so I have been putting together a TW AU where Yuu is a Viking *cough* HTTYD and Astrid vibes *cough* and I want to see if anybody has any ideas and I’ll be posting more abt the AU soon just working out the beginning stuff
Viking!yuu AU
I mentioned my AU in a earlier post so now I will be going into the AU
My Yuu is a female Viking (but if I get requested to use other genders I will but she is canonically female) and super strong and cool (like think Astrid and black widow)
Yuu lives in a large island with around 10,000 people
Yuu is the daughter of the chief and a only child
The island that Yuu lives in is called Kujos
In Kujos there is a ceremony on everybody’s 15th birthday where they are giving their special wepon
the special weapons are either a dagger with intricate markings of the family on the handle.
a bow and arrow with markings on the arrows and the top and bottom of the bow. with the color of the fletch’s on the arrow depend on status and family
and finally an axe(except is reserved for the chiefs family or people who have high standings) with intricate designs on the handle and metal
in Kujos the gods (Norse or Greek I haven’t decided) will gift those who they deem worth with markings
If someone does not earn the markings they are giving tattoos of their family markings at a certain age
the color of the markings depend on the god or goddess (if earned)
If the marking are tattooed on the color is the same as the fletch on the arrows
so that’s all I have right now I’m still trying to work out the details but those are my ideas and if any of you have any other ideas I should add let me know in the comments and I will add them in my next post

Woahhhh, actual doodles? More likely than you think. So, I just finished binging OTNWAS, and it was one of the most spectacular fics I’ve ever read. It got me thinking about an au where Jack managed to be able to tame and ride a snow wraith. But that’s the extent of my thought process, idk if in this au he has his powers or not, or if snow wraith’s trust was given or earnt through Jack’s actions. I don’t even know what he’d call the dragon. He seems like the kind of guy who names something with a lot of thought, but 99% of the time refers to them as nicknames or curses them out. Poor snow wraith has no idea what their name actually is.
I’m sure someone's already done something with Jack taming a snow wraith, so if anyone can point me in the right direction, I’d be very grateful. I am very hungry for content, but I may just be having to do my own thing.

Me; Acts nonchalant about a new au
Also me; *frothing at the mouth, imaginary scenes in my head constantly, spending hours on this*
So, I kinda want Jack to be his usual mischievous self, accidently becoming a cryptid in the process. Obviously, I’m making it Frostcup too, cuz chemistry. But once more thats really as far as I’ve taken it. Idk about the time-line, why/how Jack is in the archipelago, or if Jamie should be in it. I think I should add Jamie, he’s great.
I finally have an idea or plot in the Jack rides a SnowWraith au!
So, I’ve decided that Jack doesn’t have his powers, but he does fall through ice and eventually gets white hair. I might do a small animatic with the story about that later. Anyway.
After Jack barely survives falling into a frozen river, Jack comes across an abandoned egg in a tiny burrow. Not knowing where he is, and the egg being warm to the touch -he decides to stay put and try to survive through hypothermia. Jack finds out he bit off more than he could chew when the egg finally hatches, and he doesn’t have the heart to leave the hatchling alone.
Imprinting was the most obvious choice with the fact that Jack doesn’t have his powers, but I wanted him to have a really close relationship with the snowwraith (still doesn’t have a name).
Also, take note I that I wasn’t looking at refs while drawing, and I’ve never seen a baby snowraith so I assumed they were like baby rhinos. Bad eye-sight and everything.
Also also, See 7? Well the reason the snowraith has their wing on Jack’s head is cuz I work with birds of prey and every now and then they’ll just drape their wing over your head. Some more than others, but they just leave it there sometimes and expect you to be fine with it (which I am). It’s normally the great grey owl, Misty, cuz she bites the glove looking for food and in the process flaps her wings.
I wanted to name the Jack’s Snowwraith ‘Windstrike’ but apparently there’s a dragon species called windstriker so back to the drawing board I go.
I did not expect this much traction with the Jack Frost rides a snow wraith au. I got another animatic/animation in the works but I’m on holiday and I’m not back til Thursday. Sooooo, don’t worry, I’m not abandoning it or anything. Take a quick doodle of a teething snow-wraith, done on my phone, for a bit of serotonin.

I once saw a video about the soundtrack and how it has different parts according to the characters in scene and that each part mixes perfectly in the main part and that's why we can remember the film so we'll based of the music

Silver Armor <3 Spent so much time adding the little details, and I think it was all worth it! I haven't painted Astrid in super long time and I really enjoyed revisiting the music of the films while making this :)
Golden Armor ^^ Had soooo much fun revisiting HTTYD and making this new piece! My last HTTYD panting must be years old by now! I was actually thinking of doing the same concept with Astrid and Stormfly - Let me know if you would like to see that! :)
