First time doing a Request I‘m kinda nervous but could (you don’t have to) write 8th member x Jungwon. Like the Reader was recently added to this Group and has to learn all the hard Dances and Jungwon is very strict/mean to the reader because they have a tight schedule and he really pushes the reader to it’s limits. He criticized reader a lot like talking bad about the vocals, stage present, visuals (face, figure), dancing skills etc ans the one day the reader breaks down in front of him while he was being harsh again and he‘s then like:“ Oh sorry let me make this up to you“ and since then the reader is Jungwon favorite
You are another me, I am another you (I-LAND - Into the I-LAND) Let’s just run for our lives

ᨓ 。idol!yang jungwon x idol!fem reader ꒰📲꒱﹕slight angst to fluff ﹕+2.0k contains: crying, mean jungwon at first, mean knetz comments (what's new), smau part, let me know if I missed one ┈─★

The sound of the studio door closing behind you felt heavier today. Your muscles were sore from all the extra practice, your mind was overwhelmed from memorizing every sharp move, and worst of all, Jungwon’s constant criticisms echoed in your head. Being the only female in ENHYPEN, you knew expectations would be high, but this? This was brutal.
Every mistake was met with a sharp comment, a sigh of frustration from the leader, and you found yourself questioning whether you were cut out for this. Jungwon wasn’t cruel, but he was relentless. His words stung, always pointed out how you weren’t fast enough, sharp enough, perfect enough.
“Again,” he said for what felt like the hundredth time, his voice clipped as he wiped the sweat from his forehead. The others stood nearby, equally tired, but their eyes shifted toward you as if waiting for you to crack. You could feel their silent support, but it wasn’t enough to drown out the pressure.
Seven months after ENHYPEN’s debut, the world of K-pop had been shaken by the news of your sudden addition to the group. Right before the highly anticipated release of their Japanese album, Hakanai, the company had announced the unexpected eighth member—you.
The reaction had been explosive. Some fans were outraged. Comments flooded social media, criticizing the decision to add a girl to a group that had already worked so hard to build their identity.
"She didn't train as long as the boys." "Why now?" "This is unfair to them."
You read every post, every angry tweet, feeling the weight of their disappointment. It made your shoulders slump under the burden of being an outsider.
But there were others—fans who were intrigued by the fresh dynamic you could bring.
"This is something new!" "Finally, a group that challenges the norms!" "I can’t wait to see what she adds to ENHYPEN!"
They cheered for you, hopeful that your presence would bring something extraordinary.
You haven't debuted yet, pictures of your past resurfacing and preople trying to find any evidence that you did something (which you didn't) and still, all their eyes were all on you. Every move you made, every mistake, was scrutinized not just by the fans, but by your members—especially Jungwon. The pressure to fit in with them, to match their energy, was like a constant weight pressing down on you, making it harder to breathe.
You couldn’t help but wonder if Jungwon resented you. He had been carrying the weight of being the leader since debut, and now, the company had thrown you into the mix right before the release of such an important album. His leadership was already under immense pressure, and your arrival had just added more to his plate.
“You’re falling behind again,” Jungwon's voice cut through your thoughts, stern and unforgiving. He stepped closer, his eyes scanning your form, taking in your trembling muscles and shaky stance. "If you can't keep up, how do you expect to perform when we debut in Japan?"
His words were like ice, freezing you in place. You wanted to explain, to tell him how hard you were trying, but your throat was tight with unshed frustration. The others were watching, and you hated that you were the center of this uncomfortable attention again.
You swallowed hard, wiping the sweat from your forehead, but kept going. Each move was drilled into you at this point, yet you still fumbled, the exhaustion taking over your body. You tried to push through, only for Jungwon to stop the music abruptly.
“I don’t get it,” he muttered, pacing in front of you, his arms crossed. “How are you still this off? It’s like you’re not even trying.”
Your heart sank. You were trying—more than you’d ever tried before. “I’m doing my best,” you mumbled, barely able to look him in the eye.
“Your best?” He scoffed, his words like a slap in the face. “This isn’t even close. You’re dragging us down. I thought your vocals would at least make up for the dancing, but even those need work. And your stage presence? Nonexistent. You can’t just look good. You need to act the part, too.”
It felt like a punch to the gut. He wasn’t just critiquing your dancing now—he was hitting everything. Your voice, your looks, your confidence. You felt your throat tighten, but no matter how hard you tried to hold it back, the frustration was boiling over. “I’m trying,” you repeated, your voice tight, but Jungwon didn’t seem to care.
“You say you’re trying, but I don’t see it. Do you even care about this?” He gestured wildly, as if you had already given up. “We’re on a tight schedule and you—”
“Stop,” you whispered, your voice cracking as you interrupted him.
He froze, turning toward you. “What did you say?”
“I said stop!” you shot back, louder this time, feeling the lump in your throat rising again. “I can’t—” You wiped your eyes hastily, trying to catch your breath. “I’m trying so hard, Jungwon. Every day. I know I’m not as good as the rest of you, but you don’t have to tear me apart like this. I can’t take it anymore.”
The silence that followed was suffocating. Jungwon stared at you, wide-eyed, as if he hadn’t expected you to push back. You could see the realization dawning on him, but it wasn’t enough to stop the flood of emotions surging within you. You couldn’t hold it back any longer.
“I know I’m not perfect, okay?” Your voice cracked, your hands trembling at your sides. “I know and you can bet your fucking life I know the hell you went through on I-LAND. But I’m trying. You think I don’t hear what people say? About how I don’t belong here? How I’m only here because I’m a girl and because I was added after the survival show?”
Your voice rose as you continued, your anger and hurt spilling over. “And you—you’re just confirming all of it! Every time you criticize me, every time you look at me like I’m not good enough, you’re proving them right. You’re supposed to be my leader, but instead, you make me feel like I don’t even deserve to be here!”
Jungwon opened his mouth as if to speak, but you weren’t finished.
“I know I have to work harder than the rest of you. I know I have to prove myself every single day, and believe me, I’m doing it. But you—” You pointed at him, your chest heaving with the weight of your emotions. “You’re supposed to be my teammate. And all you do is push me down further. Do you even care about how much pressure I’m under?”
He flinched at that, his expression faltering for the first time. “I didn’t realize—”
“No, you didn’t,” you shot back, wiping at your eyes again, trying to keep your voice steady. “You’ve been so busy expecting me to be perfect that you forgot I’m human too.”
Jungwon’s shoulders slumped, his arms dropping to his sides. “I thought I was pushing you to be better,” he said, his voice quieter now. “But I didn’t realize how much I was hurting you.”
You let out a bitter laugh, the anger still simmering. “Hurting me? Jungwon, you broke me. Every time I walk into this studio, I’m terrified I’ll disappoint you again. I’m scared of what you’ll say next. Do you know what that feels like?”
He looked down at the floor, guilt creeping into his features. “I didn’t… I didn’t know it was that bad,” he murmured. “I thought… I thought being hard on you would make you stronger. But I went too far. Way too far.”
"You think?" you said and you had enough, you went to your stuff, packing everything on your small bag and takign your bottle of water in the process.
"What are you doing?" Jungwon said seeing walking straight to the door, you didn't stopped your steps for a moment, still giving him your back.
"I love the members, but I swear that if my own fucking leader can't give me the strenght to keep going and not backlash that it's worst that all the knetz combined, I think it's better tot alk to the CEO about taking me off the team."
Jungwon's breath hitched at your words, his eyes widening in panic as he quickly crossed the room. He grabbed your wrist, halting you just as your hand reached for the door. "Wait!" His voice was urgent, almost desperate, but you didn’t turn around. "Please, just—just stop for a second."
You stayed still, the weight of the moment pressing down on both of you. His grip was gentle, but firm enough to prevent you from leaving. "Let me go, Jungwon," you said quietly, your voice barely above a whisper, but it carried all the exhaustion and hurt you’d been holding in.
"No. Please, don’t go. Don’t leave the group," he pleaded, stepping in front of you now, his eyes searching yours for any sign of forgiveness. "You’re right. I’ve been awful to you. I didn’t see it, but now I do. You have every right to hate me for how I’ve treated you."
The silence stretched between you as you stared at him, unsure whether you could believe his sudden change. His usual authoritative demeanor was gone, replaced with something raw and vulnerable.
"I know you’ve been working hard," he continued, his voice softer now. "And I see how much pressure you're under. I thought pushing you like this would help you rise to the occasion, but... I was wrong. I was being a terrible leader."
You didn’t respond, just watching him carefully, your emotions still too heavy to process his words fully.
"I don’t want you to leave. You belong here. I know I haven’t made you feel that way, but you do." Jungwon’s voice wavered as he spoke, his eyes never leaving yours. "I’m sorry. I’m so, so sorry. I’ll make it up to you. Please just give me a chance."
"You're just saying this because you don't want me to tell the media about this." You let out a shaky breath, your frustration and anger still bubbling beneath the surface
"No! You're so wrong about it!" Something in his expression made you pause. It wasn’t just guilt—it was regret, genuine and painful. You could tell he meant it. But could you just forgive him that easily? "I swear to God that I don't know what the hell I was thinking, everybody got in my head because nobody believed in me that I can ahndle a girl in the group. They still even think that I can't lead the rest of the guys because I'm young and "stupid in so many ways". All of it pilled up."
You heard Jungwon’s voice crack, and for the first time, you saw the real weight of his responsibilities. His eyes were glistening with unshed tears, and you couldn’t help but be taken aback. You had always seen him as this strong, almost unyielding figure, but now, his vulnerability was laid bare.
“I didn’t think… I didn’t realize how hard it was for you too,” you admitted softly, your own anger and frustration melting away as you saw the sincerity in his eyes. “I thought you were just being mean because you wanted to push me. I didn’t know you were struggling with all of this.”
Jungwon took a deep breath, trying to steady his emotions. “I’ve been trying to prove everyone wrong,” he confessed, his voice trembling. “They doubted me from the beginning because of my age. They said I wasn’t capable of leading a group like ENHYPEN. And… I guess I took all that pressure and fear and channeled it into being hard on you. I thought if I could push you to be perfect, it would prove that I could handle this, that I could lead effectively.”
He rubbed at his eyes, as if trying to clear the tears before they fell. “But I was wrong. I forgot that it’s not just about pushing people to be their best. It’s about supporting them, too. I thought if I could be tough enough, I’d be a good leader. But instead, I just made things worse.”
You felt a pang of sympathy, realizing how young and inexperienced he was despite his leadership role. You had been focusing so much on how his criticism affected you that you hadn’t considered the immense pressure he was under. “Jungwon… you’re doing your best, too. And I’m sorry if I added to your stress., but what you did to me was hurtful”
Jungwon’s face softened, the tightness around his eyes easing as he listened to you. He took a step closer, his voice earnest and full of regret. “I know what I did was wrong. I shouldn’t have let my own fears and insecurities turn into harsh criticism. I see that now. And I’m really, truly sorry.”
You took a deep breath, the weight of the confrontation starting to lift, though the sting of his previous words still lingered. “I appreciate you saying that, Jungwon. It’s just hard to hear all that negativity when you’re already struggling so much. I want to do well, I really do. But I need support, not just criticism.”
He nodded, his gaze sincere. “I understand. And I want to be that support for you now. I don’t want to be the reason you feel like you don’t belong here. You’re part of this team, and you’re important. I was wrong to make you feel otherwise.”
The air between you felt a bit lighter, though there was still an underlying tension. Jungwon took a step back and rubbed his face, trying to regain his composure. “I know saying sorry doesn’t undo the damage. But I want to make it up to you. Maybe we can start fresh. Let me know what you need from me, and I’ll do my best to provide it.”
You looked at him, weighing his words. It was a lot to process, and while his apology felt genuine, it would take time to rebuild the trust that had been shaken. “Alright,” you said finally, your voice softer but still tinged with caution. “But it’s going to take more than just saying sorry. I need to see changes. I need to feel like you’re actually supporting me, not just pushing me to meet some impossible standard.”
“Of course,” Jungwon agreed immediately, his tone earnest. “I’ll do whatever it takes. I’ll start by being more constructive with my feedback. I want to help you improve, not just criticize you. And if you ever feel like I’m slipping back into old habits, please let me know. I want to be better—for you and for the team.”
You nodded, feeling a small sense of relief. “Thank you, Jungwon. I appreciate that.”
He gave you a small, encouraging smile. “Let’s take this one step at a time. We’ll get through this together, okay?”
“Okay,” you agreed, a faint smile forming on your lips. It wasn’t a complete resolution, but it was a start. And for now, that was enough.
Jungwon let out a deep breath and took a step back, giving you some space. “How about we start with something easier today? Maybe we can work on something you’re more comfortable with first. I want to help build your confidence again.”
You nodded, grateful for the chance to ease back into practice. “Sounds good. Let’s do that.”
Since that november of 2020 until 2024, things changed between you two. True to his word, Jungwon was patient, taking time to guide you through the toughest routines, explaining the nuances of the choreography in ways that made sense. And when your vocals wavered, he didn’t tear you down but offered encouragement, helping you find your confidence again.
The other members noticed the shift too—Jungwon had become protective of you, always watching out for you during practice, checking in with you more often. There was a bond forming between you two, one built on understanding and trust.
As the days turned into weeks, the dynamics in the practice studio began to shift. Jungwon’s newfound approach to leadership was evident. His once harsh criticisms had turned into constructive feedback, and the atmosphere in the studio had lightened considerably.
During one of your practice sessions, Jungwon approached you with a more relaxed demeanor. “Hey, I was thinking,” he started, his tone casual but genuine. “How about we work on that dance you were struggling with earlier? I remember you said it was one of your favorites.”
You looked up from where you were stretching, surprised by the change in his approach. “Really? You want to help me with that one?”
“Yeah,” he said, nodding. “I know you’ve been working hard on it, and I thought it might help to go over it together. Maybe there’s something specific you’re having trouble with, and we can figure it out.”
You smiled, feeling a sense of relief and gratitude. “That would be great. Thanks, Jungwon.”
As you worked through the dance, Jungwon’s guidance was patient and encouraging. He provided tips and corrections, but always with a supportive tone. When you finally nailed a particularly challenging move, he clapped enthusiastically. “That’s it! Great job. You’ve really improved.”
The change in his demeanor was noticeable to everyone in the group. The members began to comment on how much better the atmosphere was during practice. Sunghoon even joked, “Looks like you’ve become Jungwon’s favorite. I’ve never seen him this invested in anyone before.”
Jungwon laughed, rolling his eyes. “Oh, come on. It’s not favoritism. It’s just that she’s been working really hard and deserves the support.”
One evening after practice, the members were hanging out in the common area of the dorm. You were sitting with Jungwon, discussing a new dance routine, when Sunoo walked over with a playful grin. “So, what’s the secret? You’ve been extra nice to our new member. Is there something we should know?”
Jungwon’s face flushed slightly. “It’s nothing like that. I just realized how important it is to support each other. It’s not about being the best or pushing people to their limits. It’s about helping each other grow.”
The members nodded in agreement, their faces reflecting understanding and approval. “Well, we’re glad to see you’re finally taking that approach,” Sunoo said. “It’s made a huge difference.”
You felt a warm glow of appreciation from the members. The tension that had once hung over you like a cloud was now replaced with a sense of camaraderie and support.
In the weeks that followed, you and Jungwon developed a strong friendship. He continued to be a supportive leader, and your bond grew stronger. You shared laughs, inside jokes, and moments of genuine connection. The members noticed the change and couldn’t deny that your improved relationship with Jungwon had brought a positive shift to the group dynamics.
You became close friends who understood each other’s struggles and triumphs. His initial harshness was now a distant memory, replaced by a supportive and encouraging presence that helped you flourish both as an artist and as an individual.
In interviews and behind-the-scenes footage, the chemistry between you and Jungwon was evident. The way he looked at you, cheered you on, and even went out of his way to ensure you were comfortable and confident spoke volumes. The once-critical leader had become one of your biggest supporters, and the bond between you was a testament to the power of understanding, growth, and mutual respect.
And as for Jungwon, he learned that leadership wasn’t just about pushing others to excel—it was about guiding them with empathy and support. The journey had its challenges, but it ultimately forged a strong friendship and a deeper connection within ENHYPEN, making the team not just a group of talented individuals but a true family.

[SUNGHOON'S LIVE]
Sunghoon was sprawled out on his bed, lazily scrolling through the endless stream of comments as his live reached the twenty-minute mark. The glow from his phone screen cast soft shadows on his face, his smile easy and relaxed. This had become routine for him—answering questions, laughing at inside jokes, and throwing out casual responses to the flood of hearts and emojis that filled the chat.
Everything was smooth, just another night hanging out with his fans, until one particular comment caught his eye.
"In two days, it’s Y/N’s birthday," it read, almost buried under waves of excitement from his followers.
He smirked, leaning in closer, his voice dropping just a bit. "Yeah... it is," he said, his tone teasing but affectionate, a glint of mischief in his eyes. "Actually, Jungwon's planning a surprise party right after the live stream—"
He paused, eyes darting back to the flood of comments. His smirk faltered. Wait. His mind spun as he watched the chat explode into shock and confusion. Oh no.
"Wait—what did I just...?" He stared wide-eyed at his phone, realization hitting like a freight train.
And just like that, the door to his room swung open with a bang. There you were, breathless, your face with a face mask one without hidding your happy face. “Sunghoon! What did you just say?!"
He froze, cheeks flushing crimson as the full weight of his mistake settled in. He had ruined the surprise.

