Sketch for my drawing "The Lover's Storm" I've been planning it for a month now and i finally finished the sketch. Its not the size i wanted but i aint got more so deal with it. It tells the story of two lovers one a harpy the other a pleb runaway, the harpies are mythical greek creatures that are part female part owl and are the bearer of news for Zeus and also appear during storms. The harpy here is represented to be grieving their lover who has fallen ill and therefore creating a storm before taking flight (the wave is meant to represent the sea being shaken and the clouds in circular form over her head are a premonition)
Harpy design is getting along now. Started painting the tiny full body profiles, and am on 2nd layer of paint for the head profiles. If you look in the bottom left and right corner you can catch some bird tidd- aah inflatable display wattles..
After remembering about ravens and wolves mutual relationship, I couldn't help but wonder about a werewolf and harpy.
Imagine a more tribal pack with a few harpies helping them out during hunts. Cubs chasing the harpies. As well as the harpies annoying the older werewolves just for fun.
Both not only hunt together but eat together like a family. Always having one another's backs and always following each other.
Just werewolves and harpies monster relationship.
No one asked for this, but I started thinking about more animal mutual relationship and then turning those into more monster relationships and I started thinking.
A garden spider type drider protecting a human's garden from pests. Or just protecting it from anything and everything.
The drider always checks their friends plants to make sure they're healthy and safe from annoying bugs and birds.
They give tips to the human on how to care for the garden if they're inexperienced.
Human tries to do something in return since the drider has done so much for them.
Like maybe offer to give a place to stay, or make meals for them to eat. (Even if they're not sure of a drider's diet). Just anything to repay the drider back for its hard work.

Alright so. I’m back to this. I dunno if he’s reealllyyy an OC. But at this point I’ve added so much to his character and backstory that I can barely interact with the actual game anymore. he’s just my personal little dress up doll. And I have about 4 dozen different AUs for the pre-game danganronpa 2 cast. and some of those are monster aus bc of course they are. And this is one of three moster!aus i’ve settled on… You can tell where this is going, methinks…
Uhhhhh… AFAB genderfluid siren kazuichi souda. But hes just shit at singing… and alluring people.
I also meshed together the og bird-women sirens from the myths and the fish-women sirens from modern day interpretations. So he’s got feathers AND scales and maybe a shark tail bc i can do what i want with my little guys.
Btw I didn’t draw in wings bc I’m not quite sure how they’ll be shaped and placed, but those shits are like. 25 feet across MINIMUM. And at least as tall as his whole body. Also, hes got bird legs. And arms. And body in general. Why’s he wear the same baggy ass, filthy coveralls every day? Because his whole body is covered in feathers, and its hell to wear tighter clothes, but he can’t legally walk around ‘naked’ all day. Eyes super sensitive to light. His lips are kinda beaky? Like they have normal lips but there’s a hard beak-like structure underneath. And they’re kinda pointy. I think it maybe works kindof like retractable claws or maybe in a goblin shark-esque fashion, but i don!t know how that would work. So maybe his mouth just looks like one of the in-between stages of the animorphs.
In this AU. He doesn’t have bad vision in the traditional sense. But he sees in a LOT of detail and it gets really overwhelming. So he’s got these dinky little blurry-glasses to help when he needs to read or look at something with small details. He’s also CRAZY for hair. Preening insticts yknow. Loves to comb it.
Also he’s uh. Autistic. But thats not an AU thing, just a him thing.
okay so @bumfyluvur96 just reminded me that a comical amount of dexter's lab characters have the same glasses as scudworth and judgement boy and now i gotta declare a new character trend

