closed your eyes, the emotions being too overwhelming.
"You bring so much joy and happiness into my world, and I can't imagine my life without you. You have this incredible ability to make even the simplest moments feel magical. Whether we're exploring new places together or simply sitting in silence, just knowing that you're by my side fills my heart with an overwhelming sense of contentment." Now his arms were placed on your shoulders, the tears falling down your eyes as you caressed his arms.
"I find myself constantly daydreaming about our future together. The adventures we'll embark on, the laughter we'll share, and the love we'll nurture. You're my best friend, my confidant, and the person who makes my heart skip a beat every time you walk into a room. It's like the world disappears when I'm with you, and all that matters is the connection we share." You turned around, facing him to reveal your wet cheeks, his lips trying to stop the other tears by kissing them. You cleaned your cheeks with the sweater you were wearing.
Once again, visual contact was made, and for the second time, Jungwon's hands stayed on your cheeks.
"But I also hate myself for not being brave enough to say how much I loved you before all of this happened. Because I know that if I had done it, all the tears you dropped for him due to the pain, the insecurities, the cheating, and many more things could've been prevented if I just did it. I'm so sorry." He now interlocked your fingers with his, a kiss being deposited in each of your hands, lifting your chin later since you looked at your shoes.
"Are you really serious?"
"I will never lie to you, especially with my feelings involved. You complete me in ways I never thought possible. I'm not going to force you to love me, and I'm going to work hard so that you forget him and heal of all the damage, because that's my priority now and should be yours too."
Tears continued to flow down your cheeks as Jungwon's heartfelt confession washed over you. His words resonated deep within your soul, stirring emotions you had long buried beneath the pain and betrayal of your past relationship. In that moment, you realized just how much Jungwon truly cared for you and how his love for you transcended any obstacle or hardship.
You reached up to cup his face in your hands, your thumbs gently wiping away the tears that stained his cheeks. "I don't know what to say," you whispered, your voice choked with emotion.
Jungwon's eyes shimmered with unshed tears as he gazed down at you, his expression filled with hope and longing. "You don't have to say anything," he murmured, his voice soft and tender. "Just know that I'll always be here for you, no matter what. And I'll wait for you for as long as it takes."
His words filled you with a sense of warmth and comfort, a feeling of security that you had never known before. In Jungwon's embrace, you found solace and strength—a guiding light to lead you out of the darkness that had consumed you for so long.
You leaned forward, pressing your lips against his in a gentle kiss filled with all the love and gratitude you held in your heart. It was a promise—a silent vow—to stand by each other's side through thick and thin, to weather the storms together, and to emerge stronger than ever before.
As you pulled away, a sense of peace washed over you, the weight of the past finally lifting from your shoulders. With Jungwon by your side, you knew that you could overcome anything that life threw your way. Together, you would heal the wounds of the past and build a future filled with love, laughter, and endless possibilities.
And as you nestled into Jungwon's embrace, the gentle rhythm of his heartbeat lulling you into a sense of serenity, you knew that you had finally found your home, your safe haven, in the arms of the one who loved you unconditionally.

jungwon x fem, 0.5k, est relationship fluff, pro tip : kissing your boyfriend is the best way to avoid weird seniors at your friends party
› cat boy collection
The night was electric, your friend’s birthday party was nothing short of over-the-top, just the way she liked it. The music thumped through the walls, vibrating the floor beneath your feet, and the flashing lights cast wild patterns across the room, making it hard to see anything clearly. You moved with your friends, bodies swaying to the beat, your laughter blending with theirs as you lost yourself in the rhythm. But every so often, your gaze drifted across the crowded room, searching for him.
There he was—Jungwon—leaning casually against the wall, his eyes catching yours through the shifting lights. A quiet smile played on his lips, and your heart skipped a beat. Even in the middle of the party’s madness, there was something comforting in his presence, like a calm anchor amidst the storm. Your friends twirled you back into the dance, but each glance you stole in his direction felt like a secret moment shared between just the two of you, even with the world spinning around you.
“I’m going to grab some water!” you shouted into your friend’s ear, hoping your voice would cut through the pounding music. She nodded, barely catching your words, as you gave her a quick smile and turned toward the kitchen.
As you weaved through the crowd, the flashing lights and bodies in motion made it hard to navigate. Just as you reached the hallway, a guy stepped in front of you, blocking your path. You recognized him—he was a senior, taller than you, with a casual smile that didn’t reach his eyes.
“Hey, I’ve seen you around,” he said, leaning in a little too close to be heard over the music. You glanced around, feeling a bit uneasy, but you forced a polite smile as you tried to step around him.
He shifted, blocking your path entirely, his body becoming a wall you couldn’t slip past. “I have a boyfriend,” you said firmly, hoping it would be enough to get him to move.
He chuckled, leaning in closer, his voice dripping with disbelief. “Don’t lie. No guy would leave you alone like this.”
Before you could respond, you spotted Jungwon making his way through the crowd, his brows furrowed in confusion as he looked between you and the guy. Relief flooded through you, and without hesitation, you reached out, grabbing Jungwon by the middle of his shirt. Pulling him close, you kissed him harshly, the suddenness of it catching him off guard. His arms instinctively wrapped around you, and the guy stepped back, his smug expression vanishing and himself not long after.
Jungwon kissed you back, his arms tightening around your waist, his warmth and the familiar feeling of his lips making everything else disappear.
When you finally pulled away, both of you breathless, his face was flushed a deep shade of red, his wide eyes looking at you in a mix of surprise and something else—something softer. He opened his mouth to say something, but only a quiet laugh escaped as he rubbed the back of his neck, clearly flustered.
“Uh… what just happened?” he asked, his voice slightly shaky but full of that gentle warmth you loved.
You smiled, still holding onto his shirt. “Some guy thought I was lying about having a boyfriend. So, I figured I’d prove him wrong.”
Jungwon glanced at the guy, who was now awkwardly standing a few feet away, looking uncomfortable. Jungwon’s expression softened as he turned back to you. “Guess that did the trick.”
You giggled, feeling the tension dissolve. “Yeah, I’d say it worked.”
Jungwon leaned in, resting his forehead against yours. “Good,” he whispered. “But next time, maybe I’ll get to kiss you without an audience.”
