I will not be afraid to say that I voted Elucien/ Gwynriel/ Jassa because they ARE MEANT TO BE

This is a burner account that I created so I am not affiliated with any ship. As such, it is possible that the results may not be representative if not a lot of people see this poll. In anticipation of that, I am opening this poll for one week so that hopefully more people can see it.

I wanted to include all the prominent ships and I apologize that for the second option (Elriel/Vassien), I really could not think of any other ships that characters Gwyn and Jurian are involved in, besides their predominant ships of Gwynriel and Jassa respectively, to make both sides equal in number. I am aware that Jassa has another ship name (Vassian), but I thought it was too similar to Vassien and might confuse people reading this, which was why I picked Jassa over Vassian. The order of which side of the ship war would be placed as the first and second option was decided by a coin toss, which is also the order of the ship tags' appearance in this post. Within each option, the order of ships was determined alphabetically.

This poll is conducted out of curiosity. I am aware that it cannot possibly encapsulate everybody's opinions in the fandom as not everyone uses Tumblr.

Azriel is colour blind and can only see Gwyn's eyes and hair

So, imagine this:

It starts small. One day dueling with Gwyn, she manages to throw him to the floor (he was distracted by her beauty, that's how she did it. Of course) and he is just struggling trying to get up and then his shadows just tell him to stop and he, angry and annoyed, stops struggling. And he is just staring at Gwyn, who is standing above him, a sword at his neck, both her feet in each side of his hips and then once she notices he surrendered, a mischievous smile curves her lips and she says "Good boy" and something in Azriel just clicks and his "steeled velvet" friend (sorry, I had to) snaps to attention and he is just left staring at her as she makes her way to Nesta and Emerie who are cheering for her.

She had called him a good boy and he had obviously reacted to it, but it was probably due to the shock.

The next time it happens, Azriel decided to learn mind stilling and who is best to teach such a beautiful art than Gwyn? So, there he is, counting his breaths while Gwyn guides him and he just keeps getting distracted and Gwyn keeps telling him I'm the softest way possible to focus, and when he finally does, she whispers "You're doing so good" and his focus breaks because his mind took a turn in the wrong right direction and now Gwyn is scolding him for not concentrating and he is just trying to mask his arousal.

The third time it happens is in front of both Cassian and Rhys. They're just doing a demonstration on two against one combat when he gets distracted by a nasty comment Nesta made and now he is on the floor confused because now his jaw is on fire and he has no idea what happened. Gwyn, being the soft girl she is, goes to him and asks him if he's okay and he doesn't answer because:

He's embarrassed.

He can see her freckles up close and is doing something weird to his brain.

So worried!Gwyn being very cautious takes her hands to his face to make him focus and the contact makes his skin burn (wrong choice of words) in the best way possible. He is just staring at her in awe and Gwyn noticing his attention, mumbles "That was good, Azriel. You did very good." And he practically melts and Rhys and Cassian are just staring at him like "We lost him"

Then it starts escalating. Suddenly he tries to do everything he can to please Gwyn and she just keeps praising him in the softest ways she can and he is just over the cloud. And then in their first kiss, Gwyn is just there gasping for breath while he tries not to jump on her when she says "you're so so perfect." And something in him breaks because nobody had ever said that to him.

Then later, she holds his hands and kisses them and he loves it.

And then, he scoots closer to her everywhere and his wings touch her back and the simple contact calms her.

Then, he plays with her hair because he loves the way it shines in the sun.

Then, she curls around him while he writes reports and he stops his reports just to hug her and enjoy the way she feels.

Then, during the first time, Gwyn moans "you make me feels so good" and keeps saying praises and he loses it and pounds into her and her hands are on his hair, his face, his back, his hands, and he cums first when Gwyn whispers in his ear "I want all of you" and he feels bad about Cumming first but then he makes up with his mouth and enjoys it because Gwyn is praising him while she rides his face.

And he enjoys sex with her, but he enjoys the simple moments more when she tells him he did a good job somewhere, or when she calls him a good boy, or when she tells him how she loves all of him.

And the Inner circle is just in shock because one of the most feared males in Pyrinthia has his head on Gwyn's legs while she runs her hands through his hair and keeps telling him how perfect and wonderful he is and how much she loves him.

Because in reality,Az is the one with a praise kink and he is very touchy and Gwyn loves loving him and reminding him of that every day.

*sighs* I had to:

The Cauldron: He's staying, why is he staying?

Azriel: "I can't sleep without my favorite dagger"

The Cauldron: no, wait. You were supposed to leave-

Azriel: "his shadows darted 0ut to dance with it"

The Cauldron: Why is it doing that? I didn't do that

Azriel: "rotate your wrist"

The Cauldron: They're joking with each other. What is happening right now?

Azriel: "something restless settling in him"

The Cauldron: I need an EXPLANATION!

Azriel: "charming irreverence gone"

The Cauldron: Charming irreverence?

Azriel questioning the Cauldron and then having a spark in his chest for Gwyn wasn’t a coincidence

just another little thing I need to get out of my head:

The "see you tomorrow, Shadowsinger" line is so fucking... hot??

Imagine sweet, funny Gwyn going absolutely feral about the obstacle cycle and Azriel is soo here for it.

He keeps teasing her and at some point Gwyn just loses it and goes Imma change tactics, asshole.

She reaches that playful, temptress side of herself she thought she was never going to be able to use again...

And drops an absolutely bat-killing, wing-shivering line that has Azriel speechless.

We all know Gwyn has this musical, beautiful voice. Now imagine she basically purred the 'Shadowsinger' (males have been purring all over these books and no one says a word about it, leave Berdara to her business).

and the poor Spymaster is like "Dear Mother and Holy Gods above, did she just...???"

All while Gwyn is just "[insert evil laugh] handle that, your emo bat [oh this rimes] [proud of herself]".

It got me giggling and kicking my feet.

Me, throwing a dictionary at this line of thought because singing and dancing are not the same as grumbling, and antis clearly need all the help they can get:

Nesta’s powers grumbled like a beast that was slightly disturbed by another powerful being.

Azriel’s threw a party.

My favorite thing about them is how Azriel is constantly like:

"My soul is broken and I cannot love. There's so much blood in my hands, I could never commit the sin of touching. I'm dark and mysterious and tragic, I live in the shadow-"

And Gwyn is like:

"So you are batman? Pretty shadows. Shut up and have a bracelet. Also, I hid Truth-Teller. And I can't sleep." *Kicks him in the forehead and runs*

Gwynriel’s today feels like a good day to think about the fact Gwyn saw firsthand what Azriel was capable of the moment she met him and she was never frightened of him or his shadows. She was curious about him and then it took her no time at all to start teasing him once they met again.

Gwyn sees Azriel. And has since day one.

I don’t know, sounds like endgame behavior to me. 

Had to repost cause I was thinking about this today, and:

The lyrics are, undoubtedly, Azriel coded, and the melody gives me Gwyn vibes.