Jaskier is like any other harpy, in his own humble opinion, except perhaps, Jaskier was a much better singer. He had a lovely voice. He was the best singing harpy around, in his opinion. Jaskier finds a tasty meal one day. Fresh flesh, and he partakes in the feast. He's shocked nearly into an early moult when a large lumbering figure of a man prowls toward him, with beautiful white hair, though sadly no feathers.
Jaskier likes admiring the man, and tells the man as such. The man sighs, but Jaskier caught a smirk, Jaskier knows what he saw. "I'm afraid I'm here for your meal." Jaskier huffs and flaps his wings with annoyance. A pity the sexy man was taking his food. The man takes his meal and goes to walk away, but pauses, and rips off a leg of the beast, throwing it to Jaskier. Jaskier catches it in his talons, and sings as he flutters about in the air. What a lovely, kind, perfect, beautiful man! Jaskier decides to follow after him. Perhaps he'll get more food, and more smirks that way! Surely the beautiful man wouldn't possibly mind.
Bird Triplets
So @missterious-figure made a new DCA AU called Wine and Feathers and I love it so I have birdfied three of my OCs! They are based off of barn owls but I gave them more unnatural colors than the usual white and cream colors irl barn owls got cause I don’t have to stick with them right? So, these are the Warrior Bird Triplets (Guerrero Triplets in the OG version lol-), their names being Abigail, Adira and Alanis.
First we have Abigail, who is the eldest yet the smallest one of the triplets, very charming and quite the flirt. A bit of a diva, think of Rarity from MLP, give her feathers and more pink and purple, and you have Abby! Most femme of the trio.
Next up we have Adira, the middle triplet and the one with most… issues. In their former residence, they were treated less than decently and so Adira gained a scar and trust issues due to so. With strangers she rather uninterested at best and extremely hostile at worst. If she cares about you though, she will be quite loving. Most futch of the trio.
And lastly we have Alanis, the youngest of the triplets yet the biggest! She is actually trans (MtF)! She is cheerful, bright and a bit of a dummy. A bit of a mix of Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie (it’s easy to compare my OCs with MLP ponies). She is a total herbo and the most butch of the trio.
And yeah, they can twist their heads a full on 270 degrees, it be normal but understandably terrifying for those who aren’t used to seeing humanoid owls do so lol. Gals be fluffy birds too so hugging them would be super nice :3
At first, I was thinking of making Adira and Alanis bartenders while Abigail be a performer with Sun, she loves the spotlight, but then I realized, I don't actually know what jobs the humanoid birds would have in the AU and I am unsure if being a bartender is an option for them. Once I know more, I'll try and choose a job for them but for now they kind of unemployed lol. But if anyone has any job ideas that you might think would suit them, I am more than happy to hear about them! Abigail still a performer tho, that's for sure!
Good to know! Okay, having this information now, I can now safely say the next about the Warrior Bird Triplets: Abigail: The one who loves the spotlight the most, adores it when people stare in awe at her. Can become a lil jealous whenever the peacocks appear tho because they would hog all the attention. Still, she is pretty friendly with them and can be civil with them. When not performing, she would brush her feathers and preen herself because she likes looking her best. Would let people pet her as long as they don't mess up her feathers that she worked so hard to put in a perfect hairstyle. Would peck someone if they annoyed her or crossed any boundary of hers, did so once, got scolded but she didn't care. Her handler is a girl who needs to need more supervision than the harpy herself, the handler can be a bit of a dumbass at times but does her job well enough. Abby likes her a lot. (Will be a chaotic duo at times lol-) Adira: Not the biggest fan of performing, she mostly does it to please her sisters, after all, the three would have been taken into the casino as a packaged deal because hey, colorful triplet harpies are absolutely amazing ya know? (at least in my opinion, don't know by casino standards-) When not performing, she would stick around the bar most of the time and try and stay away from people as much as possible. Very indifferent about the peacocks in general, but she dislikes Moon the most. She would only really trust her sisters and her handler who be a very sweet guy, a bit too trusting at times (probably becomes a guard bird for him lol-). Would be the only human allowed to pet her.
Alanis: Loves performing mostly because she has her sisters with her, kind of a dummy. Most hyper and friendly (and oblivious) of the triplets, she likes almost everyone in the casino and often doesn't realize if someone is trying to be mean to her. Admires the peacocks, especially Eclipse, cause they all so majestic and very nice to look at and their feathers! She would say so a lot, it almost gets irritating. Is the type to turn her head 180 when someone says 'Don't look now but the guy behind you-' and the other person be like 'I just said don't!'. Loves it when people pet her. It's a bad habit of hers that appears will never stop happening. Her handler is a rather small guy, both for harpies and human (male) standards and she loves how small and holdable he is.
And that's it for now! I'll possibly add more to this later on.
If you don't mind me asking, what jobs can the birds do and not do in the casino? They can perform, we can see that, but can they do anything else like bartend and stuff? Take your time answering this, no rush, just curious as I wish to write a fic about the Wine and Feathers AU and I wanna make sure I get things right!
The casino only takes rare or colorful harpies. Each bird is taken care of by a handler or a handler takes care of a few individuals. But the birds are mainly there to look pretty. And not all of them perform. For the casino, harpies beauty is the most important thing. If they were working actual jobs, that could compromise their appearance.
Some just stay in the safari area to be looked at. Though, all harpies are allowed to go to the bar. Some just choose not to.
HELL YEAH! Cuddle time motherfucker! Hah!

This is a drawing based on an AU me and my friend ( @gsstories ), where Joshua (human) is Daniel's handler. Semi, functioning as his translator during those early days as a newbie.
This is all based on @missterious-figure Wine and Feather AU. Which, let me say, wonderful au! I love the peacock trios design so much and its pretty funny to imagine Joshua and Daniel just watching poor Y/N dealing with those three.
Joshua could also fuction as a therapy human for these birds — he just likes taking care of people and animals.

Okay, from a biological stand point the mythological creature known as the harpy, do not or would not have the mammary glands associated with milk producing mammals. Its possible that what we call boobs on them, are a form of crop pouch that is located in the neck of some birds. Now considering harpies are often depicted as a weird mammal, avian hybrid its possible that what we call breast are actually crop stores and similar to milk producing mammals they use these to feed their young.
Now the real question is considering both male and female birds can give crop milk would male harpies also be able to give crop milk in a similar way?