[SUNOO'S IS LIVE]
Sunoo sat cross-legged in his room, the soft golden glow of fairy lights behind him adding to the cozy aesthetic of his live. His signature bright smile lit up the screen as he skimmed through the comments, casually chatting with fans. It was a typical Sunoo moment—full of laughter, a little teasing, and that effortless charm.
He paused, squinting slightly at a comment that caught his attention. His expression softened, a fond smile creeping onto his lips.
“‘Who's the best at taking care of everyone?’” Sunoo read aloud, repeating the question from the chat. His head tilted, as if he was thinking, but really, he already knew the answer. "Oh, that’s easy."
He glanced up at the screen, eyes twinkling. “It’s Jungwon, no question. He’s always making sure we’re okay, but mostly—” Sunoo stopped and grinned wider, that teasing glint appearing in his eyes. “Mostly Y/N. It’s kind of cute how much he fusses over them.”
The chat exploded with excitement, heart emojis and playful reactions flooding in.
“I mean, you guys don’t even know,” Sunoo continued, a little laugh slipping out. “He’s always asking if Y/N’s eaten, making sure they have a jacket when it’s cold, even if he doesn’t have one for himself.” His voice softened, genuine warmth lacing his words. “He just really cares, you know?”
Sunoo’s smile turned into a full-on smirk as he leaned in closer to the screen, whispering like it was a secret between him and his viewers. “Honestly, sometimes I think he forgets about the rest of us when Y/N’s around. It’s adorable, though, you should see it.”
The chat filled with comments about Jungwon and Y/N, and Sunoo laughed, clapping his hands together. “But really, we’re all super lucky to have him. Y/N especially.”

[ENHYPEN'S SEND-OFF]
The energy outside the concert venue was electric, buzzing with post-show adrenaline as fans lined up for their brief but cherished moments with Enhypen during the send-off. Jake was at the front of the line, his eyes warm and his smile easy as he signed photocards, making small talk with each fan who came up.
As the next fan approached, clutching a photocard, Jake’s eyes crinkled in a smile. “Hey! Did you enjoy the show?” he asked, his voice still slightly hoarse from the performance but full of energy.
The fan nodded quickly, eyes wide with excitement, and then in a rush, asked, “Can we do a fast Q&A while you sign?”
Jake chuckled, leaning in closer to make sure he could hear. “Alright, rapid-fire. Let’s go!”
“Favorite song to perform live?”
Jake didn’t hesitate. “'Criminal Love,' for sure. The energy’s insane every time.”
The fan grinned, throwing out the next question. “Who’s the funniest member?”
“Sunghoon,” Jake replied instantly, laughing at the thought. “His jokes are underrated.”
The fan’s excitement grew, and the next question came even faster. “Who takes the longest to get ready?”
Jake pretended to think hard. “Hmm, probably Sunoo. He likes everything to be perfect.”
They both laughed, and as Jake finished signing the photocard, the fan asked the final question: “Last one! Who would sacrifice their life for another member?”
Jake froze for just a second, the question taking him off guard, but his smile returned quickly. His gaze softened as he thought about it, then he gave a small, knowing smirk. “Jungwon,” he said, his tone more serious but full of pride. “He’d sacrifice himself for all of us… especially for Y/N.”
The fan blinked, processing his words, and Jake’s smirk turned into a soft laugh, his eyes glinting mischievously. “Yeah,” he added, handing back the signed photocard. “Jungwon’s that kind of leader.”
The fan’s eyes widened, and as they stepped away, the buzz from Jake’s answer lingered in the air, fueling the excitement of the send-off as the line moved forward.

[ENHYPEN'S FANSIGN]
Jungwon’s smile remained warm and genuine as he greeted each fan. When the next fan stepped up, holding out their album for him to sign, they hesitated for just a moment before speaking.
“Jungwon, can I ask you something?” they asked, their voice a mix of nerves and excitement.
Jungwon looked up from signing, his expression soft and encouraging. “Of course! What’s up?”
The fan bit their lip, clearly a little shy, but finally asked, “Is it true that Y/N is your favorite? I mean... people always say you take care of her more than the others.”
Jungwon paused for a moment, his smile deepening into something more thoughtful. He glanced down at the album, chuckling softly. “Yeah, I hear that a lot,” he admitted, his voice light but sincere.
He looked up, meeting the fan’s eyes, and the warmth in his gaze was undeniable. “But honestly? Y/N is like the younger sister I never had,” he said softly, his tone full of affection. “I mean, I care about all the members, but with Y/N... I just feel this responsibility, you know?”
The fan nodded, hanging on his every word as Jungwon continued. “She’s always working so hard, but sometimes I feel like she doesn’t take care of herself as much as she should. So, I just—" He paused, his smile turning a bit sheepish. "I try to look out for her in ways that maybe she doesn’t even realize.”
The fan’s eyes softened, touched by his words, and Jungwon’s expression brightened a little more as he added, “It’s not about favoritism. It’s more like... wanting to make sure she’s okay, like any big brother would. I’d do the same for anyone I cared about, but with her, it’s different. She’s family, I hope ENGENE is not jelaous about her.”
He handed back the signed album, a warm smile still on his face. “I guess I’m just protective, but in the best way. I’m really lucky to have her around.”
The fan smiled back, touched by the sincerity in his voice. As they stepped away, they couldn’t help but feel the pure, wholesome bond that Jungwon shared with you—a kind of sibling-like love that went beyond just friendship.

jungwon x fem, 0.5k, est relationship fluff, pro tip : kissing your boyfriend is the best way to avoid weird seniors at your friends party
› cat boy collection
The night was electric, your friend’s birthday party was nothing short of over-the-top, just the way she liked it. The music thumped through the walls, vibrating the floor beneath your feet, and the flashing lights cast wild patterns across the room, making it hard to see anything clearly. You moved with your friends, bodies swaying to the beat, your laughter blending with theirs as you lost yourself in the rhythm. But every so often, your gaze drifted across the crowded room, searching for him.
There he was—Jungwon—leaning casually against the wall, his eyes catching yours through the shifting lights. A quiet smile played on his lips, and your heart skipped a beat. Even in the middle of the party’s madness, there was something comforting in his presence, like a calm anchor amidst the storm. Your friends twirled you back into the dance, but each glance you stole in his direction felt like a secret moment shared between just the two of you, even with the world spinning around you.
“I’m going to grab some water!” you shouted into your friend’s ear, hoping your voice would cut through the pounding music. She nodded, barely catching your words, as you gave her a quick smile and turned toward the kitchen.
As you weaved through the crowd, the flashing lights and bodies in motion made it hard to navigate. Just as you reached the hallway, a guy stepped in front of you, blocking your path. You recognized him—he was a senior, taller than you, with a casual smile that didn’t reach his eyes.
“Hey, I’ve seen you around,” he said, leaning in a little too close to be heard over the music. You glanced around, feeling a bit uneasy, but you forced a polite smile as you tried to step around him.
He shifted, blocking your path entirely, his body becoming a wall you couldn’t slip past. “I have a boyfriend,” you said firmly, hoping it would be enough to get him to move.
He chuckled, leaning in closer, his voice dripping with disbelief. “Don’t lie. No guy would leave you alone like this.”
Before you could respond, you spotted Jungwon making his way through the crowd, his brows furrowed in confusion as he looked between you and the guy. Relief flooded through you, and without hesitation, you reached out, grabbing Jungwon by the middle of his shirt. Pulling him close, you kissed him harshly, the suddenness of it catching him off guard. His arms instinctively wrapped around you, and the guy stepped back, his smug expression vanishing and himself not long after.
Jungwon kissed you back, his arms tightening around your waist, his warmth and the familiar feeling of his lips making everything else disappear.
When you finally pulled away, both of you breathless, his face was flushed a deep shade of red, his wide eyes looking at you in a mix of surprise and something else—something softer. He opened his mouth to say something, but only a quiet laugh escaped as he rubbed the back of his neck, clearly flustered.
“Uh… what just happened?” he asked, his voice slightly shaky but full of that gentle warmth you loved.
You smiled, still holding onto his shirt. “Some guy thought I was lying about having a boyfriend. So, I figured I’d prove him wrong.”
Jungwon glanced at the guy, who was now awkwardly standing a few feet away, looking uncomfortable. Jungwon’s expression softened as he turned back to you. “Guess that did the trick.”
You giggled, feeling the tension dissolve. “Yeah, I’d say it worked.”
Jungwon leaned in, resting his forehead against yours. “Good,” he whispered. “But next time, maybe I’ll get to kiss you without an audience.”

COLLEGE IS GOING TO BE AMAZING
That's what yn religously chanted to herself as she checked one more time in her bedroom for things she possibly needed in her bag.
Phone? She was holding it.
Charger? It was stuffed in the right pocket of her bag, concealed under the metal zipper.
Pencil case? She shook her bag hard until she heard the familiar keyring attached to the zipper, tingle in her ears. She definitely had it- but did she pack 2 pens? Did she even pack a pencil?
"Yn, are you going to stand there like a statue all day?" Her roommate asked from the hallway.
"Shut up, Yunjin, I'm just making sure I'm not forgetting anything!" Yn yells back as she walked to the full-length mirror, checking if her outfit was enough to stand out, but also to blend in. She figured the black cargo pants with the black cardigan was enough to match with her white top.
Tobe honest, it was a little more basic than she wanted it to be.
And the hair? It was a simple ponytail with her bangs covering just the right amount of forehead. If anything, yn despised the idea of her exposed forehead. The idea of bangs hid that insecurity under its wing.
"Yunjin, you sure you're not gonna come with me?"
The girl loudly scoffed from where she was, appearing leisurely at their bedroom door with her white pyjamas and bunny slippers. Yn cringed at her lack of effort for the first day of college.
Though, she realised quickly when she met Yunjin, that they were quite different; she and yn travelled at different wavelengths of light, but together, they made one beautiful colour.
"Uhm, you must be crazy if you think I'm going to go early. I could fit in another episode of that Inferno show."
"You and your shitty Netflix shows," Yn grumbled, poking her tongue out at her friend before she returned one to her. Though, as they passed by each other, they sent a small smile and yn patted her shoulder.
"I'll save you a seat. Just don't be late."
"You can count on it!"
. . .
She knew Yoreun University could be fancy, but seeing the shiny walls, tall windows, and drastic paintings made her eyes run to every corner.
Her reflection stared right back at her when she walked up to one of the glass windows; it was as if they installed new glass just before the new students came.
Roaming around her were bold students, all bustling with productivity to get to their first classes. She guessed they were older, and had climbed their way to being the seniors of the school. Yn would love to see if she had that motivation to climb to that stage.
Gripping on a single strap of her backpack, she quickly made her way to the hall for registration, and to find her own personal tutor.
Upon entering the hall, it was scarce with people, their figures stuck to nearby chairs and tables. As she stepped down, she took a breath, feeling some relief breathe into her blood.
The whole university routine was going quite smoothly. She hadn't landed herself in some kind of pit of embarrassment- which she was grateful for.
The seniors at the front caught her attention as they waved at her. A boy and a girl. Yn gave a small wave back and made her way to the table.
She took the time for her gaze to wander around the room to find a boy staring at her. He was stunning to say the least. Black hair with a the most prettiest, enchanting eyes.
Apprehension struck her chest, not knowing why she had stared down a boy on the first day. Though, she looked away, approaching the seniors as they welcomed her with cheery voices.
They gave her the timetable and login for the online website and there, she could find more lessons and events planned for the school year.
When she was done talking to the lovely seniors, the boy was gone like the wind. Yn shrugged, blaming herself when she kind of wanted to look at his appearance again.
Gosh, those pretty eyes, she thought.
In a second, she slapped her cheek lightly, scolding herself for lingering on a boy on the first day- heck, the first hour. She looked at her timetable.
"English Literature on the first day?" she muttered to herself. Ever since high school, Yunjin and her, adored literature; the flow of the words and the strokes of the idyllic sentences left both of them in awe, and wanting to get more of the deeper side of it.
Yunjin already spoke English so, choosing the subject was an obvious path she knew. But yn did not know that much English until she met her American friend. That's when she started her journey of becoming one of the best English speakers in her class along with Yunjin.
The classes felt like sticking her feet in quicksand and struggling to get them out to walk to your destination. Over time, she learned a lot of strategies to avoid the same mistakes- then, she was in the top 10.
And being able to take the class together in university was like a dream- a very splendid dream.
The English Literature classroom was already filled with a little amount of people scattered over the rows of navy seats and beige desks. The lecture hall stretched for ages.
It was incredible.
Overall, it was quiet and cosy so, she walked up the stairs, towards the back and let her hand randomly touch a seat.
Tilting her head, she found the seat suitable and sat down, putting her black bag on the next seat to save it for Yunjin. That is, if she came on time.
"Where the fvck is this girl?" she whispered to herself, swiping her fingers lightly through her bangs. She stared at the time on her phone.
9.30 am.
Class started at 10 am. To ease her boredom, she started to figure out the website and app for school, putting in her password and username until she finally completed everything. Yn hunched over her desk, grabbing one of her loose hairs and twirling it around her finger.
9.50 am.
There was still more time?
Yn internally groaned, sliding off the desk until she rested against the seat. The classroom had filled with more people- some foreign- as it become slightly louder as well.
"Might as well waste some time."
Yn stood, zipping her backpack and leaving it firmly on her place. She had to trust enough that no one would steal her bag and her very much designated spot.
Yn decided to go to the bathroom before the lecture trapped her in class.
Now that she walked down the halls, more people gathered- though she couldn't tell if they were new students or old ones. She shrugged and continued on.
Yn wasted her time in the shockingly beautiful bathrooms until she did her business. She made a mental note to come back with Yunjin for photos.
Lighting- immaculate.
Yn hurried herself out of the bathroom, taking out her phone to check the time. She almost gasped when it was 9.56, immediately going onto twitter and attempted to find out whether Yunjin actually made it to the saved seats.

