Just finished Girl In Pieces. Very good book, 10/10 read. So in celebration of finally finishing the book, this is my list of how the Batfamily felt after reading it and if they would or wouldnât enjoy it (Iâm probably wrong).
Alfred: Thinks itâs way too mature for younger audiences and didnât enjoy it. Understood it but it wasnât his cup of tea.
Bruce: Was always very open to any type of book and it mightâve not been his style but he liked how it gave him an insight to struggling teenagers.
Dick: Thinks it should be a movie, liked it but didnât relate to it, saw it more as an awareness thing but definitely didnât hate it.
Babs: Had a lot of questions in the end. Had the same reaction as Dick. Put it in the library and did a quick check of anyone who checked it out.
Jason: If he was Robin when he read it, it wouldâve bummed him out because it was genuinely sad. He related to some bits since he lived in crime alley. If it was current Jason who read it, heâd be much more emotionally invested in the book (since heâs very dramatic as it is) and definitely went online, found every video saying Riley was a good person/said he was hot, and doxxed them. Made the code word for Slade âRileyâ for obvious reasons.
Tim: Sort of freaks out because he is also seventeen. Wouldâve liked it better as a show or movie like Dick because it took him a while to read (ADHD Tim here btw) but didnât hate it, took it just as Bruce did and helped Jason dox the Riley enjoyers (definitely strengthened their strained bond)
Steph: Definitely would like the book. She sees it as her mind being written out, wants it as a movie or show because it was enjoyable to her and thinks it should be one. Watched as Tim and Jason doxxed people and claimed she tried to stop them (definitely didnât).
Cass: Didnât really have an opinion, she liked that there was a happy ending and took it as a reminder that not all scars come from an outside battle. It also makes her keep a closer eye on everyoneâs wellbeing.
Duke: Sees it as a sad book to read. Found it interesting and thought it also wouldnât be a bad idea to turn it into a movie or show (helps everyone convince Bruce to make it happen somehow).
Damian: He didnât like it (heâs lying and rereads it anytime he can.) He appreciated how Charlie had a thing for art and silence, and he takes it how Bruce would. It gives him a better understanding of the outside world and how truly cruel it can be. Might just recommend Talia read it.
