Death is a peculiar idea the reason I call it an idea is because as humans we all think that death doesn't exist. As to truly die isn't just the end of your physical body but the end of your consciences as a whole. That is what death is the very end of the thing that makes you, you. We cannot comprehend being without consciousness therefore we don't think that we can die. Interesting fact I would say credit to the person who said it on tiktok but I would like to somewhat expand on that. Humans don't think that we cant die we think that we just wont. There's somewhat of a difference there although small its there. Thinking we cant die is assuming the idea that something is preventing us from taking that final step from completely not existing whether that be a God or Gods or nature itself. Therefore by saying we cant die is basically implying that there's some higher power that exists that refuses to let its creation die. However, if you say that we wont die isn't really implying that there's some God its just humans thinking that it isn't possible for us to actually die. Essentially, its humans being stubborn fucks and saying 'Death yeah we don't know her'. We think were immortal. Which in a way we are. You are made up of atoms and particles that are 13.8 billion years old (how old the universe is according to scientists) and these atoms are probably gonna be here until the end of the universe which will be in a couple trillion years. We'll all be dead by then which is a weird thought as though you may not be conscious for it parts of you will see the end of it all. Even if its only one particle you would have seen the end. What's confusing for me is the idea that I'm actually gonna die. Like I'm going to die. Like I'm not immortal the fuck. So your telling me that I don't have forever to do everything im gonna grow old and die. Shit. So then this leads me to thinking what now. Do i try and live my life to the fullest or go back to sleep nine times out of ten i choose sleep cause I'm tired. But I guess you should try and live your life to the fullest I guess cause you only have one (unless you believe in reincarnation or an afterlife). Anyways you could say none of that really matters as in the end were all gonna die but we'll live forever. That's nice I guess. Well nice until you think of the idea that the entire of our universe’s history will be erased at some point by well the universe and well no longer matter not like we ever did. But other than that its nice.