She looked stupid standing at the bottom of the rows, staring attentively at the two boys that invaded her seat. She spotted her bag shoved to another seat next to them, the thought causing anxiety to creep into her system. It would have been okay if there was another seat next to her- but that was the thing.
The one seat they shoved her bag to, did not have a spare seat- in fact, another boy occupied it. His locks were strawberry blonde, ribbons of pink coloured into his strands, his skin clear of any acne, his eyes resembling an elegant fox, and his lips were covered with the utmost shine.
Bewildered, yn shook her head, not believing that she stared at someone's lips for that long.
Heading her attention to the invader boys, she tilted her head, scanning over one boy with straight, black locks, brown eyes resembling that of a cautious cat.
And then, it struck her.
That was the boy she saw when she was getting her login- the one with the pretty eyes. Although, she shivered at the coincidence: what was the chances that their roads intertwined in the same classroom.
The boy next to him looked a little nicer: he had shorter, black hair (maybe with an undercut) and had the sharpest jawline she had ever witnessed.
Her phone buzzed in her hands, but she paid no heed to it as she started to stride up the steps, getting closer to the pair that were peacefully conversing. If anything, her bag was in that seat first- a totally valid and logical response.
A small frown disgraced her face when she stood in front of the undercut dude, crossing her arms.
"Excuse me?" Yn spoke up. Both of them glanced, becoming silent.
"My bag was on that seat. I was saving it for someone as well."
They simply looked at each other when the cat boy sat up, a stern face gazing back at her.
"Okay. And?"
Yn's eyes widened in disbelief, uncrossing her arms. "And? Why did you move my bag? I was obviously going to sit there."
The cat boy rolled his eyes. "How was I supposed to know that? Does this seat have your name on it?"
The undercut boy widened his eyes as he leaned back, clearly giving space for the verbal battle to happen.
"It doesn't have my name on it, but it had my bag on it. Can't you just give it up, class is about to start in a few minutes."
"Exactly, it's a competition here. Even if it's for simple things, such as seats. So, just sit and get ready for class," the cat boy retorted, bringing out his laptop and opening it. Yn clenched her fists, frustration pinching her nerves.
"Okay, what the fvck, is he always this stubborn?" Yn directed her question to the undercut boy, whom was clearly enjoying the quarrel. He glanced and shrugged before giving a soft smile.
"Yeah, a little bit. Everything is a competition to him, so he might be a little stuck-up."
"Watch it, Jongseong," the cat boy muttered gloomily. Jongseong turned to him.
"Jeonseong hyung, you mean."
He faced back to her before offering a handshake. She stared and let her hands slip into his, shooking it. "I'm Park Jeonseong, but people call me Jay."
Yn smiled a little for the first time upon meeting them. "Nice to meet you. I'm Choi Yn. Who's your grumpy friend over there?"
The cat boy sent an abject glare before turning back to his computer, but Jay leaned back carelessly.
"His name is Yang Jungwon. My best friend for the last few years." he explained, patting his back. Jungwon didn't give a glance, focusing on his lit screen.
She ignored him and smiled back at Jay, before looking around the room to new students filling every row.
Every seat was occupied and the classroom was now flooded with people. There was no way to hunt down empty double seats, which made her more entangled in anxiety.
Looking back at Jay, she leaned down a little to maximise the volume of her voice.
"Are you really not moving?" she asked, despondent.
Jay clicked his tongue, resting both his hands behind his head as he gave a timid stare to Yn. She guessed he had gotten too comfortable to negotiate.
Unless the professor let her switch seats, there was no way to sit next to Yunjin. Anything to be away from the miserable cat sat next to Jay.
Before she could move over to her apparent place, a shake on her shoulders sent her out of her thoughts. Yanking her head around, she saw Yunjin with a raised eyebrow.
Her blonde hair was in a ponytail, a few strands left out in the front with an adorable clip on her strands as she dressed in a simple pink top and white skirt. She stood with hands on her hips, expectant of an answer.
"You can't sit next to me..." Yn said, presenting a guilty grin. Yunjin looked over her shoulder and then glanced back, confused.
"And you asked them?"
"What do you think I'm doing standing here?"
"Making friends?"
Yn screwed her face up in disgust at her uncanny answer.
"I mean, there is a free seat behind me? I can talk to the professor if we can get new seats." Yn suggested, trying to fuel hope into both of them. Yunjin was about to speak before a voice called out over the speakers, halting everyone in their actions.
A man stood on the stage, next to a desk as he beckoned everyone; a middle-aged man gazed over the audience, holding his blazer together. Yn gestured for Yunjin to take her seat before sending a sorry glance and sitting down herself.
Jungwon shifted over to the opposite side when yn sat down, bringing out her own laptop and setting herself up. They didn't say anything whilst the professor started introducing himself.
Whilst staring ahead, a soft nudge from her other side forced her to meet eyes with the other boy she had stared at. A smile graced his rosy lips as he held out his hand from underneath the table, fox eyes creasing in crescents.
"Hi, my name is Kim Sunoo. Nice to meet you, classmate."
Yn connected their hands as she gave a firm shake. "My name is Choi Yn. Nice to meet you as well."
He smiled before leaning in a little to keep their voices in a hush.
"What made you want to pick English Literature?" Sunoo asked, a friendly sparkle in his gaze. Yn shrugged, returning a courteous smile.
"I want to advance in the language more. Besides, I love reading books and interpreting them. I take psychology as well," Yn explained, bringing her laptop closer to her. Sunoo whipped his head around, jaw dropping from the information.
"Psychology? That's tough. Though, I can't say anything. I take Journalism." He chuckled a little. Yn was the one to widen her eyes. Journalism was definitely challenging with the amount of obstacles faced in the education and the career itself. She respected him for his path.
Besides, his sunflower personality highlighted his optimism.
"What about you? Do you need literature for journalism?"
"I want to go abroad at some point. I could have taken the language program, but I know that I don't want to be limited on current events. I want to go on to write about books and poems. I always loved those."
Yn could tell the passion for journalism growing in him, as if it was a delicate seed yet to hatch. She smiled and nodded.
"I feel like I made my life harder by taking psychology and literature together." Yn said, making Sunoo chuckle a little.
The conversation ended there as they both sat and listened to the lecturer.
The classes, Yn thought, was much smoothe than expected; however, the professor did not let her switch seats, wanting Yn to make "new friends".
And of course, she conversed a lot more to Jay than to Jungwon. But, the more they hung out together, the more Jay grew comfortable, making Jungwon have no choice but to get to know each other.
Yn and Yunjin found that Jay was also American and a previous university dropout. He had previously taken the path of forensic science, but after getting traumatised by the... gruesome side of it, he dropped it and took a gap year.
God knows why he came back to take English Literature.
And for Jungwon, he wore a grumpy, little frown and she could see his invisible cat ears terribly flap down upon his head.
Eventually, he spoke into conversations, voicing opinions and practicing his English- which Yn found that he was a speedy learner. Though, she had yet to see him smile around her.
All Yn could tell about him is that he locked a lot of emotions in him, and he was determined to keep it that way. He was also keen on proving his intelligence on her, wanting to beat her in any way.
She ignored it- tried to ignore it.
Though, Yn did feel a little bad for imprinting her first impression on him like that. The logical thing to do was to fix that dent that she had made in their first meeting.
However, the first time she saw him smile, it was peculiar.
Assignments were being given back along with feedback at the end of a long lecture. As soon as the lecturer announced the feedback, anticipation bubbling in her head.
Everyone had been staring at the professor for a few minutes as he walked around, passing them along the rows, apprehension fogging the atmosphere.
Her whole row practically drowned in silent when the papers were passed down. She gripped Jay and Jungwon's paper down, not bothering to look as she stared at her own paper.
She saw no score just yet, but she hoped it was enough to fuel her confidence in the subject.
Jungwon flipping over his paper knocked her out of her thoughts as she spotted his handwriting. It was a little bit messy in some places, smudged as if he was rushing his words towards the end.
Shaking her head, she took a deep breath before flipping her paper to the end, eyes fixed on the crimson writing stating her percentage.
The breath that she held in her chest finally released, her shoulders slumping as a small smile tugged at her lips.
"Yn, what did you get?" Yunjin asked from behind her. Swiftly turning to her, she couldn't help but smile, displaying the paper to her.
"79%!" she squealed. She knew it wasn't enough to get a grade A, but for the first assignment in the first few weeks, it was enough for her heart to swell.
Yunjin covered her mouth, smiling and squealing at an appropriate volume and gleed at her. "That's my girl!"
"What about you?"
Yunjin showed her paper, a 70% score written on. Yn gestured for a high-five, and once she gave it, she sat back down and turned to Jungwon.
His fingers gripped on the paper, scanning over the red writing that weighed whether he was worthy of even taking the class. She leaned over his shoulder a little, noticing how frozen he was whilst scanning his paper.
She raised her eyebrows, smiling a little at Jungwon, wanting to harmlessly poke at his ego a little.
"I guess I beat you by 17%, hm? Is your ego hurt?" she teased, leaning her chin onto her palm.
Jungwon gave a little glance at her paper, and then back to his. And somehow, he managed to frown deeper- but not from anger.
It was just sorrow.
Jungwon pulled his bag up, shoving his paper into his bag as he stood up and walked off, without Jay.
Yn watched him, guilt settling in as he strolled down the stairs.
Jay tilted his head and glanced over to Yn, whom stared at the brown desk.
Maybe that was shitty of her? But, he had always shown competitiveness when trying to shut her down with his "intelligent" talk. She just wanted a serve a taste of his own medicine.
Without waiting for Yunjin, she got up and shoved her contents into her backpack and raced after him.
She bumped into a few people on the way out, but she could spot his black hair bouncing as he walked and the grey hoodie caught her eyes immediately.
She didn't want to run so, she settled for following him until he hit the café area.
Jungwon slumped down on one of the sofas, gripping his phone from his pocket and starting to stare at it. At one point, his screen was lit up, showing a random app- and the next, he was staring at the dark screen, the reflection of himself making him sigh.
His body was drowing with a heaviness, as if he was sinking into the depths of the sea. The pressure of school was already tugging at his feet and it was only the first few weeks.
If this was his ability now, then how could he improve? He leaned back, wanting nothing more than to close his eyes and miraculously land in his bed. At least he could dream that he got a good grade.
A thud in front of him made him startled as he opened his eyes to see Yn sitting on the table with a chocolate muffin in her hand. She was holding it out in front of him, expecting him to take it.
Jungwon gazed at the muffin and, for a moment, she thought he would slap the treat out of her hand and cuss her out. But, he actually tilted his head, eyebrows not so buried into his head.
Yn watched him as he took the muffin, and looked up at her with a gentle stare. He almost looked grateful.
"It was a joke, Jungwon. I didn't want to offend you," Yn started, hands interlocking as she fidgeted.
"Plus, it's not the end of the world. It's our first assignment."
Jungwon scoffed, a smile tugging at his lips. "In that case, I'll beat your ass next time."
Astonished, Yn just smiled and rolled her eyes. "17% is a lot to make up for. You sure you can?"
He picked apart the wrapper on the muffin slowly, carefully.
"I thought you knew I'm a fast learner. 17% is nothing." he shrugged.
"Then, can I ask you a question?"
"Better be good."
"Why were you so mad, then. Are first grades that important for you?"
Jungwon froze a little, an agitated gaze shaking in his eyes. He continued taking off the wrapper, eating a little chunk.
"I'm just competitive, that's all. I thought Jay hyung would have told you that."
"Well maybe Jay wants you to speak for yourself." Yn retorted.
Jungwon munched on his muffin, looking up briefly from his muffin. "Sorry, I guess. I could have introduced myself better?"
Yn pursed her lips. It's not like she gave the most welcoming impression ever.
"Well, I could have made a better impression as well. I was mad about the seats."
Jungwon smiled a little again, reminded of the bold requests at the beginning of the year.
"You're pretty serious about having seats to yourself."
"That's an actual problem. If i wasn't sat next to you and Jay, I wouldn't really grow comfortable to anyone else. Oh- and Sunoo as well." Yn gleamed.
Jungwon nodded, considering how lucky he was to actually sit next to his friend. Now that he looked back at it, he was really pricked with pettiness that day. He didn't have the answer as to why he couldn't give up those seats, but he knew it was ridiculous.
"Sorry for calling you grumpy," she said, going for a handshake, eyes sparkling with genuine kindness. As Jungwon gazed up at her, he saw the genial twinkle, one that didn't trigger his anxiety.
Slipping his hands into hers, he shook it. "Sorry for being grumpy."
"Let's start again. I'm Yn," she said, smiling a bit more.
He couldn't help but sigh and nodded, facing her with a small gem of kindness.
"I'm Jungwon."
That was how Yn saw him smile for the first time, and she knew it was going to be a good year. It had to be a good year.
She didn't want anything less.

With the first few weeks going by, you had finally grown used to the busy surroundings. The random class timings, the large breaks between classes that stretched for, what seemed like, years.
And of course, the abstruse assignments that were determined to drag people's feet through the mud until their legs snapped.
"These fvcking assignments," Yunjin muttered as you and her both sauntered towards the cafeteria area and towards their well-known corner. It had abou 3 couches huddled around a table, good for a little study session, you figured.
"Hey, they're suppose to help us, Yun. They're not that bad," You said as she plopped onto the soft, grey couches.
For Yunjin, it wasn't a viable answer as she huffed, gripping the paper tightly, enough to create aggravated creases. "We went through this thing in class. Like- what's the need with the extra homework?"
"It's called reinforcement. Something that helps us."
"It is not helping." Yunjin huffed, shoving the paper into her bag rapidly, not caring if it ripped.
You had always known Yunjin would start complaining about classes soon enough- you were surprised it didn't start sooner.
Out of the corner of your eyes, there was a spot of black that focused on you, a glare of light crossing the vision. Addled, you turned to see a glass lens zoom in and out of your face, and immediately, you shot your hand to the intruding object, blocking its view.
"Hello? Consent much?" You said, furrowing your eyebrows to the man standing in front of you. He cheekily smiled, sharp eyes softening at the gesture.
"Why do I need consent to film my two favourite ladies in the world?"
"Jay, please don't say that- sounds like we're in a polygamous relationship," Yunjin gagged, sending a side-eye to the grinning man. Though, you contorted at your friend's astonishing comment.
"That makes it so much worse," You uttered, facing away to your phone in your lap.
Before Yunjin could even accuse you of what passed under your breath, Jay spoke up again. "I mean, doesn't this kind of memory be deserved to be filmed on this fine camera?"
And then, someone grabbed the gadget into their hands, cradling it tentatively.
"It's not even yours. I only asked you to take care of it for me while I was in line," Jungwon said as he gazed at Jay, and went to sit opposite the two girls.
Jay followed, and everyone was lazily leaning back onto the couch, the internal fatigue sinking into their bones.
Jungwon faced Yunjin, still fiddling with the black strap of his camera.
"What were you so angry about?"
Yunjin clicked her tongue, eyes firing up with the same frustration from 5 minutes ago. You could almost laugh, an amused glint in your gaze..
"This stupid assignment. We already went through it in class, what's the need for more work? What a scam, uni is a scam." she grunted as she crossed her arms over each other. Jay laughed and nodded, swiping his hand through his black hair.
"I agree 100%" Jay affirmed to which Jungwon let out a sardonic scoff.
"Yet you dropped out to take what- English literature?" he smirked. Jay blinked, offended.
"You wanted me to continue forensics? Are you mad? I wouldn't survive."
"It's good you left before midterms came up," Jungwon said. At that, Jay wrapped his arm around Jungwon's neck, putting him in a chokehold to which Jungwon smiled lightly.
You and Yunjin watched the awkward action, but it reminded you and her of how close their paths were.
Despite their different personalities, they blended well together to form their secure friendship, brotherhood- whatever people call it.
Whilst those two continued with their fighting, you gazed a little more upwards to a random poster plastered on the wall above the two bickering boys.
Your eyes glazed over the modern logo, one that had a pastel green background and "GoMin" plastered on it; the end of the pine-coloured word seemed to spiral into a swift circle around the name.
Curious, you furrowed your eyebrows at the paper, tilting your head slightly. A sense of familiarity pulled at your nerves, but the more you dug through your hazy memories, the more your thoughts became stubborn, refusing to actually recognise where you had seen it. You must have seen it somewhere- otherwise, you wouldn't be pondering on the same thought.
Pursing your lips, you stared.
Yunjin glanced at her friend and then touched your shoulder to shake you to which you flinched and gazed at Yunjin.
"You good...?" Yunjin inquired, tentative.
You nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine."
Though, you found your eyes pulled back to the poster; Yunjin followed your gaze and spotted the advert on the wall.
"Ah- the poster! I've seen like 3 this morning," Yunjin said, turning back to you. Confused, you hummed in response, crossing your arms, thoughts clustering together.
"What's with all their promotion? GoMin? What even is that?" Your voice had caught attention of the two playful boys who had halted and looked at you. With a quick glance, they scanned the poster behind them and Jungwon faced you.
"Apparantly, its a charity thing."
Jay turned now, tilting his head. "So, like fundraising?"
"What are we possibly fundraising for?" Yunjin spoke up, eyes flickering back to the poster. Jungwon pondered, eyes clouded with thoughts, but he just shrugged.
"I don't have a clue to be honest," he responded. He pulled his bag to grab something.
You shifted in your seat, cheeks puffing up before deflating in your seat.
"I mean, our tutors would tell us, right? And who even is GoMin?" You asked, to which everyone stayed silent.
"God knows," Yunjin said, now looking at her fingers as she picked on it. You still stared and then someone called your name from behind, a light and sweet voice.
"Yn!"
You turned around to see the familiar strawberry blonde sauntering up to you, eyes gleaming as he saw you. Smiling, you waved and gestured for him to come over.
"Hey, Sunoo," You greeted and everyone else said hi as well. Sunoo waved and smiled at them before coming to sit next to you. Plopping down onto the sofa, he sighed.
"How is everyone?"
Everyone kind of groaned in response, not really giving a word to describe their utterly exciting day (sarcastic of course). You frowned slightly.
"You should've seen the homework we got today...-Oh, by the way, I picked up the assignment for you... and a few other notes..." you said, digging into your backpack to pull out a few resources.
You heard Sunoo thank you. He was always busy with something, or he was sick most of the times. Well- you assumed that was the root of why he wasn't coming in so frequently.
You gathered the papers and handed it to Sunoo, to which he smiled graciously.
"Thanks..."
"What's keeping you so busy?" You asked and everyone listened as well, glancing at Sunoo with curious expressions.
He adjusted his papers as he replied with a skittish look in his gaze. "I actually got an internship-."
"Wait- seriously!?" Yunjin interrupted, eyes widening as she perked up.
You had the same internal reaction: internships were already hard and something that you preferred to do after working your butt off in uni. You always thought there were less hurdles that way- but Sunoo taking one whilst in 1st year was definitely a brave decision to take.
"And they took you in? That's amazing!" You squealed, nudging his shoulder softly.
"I know- I was equally as surprised but I was already looking for one anyway. I emailed them and they emailed me back a few weeks ago. Hence, my absences. Sorry about that."
Jay spoke up now. "What company- for who?"
"GoMin- Oh, their poster!" Sunoo exclaimed, pointing to the poster that you discovered a few minutes back. He smiled and Yunjin turned to him again.
"So you know what GoMin does, right? What is it?" Yunjin asked. It seemed everyone was tuning in now.
"It's a kind of charity company that distributes school and educational supplies to many different school in supply for money or popularity. Kind of like that I guess. I mean, they told me they're sponsoring our school and we have to throw a fundraiser and everything." he explained, eyes staring off into the distance as if to remember every detail.
"So... like a festival?" You interjected. Sunoo shrugged and nodded.
"Yeah, like that."
"Seems a little over-the-top," Jungwon muttered, peeling back the wrapper of the muffin he was eating. His eyes were focused on the snack in front of him. Sunoo shrugs, ignoring Jungwon's comment.
"I mean, it helps with the school's popularity. I guess they should do it," You said. Jungwon glances at you.
"I mean, this school is popular anyway, they must've been offered something if they agreed to this." Jungwon ate his muffin, looking at you from his snack. His brown eyes gazed and then he looked away.
You crossed your arms.
"Money is everything I guess, you can't stop that," you interjected again. Jungwon rolled his eyes, eating his muffin. You knew he wasn't serious as you leaned back on the couch.
Yunjin cleared her throat and looked at Sunoo. "Well, congratulations, anyway!"
Sunoo nodded and thanked her, eyes creasing into a crescent. He had the moon in his eyes and they shined through every emotion he had. And then, Sunoo frowned a little, his hand coming to his head slightly, massaging his temples. You glanced as everyone went back to their own thing.
"You okay, Sun?"
Sunoo chuckled in gratitude, nodding as he picked up his bag and brought out a white bottle. Concern pricked you ever so slightly as you narrowed your eyes at the bottle.
Hastily, he opened it and brought out a white pill. Then, he noticed your worried eyes and he laughed it off, waving his hand dismissively.
"Don't worry, I'm not overdosing or anything. Just something to help me feel less anxious," he said, getting his water bottle. You nodded, but you still couldn't help but follow his actions with your eyes.
"You have anxiety? I could never tell," You said to him. Sunoo chuckled again, amused.
"That means they're working."
Scoffing, you smiled a little. "Yeah, don't overdose, Sun. I don't want to be your therapist if you accidentally... you know.." You gestured to him, joking. He nodded, gulping down the pill.
"I don't think I would be so clumsy."
Then, their conversation was cut short when Jay yelled in triumph, a thin smile on his face as he smirked at Jungwon. The grumpy cat threw his head back in frustration, annoyance igniting in his eyes as he glared at Jay.
"I win in rock, paper, scissors and 21 days-."
"One more game!" Jungwon interrupted tenaciously, narrowing his gaze at the older one. You and Yunjin laughed under your breaths as Jay shook his head, mischief in his expression.
"Nah, you agreed you would do the dare! No more chances, you already had one," Jay said, clapping his hands as he smiled. Jungwon's lips twitched before he looked at you and Yunjin. In confusion, they just waited for Jungwon to speak.
He fiddled with the sleeves of his hoodie, swiping his hair back slightly.
"Fine..." Jungwon huffed, crossing his arms as gloominess clouded his expression.
"I'm going to dinner, and I'm inviting you. Would you like to go, I'll pay," Jungwon asked, the dagger of irritation poking in every few syllables.
You looked at Yunjin and you guys both smirked. Both of you knew you could never close the gate to anyone offering free food, so you two glaced back at Jungwon. A look of dread washed over his face.
"Of course we would!" You said.
"Obviously, it must be a nice resturant."
"He can't take us to a shitty resturant out of spite-."
"That wouldn't be surprising-" Yunjin was cut off when Jungwon cleared his throat, looking at the pair with a gloomy cloud over his head, threatening to rain on his head.
"I take that as a yes?"
"Of course. It's free food!" You said, tilting your head. You then, turned to Sunoo, who was watching the conversation go down.
"You wanna tag along and drain his card?" You asked, gesturing to Jungwon. He chuckled and shook his head, and in the corner of your eyes, Jungwon deflate dhis shoulders in relief.
"No, with all this work to catch up on, I have to pass... sorry, guys," He said, pouting a little.
"Meh, it's fine, I think Jungwon would die if another person tagged along," Jay interjected, playfully nudging his shoulder hard against Jungwon. The other boy slowly turned to glare at the older one, and Jay pinched his cheek. Jungwon winced, slapping his hand away softly.
"Then, it's settled! What time? It has to be dinner, right?" Yunjin exclaimed, eyes sparkling with anticipation. Jungwon's gaze flickered around the cafeteria, uneasy.
"I don't know, we could go to one in town...?" He muttered, looking down at his sleeves slightly. Jay hummed in response.
"Easy and cheap... I want to drain your card, though..."
Jungwon glared again.
"Chill, hyung. Quality over quanitity," Jungwon said. Scoffing, Jay crossed his arms.
"Not in this case-." Jay couldnt finish his sentence before Jungwon nudged him in the ribs. Pain briefly sweeps over Jay before he starts smiling and looking at both the girls.
"Dinner time is perfect. So like, seven-ish?" Yunjin suggests, perking up at the future plans. Jay nodded and looked to jungwon for approval. The younger boy shrugged and nodded.
"Fine with me- wait, am I driving as well?" Jungwon asked, narrowing his eyes at everyone. Jay kind of was silent before he smiled sheepishly.
"I mean... yeah..."
"Bruh, you said I would pay for dinner, not be your slave!" Jungwon retorted, crossing his arms, a gleam of apprehension shining in his expression for a second.
Jay put an across his shoulders, sighing dramatically.
"It's the sacrifice. You're doing good deeds," Jay explained. You kind of giggled at that.
"I didn't realise all of you guys were charity," he said, looking at all of them, seeing their faces sparkle with amusement. You chuckled.
"Don't throw a tantrum, Won, you lost the game-."
"Okay fine- you guys are greedy as hell." Jungwon smirked as he scoffed. Everyone shrugged and smiled.
"I mean, living as a uni student is hard," You said, pouting slightly. Jungwon saw the expression and he smirked smugly.
"Don't you work?" Jungwon crossed his arms, throwing back a remark. You gave a look of disbelief.
"Which I pay bills with, Jungwon. Me and Yunjin both pay for the rent," You explained, looking at your withered, green nails. Yunjin kind of agreed (even though Yunjin was rich as heck).
"That's not my question- you still work so, I don't know why you think you can drain my money," he said, looking at his sleeves, tugging them downwards. Shrugging, you just smiled with a gleam of mischief.
"Just because, you know. Pissing you off is kind of funny," You replied and Jay nodded in agreement, determined to ignite Jungowns silent fire more.
"I agree- like, look you're already growing red from anger. Your ears are red!" Jay exclaimed. Everyone snickered a little and Jungwon thrusted the hoodie over his head, making sure to curtain his ears with a little frown on his lips.
And then, he muttered something like, "My ears are not red."
Yunjin scoffed and then directed her attention to her phone. Then, a sigh.
"You have psychology, don't you, Yn? Pfft, good luck," she said, glancing at you.
You, in fact, had psychology and it almost felt like a wave of depressions washed over your head and was drowning you before entering the classroom- you hadn't even left the cafeteria. A twinge of annoyance crossed your face.
"Unfortunately..."
And Jay turned to Jungwon. "You have film- how fun."
Jungwon nodded and carefully picked up his camera, that was resting in his bag, smoothing his finger over the delicate surface.
"It's better than psych." Jungwon stood and so did you, hearing his little comment. But then again, you couldn't dig for a remark because, deep down, you knew that film could possibly be better than psych... in maybe every aspect.
Everyone stood, including Sunoo as the lecture time was approaching. Once you didn't reply, Jungwon smirked and looked at you, walking to the main hallway.
"Have fun at you psych lesson," Jungwon said, walking ahead of you and Yunjin.
With a petty smile, you walked closer to him.
"Thank you so much. Oh- and by the way, thank you again for agreeing to treat us to dinner," you said, hand tugging on his blue hoodie and ruffling his hair. It made Jungwon recoil as he scowled at you, not liking his hair unkempt.
You chuckled, making a smug face. Approaching the door, you was about to go through after Jungwon, until your body unexpectedly slammed into the door; you retreated with embarrassment flooding your face and a sting of pain springing in your left arm.
Shooting your gaze to Jungwon through the glass doors, there was the smallest smug grin. Yunjin laughed behind you.
You was about to burst the door open and lunge after, except an older man had opened it for you, his hairs greying and a frail stubble on his chin. He had a straight face and his attire was a blue jumpsuit. His brown eyes shone at her gently as he slowly smiled.
Your anger freeze as you smiled and bowed to him, seeing the 'Janitor' tag. "Thank you..."
The man smiled tenderly and you was off again, racing to psych class as Jungwon had already run with the wind and dissapeared.

