True Beauty | Little By Little | Han Seojun X Kang Soojin Fanfic Series | Part 3 (Last Part)

Warnings: a little angst (not edited)

Han Seojun smiled as he looked at one of the fans approach him at the fan sign event which was conducted to help young kids who can't afford going to school, the idea of it was proposed to the entertainment by none other than Kang Soojin and because she was the one who suggested Heegyeong decided to let her plan the event. The fan in front of him smiled at him brightly and expressed her gratitude and her appreciation for him as he nodded and thanked her for her appreciation and time. He quietly signed on the piece of paper she offered and watched her approach the other members of his band as he ran his fingers through his hair to set them right. His eyes stopped at Soojin who was writing something down on a notepad as she heard someone give her instructions from the other side of her phone. Her face was tensed up and he pursed his lips as he watched her furrow her eyebrows and look around for something. He was extremely proud of her for becoming this selfless and strong woman but he knew that she needed a break too sometimes but she never let herself rest. His attention was torn away from him as he looked at another fan approach him and he put on the same bright smile on his face to welcome her.

-

Soojin rubbed her forehead with her fingers as she looked around for something that was supposedly important part of the concluding ceremony but she couldn't find it. Her hands felt sweaty and a feeling of being the reason for someone's disappointment spread over her. She took a deep breath and turned around only to be startled by Seojun coming out of nowhere and screaming "boo". She placed her hand on her chest to calm her racing heart and shook her head.

"You look so stressed. Take a break." He said as she glared at him and continued to think where could this ribbon tied box be?

"Ya? Soojin?" He called as she turned and looked at him. Neither of them realized how close they were standing till their eyes met and she felt his breath on her face and so did she. Their hearts beat in their own sync rapidly in their chests and both of them silently prayed for the other to not notice. He gulped and stepped away and she decided to look around.

"I'll be back in a while." She mumbled and walked away using 'looking for the box' as an excuse.

Seojun smacked his head as he watched her leave and cursed himself silently for making her uncomfortable.

-

She finally found the box with the ribbons and held it in her hands and turned around to walk away but stopped in her tracks when she heard something as people watched her.

Isn't she Doctor Kang's daughter?

Oh My God. Do you know her backstory? I read the other day that she exposed her best friend's secret because she liked the boy her best friend was dating.

And oh my goodness, did you know she apparently left her father's house like imagine being so full of yourself and look at her now, she is working like a servant here lol

She doesn't deserve Han Seojun at all, I mean have you looked at him and then there's her

She heard the footsteps fade away as they eyed her one last time and walked away. Her face remained stoic as her head flooded with so many things at once and it was like someone slapped her right across her face and reminded her that she doesn't deserve anything good. She wasn't the one who just let someone speak over her and let them drag her down but those words they spoke, they had nothing but truth behind them.

She didn't deserve Han Seojun, he was way too good for her, she was like a broken toy who was still learning to fix herself while he was like breathe of fresh air that made people around him happy. He deserved someone who will help him light up his life further and not darken it and suffocate him with the baggage of a dark past. She blinked as she came back into her senses and held the box closer to herself and walked away from there. She went to the management area and placed the box there. Seojun looked at her and smiled to grab her attention but she didn't look back at him, she just couldn't.

Seojun noticed it and he couldn't help but worry now. What happened? He wondered as he looked at her. But was interrupted when his fellow band member tapped his shoulder and asked him something, he answered his questions but half heartedly, his attendance was focused on Soojin. He decided to go talk to her but was stopped by the management as they asked him to attend a q/a panel, he tried to convince them to let him go for a while but they asked him to comply. He reluctantly went and sat back in his seat to attend the panel. There were many questions asked and he answered most of them with a fake smile plastered on his face. One question captured his attention and he looked down not knowing what to answer.

Is there someone who means the world to you?

Kang Soojin's ears perked up when she heard the question. She knew what the answer will be but something inside in her wanted to her him say so that it would hurt less than it already does.

"There is." came his answer and it caught her off guard, her eyes widened but she tried to not give a reaction as she checked things on her notepad and tried her to show that she was unaffected. The audience broke into a chatter and Seojun couldn't help but throw a small glance towards Soojin and turned to face the crowd.

"His mom." His bandmate replied as the media broke into a bunch of awws but he was lost in his own world unbothered about how he almost made a big mess and simply nodded at them knowing that answer was applicable too. His mom did mean the world to him.

The reporters jumped to ask them other questions regarding the personal lives but his management stepped in and closed the event for the day. The reporters thanked them for their time and he bowed slightly and exited the stage. Realization hit me like a bucket of cold water when he watched Heegyeong glare at him.

"What was that?" She asked and he gulped.

"Well?" She asked again as he scratched the back of his neck and she raised her eyebrow at him.

