Feeling Flirty - Tumblr Posts
Oh gosh.
Umm…
Well, this was weird. Smack dab in the middle of a neighborhood BBQ, Brad and Chris’s neighbor Luke couldn’t remember if he was drunk or flirting.
Those were separate things correct? Work from home did have its drawbacks.

For @eclaire-and-pocky 🥳
(because I swear I'm still working on your story! It's just that drabbles are so much more achievable at the moment!)

"What are you doing?" Faye asked, puffing lazily on a cigarette as she leaned against the countertop in the kitchen.
"Peeling carrots, what does it look like?" Jet frowned at her. "Seems like you haven't eaten enough of these - they're supposed to be good for eyesight you know."
Faye gave an exaggerated eye roll. "I meant why are you peeling them like that? You're just scraping away."
"A general rule of thumb for the kitchen is to never wield a knife in your own direction, Faye." Jet replied in a lecturing voice.
"First off, that's a vegetable peeler and not a knife. Secondly, you're wasting time doing it that way. Here, lemme show you." Without waiting for his acquiescence, Faye put her cigarette between her lips and knocked shoulders with Jet as she yanked the tool and the carrot out of his hands.
Still puffing on the cigarette she gestured with the objects in her hand as if to say, 'See the peeler? See the carrot?' After shaking them both in his face, she brought the peeler to the rough side of the carrot and began moving the kitchen implement from base to tip of the vegetable and then reversed course once it became too narrow. Back and forth she swept the peeler making quick work of getting rid of the outermost layer. After doing the majority of the main portion, she easily slid the tool along the tip several times going away from her body and neatly avoided the fingertips of the hand she was holding the carrot with.
Handing back the peeler and carrot, she grinned around her cigarette at Jet's dumbfounded expression. Using her right hand, which she'd wielded the peeler with and therefore hadn't stained orange from the carrot itself, she took the cigarette from her mouth and took a breath.
"See how quick that was? Back and forth, ya goober, that's the way to work it."
Ignoring the obvious lead-in to a gutter level response, Jet tossed the carrot into the pile he'd made and grabbed a new one to employ Faye's method upon.
"Where'd you learn that trick?"
"Dunno." She shrugged and reached over to the pile to reclaim the carrot she'd peeled. "Think it was something from my youth. I feel like... Maybe lessons with my mom? Maybe a nanny or cook? I can almost remember a face..." Crunching into the carrot, Faye shrugged again as she stubbed out her cigarette in the ashtray on a nearby shelf and swallowed the bite of vegetable. "What matters is... Now you know. And maybe now we'll get to have dinner at a decent hour. And if you liked that trick..." Here she brought the carrot to her mouth again, putting the bitten-off tip to her lips and rolling it gently side to side. "I've got a few more things I could show you about handling something... just... like... this..." Popping the carrot into her mouth like a cigar, she gave him a wink as she sauntered away, leaving Jet to stare incredulously after her.