Even after class, you were still a bit energetic since the idea of free food made your fatigue fade. You were picking out outfits and Yunjin was brushing her strawberry blonde locks, scanning her reflection with scrutiny. She pouted a little and you laughed slightly.
"You're duck, you know?" You said, picking out a sweater. Yunjin snickered, stretching the brush through her straight hair.
"I prefer dumpling- they're just juicy like that."
"Yeah, no one's calling you that," You said, getting changed.
When a car beeped in front of the apartment, you ushered Yunjin out, entering the cold and sharp wind. March was a pretty icy month in Korea and you snuggled into the padded jacket, the serene evening sky returning to the world. Yunjin got into the back with Jay, and you had no choice but to sit at the passenger seat.
The car interior was warm and you shivered, skin stinging at the sudden heat.
"Thank you so much, Jungwon for driving us."
Jungwon sighed, his fingers finding its way to pinch a strand of your loose hair and tugging. You winced, glaring at him.
"Hello??" You exclaimed, hearing Jay and Yunjin snicker. Jungwon just smirked a little.
"I'm the driver, don't complain," He said, setting the car off and the vehicle started moving. You just rubbed your scalp slightly, cheeks flushing in embarrassment.
Everyone watched the road, sitting in silence for a few minutes. And then Jay sighed, his eyes glued to the road, not taking it off for a second or a blink.
"I may have been in your car so many times, but please don't crash," Jay said, exasperated. You chuckled leaning your elbow on the car window as Jungwon flickered his eyes in the rear view mirror and sending a glare to Jay.
"If I crash, I would've done it by now." Jungwon turned the steering wheel, the car swerving softly.
"Give him some slack, Jay, he is completing a dare right now," Yunjin sighed, the fake concern reaching her voice as the three of them laughed.
"Guys, I'm not joking, I can kick all of you out and leave you on the road," Jungwon muttered, pulling up his hoodie sleeves halfway up the forearm. You took a glance and then quickly looked back at the road, seeing the bustling town life come into view.
The conversation continued with snarky jokes and talks about classes. And of course, they all made fun of you and your psychology class, taunting your desolate situation. Rolling your eyes, you smiled in amusement.
"You know you want to agree with us, Yn," Jay said, leaning towards you from the back seat, trying his hardest to break your unbothered shell. You waved him off, keeping your stoic mask on.
"I mean, it's much better than English Literature..." you said, turning to glance at Jay with a sharp look. He put his hands up in defense and then he suddenly clapped his hands, announcing something.
"Okay- English time, guys- let's go!" Jay said, and everyone kind of groaned in response.
"Yunjin, you're American, why are you mad about speaking English?" Jay inquired, raising an eyebrow.
"Still takes a lot of mental effort, you know," she muttered, grumbling a little.
You scoffed, trying to turn to your friend. "What mental effort-."
Before you could even finish the sentence, Yunjin reached over the seat and also pulled your hair making your scalp sting. You winced and slapped Yunjin's hand.
"Do you guys have some kind of obsession with pulling my hair...?" You murmured, rubbing your head. Yunjin was also rubbing the sore spot on her hand, pouting.
"And you slap people a lot."
"No- what? I don't--."
"Okay, we're here," Jungwon said, swerving smoothly into a parking space, and making the two girls shut up. He finally turned off the engine and everyone clicked off the seat belts, stepping into the sharp, cold wind.
You shivered, lips already chapped and dried out.
"Shit, it's cold," You cursed, hugging your coat tighter. Yunjin agreed before they all walked down the lively street, weaving through the crowd. The lights were still blaring, alive and intruding into people's sights.
The street had a comfortable wave of conversations, the volume adding to the night-life ambience. All 4 of them walked by each other, trying to find a diner to eat and drink.
Despite the cold weather, everyone felt somewhat warm from the hearty atmosphere. And they soon arrived to the diner- one that Jay pointed to and was convinced had the best soju ever.
Jungwon grumbled because he knew he couldn't have it since he just had to drive everyone there.
Once entering, the warm air flooded over them, a server diligently coming to them and leading them to a clean table. The walls were dark, a rich purple and red with warm lights hanging low over the booths.
They all seated themselves in the booth and you snatched the tablet to get the menu up, eyes fixtated on all the possible options to drain Jungwon's card.
"This place is actually nice, Jay," You said, shrugging as your eyes scanned over the choices on the screen. Yunjin huddled next to you, looking as well.
And Jay chuckled.
"Never underestimate my recommendations. I'm at least that good."
Jungwon just smiled lightly, scoffing.
"You took forensics- I don't think we should ever trust your first decisions..." Jungwon trailed off, crossing his arms, amusement on his face.
Jay just nudged his head softly and Jungwon grumbled again.
You and Yunjin tapped on their orders, muttering amongst yourselvesa.
"Okay, but I'm craving tteokbeokki," You said, pointing to the option. With a growling stomach you were about to tap on it, but Yunjin moved it, scrolling.
"But dumplings though..."
"Yun, come on- get tteokbeokki."
"I don't know- it's just so... basic."
You sent daggers to Yunjin. "And dumplings isn't?"
Yunjin had a playfully offended expression.
"Of course not-."
"Let's just get both..." You stopped her, looking at Yunjin in the eye and the same gleam crossed over each other. And then, you both nodded and tapped on both.
"Jungwon is paying so I don't really care," Yunjin whispered discreetly.
"Okay, but I need rice- or a main meal-."
"Damn, are you guys done yet?" Jungwon said from opposite. You looked up briefly with a sheepish eye and then looked down again.
"I don't want to order random shit," You remarked, scrolling.
"It would still taste good, though?"
"Just be patient, Jungwon," You snapped a little and Jungwon rolled his eyes, leaning back onto the back of the seat and crossing his arms.
Gradually, you and Yunjin ordered and gave the tablet to them and Jay took it as he now ventured the page with Jungwon.
The mumbled conversation in the back and the low lights gave you a sense of relaxation. You enjoyed this part of uni life- of being away from your dad, from his protective blanket. Perhaps, the study part could wait in the back of your head for a little. Looking at the computer for 2 hours straight definitely caused your back to bolt into such stiffeness...
Once everyone ordered, they put the tablet down and the soju came on the table, the green bottles clinking among the murmuring. The petite glasses were also situated near the green bottles. Before you and Yunjin could open one, Jay held them back, a dramatic gaze in his eyes.
"We can't do it just yet," Jay said, voice sharp as he stared at the bottles. You sighed and Yunjin gave a bored look.
Jungwon shook his head, knowing where Jay was going with this.
"Are you going to actually try?" Jungwon asked, raising his eyebrows.
"Of course I will, why wouldn't I?" Jay said before swiping a bottle and gripping it, his eyes set on the green glass.
Everyone seemed to sigh as Jay flipped the bottle upside down, making the liquid spin inside as he did a rush of actions before turning it the tight way up, and presented it to everyone.
Jay hoped it would work as he stared inside the bottle and saw a weak swirl inside.
Everyone stared in silence before Jungwon couldn't help but chuckle lowly.
"All of that for nothing?" Jungwon laughed, holding his stomach. Jay blinked, flustered as he clutched the bottle.
"It's not like it didn't work..." Jay muttered, embarrassment shining in his face.
"It was the bare minimum, Jay." Yunjin laughed after, amused. You chuckled as well and Jay had his ears flooding red and he scoffed.
"As if you guys could do better?" Jay spat at them, prying the lid open and grabbing the shot glass and lazily pouring them over the edges.
Jungwon scoffed. "If I wasn't driving, I would do it."
"Oh please, you're not going to drink it, just do the tornado thing- go on, do it," Jay urged, challenging Jungwon as he put his glass down, grabbing a shot glass.
With a sharp gaze, Jungwon took another green bottle and he inhaled deeply, eyes focused as if he was manifesting something. Everyone held their breaths, fixating their eyes on the hopeful action.
Jungwon flipped the bottle swiftly- a bit too much as the slippery glass slipped out of his hand and thunked to the table.
He yelped, his reflexes catching it before it could smash. Everyone gaped.
"That was close, gosh, Jungwon. We didn't want you to break the bottle..." You said, apprehensive.
"Yeah, bro, what are you doing?!" Jay exclaimed, grabbing the bottle from Jungwon as if he would break the drink if he moved an inch.
"You haven't even drunk and you're already dropping things," You muttered, smirking. Jungwon scratched tugged at his sleeves as he looked at the glass being taken away.
"Oops."
Next, Yunjin tried to do it, her hand diligently flipping the bottle and swirling it with a force. And then, she forced it back up and everyone stared in awe as there was an actual swirl present. You clapped a little and nodded in satisfaction, eyes igniting with pride.
"It worked better than those two over there," You said, gesturing to the two boys.
Scoffing, Jungwon grabbed a bottle and shoved it to you, to which you stared at it quizzically.
"Go on, do it yourself," Jungwon urged, chin tipped up in smugness.
"Fine."
You had to be strategic with this. Do it at the right timing, the right amount of force and the velocity had to just be exactly correct for the tornado to actually happen within the liquid-
"Yn, what are you doing?" Yunjin nudged you. Momentarily, you glanced at Yunjin before looking back at the green bottle.
You did the same motion as everyone else, flipping it upside down and then doing the little spin with your hands before flipping it back up forcefully and- behold, there was actually a swirl digging into the drink. You grinned at the two boys, who stared with spite. You were actually shocked at yourself to be honest.
"You guys are idiots," You interjected as Yunjin nodded and laughed.
"Shut up," they both chorused, a flash of embarrassment crossing over their faces.
Soon, the food came and everyone had done a few shots, giggling and talking. Jungwon had restrained a drink from his lips even if he urged to have one and join in. Though, he distracted it with the tteokbeokki, taking it from your side.
Seeing food being stolen, you struck your chopsticks at his making him drop it on the table.
"Yn, what the hell? Let me it eat," he said, grumbling as he quickly grabbed it and ate it. You frowned, allowing him before taking the small glass and drinking the soju.
You couldn't exactly be annoyed at him since he was sacrificing his fuel to take everyone out.
The night was filled Yunjin and Jay speaking in English and switching the languages. Jungwon had tried hard to listen, but with his eyebrows dug deep into his face, he gave up and shrugged. You understood bits and pieces and you continued to finish the meal.
And it was like university wasn't a thing to the four of them, and it dissipated within a second.
In their own little bubble, about 2 hours passed by and it was 8:15 PM when they all devoured the food, not wasting any of it. Yunjin suddenly exclaimed, eyes wide with distress.
"I didn't take pictures- oh my gosh?"
You groaned, glaring at Yunjin because you also wanted to capture the memory but their hunger had consumed them before the aesthetic.
"You didn't take pictures?"
Yunjin shook her head, agitated as she scrolled through her phone in the gallery. "Nope, I only got Jay holding the soju bottle... ugh, I'm not posting that to insta."
Jay threw a look of offence, scowling. "What do you mean you can't?"
"You look high," Yunjin muttered, her eyes glued to her phone. You laughed, head a little bit dazed.
"No, wait, send it to me," You said, huddling next to Yunjin. The two girls giggled as Jay scowled and went back to finishing the last bit of his drink.
And then, you sat straight, an idea popping into you mind. You gazed at everyone.
"Who wants dessert?" You asked. The 3 of them looked with interest in their expression, and then Jungwon spoke.
"I'm not driving there." He crosses his arms stubbornly. You had a little gleam of annoyance in your eyes.
"Oh come on, it's, like, 10 minutes from here- you won't even realise you drove there," you said, pouting. You couldn't tell if you were a little bite dazed from the alcohol, but you were determined to get your hands on something sweet.
Jungwon simply stared at the pouty lips and the glare, and he looked away to Jay, who was also quite keen of the idea. With eyes sparkling at Jungwon, Jay blinked.
"Oh come on, Jungwon, don't be so grumpy," Jay said, leaning to him, eyes fluttering. Jungwon sighed, crossing his arms and turning his head to the other direction, away from their tenacious gazes.
Jay scowled, nudging Jungwon.
"Bro, what's the big deal?" Jay asked. The latter just huffed, annoyance painted on his face, bleeding strongly through his expression.
"Oh come on, don't you want gelato or something," You urged, trying to crack that stubborn exterior.
His gaze flickered, as if tempted to give in to that, but he rolled his eyes. "Nah, I'm good."
"Bro, rock, paper, scissors, let's go!" Jay exclaimed, bringing his hand out to set that battle up. You and Yunjin watched in anticipation as Jungwon warily glanced at his hand formed in a fist.
Jungwon really didn't want to- this was a trap, a very meticulous trap that he was slowly walking into...
"For the gelato."
"For the strawberry with chocolate," you interjected.
"For the bingsu," Yunjin said.
And from these attacks, he sighed as he uncrossed his arms, a look of defeat in his eyes.
"Fine."