"That was a huge gesture now, I don't even care about the mess media will make out of it but you better tell me that you've finally told Soojin how you feel about her." She continued as his eyes widened and he looked around to see if Soojin was anywhere near them, much to his luck, she stood on the other side of the stage checking supplies and distributing pamphlets.

"I didn't." He said as Heegyeong slapped her palm to her forehead.

"You are such an idiot, I swear." She said as she looked at Soojin and then back at him.

"I'll tell her soon." He said as Heegyeong shook her head at him.

"We'll see. I'll handle the media." She replied and walked away. Seojun smiled and walked towards Soojin but his band mates dragged him the other way to bombard him with questions knowing that he wasn't definitely talking about his mom.

_

It was late in the night and Soojin decided to go home alone. She sighed as she reached her home and was about to her open the door to her apartment when she heard the ting of her elevator.

"Soojin." She heard a voice follow it and just stood there still instead of turning around.

"Why have you been ignoring me?" He asked as she gulped not wanting to face him.

"Soojin, I'm asking you something. Please, answer me." He repeated as she took a deep breathe to calm herself down.

A week, she managed to avoid Han Seojun for a week, she didn't respond to his calls or visit him at his studio, she left early before he could come to her workplace and that was because he knew him and his schedule too well. She didn't expect him to show up to her apartment at this time on a week night, especially when the release of his new album was 3 days away.

He stepped closer to her when she didn't respond. His heart broke in his chest to look at her avoid him like that. Initially, he thought that she was upset because he didn't tell her about the person he likes but then he figured it was more than that when she started pushing him away.

"Soojin?" He called out once again but this time his voice was softer than before and it was filled with so much affection than it almost made Soojin turn around.

"Ya. Why are you here?" She managed to speak out and he stopped in his tracks.

"What do you mean by why am I here?" He asked.

"Aren't you supposed to be busy?" She asked.

"I am, but what am I supposed to do when this person who I truly care about decides to ignore me for a week?" He asked her.

"You are supposed to leave her and never come back to her because she isn't worth it." She said as her voice cracked in the end.

"What? What do you mean by not worth it?" He asked as he stepped closer.

"Because, I'm not worth it, Seojun." She said as she turned around and he stepped back as he looked at the vulnerability in her voice.

"I'm not worth it, I'm not worth anything, I don't deserve to be happy, that's what is written for me. My entire life, I've suffered because I'm not perfect and I'm useless, I kept trying to prove myself to so many people so many times, but no one ever liked me or appreciated me the way I wanted them to and I was fine with it, I was adapting accordingly but then you showed up in my life after all those years where I struggled to be content with the fact that I'm not worth anything because of what I did, I tried being selfish and ended up destroying myself and it will haunt me forever. But, why did you come along, why did you not push me away like others? Why were you like this sunshine that lit up my dark world." She said all at once as he processed it.

"But, alas, you will never know how is it to feel like that?" She asked as he looked at her.

"Who else will know that pain better than me?" He asked himself.

The weirdest thing about both of them was how they suffered from loving someone who will never be theirs and that ache was something they could relate to and maybe that's what they had in common with all those differences that set them aside.

"I already destroyed myself, I don't want to destroy you, Seojun." She said as she felt tears run down her face and his heart clenched at the sight in front of him while she looked at him with an aching heart.

"I don't want to break my heart either. I don't think I can do that to myself again." She whispered more to herself but he heard it.

He walked closer to her and expected her to lash out on him when he held her face in his palms. She looked so broken but so beautiful at the same time that he couldn't help but admire her in that raw state.

"Then, don't let your heart break." He whispered, caressed her cheeks and wiped her tears off with his thumbs.

"Kang Soojin, I appreciate you and adore you the way you are. I don't care about what you did in the past, because you are not what she was anymore, that Kang Soojin learned and repented for her mistakes and became the girl in front of me who is strong, kind and compassionate and that's the girl, I like." He said as he brushed her hair strands off her face with one hand and held her face with the other.

She felt fresh tears pool in her tears as she looked at the man in front of her and couldn't help admire him as he looked into her eyes.

He pressed his lips to her forehead and she felt tingles over her skin and a gush of warmth spread all over her body and she felt safe near him.

"Is it true? You like me back?" She whisper asked when he pulled away, smiled at her and nodded. She was overwhelmed with so many emotions and irrespective of what she felt this entire week, she felt accepted in his arms and he made her feel so happy and complete in ways she couldn't describe, he made her feel important and in that moment she knew that she will be the biggest fool on this planet if she let this angel go.

She looked at his smiling face and felt bold as he looked at her. She grabbed his jacket and pressed her lips against his. He was taken aback at first but slowly wrapped his arms around her waist to pull her closer and moved his lips against hers. Neither of them cared of how messy it was with her tears or if they were literally in the lobby as their lips moved against each other in a perfect rhythm.