You jolt in your seat ever so suddenly, staring at Jungwon in the darkness of the car. Startled, Jungwon stops the car momentarily, looking in the side mirrors and staring back at the ambiguity of the road behind them.
He wasn't that careless to not move out of the way of something on this type of isolated road. Now that the car jumped, he couldn't help but keep staring behind him.
Anxiety slightly pinched Jungwon's spine as he sighed. The other three stayed in silence, trying to formulate their thoughts.
"Um.. what was that?" Yunjin asked quietly, a slight shake in her voice. You looked in the other door mirror.
"I don't... see anything..." You mumbled slowly. It was as if the shakiness was contagious because now you couldn't stop the shake creeping into your tone.
"We should go check it, just quickly," Jungwon said, gazing over at you. Your eyes widened.
"Me?"
"Yes, you. Who else," Jungwon muttered, clicking the seatbelt off.
"I don't know, maybe Jay?"
"Shut up, and come with me." Jungwon huffed as he opened the car door, the swift breeze chilling your bones. You couldn't even bite back with a response and, exasperated, you opened the door and walked out before closing the car door.
The wind passed by her and you shivered, walking slowly to the rear of the car with Jungwon. The night sky blanketed your vision, the car engine rumbling into their ears.
No one was saying it but their spines ran with uneasiness, quiet breaths from both as they approached whatever they ran over.
At first, from the car's red lights, you couldn't make it out. It seemed dull and lumpy, and you moved closer with Jungwon.
"What is it...?" Jungwon mumbled to himself but you could hear every word. You ignored the way your muscles bolted into place and walked closer.
Looked like a speed bump, but it wasn't even in the appropriate place to even resemble one.
"Yn, hold on," Jungwon said, a hand wrapping around your arm gently tugging you back. You sensed his anxiety and couldn't help but let the feeling flood your senses as well; you shakily crept more.
With a hand still on your arm, you forced herself to go to it and it wasn't a speed bump.
Seemed like a black bag- a long one.
This time, Jungwon inched closer, bending to it and finally a stench hit his nose as he scrunched his face up. He cleared his throat a little, trying to comfort himself.
"What the hell...?"
You bent down next to him, the air chilling you more as you tugged at what seemed like a zipper on the black lump. Your breath was caught in your throat, but you forced your lungs to relax, inhaling and exhaling.
The stench hit you now as you cleared your throat, and Jungwon peered at the thing as well.
Gently pulling, you revealed a bloody mess of someone's face, eyes wide and void of life- as if he had no light. His neck having a clean cut line that coloured him scarlet over his dead flesh. And the skin seemed so purple, pale and red- veins cut messily and the dried blood explained the awful stench
And you both screamed, losing footing as you and him stumbled away.

YOU DON'T KNOW IF YOU SCREAMED FOR LONG, but one thing you did register is Jungwon's fingers curling around your arm, pulling you back.
Your eyes was fixtated over the bloodied skin, his open eyes staring at the night sky.
"Shit, come on, Yn, stand up!" Jungwon said, his voice trembling and you found the strength in your legs.
Your thoughts were just tangled and intertwined, you couldn't hear a single coherent thought.
"Yn!"
You stood, the sheer shock freezing your nerves as you clung onto Jungwon, and you find yourself and him backing away.
What the fvck just happened? The red lights from his car didn't help. It only added to the darkness surround you and him.
You could almost hear your own heartbeat, staring at the body bag...
"Get in the car." You pulled on his arm. Jungwon nodded wordlessly and he gave you a little push as well.
You barely registered how badly your legs were melting as you pulled the car door open, entering the warmth of the vehicle, but everything felt so cold inside your muscles.
With a slam of his door, Jungwon shakily clutched his phone.
"Um, what happened? We heard you scream?" Yunjin asked, oblivious of what your mind was just tainted with. And you didn't speak for a second.
"Yn, Jungwon?"
Jay gazed at you and him, watching how Jungwon fumbled with his phone, typing in the 3 numbers and latching the phone to his ear. Instinctively, he locked the car doors, realising how they were utterly drowned in darkness, the dark road isolated, crops and plants on either side.
You rubbed your eyes, swiping a hand through your hair and you felt the flashes of the body shock you.
"What the fvck is going on?" Yunjin said again, leaning off her backseat.
"It's... there's a body..."
Yunjin stilled, words and thoughts freezing for a good moment. It wasn't quite processed in anyone's brain. It didn't sound real.
"You're kidding-."
"I'm sorry, did you say body- as in, a dead body?" Jay spoke up but he was in disbelief.
And Jungwon started speaking into the phone, eyes flickering here and there, feeling a little sick. He could almost smell the lingering stench of blood.
"Hello, I need to report something..."
Whilst Jungwon discussed with the police, you couldn't help but feel the looming darkness. The eerie night hung over the car more heavily. You couldn't find your words that were buried deep in your chest.
There was something peculiar about the man. The little stubble on his chin, the wrinkles dented underneath the eyes, the blue fabric over his once-alive body.
The realisation dawned upon you, and your breath came out shaky as you heard Yunjin speak again, trying to ask if you're okay, her hand shaking your shoulder a little.
"I recognise him," You said quietly, staring ahead in the darkness. Yunjin and Jay became quiet, bewildered.
"What do you mean?" Jay murmured.
For a few seconds, you heard Jungwon speak frantically about what he saw into the phone, and then you turned to the two in the back, anxious knots tightening your chest.
"The man... the d-dead body... its the school Janitor."
After a few minutes of waiting on the line and staying frozen in the car, your heartbeat calmed a little. It was still racing, but your nerves weren't going insanely crazy, and your fingers tangled over each other.
Yunjin and Jay kept silent, their head occasionally turning towards the back windshield, seeing the blurred outline of the body bag within the red lights.
And Jungwon's eyes darted around, his fingers picking at his sleeve, his phone heating his ear, but he couldn't even register the increasing warmth over his igniting thoughts.
You couldn't help but try and make yourself feel better, words coming out before you registered them.
"Since he's dead, do you think Jungwon will get arrested?"
Everyone turned to you in silence. Jungwon furrowed his eyebrows, disbelief sweeping across his gaze.
"What the fvck?"
"Sorry."
Their phones light up simultaneously, reminding them that they were somewhat connected to reality outside of the traumatic event you and Jungwon witnessed.
Though it was just Heeseung asking about desserts and Jay scowled, muttering a "he just doesn't give up".
Where you did find Heeseung to be comforting in... strange ways, you found it more comforting when flashing blue and red lights caught your gaze from the mirrors of the car.
The sirens peirced the silence of the isolated road, 2 vehicles pulling up in front of Jungwon's car, securing the area. Everyone practically deflated, you and Jungwon especially.
A few officers exited, talking into their radios as they sauntered to the windows, knocking thrice. Jungwon instantly put the windows down, heart racing.
They started off introducing themselves, one officer at your side and another at Jungwon's. They asked for names first before everyone had to get out the car despite the creeping anxiety.
Hugging yourself, you stood next to Jungwon and Yunjin, the air growing chilly. Maybe it was only colder because you refused to move a muscle.
More police officers gathered around the body, their radios buzzing as messages were transacted. You're glad Yunjin and Jay didn't need to witness that.
You were snapped back to reality when a kind voice spoke to everyone. You glanced to see a young man, black hair and full lips. You saw his sympathetic smile and he held a little, black notepad.
"Hi, I'm officer Sim Jaeyun, I'm going to take in statements," He introduced himself. Though, Jay perked up, glancing at Jaeyun with a spark in his eye.
"Bro?" Jay uttered, stepping forward. The officer glanced, a similiar spark in his eyes.
"Braur?" Jaeyun said back, and everyone witnessed them approaching each other, dabbing one another. It was honestly the most weirdest thing to be fair.
Jay smiled a little before turning to you and the other two, sensing the confusion.
"Ah right, Jaeyun- I mean, Jake, used to be my study partner. We took different courses but they aligned pretty well."
Oh right- Jay took forensics before dropping out that path before he got hit with the difficulty.
It was a nice little reunion, but no one said anything, frankly too apprehensive.
"And they're my friends. We were about to get dessert, but y'know, those plans are ruined..."
Jake shook his head softly, smiling at everyone. He held his notepad, sighing.
"I didn't think my reunion with you would be at a crime scene." Jake breathed, looking at Jay and the others with concern.
An awkward laugh escaped Jay's lips and he scratched his nape.
"Yeah, it's not ideal..."
You stared blankly at the ground, mind slowly crumbling. You shuddered and Jay noticed, worry twinkling in his eye.
Jake spoke again. "I transferred a few weeks ago. So, to be fair, this is my first case right now."
Everyone kind of listened, the chill of the wind grazing everyone's skin, hair messing up slightly. Jake decided to set everything down to business as he cleared his throat, and flipped his notepad.
"I'll take statements. Who found the body first? I'll probably take their statement first."
You and Jungwon perked up. You don't know what it was, but the actual idea of seeing a dead body, a person that smiled at you this morning kind of haunted you. And for Jungwon, he didn't imagine his night turning out like this, the police making it so much more real for him.
"Me and Yn... found it," Jungwon chimed quietly, calmly. And Jake nodded, gesturing for you and him to walk closer.
Following his orders, the two separated from the other two, and feeling as if the air escaped their lungs. Even if it was windy and there was plenty to be shared.
Keeping his professional stance, Jake clicked his pen and looked at Jungwon.
"I guess you were the one driving?"
Jungwon nodded, eyes flickering as if his thoughts were drawn to some other place in his head. "Yeah..."
"And, where were you going?" Jake inquired, writing down briefly with a brisk scribble.
Now that you thought about it, you felt bad for prompting this whole trip the dessert shop- you only planted yourself in trouble and now, you were stuck with a memory you and him never wanted.
"A dessert shop. We were going to the new one that opened up.." Jungwon uttered, gaze shifting again, arms playing with his long sleeves.
Jake just nodded and he continued with the generic questions of did you see anything suspicious and all of that. But you stayed silent, reality becoming a fuzz to you. You didn't even hear Jungwon calling your name.
"Yn?" Jungwon said sternly, nudging your side and you flinched, eyes snapping back to Jake.
"Oh.. sorry," You murmured, finding yourself inhaling deeply, the anxiety fogging up your lungs.
Jake nodded and just turned to you.
"Same thing, I presume?"
You honestly didn't hear Jungwon speaking.
"I... yeah. The dessert shop... and then we ran over something hard... and the body..." you trailed off, remembering the Janitor's gentle look before you left the campus.
It just didn't seem real. You must be imagining things...
"Yn? Are you okay?" Jake asked, inching closer to you and causing you to nod aimlessly.
"I recognise him..."
Jungwon gave you the same curious look as Jake began to listen closer.
"Really?"
"The Janitor at school. He.. I'm pretty sure it's him..."
"And what school do you guys go to?"
"Youreun University," You replied automatically. It just terrified you that someone you met this morning had completely been robbed off their life.
With your growing apprehension, Jake nodded and wrote down the scribble. "Thank you. Do you need some water or anything? You look a little... dazed."
Jungwon and Jake saw you shake your head, giving a grateful smile, but your eyes were glued back to the body bag surrounded by officers.
And suddenly, your urge to apologise to Jungwon kind of grew.
"You won't arrest us, right?" You said, and Jake had to restrain a smile.
"No, no, of course not. There's not really evidence you guys did anything. Besides, you guys have given me some alibis. We'll just check that and you will probably be free to go." Jake ruffled his hair in the wind, brown locks flying around.
Jungwon deflated at the news and you nodded, wanting to reach home. The sweet desire of dessert was completely dry in your head, and to be fair, you did need some water. And your bed.
"How do you recognise him? Are you related or...?"
"No, I just happened to bump into him t-this morning," You replied, rubbing your own arm, suddenly feeling the chill of the night.
Jake nodded and sighed, asking a few more questions before he relaxed on the statement-taking.
Jungwon's eyes trailed back to the body, being able to see the faint dry blood on the man's neck, and his eyes were forced closed. He shuddered.
After taking a short statement from Yunjin and Jay, they all stood on one side of the road with Jake giving a reassuring smile to everyone.
"So, are you here for good?" Jay asked Jake, arms crossed. Jake nodded.
"Yeah, if I impress my boss," Jake muttered, suddenly having his face morph into somewhat distress at the mention of his superior. Everyone stared.
"You looked like you saw a ghost- is your boss bad or something?" Jay uttered, joking but when Jake stared back with the same startled expression, everyone kind of basked in the silence.
Sheepishly scratching his head, Jake gathered his words.
"It's not that he's bad... he's just a bit... how do I say it-?"
Before Jake could continue, a voice broke him out of his speech and a man approached them, tall with shoulders back, black hair, almost into a mullet with a blue jacket over his attire.
"Jake, I've been looking for you."
He winced and turned back to Jay with a whisper.
"Melodramatic," Jake finished his sentence and everyone heard it, a small smile tugging at the lips.
His boss sauntered over, a mask over his face, which he pulled down to fully examine everyone, obviously a little tedious at the sight. It wasn't everyday that you saw 4 university students and a dead body.
"Did they find the body, officer Sim?"
He was quick to answer, nodding. "Yes, sir. And I took the stat-."
"The statements? Good. You're kind of getting used to this."
Jay had to hold back a smirk as he gave a discrete side-eye to Jake. The officer simply smiled, though it was so little.
"And, do their alibis match? Do you think they're suspects?" His boss asked once more, looking at his phone momentarily. Jake shook his head, keeping up his polite stature.
"No, sir. I think they're all good to go. Of course, if you think so," Jake uttered, hands behind his back. Then, the man finally looked at you and the others, scanning each one before nodding, acknowledging.
"Nice to meet you despite such unfortunate events. I'm DCI Kim Seokjin, I'm leading this investigation," he introduced himself, bringing out these small business cards to hand to you and the others.
Hesitantly taking it, everyone just looked in silence, bowing slightly out of courtesy.
"Well, if officer Jake thinks you are free to go, I'll trust his word. And don't worry, we'll solve this quickly- don't dwell on it."
But that thought, for you and Jungwon, seemed to be much further than you could reach within an arm's length. The shudder that ran through your spine was noticeable and you hugged yourself tightly, the wind brushing your skin.
Seokjin nodded and gave a curt smile, thinking he was done here. "Please go home. I'm pretty sure university students don't want to be out this late after what you guys have seen."
The ride back home was silent to say the least. You couldn't even hear yourself breathe over the engine and the sound of the wheels rolling along. You sighed, rubbing your eyes briefly.
Yunjin couldn't dare to ask and interrupt your silent trance, wanting to ask much more. But she knew better and left you alone.
And Jay ignored how his phone kept vibrating with Heeseung exploding with tweets on twitter. Silently scowling, he turned his phone to silent before looking at Jungwon, who stiffly drove, lips tightly shut.
The apology was right at your lips, but you didn't really say anything, feeling sick. The smell lingered in your nose, forcing your stomach to shift.
"You okay?" Jay asked, breaking the brittle silence.
With a small sigh, you nodded with your head planted somewhere else. "Yeah.."
Jungwon couldn't say anything, eyes flickering around as if he was searching for something. Though, no one questioned it.
So when Jungwon dropped you and Yunjin home, he didn't say anything, eyes focused on his steering wheel. Jay slipped into the front seat, giving a concerned glance to his friend.
"You haven't said a word since we got in the car. You okay?" Jay asked, buckling the seatbelt. Jungwon responded with a sigh, nodding as he glanced around the street cautiously.
"I'm fine. I just need sleep to be honest," Jungwon murmured, which was partially true. After all that his mind was completely dragged through the mud, and he wanted to just get home and forget about it.
Jay understood and nodded, facing the front.
He didn't realise the way Jungwon shuddered when he started the car again, trying to get rid of the goosebumps flaring across his arms and neck.
It wasn't a long drive to Jay's dorm, and Jungwon couldn't even muster a wave before driving off, feeling the roads get lonelier.
He was just pondering, his gaze flickering back and forth. It just didn't seem real that he saw death again. The lifeless eyes.
He breathed shakily, gulping hard as he returned home, the goosebumps engraved in his skin.
He wanted to forget the look, the mere display of death and the paranoia that was starting to become more prominent the more he walked up to his front door and entered his home.
In the proximity of his house, he finally relaxed, absolutely withered and shaken with apprehension. To be fair, he didn't even think about brushing his teeth before he dropped to his bed and finally went on his phone.
He simply ignored the email regarding his film project and tapped onto twitter.

How you even made it to university the next day was a mystery. You and Yunjin sauntered through the halls, and you were tired.
Your eyes had slight bags under them, and you were still cautiously darting your eyes around the school halls. It seemed normal. Like the news hadn't slipped into the crowd.
And you were daydreaming so much, you didn't realise you bumped into Sunoo, who was leaning on the wall, playing a game on his phone and he made a little "oof" sound.
Yunjin tugged you back by the sleeve and glanced to your zoned-out state.
Upon seeing Sunoo, you sheepishly smiled.
"Sorry, Sun," You murmured, stepping back a little. He smiled, pausing his game.
"It's fine. You seem a little stressed. Or.. dizzy. Are you about to pass out??" Sunoo lists frantically, suddenly sending a hand flying to your forehead, checking for any temperature.
You flinched away a little, giving a roll of the eyes. "I'm not going to pass out," You said defensively.
Sunoo took his hand away, pouting. "You certainly look distracted. What's up?"
Yunjin and you exchanged glances, considering whether or not to tell him what atrocities was deeply buried in your memory. Sighing, you gestured for him to come closer until you, Yunjin and Sunoo were huddled in a bizarre circle.
"Don't tell anyone, okay?" You blinked at Sunoo.
Too eager to know, he nodded and his gaze was perplexed but curious.
You never imagined having to say these words in your entire life.
"Well, you know how we went out last night?"
Sunoo hums in response, tilting his head.
"Well, we were on the way to get dessert. We tweeted it, remember?"
"Oh, I wasn't really on twitter last night... I didn't see it," Sunoo said, smiling awkwardly. You shrugged and dismissed it.
"It's fine. But we maye have... um... how do i say it... ran over a dead body and... you know, we had to call a police-."
"I'm sorry, what!?" Sunoo exclaimed, startling both you and Yunjin. She shushed him, a finger on her lips and glaring slightly.
Sunoo covered his mouth, apologetic before he uncovered it.
"A dead body. Are you being for real?" Sunoo whispered in the little huddle. Yunjin nodded, shuddering a little.
"We called the police obviously... and we were let go." You sighed, playing with your hair a little. Though, Sunoo couldn't get the startled look out of his expression. It stayed firmly in his eyes.
"That's crazy. I can't... believe it," Sunoo muttered, stepping back from the huddle with concern. You and Yunjin stayed silent for a moment.
"Just don't tell anyone, Sunoo. I don't think we need people to look and point fingers at us." Yunjin sighed, eyeing the crowd around her as if they were discreetly listening.
Sunoo nodded slowly, taking his time to process the events.
In silence, you, Yunjin and Sunoo walk to class, expecting to meet Jungwon and Jay at the top where their designated seats are. But to your surprise, they weren't.
As you and Yunjin were about to follow Sunoo, the professor steps over.
Sunoo glanced over his shoulder quizzically and you stared back with a concerned shrug as to why you and Yunjin are being held up. The curiosity and apprehension bubbled in both you and Yunjin.
The professor smiles awkwardly.
"Miss Choi, Miss Huh, the principal wants to meet you in the office," He said quietly over the half-filled classroom. Although, you could definitely feel one or ten gazes pricking your sides.
"Did he say why?" Yunjin replied.
"I'm afraid not, but I was told to pass the message on."
And you and Yunjin give a little glance to each other, obviously cautious, but the professor ushers you and her away from the class, from Sunoo, who had already sat at his seat.
With the hallways nearly empty now that you and her were pushed out, she turned to you with a snap of a head.
"Are we going to get suspended or something?" She mumbled, looking with wide eyes. You honestly don't know- heck, your mind was still quite cloudy with everything from last night.
The weight of the situation kind of catches up to you. What if it was about last night?
"I... do you think its about last night?" You said whilst walking with Yunjin.
She sighed, puffing her cheeks momentarily as she was buried deep in her thoughts. "It could be. But... what would he say? I mean, the police said we're free to go.."
You thought it was ludicrous to be asked again about last night. You try not to imagine the bridge you're about to cross to re-enter last night's events.
Arriving at the office, there was already a faint mutter within. Yunjin gave a polite knock and, after a few moments, the door opened for them.
Inside, Jay and Jungwon were already seated on one of the couches, bodies tensed up. Yunjin and you blink a few times before seating yourselves on the opposite side.
Oh, here it goes...
The Principal pushed back his glasses over his elderly eyes and he stands in front of his desk.
"I'm sure you're aware of what happened last night..?"
Everyone hummed in a small response and nod, staring at the principal in silence.
"And I hope you all are okay, right?"
Everyone gave a little murmur of agreement and the principal gave a sympathetic smile. He leaned on his desk, and it looked like he was searching for something to say.
"I'm sure you don't want to remember something so traumatic," The principal started, looking at you. You swallowed down the memory and looked at your fingers.
"And, since the police are investigating it, I'm happy to push this behind us."
Everyone stilled a little bit. You glanced at the principal with a hint of disbelief. You wanted to forget about it.. but you didn't expect the principal himself to throw away the key for you.
And Jungwon gave you a skeptical glance, equally as confused.
"So... you expect us to forget about it? You're telling us not to talk about it?" Jay chimed up with confusion.
The Principal sighed a little, expecting this little arrow of doubt. And he nodded in agreement. "I understand, Jongseong. But, we have a few events and festivals coming up. And I'm sure... you do not want to talk about it.."
Jay stared at the ground, pondering. And everyone considered that not talking about it was the better side of the fence. You didn't want to have that news spread around, but you also hate the paranoia that bit you when you thought about the Janitor's body.
"So, do we agree, dear students? I don't want this to affect your grades if people start bringing it up. Awkward, is it not?" The principal pressed on it even more.
Since no one protested anymore and argued internally, he nodded and smiled at everyone. Though, you know that your friends were all flooded with the same kind of bewilderment you had.
"I know it may be hard to forget. But, the police have told me everything. It's in my greatest confidence that nothing like this will happen again. So, if we are all happy here, you can go now."
When the four were walking to English, no one said anything, the conversation lingering in the air. And it bothered you greatly.
Jay huffed, gripping his backpack a little tighter and scoffed.
"Forget about it? We're just supposed to shut up about it because of the upcoming festival," Jay interjected, clearly astonished.
"Apparantly. What do you expect from Yoreun?" Yunjin uttered, walking along still.
What were you expecting? The police were investigating, they talked to the school and they also tried to reassure you and the others once again. You kept your thoughts spinning and sighed, finding the logic within all this.
"I guess I can't blame them." You said softly, changing your mind from before. Perhaps forgetting was better for you and for the school.
The others looked at you quizzically, eyes stuck on you.
"You can't blame them?" Yunjin chimed, looking forward again, an empty smile on her lips.
"I mean, I don't think I want to talk about it anyway."
Maybe it was because you didn't want the school to email parents, to email your dad that the university his daughter was going to, was being targeted by a killer. Sounded dramatic in your head, but you don't think you could find the energy to actually build a speech to give to your dad to say why you're completely fine where you were.
Jungwon could get what you meant, and he shrugged. "I guess they need their cash. And this festival is their way."
"I guess so- greedy school. How could I forget?" Jay spoke, joking a little bit.
"Still, it feels wrong to just ignore it, you know?" Yunjin said again, the weight of the situation dawning on her. It was a literal murder of someone that went to this school.
Shouldn't there be a few misses days, more police cars around the University campus? But there were no cars shielding the area- it was a normal day.
English literature was as boring as ever. As you typed on your computer and tried to concentrate, you caught a glimpse of Sunoo sneakily on his phone, scrolling through something with blaring headlines.
'Man found brutally murdered'
It caught your eye and you turned your head fully to gently nudge Sunoo. He turned in response and saw your eyes glued to the article.
With a silent exchange, he slid the phone over to you and you immediately read through, putting yourself in the memories of last night again.
It was on the news. Heck, it was trending. You recognised the road and the silent video played, showing a news reporter in front of yellow tapes and roaming officers. You felt like you were there again as you held your breath.
And a picture popped on screen, showing the Janitor's once-alive face, a smile that he once gave you when he opened the door for you.
A shudder crept up your spine as you paused the video and slid the phone back wordlessly.
As much as you wanted to forget, you don't know if you could.

"I'm not going to lie, yn, how are you in school today?" Sunoo chirped up as soon as class ended. His gaze focused on you, but they were concerned.
You shrugged, rubbing your exhausted eyes, not knowing what to rebute his statement with.
"I can't miss class."
"Yeah, but you can't just ignore what happened," He remarked, taking out the white medicine bottle out his bag before packing everything else up.
You packed up as well, and students slowly left their seats in a line. You stared, waiting and noticed Sunoo taking 2 pills this time. And you raised an eyebrow.
"2 pills?" You spoke without thinking, eyeing the white tablets. Sunoo smiled awkwardly and gave a dismissive wave.
"I haven't been sleeping well to be honest," He replied but he was neutral about it as he zipped his bag.
You nodded, letting him do what he needed before turning to the others who were lazily packing up. Your gaze went to Jungwon right next to you as he sighed, eyes focused on his bag and getting his belongings in.
With a quiet voice, you spoke.
"You okay, Jungwon?"
With a quick turn, he glanced at you and sighed, nodding. "Yeah."
He still looked deep in thought despite his clear answer.
The mood was turning heavier, clouding that positivity you were trying to hook on to. So, understandably, you try initiate a joke, you know, to smoothe out this thick gloom hanging over the friend group.
"At least no one knows you're in your hit and miss phase-."
Before you could finish the sentence, his finger collided with your forehead to give a stinging sensation at your temple. You hissed, whining as you recoiled back a little bit.
"Jungwon, what the fvck?" You snapped at him, holding your forehead as if you were hit with a stone. Though, he gave a little shrug, that look of smugness creeping in his unbothered smile.
"Stop making these stupid jokes. They're ass," he spoke, tilting his chin up and ignoring the glare you threw him.
Though, you couldn't argue for long before psychology was in about 5 minutes. So, without getting your desired revenge, you waved by to the others and walked to psychology.
How you managed to balance the two was still unknown. It took a lot of all-nighters, coffee and a dream.
Upon entering psychology, the teacher hadnt arrived, meaning you could actually settle down before the class started drilling information in.
Of course, you sat next to Minji, Heeseung and Chaewon; they sat at the back, conversing in their own little circle, particularly interested in Chaewon's phone.
"Hey, guys," You greeted them with a small smile. Minji ushered you over and so you listened, hunching over the phone to see what they were so deeply invested in.
And your heart sank a little, seeing the familiar face of the Janitor loom on the screen and your heart shook a little. Today was just not going in your favour.
Though, the other 3 were silent- even Heeseung- until the video ended and he sighed, letting out a puff of air. Minji and Chaewon have this blank look in their eyes, but Chaewon grabs your hand, tugging you to sit down.
"Have you heard about it? It's literally all over the news," Chaewon said, eyes doe in shock.
Oh girl, you have no idea, you thought.
"That's so crazy, I swear I have seen him somewhere before," Minji commented, sat back in her seat and she was dazed.
"Well yeah, the news reporter said he worked here as the Janitor." Heeseung ruffled his hair.
Your eyes were downcast for a moment before you chewed on your lower lip.
"Have you heard about it, Yn?" Heeseung chimed, focusing on your docile state.
But, you snapped out of it, ignoring the foggy thoughts in your head. "Yeah... I have heard of it. But let me tell you guys a secret."
They all turned to you, intruiged and you leaned forward, concealing the conversation to this inner circle.
"What secret?" Minji urged on, her eyes brimming with curiosity. And it seemed that Heeseung and Chaewon also leaned in.
You took a deep breath and told yourself, you could trust them.
"I was there. You know the tweets last night about how Jungwon ran over something?" You turned to Heeseung.
With a nod, he urged on, but you felt like he already knew.
"Well, it wasn't just anything. It... was him. The Janitor. We found him last night," You said slowly, hiding the tremor in your voice.
The silence hung in the air, all of them processing it but Chaewon's jaw dropped a little before she let out a forced puff of air.
"You're kidding. Are you being serious?"
"That's why you couldn't get me ice cream.." Heeseung mumbled, distraught. And Minji scowled.
"Will you shut up about the ice cream?"
"Yeah, it's kind of embarrassing considering your tweets last night," Chaewon grumbled, reminding Heeseung of his little series of grateful confessions
"Never. I was anticipating that. I didn't know that would happen," He defensively exclaimed and you gestured to him to keep the sound down.
Right now, the news didn't say who found the bodies, so you would like to keep it that way, locked away from the world.
"Yeah. We were en route to the dessert shop when... we found it. We went home straight after."
"Which is understandable. Oh my gosh, you saw a dead body... of someone who worked here..." Minji added on and she gave a little reassuring pat on the arm.
You smiled softly, hiding how your mind was still buzzing with the images of the grotesque body.
"Yeah... me and Jungwon uncovered it but..." you shuddered a little, failing to hide the shiver sweeping your body. All of them were obviously concerned but Heeseung sighed.
"Me personally, I would never think about going to dessert shops ever again," He said, eyes widening. And the girls glared at him with a slow turn onf their heads, to which he shrunk back in his seat with a guilty smile.
He didn't try to save himself, but you smiled at his comment. Because you think it's true- you would think more than twice before trying to go to a dessert shop and not expect to think of this moment.
Sighing, you patted the girls' arms and you huddled in again.
"Just... don't tell anyone. Please." You looked to them, eyes landing on Heeseung. And he nodded, as he glanced down.
"Don't worry about it."
Chaewon hugged your arm, pouting with her concern rising in her grip. "Don't worry about the death either. I'm pretty sure it's a one-time thing."
Everyone murmured in agreement, attempting to drain the tension surrounding the news. You were somewhat grateful they were trying, and it worked for a few seconds as your muscles relaxed.
"Yeah, it has to be a coincidence... we have that fundraising festival coming up. I don't think the school would want to cancel it." Heeseung reassured your composure.
"Yeah... a coincidence." You heard yourself mutter, once again sensing your own uneasiness.