Soojin pulled away to look at his face and tried to calm her racing heart and to regain her breathe. He chuckled at her as his face reddened to look at hers. She couldn't but chuckle too as she wrapped her arms around him and snuggled closer to him. He laughed as he held her closer to himself and neither of them could now believe that they finally had someone who liked them back.

Things I think about at midnight because why not? 💁🏽‍♀️

How Suho was alone for almost two years without any one by his side in America. 😀

How Seojun deserved better and deserved to move on from Jugyeong but we never got to see it. 😃

Okay, Long Rant time.

Lee Suho and my thoughts

I'll be talking mostly about drama Suho

Tw// mention of suicide, depression, death

Honestly, I am so done with all people putting Suho down and using excuses like

"He was boring" "He had no personality" "Han Seojun was way better."

No. Wait. Hold on.

First of all, Lee Suho as a character is a complex personality both in the webtoon in the drama. Now, take a step back and imagine how would it be like if you were in his place?

Can you imagine being a kid watching your mother die slowly and then watch your own father cheat on your mother with some other woman?

He was a kid, for God's sake and no one thought about it that way. He closed himself off and distanced himself from others and avoided getting too attached to anyone except for this one girl he found at the comicbook store but she ended moving away from that place.

Many years later, he found two friends, Seojun and Seyeon. He slowly opened up to them and they became an important part of his life and just when he thought that things are fine, one of his friends committed suicide and as if that itself was not enough and he wasn't already overwhelmed with guilt, Seojun showing up, blaming him and calling him a murderer made things worse for him and that's how in a very short period of time, he lost another friend.

Can you imagine that happening around you?

Honestly, I can't.

Even if I love Han Seojun as a character, I'll never truly forgive him for not hearing Suho out and blaming him and breaking things off instead of sorting the problems out.

After years of blaming himself, suffering from PTSD and depression to the point that he got panic and anxiety attacks, he continued to distance himself from others and became this cold distant guy because he didn't want people to warm up to him and the thought of losing the people (who he grows close to) in the future haunted him. He also considered himself the worst kind of person and didn't bother to let people think otherwise.

I understand that he was kinda rude to Jugyeong in the start but when he understood what he is doing, he stopped doing it and apologised. But somewhere he was still scared of hurting her or losing her that's the reason why he immediately shut himself off after Seojun not very kindly reminded of that one thing he already blamed himself for and told her things that would push her away even when it hurt him.

He was scared to go ahead with his instincts and you can see him just stand in the background and do nothing at times, but then he eventually decided to confess what he felt and much to his luck she liked him back. He got that happiness he craved for since he was a kid through her and was it wrong?

No. Because she was healing his broken state and he was healing hers.

And just like that when things seemed to good for them, a sequence of events unfolded themselves before them. Him getting involved in an accident, that scene where he was about to get hit by the car, the expression on his face screamed that he was alright with his life ending right then and that broke my heart. He blamed himself that much for something which was not even his fault. His confrontation with his father where in he finally lets it all out, that scene made me feel terrible for him, he went through so much pain and suffering for so long and yet again when he was settling and accepting things around them, Jugyeong's secret came out and he literally ran around to make sure she was okay, idc if you are team Seojun but if you tell that he didn't care enough, rewatch the entire show. :)

Through all of this, Suho tried his best to learn from his mistakes and to come out of his little anti social shell. He was finally learning to find happiness in the moments while they lasted.

And because well his bad luck loves him, his father ended up in a hospital in a country far away from his hometown with no one familiar and the worst thing was parting from the people he cared about, Seojun and Jugyeong.

If you tell me that he was the one who broke up, do you try to think why did he?

Again, imagine yourself in his shoes, your faraway, like almost more than 12 hours away from someone you love and that person is in their hometown staying up all night waiting for your call and ending up sick because of doing so. It was obvious he felt the guilt of making her suffer like that, so he broke it off. Now, Jugyeong had friends by her side and her family but him? He had no one, just a few people from his dad's company and doctors. He was literally in an unfamiliar country surrounded with strangers.

Imagine getting up everyday and finding yourself in the same place. I can't imagine how hard it was for him to be like that but he went through it for almost more than one year.

He deserved happiness and what was wrong with it if he found through Jugyeong?

But what I truly love about his character is how he loves and cares with all his heart and is loyal to the core. I mean seriously. Also the way he changed and learned from all the mistakes he made and was the first to apologise and actually change makes me love him even more.

Also, I get it if you dislike Suho, but don't hate on Cha Eunwoo, he did his best to portray the character the way it was written and according to me, he did an amazing job.