A STUDY CAFÉ AFTER TWO HOURS OF CLASS WAS A BREATHER. A way for everyone to cool the foggy effect of lecture notes and the languid speech of the professor. You could have almost fallen asleep atop your laptop hadn't it been for Jungwon clearing his throat.
Jay stated that he needed to tell everyone something, so no one could resist the urge to gather together in the neat and cream-coloured, study room. The large, white table was soon littered with laptops and the recent book everyone was reading; eventually, everyone sat down.
Jay leaned forward on his elbows once he caught everyone's attention. "I was talking to Jake this morning, and guess what?"
No one spoke a word upon seeing the slight dapple of despaire on Jay's face so, he continued.
"The case where we found that dead man, may be closed, like, forever."
The heavy silence was suffocating, so many unspoken words mixing in the air as everyone stilled. Jay could have thought he was staring at a paused video until Yunjin scoffed, brows buried deep downwards, reflecting yours and Jungwon's reaction.
"You must be kidding," she said quietly as she crossed her arms and quelled the silence. The unpleasant news forced your eyes to wander anywhere but Jay, rocks of anxiety anchoring your mind down. Jungwon remained silent.
"Yeah, I'm not kidding," Jay declared once more to everyone's dismay, gazing back at his lit laptop.
Jay continued to explain that in the whirlwind of the murder case, the route to who the culprit is was hidden by too many obstacles that the police didn't know how to tackle: no footprints, no cameras and no witnesses. It was a dead end.
Scaring yourself was not an option, so you tried desperately to subdue that train of thought and grasp at anything logical despite your own intuition.
"Well, if they closed down the case, I guess, they tried to take everyone's interest at heart." You fiddled with your pen, flicking it vigorously to-and-fro as silence pervaded the study room once more.
"It's just strange. They couldn't find... anything?" Jungwon urged Jay, confusion entangled in his tone. Uncertain, his friend let out a shaky sigh.
"It's probably nothing, as Yn said. Maybe it is genuinely not a threat to us or the university," Jay insisted, trying to put confidence in your weak excuse. Not much was said as Yunjin shrugged, languid.
"I guess so. Whatever. I'm done with that shit. Let's just work," Yunjin announced with a new determination, swerving away from the morose topic and onto becoming academic weapons for the rest of the semester.
Everyone agreed and dived into their work. Ten minutes passed and Jungwon decided to call his good classmate for the upcoming film project. Through the screen, he saw Taehyun's boba eyes and the profuse blinks to make sure the actual facetime was working.
Jungwon wasn't looking but he swiped a hand through his hair and allowed Taehyun to catch a glimpse of Jungwon's meticulously clean nails. Taehyun snickered, causing Jungwon to incredulously raise an eyebrow to the other.
"What are you laughing at?" Jungwon asked, bewildered. Taehyun waved a dismssive hand, clearly trying to conceal his humour. Upon seeing Jungwon's unyielding expression, he finally gave in.
"No - I just saw your nails and they look pretty. Are you going to do them again," Taehyun chimed with mischief, making you, Yunjin and Jay chuckle a little under your breaths. Only Jungwon forlornly crossed his arms and directed his glare at the latter on the screen.
"Seriously?"
Within a second, Taehyun's smile dropped and nodded with a deadpan expression. "Yes."
Whilst you and the others were laughing at the comical situation, Jungwon found it far from that; irritated, his frown remained as he pulled up the page for the assignment.

Days passed and you were walking along with Minji, Chaewon and Heeseung. Psychology class evoked a session of inevitable ranting that everyone thoroughly required. It was a routine to go through.
The front area of the school was where you and the others were headed, the breeze brushing through your locks; it was a refreshing way to liberate the clouding information from the unpleasant lectures.
More booths and kiosks littered the place, colours displayed from the banners hung meticulously on the stands. Each one delivering the name of the club and the unavoidable prices to capitvate the future customers.
You walked longside Chaewon until you reached the wooden table that was occupied by Yunjin, Jay and Jungwon. Apart from your friends, there were definitely more people out there - more near the platform resembling the stage. Your gaze was not stuck there for long to see who was on it, but you were drawn back to Yunjin and Chaewon squealing in delight.
You stood beside Minji and observed them fussing, a small speck of apprehension seeping into their faces from the way Yunjin ran a hand through her hair.
"I cannot believe we get to dance at the festival, Chae."
"You're dancing as well and I didn't know?" you exclaimed to the blonde girl, your jaw dropped. Chaewon nodded with a modest smile.
"Yeah, Yunjin and I dance with some other girls," She said and was accompanied with an enthusiastic nod from Yunjin. Crossing your arms, you sent a cheeky smile to Chaewon.
"I didn't know you dance."
Chaewon shrugged, almost innocently with her eyes morphing into cheerful crescents when she grinned - as if she didn't know what you were even talking about. "I thought I said so."
On the other hand, Jay placed his phone down with a knowing smile when he glanced ateveryone. Heeseung, sitting opposite him, grimaced at the expression Jay had.
"Why are you smiling like that?" Heeseung asked, disgruntled. A glare was all that Jay delivered to the latter.
"Well, I am also expressing my excitement since I'm also dancing - but with a dude called 'K'," Jay explained with excitement tainting his voice. The name threw everyone, but Chaewon and Yunjin, off.
"K?" you uttered, not even burying the incredulity that crept up your tone. Even Heeseung tilted his head, but Jay dsmissively waved his hand.
"I wasn't the one that named him - anyway, it's short and snappy."
"Yeah - in text," Heeseung remarked with a snort, resulting a terse slap in the back of the head by Minji. A yelp slipped past his lips as he pacified the slight pang in his skull.
"Ow, what the fvck?"
When the conversation reached its end and everyone was about to art their ways, a static screech washed over the entirety of the courtyard. Everyone curtly halted, heads turning, and a wince escaped your lips.
The source was at the stage, the speakers blaring a man's voice; the male figure had black-rimmed glasses, jet-black hair brushed in a tiny man bun and brown eyes that held this hollow calmness in them. When you scanned over his features more, you discovered he was middle-aged and he was flanked by some other people behind him. There was this unnerving, small smile he had that disrupted the serene waves of thoughts within you.
The man patted the mic softly and soft bass sounds followed after it, catching the attention of everyone there. You couldn't look away now that the uncertainty simmered in your stomach.
Who the fvck was this?
As if the man heard your inner monologue, his voice dispersed from the speakers.
"Hello. You are probably wondering who I am. I want to introduce myself as Moon Minseok, the sponsor of the school."
Those eyes that were roaming from booth to booth landed on you and the others. No words were exchanged but everyone acknowledged the dubious shiver prowling down everyone's spine.
It forced you to swiftly divert your gaze into something that was not worthy of attention - much like everyone else. You tried to drown out the remnants of the speech.
You don't even know when the speech ended, but you and Jungwon departed ways together to get to the gardening booth. Danielle was already there and directed you to simply tag the prices to each gardening product before she also sauntered away.
It was easy enough.
So, you and Jungwon found yourselves sitting in the comfortable silence, the subtle breeze caressing yours and his clothes whilst the sunlight feebly seeped through the thick blankets of clouds.
The little cactuses and ferns were adorably small, the plastic wrapped around it in a way that didn't bend their leaves or figures. You couldn't help but smile at the miniature, clay pots.
It was almost calming in a way until a multitude of nefarious footsteps approched the gardening booth, making you and Jungwon curiously glance up.
There was clear tension in your muscles when those empty eyes, of none other than Minseok, landed on you and Jungwon. Behind him, the same people flanked him, tablets in their hands, and the principal also accompanying him. The headmaster looked as if he was carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders.
It appeared amusing to you, but you didn't react and, instead, gave a short glance to Jungwon, who also gave a sceptical look back.
With the oncoming footsteps, you and Jungwon politely bowed despite the clear tension pervading the air. It was almost difficult to even make eye contact.
Minseok had a confident gait, each step on the grounds of campus made his; this mellow smile curved onto his lips whilst he had his hands behind his back. His eyes possessed that icy calmness that made your voice dig back into your throat.
"The gardening club," the principal spoke, gesturing to you and Jungwon awkwardly standing there behind the table full of tagged garden products.
You didn't want to speak, neither did Jungwon. Both you and him had your thoughts drifitng into space. Realising you were just tentatively staring, you captured the wandering thoughts and brought yourself back to reality.
"Um... hello," you uttered, voice coming out much quieter than you wanted. Jungwon was about to give you a relentless side-eye but Minseok stepped forward and ran his gaze over the various assortments of petite plants commonly grown within the university.
The silence seemed to disturb the principal a lot more, the nervousness dissolving into his face; he shifted in his place, hands rubbing over the knuckles of his other. Maybe he was sweating if you observed closely enough to the crown of his head.
Minseok met your eyes in a second and you swear your heartbeat spiked up, clutching your vocal chords and forcing you to just awkwardly smile. You had the fierce urge to run away.
"My mother would love these. These are lovely," he began to say. There was a insincere smile in your smile, but he didn't need to know that. Shrewd, Jungwon fiddled with the sleeves of his hoodie, nails digging into the plush fabric.
"She has good taste in plants," you stated whilst your own gaze ran over the green stems and the soil. Minseok gave a small, humoured laugh.
"She had good taste," he corrected you and immediately sending heat to flood your cheeks and neck. You could tell the principal was probably itching to take Minseok away from your clumsy obliviousness.
"I'm so sorry," you mumbled, bowing in slight apology. You just wanted the eart to swallow you up. Minseok shook his head as if it was nothing serious, and smiled with that tranquil expression again.
"It's fine, she can't hear us, " he responded with mirth to your humiliated state. Jungwon could have scoffed to your mistake, but his muscles were too frozen with tension to even move. And, he didn't know why.
After Minseo recieved silence from you, he picked up one of the plastic-wrapped plants. "She was a lovely woman. She tended to her garden, decorating the house with ridiculous kinds. It's endearing now since she is now buried with them."
It was a depressing conversation so much so that you were holding a breath as Jungwon gave a subtle side-eye.
"I learned from that moment that people must treasure what they have. You may lose the," Minseok added on, gaze flickering to Jungwon. Following his gaze briefly, you noticed the way Jungwon's eyes darted nervously, jaw slightly clenched.
You didn't have the time to ask if he was okay since Minseok dug a hand into his pocket and pulled out some notes to hand it to you. It was a little daunting, and you didn't know whether to take it since he was offering money that was worth more than what was displayed on the small plant.
From the corner of your eye, the principal gesticulated that you should take it. Not wanting to embarrass yourself anymore, you gave a small smile before taking the money.
"Keep the change," he said, holding the plant.
"Thank you," you murmured, to which Minseok curled his smile a little more, eyes scanning over your features as if he was trying to grasp something off it.
The brief silence was cut off when one of his advisors sauntered to Minseok, a ringing phone in hand. Minseok's gaze faltered before he gave a courteous nod to you, a brief glance to Jungwon and taking the advisor's phone. Then, like the wind, he walked away with the principal.
When they were far enough, you looked to the 10,000 won worth of notes. It was a simple interaction but enough to leave you still drifting in your thoughts. Curious, you glanced to Jungwon, who was still frozen.
You wondered if he was even breathing.
"Jungwon?" you nudged his elbow a little, causing him to flinch and look down at you. The brief discomfort stayed rooted in his eyes, jaw still clenched.
This time, you wrapped your fingers gently around his forearm to nudge him again with bewilderment. "You okay?"
Jungon snapped out of the foggy daze and nodded. A deep breath escaped him, shoulders sagging finally and discomfort melting away when he registered the soft grip of your hand.
"Yeah, I'm fine. He just seems a little... odd, don't you think?"
The return of his voice did addle you a little, but you didn't dare mention it, not wanting to ignite whatever worry was just extinguished. Your hand stopped holding his forearm.
"Yeah," you agreed, seeing Minseok and the principal in the far distance, "I think so too."

enha maknae line sleeping on your boobs or ass?
i knew y'all weren't gonna let me get away w not doing this last time.
Sunoo:
Sunoo is the type to be more boob than ass, so in a non sexual way, he likes to touch your boobs. Whenever he has you on his lap, his hands are naturally beneath your shirt, gently squeezing your tits. Whenever he can find you laying on your back (which is rare) he takes the opportunity to lay his head on your chest, eventually falling asleep in the comfortable position. You like when he does this because you get to stare at his pretty features and play with his hair.
Jungwon:
Jungwon seems like the ass type. He's very playful and energetic so he'll randomly rush past you, making sure to tap your ass in the process. If he catches you laying down, he's straddling your thighs and just messing with you. His hands are on your ass, slapping it gently or even just shaking it to make it jiggle. He's always giggling over it. On occasion, he's resting his head on your ass while watching the TV in your shared bedroom. You'd ask him to move after awhile because you had to pee, but he's actually asleep, so you chuckle, deciding to postpone your trip to the bathroom.
Riki:
Riki seems like a boob guy. On occasion he'll slap your ass, but it's mostly just to fuck around. He really likes to cup your breasts when he back hugs you, pressing soft kisses to your head. He likes to slide his hands under your shirt whenever you kiss, touching your chest in a non sexual way. It's simply the most comfortable way for him to hold you. Whenever you complain that you're cold, he's immediately there to cuddle you, his long legs tangling with yours and his arms wrapped around your waist. His head is planted right on your chest nuzzling softly against you as you plant kisses on his head, playing with his messy head of hair. He falls asleep almost instant this way.

Third Person POV~
"Baby, can you just calm down!? You're always so quick to get upset when I can't even explain!" Jungwon yells, growing frustrated with you after spending almost thirty minutes trying to get through to you.
You were upset because you went to dinner with his parents just a few hours ago, and he didn't say anything to defend you when his mom tried to ridicule you.
You felt that you had every right to be upset, and Jungwon wasn't listening to anything you had to say. "Jungwon, I don't wanna calm down! And I don't wanna hear your excuses either!"
"Excuses?! Y/n, you know I would never just let my mom talk shit to you like that!" He yelled again, and this time you sighed, finally sitting down on the couch, exhausted from tonights events.
"Then why wouldn't you defend me? I would never let my mom talk shit about you or try to talk down to you." Your tone is much lower now, wanting to be more understanding rather than being confrontational.
Jungwon sits beside you, taking your hands in his. "Baby.. We both know how my mother acts in certain situations.. I just didn't wanna make a scene. But when you stepped away to go to the restroom, I spoke to her.. I don't like when she talks to you that way either.." He explains, running his thumbs along your knuckles as he drops his gaze. "Maybe I should've said something right away, but I just didn't wanna ruin the night."
Now you feel bad. You should've known that Jungwon wasn't just gonna leave things alone. He cares about you a lot, and he's always been protective of you.
"I'm sorry I yelled at you, baby.." You apologize, squeezing his hands as Jungwon smiles softly. "It's okay, love.. I know you were just upset. Next time I'll defend you better.."
You smile hugging him as you pull back to kiss him, cupping his cheeks gently. He kisses back with an equal sentiment, his hands finding purchase on your waist.
"Now.. How about we change into our pajamas and watch a rom-com together?.."

Third Person POV~
For as long as you can remember, you've been friends with Jungwon. He's always been an important person in your life. So much so that you can't remember life without him or even imagine life without him.
He feels the same, you guys are attached at the hip and nothing could ever sever your connection.
Everyday is spent the same way. You guys meet up at school, and you have almost all your classes together. You always sit beside each other too, so people are convinced you two are secretly dating.
Every accusation is met with a simple "I'd never date him.." or a blatant "We're just friends." but sometimes you even question your closeness to the boy.
"Jungwon, are you coming over after school?" You ask, leaning against your locker as he goes through his. He closes it after grabbing his needed book. "I don't know.. My mom says she'll ground me if I don't study."
"We can study at my house." You pout and he smiles, pinching your cheek. "We both know that we don't get anything done when we study together. You'll just have to miss me today.."
The rest of the day, you're bored.. It's like being with Jungwon so much makes you blind to how little friends you actually have. He's always been everything for you...
Surprisingly, he comes to your house anyway after studying for a couple hours at home, and you immediately get so excited.
"Hey, remember how you still owe me for the homework I let you copy." You remind as he sighs. "What do you want?.. Wanna use me as a makeup dummy again?" He asks as you nod, getting off your bed and pulling him to sit on the stool at your vanity.
"I wanna try a makeup look for school tomorrow.. If it looks bad on you I won't do it.. If it looks good I'll wear it to school." You explain as he nodded. "Okay, just get it over with."
You start on his makeup, quickly realizing that your hands aren't as steady when you aren't sitting down. He notices and simply pats his lap. "Come on.." You're hesitant at first, but then you straddle his lap, focusing on doing his makeup.
Jungwon is forced to stare at you, your eyes, lips.. The way your hair frames your face is perfect too.. He loves being around you..
"You're making me nervous.. Stop staring." You blush, playfully slapping his chest as he laughs. "Sorry.. I was just admiring you.."
Your heart beats slightly faster at his words, cheeks flushing a deeper pink as you tried to ignore him. He can feel you shifting every second or so to keep yourself from sliding off his lap, so he puts his hands on your hips, trying to keep himself from reacting. You tense at the action.
"What are you doing?.." You ask as he chuckles nervously. "Oh, uh.. You were moving a lot and I figured it's because you were sliding off.. I just wanted to keep you still.." You simply nod, trying to ignore the slight fluttering feeling in your abdomen.
You're close to finishing Jungwon's makeup, starting on the lips, you sharpen your lip liner, cupping his jaw as you tug him closer, his face only a few inches from yours.
He decides to close his eyes to make it less awkward, but it only gets your imagination running. You're thinking of things you shouldn't be thinking of, things that you don't usually think about your best friend, but you can't help it. Sometimes it gets confusing, your relationship with Jungwon.
You didn't realize you had zoned out until Jungwon squeezed your hips. "You okay?.." He asks as you nod. "Sorry.. I was thinking about a different lip liner.."
"Did you wanna grab it?" He questions as you shake your head. "No this one is fine.." You cup his jaw again, leaning closer as you begin to line his lips. You can feel his chest rise and fall.. You can feel his hands grow slightly tighter on your hips.. You can feel his heart beat, and it's louder than your own.
You're wondering if he's thinking the same way you're thinking.. Feeling the way you're feeling.. But then again, you don't know how you feel.. Jungwon is your best friend.. You've never seen him as more than that, but you also can't live without him.. You miss him when he's away, and you can't go a day without at least calling or texting him when you don't get to see him.
The two of you can cuddle and hold hands shamelessly, give each other friendly kisses on the cheek and sometimes on the lips depending on the situation, and you know that he's your soulmate.
But then there's this anxiety that keeps your feelings in a complex.. Does Jungwon think of you the same way you think of him?.. You can't even sort out your thoughts towards Jungwon, but you hope he at least cherishes you the same way do cherish him.
You finish lining his lips, filling it in with one of your lip glosses as you smile. "All done.." You show him his reflection in the mirror and he smiles. "You should definitely do your makeup like this tomorrow.."
You nod in agreement, grabbing your makeup wipes as you begin to wipe the makeup off of his face. You start with the base, then you take off the makeup around his eyes, being sure to be gentle. Finally you clean off his lips.
"I can still taste the lip gloss.." He chuckles as you smile. "I don't remember it having a flavor." You mumble as he shrugs, pressing a short kiss to your lips. "Doesn't it taste like strawberries?.."
You're too stunned to even think about the taste so you just nod. That's not the first time you've kissed Jungwon, but why did it erupt such emotion in you this time?.. Why did it make you mad to imagine him being this close with and kissing a different girl?
You finish cleaning off his makeup. Letting him wash his face and use your moisturizer before the two of you layed down on your bed, simply staring at the ceiling.
"Won?.." You call as he hums, turning to glance at you. "What are we?..." He goes quiet after your question, but then he grabs your hand, squeezing it gently. "We're us.. And we'll continue to be us for the rest of our lives together.."

Third Person POV~
"Hey, Y/n... Do you maybe wanna hang out later?.." Jungwon asks, wrapping his arms around you as you finish up washing the dishes. "Sorry, baby.. Jay is back in town for the week so he asked me to hang out with him so we could catch up." You respond as he pouts. "Then tomorrow?.."
You sigh, turning off the tap and drying your hands before turning to face Jungwon. "Tomorrow I'm supposed to go visit his mom. I haven't seen her in three years... I promise we'll hang out the day after." You answer as he nods. "Okay.. I'll just ask Sunoo if he wants to hang out.."
You smile, giving him a quick kiss. "I have to go get dressed.. Sorry I couldn't go out with you today.." You mumble as he nods. "It's fine.. Have fun."
You then head upstairs, showering, doing your hair, and getting dressed before slipping into your most comfortable sneakers.
After making sure you had everything you needed, you made your way downstairs. Jungwon had just walked out of the kitchen. "You look so pretty, but you're wearing jeans?" He questions, knowing you hate wearing jeans, and you nod. "Yeah, I only wear skirts when I'm out with you.. They're usually pretty short, so I don't wanna risk anyone who isn't you trying to get an eyeful."
He nods at your explanation. "Okay.. Are these at least comfortable for you? They wont feel too tight after you eat?" He asks as you nod. "I'm fine, they're comfortable.. Now I gotta go, bye Jungwon."
You kiss his cheek before grabbing your keys and leaving the house. As soon as he hears the lock click he lets out the biggest sigh.
Within the next thirty minutes, Sunoo comes over and now he's forced to listen to all of Jungwon's complaining.
"Jungwon, it's not that serious.. She's known him since they were in diapers damn near. If they were anything more than friends, you would've never had a chance." Sunoo explains as Jungwon groans. "I'm not that stupid, Sunoo. I know she wouldn't cheat on me.. I'm just jealous because whenever he comes to visit, she gives him all her attention."
Sunoo nods. "I guess so, but you have her attention all the time, right?" He asks and Jungwon sighs. "Who's side are you on?"
Sunoo only laughs in response. "I'm on logic's side, let's just have fun for now."
Meanwhile, you had just met up with Jay at a cafe that you two used to study and hang out at all the time. He's already ordered you a drink, so you sit across from him.
"It's good to see you.." He smiles as you nod. "I know, it always feels like it's been forever. We need to see each other more than once a year."
You two spend time catching up, talking about work and just life in general. Eventually he asks about Jungwon. "So, how's your boyfriend?" He questions as you smile, beaming at the thought alone of Jungwon. "He's great.. I love him so much."
Jay smiles at your happiness. "I have something to tell you." You can tell by his dopey smile that he has good news, so you gesture for him to keep speaking. "I have a girlfriend..."
You light up at the news, reaching over the table to grab his hand excitedly. "Oh my god tell me all about her!"
He tells you everything from how he met her down to how they got together. It's all so endearing to hear since you know how badly his last relationship ended.
After talking for over an hour about life, you both went to an arcade together, playing all the games you used to, except you got to win this time.
When your hangout finally came to an end, you parted your ways, planning to see each other around the same time tomorrow.
You got home at around 5pm, ready to see your boyfriend after thinking about what he was up to all day.
"Jungwon, I'm back." You stepped out of your shoes, setting your keys and your bag down as you walked into the living room.
Sunoo was sitting on the arm chair, and Jungwon was asleep on the couch. Some random movie was playing in the background.
"Hey, Sun." You smile as he waves. "Hey, how was your hang out with Jay?" He asks as you hum. "It was fun. How was your hang out with Jungwon?" You question, moving around the couch to ruffle your sleeping boyfriend's hair.
"It was good, he was complaining for the first hour though." He replied as you nodded. "Sounds about right."
Sunoo decides that he's gonna go home, saying goodbye before leaving. You wake Jungwon up and he's immediately clinging to you. "I missed you.." He pouts, burying his face in the crook of your neck. You chuckle, kissing his temple. "I missed you too.. Let's order something to eat, hm?"
The next day, you're up earlier, because Jay called and said his mom wanted to meet for a late breakfast, early lunch. You agreed simply because you didn't wanna inconvenience his mother.
Jungwon was still sleep when you finished getting ready, so you sat beside him on the bed, shaking him gently. "Jungwon.. Wake up."
He stirs, humming as he wraps his arms around your waist. "Where are you going?.." He mumbles with a pout in his tone. You ruffle his hair. "I'm going to brunch with Jay and his mom.. I'll see you later.."
He nods, kissing your cheek before burying his head into his pillow. You get up, patting his back before leaving.
Your day is spent hanging out with Jay, and catching up with his mother. She tells you about how happy she is that her son is finally in a new relationship, and how she hopes this one ends in marriage.
You're happy to see Jay beaming whenever he talks about his girlfriend, similar to the way he watches you smile whenever you talk about Jungwon.
You end up spending much more time than usual hanging out with Jay, and when you finally get home, it's around 8pm.
You look for Jungwon, not finding him in the kitchen, or the living room.
You know he usually doesn't sleep this early, but you check the bedroom anyway, and surely there's a Jungwon shaped lump beneath your covers.
You kick off your shoes, dropping your jacket somewhere along the way as you climb onto the bed, pulling the covers off of his head. "I'm back, baby.." You leaned down to kiss his cheek, pushing his hair out of his face.
He didn't seem too thrilled to see you. "Wonnie.. What's wrong?" You question as he sighs. "You've been gone all day... I've just been here by myself.. All the while you're hanging out with Jay.." He pouts, turning over to look at you. You frown, leaning against the headboard. "Jungwon.. You know it's not like that.. It's been almost a year since I last saw him.. We just wanted to catch up.." You explained for what seemed like the thousandth time since you first introduced Jungwon to Jay.
He had always gotten jealous, but you thought things were different now. You'd been with Jungwon for almost three years now after all. It seems that he still isn't too fond of your relationship with Jay.
"I just.. I wish I knew you like he did.. He's known you since you were a kid... He has so many memories to share with you, and I hardly just found out that you used to dream of being a famous pianist when you were a kid.. I know I shouldn't, but I get jealous.." He explains, avoiding your eyes as you take his hands in yours.
"I understand.. I know Jay and I are close, but I promise you.. You know me in ways Jay couldn't even imagine.. You know how I kiss, my love language, the playlist I listen to when I shower, and even every step of my skincare routine in order.. You're my boyfriend.. Jay could never beat that.." Jungwon sits up, smiling at your words as he hugs you. "I'm sorry.. I didn't mean to make you feel bad about it.." He mumbles in your ear, pulling back to kiss your forehead.
You smile brightly at him. "It's okay to be jealous.. I can't imagine how you must feel seeing your girlfriend be close to another guy.. I'm glad that you trust me though.."
He nods, pinching your cheek. "I try not to be to controlling.. Otherwise you would leave me for someone else.."
You chuckle in response. "You know what, next time he said he'd bring his girlfriend so I could meet her.. I'll bring you too and we could have a double date.." You say excitedly as Jungwon nods, planting a sweet kiss to your lips.
"That sounds great, baby.."

Third Person POV~
"Jungwon, you're cancelling for tomorrow?" You question, disappointed that he's not coming to this art exhibition that you spent hours trying to get tickets to. He nodded with a sigh. "My group asked to meet for our project tomorrow at the same time. If I don't show they'll leave me out of everything.. Sorry, Y/n.."
"It's whatever.. I just won't go." You huff, walking away from him as he sighs. "You can just take someone else." You roll your eyes at the suggestion. "Jungwon, I can't ask someone to come with me on such short notice. I wanted to go with you." You respond.
"So you'd rather not go at all than go by yourself?" He asks as you nod. "Precisely." You realitate sarcastically and Jungwon sighs. "I told you I was sorry, Y/n.."
You ignore him, heading to your room and slamming the door. He sighs, deciding to just ignore it in hopes that you'd get over it.
The next day, you wake up and Jungwon is already gone. Your day is officially ruined, so you have no idea what to do with yourself now.
You're beyond frustrated with Jungwon to the point that you wish he wasn't your roommate and you could avoid him forever.
But of course you'd hate to stop seeing him everyday. Over the past few weeks, you've gotten more and more enamored with Jungwon, and your feelings towards him. Only, you're scared to admit it.
Most of your day was spent lazing around at home, hardly eating, and just thinking about the exhibition.
You soon get a text from a friend, asking if you wanna go out for drinks. You decide that it's better than staying at home in misery, so you say yes.
You get ready to go out, wearing some showy outfit, and doing your hair and makeup.
Your friend picks you up and then the rest is history.
Jungwon though, he felt terrible the whole time he was out, he hated that he couldn't be with you and go to the exhibition. Rather than staying even later, he left the group, promising to work on his portion of the project.
When he got home though, you were gone. He called, texted, but no answer. It wasn't until a knock sounded at the door that he realized where you went.
Your friend was struggling to hold you up when he opened the door, and you were clearly drunk. Jungwon sighed at the sight of you, taking you from you friend and holding you upright.
He thanks your friend for bringing you home before closing the door.
"Y/n.. What's up with you? You never drink this much." He drags you towards the couch, laying you down as he sighs. "What's gotten into you?.."
You immediately cling onto Jungwon, pulling him onto the couch with you as he obliges, fixing to cuddle up behind you, his arm wrapped loosely around your waist.
He's never seen you this way, and it's a very vulnerable position for you to be in. He's conflicted and he almost feels as if he's over stepping his boundaries at the moment, but he's sure you wouldn't mind too much. Especially not in this state.
"I hate you..." You mumble, and Jungwon raises an eyebrow, humming in response. "You hate me?..."
You nod sloppily. "Why do you never prioritize me?.. Am I not important to you?.." Your words are slightly slurred and jumbled together, but he understands your sentiment.
"You're very important to me.. Sorry I don't prioritize you all the time.." He apologizes as you nod. "Do I have to be your girlfriend for you to prioritize me?.." You ask as he sighs. "Y/n?.."
"I like you, Jungwon... A lot.." You divulge inattentively, and Jungwon's eyes go wide. He's not entirely shocked, but he's still perplexed at your confession.
He's always had a special feeling towards you. And even though he's known his feelings for years, he's chosen to rely on familiarity, not wanting to lose you as his closest friend. But now that you've confessed your feelings.. He should be able to share his too. Right?
And he does. He tightens his grip on your waist, tugging you closer as he nuzzles into your hair. "I like you too- matter of fact... I love you... I can't live without you, and you're so important to me.. Don't every think that you aren't.. We're soulmates and I wanna keep living with you til we die.. I know you probably wont remember all of this tomorrow, but I said it, and I mean it..."
At his words you perk up slightly, humming in content as you nuzzle against him.
"I have it on voice memo so I can play it back if I forget." You hold up your phone, smiling stupidly as Jungwon laughs. "You're something else.."
You smile, turning over to face him, cupping his cheeks. "I love you too, Jungwon.. Please don't ever leave me.."
He smiles, pressing a soft kiss to your lips. "I promise I won't.. You're stuck with me til we're grey and old.."

POV ⸺ YANG JUNGWON

genres! fluff, song fic, established relationship
word count! 489
playlist! pov by ariana grande
mimi’s note! the first paragraph is inspired by a post i read on here a while back but i don’t remember the user

Yang Jungwon isn’t the kind of person to love halfheartedly, he’ll give you everything he has: his heart, his body, his mind, his soul. There’s nothing he wouldn’t do, wouldn’t lose, wouldn’t trade or give for you and it’s this unspoken rule, this ubiquitous notion that his love for you was wholehearted and unconditional.
With Jungwon you were receiving the kind of love you dreamt of as a little girl, gifting you small trinkets that reminded him of you, always making time for you despite his busy schedule, taking on the task of doing a chore he knows you hate, handwritten love letters, giving you genuine compliments—not out of obligation but because he truly admires you, holding you in his arms as he rubs your back in hopes to melt away your stress, slow dancing in ungodly hours of the night, coming home with your favorite drink and snacks if he was out too long as a show of appreciation for being so patient and understanding with him, invariably putting you first no matter the consequences he would face afterwards because your safety and comfort is his main priority.
He was the kind of lover to unknowingly fulfill those romantic scenarios in your head you never thought would come true, his every word and every action never failing to envelop you in his deepest affections.
Loving came easy with him, never needing arguments or stimuli to keep the passion alive. A “We’ll figure this out together” kind of love, an “Are you okay? Wanna talk about it?” love, an “Let me take care of that for you” love.
He knew you better than you knew yourself at times, the way his gentle yet perceptive eyes always see right through you as though you’re made of glass, never being able to keep anything from him, he was your peace, the way his presence alone could offer you a sense of tranquility, he was your confidant, the way your lips could only admit the thoughts you didn’t want to acknowledge to his unjudgemental ears.
You weren’t quite used to all this yet, having rotten luck in past relationships had wholly convinced you love like this was simply not written in the stars for you, or worse, maybe you were not deserving of this love, but somewhere along the way Jungwon must have realigned those luminous points in the night sky because you were learning differently now, because of Jungwon you’ve learned to love yourself, be grateful for yourself, to trust yourself, be gentle and kind towards yourself like he is. You were learning to see yourself from his point of view.
Relationships can be scary and being with the right person didn’t mean it would be any less frightening but rather it would make you braver to face the daunting parts because you know you have each other, so even though you were scared you were gonna love him anyway.

THEORY OF LOVE ⸺ YANG JUNGWON

genre! fluff, inspired by this article
word count! 679
synopsis! in which jungwon ponders the theory of love on a morning bus ride but his only conclusion is you

How many times can you fall in love?
While there’s no universal answer, most people believe in the three loves theory, you know, the one that says we all experience three great loves in our lifetime.
Now it's been said each one is for a specific reason, the first love, this is the love that plants the seed in the soil of your heart for all your other loves to sprout. It's the idealistic love—the one that seems like it's straight out of a generic Disney movie.
It's appealing to the eyes and we dive in head-first with the belief that this is the only love we’ll ever love, we believe this is what love is supposed to be—what it's supposed to look like—feel like but sadly some lovers do not make it through the storm we call truth, because contrary to popular belief, love is not always so amicable.
The second love, this is the love that teaches us to water our still-growing plant, bury it in rich soil, and make sure it gets lots of sunlight. This is where we learn lessons about who we are and what we need to be loved and to love others.
Similar to a carnival ride, it has its highs and lows, and like an adrenaline-rushed child at the highest point of the roller coaster, we stay in this relationship through the lows with the expectation of that sweet release of dopamine when we reach the highs, but alas it comes to a bittersweet end.
The third love, this is the love in full bloom. The love you never saw coming and it comes so easily and naturally that we question if it's too good to be true.
It takes you by surprise, knocks you off your feet, and shakes you to your core. Shatters your preconceived notions of love and becomes something that is uniquely your own. The love that keeps knocking at your door no matter how long it takes for you to answer.
But the question remains, just how many times can you fall in love?
Well, for Yang Jungwon, he'd have to say infinity, because truth be told, he fell in love with you every second of every day.
He loved you in all the ways you could possibly love a person.
Just like now as he watches you fix his tie on the city bus that he struggled with for a solid five minutes until you finally turned around, mumbling how he was giving you second-hand embarrassment, your fingers skillfully fastening the satin black fabric.
The golden glow of the early morning sun seeps through the squared windows, enshrouding all passengers in what can only be described as a heavenly luminosity, his brown eyes turn into bright pools of honey when you finally meet his gaze, his lips curved in a soft smile.
You eye him suspiciously, “What?”
I'm in love you with you. He thinks.
Before Jungwon can speak the bus comes to a stop pulling your full attention away from him, “This is our stop, come on.”
He says nothing but feels everything when you take his hand in your own as you pile out of the bus along with a few other passengers.
The crisp air nips at his skin, leaving a slight red blush on the pale complexion of his cheeks and the tip of his nose.
A mass of white blossoms tinged with pink sprinkled down along the cement pathway as you walked alongside him, the soft petals landing in your hair and he had to resist the urge to pluck them out for you although a part of him thought you looked pretty like that.
“Oh!” you look at him suddenly as if you had just remembered something. “What were you gonna say earlier?”
He stops in his tracks, looking down at you.
I'm in love with you.
He smiles with a shrug, “I forgot.”
Jungwon’s not stupid, he knows why you're asking, it's because you want to hear him say it, but he's not quite done teasing you yet.
